Google assistant rollout

With Google officially starting the GA rollout I am curious if anyone has yet to get it? I updated to the Google Play Services Beta and latest Google apps via apkmirror.com. And NO I have NOT got GA working.
I STILL only have this (Screenshot)
I used a beta APK that was linked from Android police a couple weeks ago, but it broke the Feed part of the Google app, so I deleted it. Assistant did work.

Ya I am actually talking about the latest release. Google Assistant is suppose to be available to all devices now as long as they are on Android 6.0+.

I also updated to the Google Play Services Beta a few days ago thinking I would get the new assistant almost immediately but nothing yet here either.
The switch is server sided no APK's will get you the assistant anymore.
At least that's what I've been made to believe. We'll all have to patiently wait.
Took official nougat today and got Assistant!!!!

Nothing here and already updated to nougat
re assistant
I updated to nougat. Tried beta's too. Still no assistant!
I have unlocked the secret to getting Google Assistant and it unfortunately it requires your Google account to be activated server side. I tested it on 2 other devices including my own. As long as your Gmail account is on a phone with Marshmallow or above and you setup Google now to your account the next time you hold the home button it starts the assistant setup. The downside is if you remove that google account it does not stay unlocked to that device. So if you have family member that has it you can get it but otherwise Google will have to unlock your account.....
Cleared Google now app's cache, went through the setup and customization and let it run for a few minutes and got the assistant setup
Don't think it had to do with clearing the app cache they had a massive rollout of accounts the night before and yesterday looks like we got lucky.
Google assistant just landed on my phone about an hour ago. Google must be rolling things out slowly, but didn't have to do anything special.
It became active for me last night around 11pm.
I've had assistant on stock 6.0.1 for weeks... I didn't realize it was a big deal lol. Just checked for system updates though and Nougat is FINALLY available
With everything that Verizon WON'T allow us to have... (ie. Samsung Cloud, Samsung Pay @ Launch), we get a little giddy when something does land on our phones LOL.
And Samsung Pay is only still allowed because there isn't a "Verizon Pay" yet!
This sucks lol. I still haven't gotten it.
My wife hasn't either....
I still don't have assistant. Anybody else not get it yet?
Strangest thing happened with me.. I read that I needed to leave the Google services beta program to get assistant to work. So I did and uninstalled the beta version and updated to the current version. Almost instantly received Google Assistant. Then the strange part is it was gone after I used it once.. no clue why and can't get it back no matter what I try.

Bixby updates

Did anyone just got updates to Bixby? It was Dicatation and something else, 5 in total, but i still don't have the voice, even if i signed up for the beta (
I signed up for beta recently (~3 days ago), no email yet from Samsung., but I did see some Bixby updates which are dated July 6th I believe...
One of the things I noticed is you can now unlock the device with your voice. One of the frustrating things about bixby was that when you wake the device with "Hi Bixby" and have a screen lock, it wouldn't unlock the device and you still had to manually intercept to unlock the device. Now you can unlock the device with an unlock phrase.
It enabled Q&A, kinda just like googleing something. Like it can now answer who is the president or when is fathersday. Stuff like that.
I don't think I got the Bixby updates. When I got my S8+ last month, I tried it and it was pretty good. However, when it was active my Google Assistant didn't work whenever I tried activating it by saying, "Ok Google." Did anyone have the same experience? If so, can you please advise me on how to use Bixby without it conflicting with Google Assistant? I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
I don't have any update yet.

Well you're not supposed to use them on the A2017 anyways. not zte's fault or whatever, just wanted to get that in the clear. Just change the ROM, someone's making a B09 Oreo ROM now. in the meantime just roll back to B13 or whatever

Ok google

Is Google assistant working for you guys? I mean waking it up by saying Ok Google...
I have the latest OTA and latest version of the Google app, and it says that the language is not supported, but I am using English (Us) ...
Any fix?
Probably a bug... you can try to clear the cache of Google app, and if not enough clear all data from Google app (but then you might have to redo some settings).
Same for me here in Italy, with italian language.
Ok Google stopped working 2 days ago.
I've tried every known solutions but nothing works.
Ps I'm on Pie stock.

Just Clear All Data
Now it works again!
It simply started to work again by itself...
Probably Google did something on the server side!
Yup, it started to work again by itself :good:
Edit: voice unlock is now removed. So this was because Google was removing voice unlock

Cannot play voicemails since One UI update

Ever since I updated to One UI on my Galaxy S8 (SM-G950U1) I cannot play VMs. The VMs show up in my phone app with even the length of the vm showing in seconds, but if I tap the vm it just momentarily highlights it and does nothing. It doesn't even try to play it. I am using Google Fi and I can play the the VMs via the Fi website with no problem.
I was on Android 8 official and updated to Android 9 (with One UI) official on the 9th of April. I think that was the day after it was released for that model in US. I looked at permissions and everything is ON except location. I wiped the partition cache shortly after I updated the device to One UI. I have also wiped all the app caches recently. Any one else experiencing this?
I'm having exactly the same problem, on the same g950u1 device, using Google Fi as the carrier. I'm exchanging messages with Fi, but they haven't had a solution yet. Did you find one?
I'm wondering if it's because I did an Odin from SamMobile up to the current build, rather than waiting for OTA. Considering going back to stock, then allowing the update.
I dropped the phone back to stock G950U1UES5CRF5 from sammobile and confirmed full functionality in that build, and in the following 3 security updates. When it did the 1.5gb update to Pie, the functionality was lost in the samsung dialer.
I would have warned you not to waste your time but I didn't see your earlier response until now. I did the update via OTA and Odin and they both exhibited the same problem. There seems to be no resolution. After multiple chats with Samsung they told me to take it to a Samsung retail store. Google Fi told me the issue is with Samsung. I am going to live with the issue because I can still access voicemail via the Google Fi site. Let me know if you find anything useful.
I found others with same issue here:

Hey Calico, thanks for the input - it was an entertaining experience anyway.
Where specifically are you going on the google fi site to listen to your voicemails? If I had that solution, vs the wretched call-in tool, I'd be totally fine.
Bottom left of Google Fi page says:
About us
Feedback
Google Voice
Click "Google Voice" will take you to your voicemail.
Well, that was incredibly easy! Thanks!
You are welcome.
