Hi, guys, I'm facing with low charging rate problem, everytime it says that it's charging over USB, even when I'm charging over AC. The charging rate is always under 500 mA. I've tried a lots of ROMs (Pixel Experience, AEX, RR, Nougat-based MIUI, stock MIUI 9.2.2.0) no difference, plz help.
Change u r charging adapter
It gives better result for u
Use "Anker PowerPort+ 1 Quick Charge 3.0" it's currently not available but i used this charger from last 6-7 months. Its fast!

My battery drains too fast, using my phone continually it can discharge in about 3 hours. I have installed FirstFlight N7 Themed V6 ROM and I feel the battery discharges faster than in the stock rom did. I installed Ampere app to measure how much current my phone was charging and discharging and when the charger is not plugged in it discharges at 460mA, is that normal? I bought a Samsung 2A charger and it charges at 600mA or maximum 700mA but I changed the usb cable of the charger and it charges at 860mA or maximum 900mA. I don't understand because it should charge at 1900mA but it doesn't, how does I reach that? I need to mentioned that I charge the pone directly in a wall, not in a usb port, and why does my battery drain too fast? I need help :crying:
Charging current is dynamic. You can't make it always 1900mA as it highly depends on current device status, USB cable used when charging, etc. Also, ported ROMs tend to drain more battery compared to stock one and it's normal and not an issue for those who enjoyed ported ROM.
Sent from my Redmi 3 using XDA Labs
Tried all custom roms with stock ane custom kernel...
Charging takes a whole lot time... even tries with QC 3.0 charger with beacon kernel but it is taking alot time
same issue with all recent official miui roms. Its ridiculously high. Mine takes almost 4 to 5 hours.
If problem occurs in all roms you must check at your side. Charger, cables, usb connector, battery... Did you controll charging current?
I was looking for modules to enable quick charge for Mi A1, but all I found was the mistake Xiaomi made during Oreo beta. Is there any modules to enable quick charge for Mi A1, or someone to develop a module using magisk? I've installed Magisk Manager to install Gcam, that's what made me curious. Correct me if I'm wrong in any statement!
Quick charge is generally not a good idea because it lowers the lifespan of the li-ion battery. The stock 10W (2A) charger will charge the battery at 1.5C rate which is already above the recommended standard 1C.
If you are referring to the Qualcomm's Quick charge technology... No.... Except for the obvious kernel and android changes there are also several hardware changes that need to be done for it to be enabled. Also given that 625 is with QC3 you won't really notice that much of a decrease of charging time. We still have pretty good charging times and given that the battery is only 3K it is really not that much of a deal. In the end you'll have 10-15min faster charging. Also at the end of the charging cycle (around 90%) QC is lowered to an ordinary charging, so for small batteries like ours it doesn't really have that much of a use. Also given that our battery is not easily changeable, QC and all types of faster charging lowers the lifespan of the battery significantly and it can go down in less than two years. If it is subjected to regular higher temperatures(>40 degrees Celsius it will start to form copper inside of the battery and will increase its self discharge significantly) it will go down in an less than an year.
Some custom kernels - like moun kernel - have fast charge enabled.
Speed up is not rly high.

Thanks, I'll look into it!
Quick Charge cannot be enabled( or shouldn't be ) on MI A1
Firstly let me clarify, I'm using RR ROM which has Moun Kernel by default, it has USB Fast Charge which is not to be confused with Qcom Quick Charge because it means it will Fast Charge( @10watts ) when on USB, that is plugged on a computer. On Stock ROM it charges very slowly when on USB.
Talking about Qcom Quick Charge, though sd 625 supports it, other hardware such as the battery isnt built to support higher voltages which can potentially damage the phone.
So no Quick Charge on MI A1

MiA1 has 3000mAh and supplied [email protected] charger gives 2A only! (I actually do get 2A charging up to 80% SoC).
Therefore, the MiA1 charging is at 2/3 = 0.67C and NOT 1.5C as you state.
For 0.67C, the time for 70% charging is 0.70/0.67 = 1.045hr = 63mins, which I'm getting in practice.
For 1.5C, 70% charging will be in 0.70/1.5 = 28mins!! Not just possible. Nobody, who tried fast charging using higher than 10W charger, has reported anywhere except slight decrease in charging time (for 70% charge).
The LiPo Battery in MiA1 is BN31. There may be a max charging current limitation circuit in BN31. I read somewhere (lost the reference, unable to find again) that 2.2A is the max limit.
In that case we get 0.73C and time for 70% charge will be 0.7/0.73 = 58mins. This HAS been reported using [email protected] at 3A. (BN31 allowing only 2.2A).
Add on Update:
There is one report on slightly faster charging of BN31. The max charging current is estimated to be 2.485A that is at 0.828C.
MiA1 got 0-100% charged in 92mins using One Plus' Dash Charger (not the charger provided which charges at 0.67). This is reported by TelecomTalk.
This is 24% faster than normal.

You're right that the stock charging rate is 0.67C which is a very moderate charging rate. No idea why the battery still heats up noticeably sometimes during charging. There was a change in the charging icon I think for the Oreo update which gave the erroneous impression that fast charging (>10W) was supported and people started (wrongly) reporting decreased charging times fueling the myth.
I'm using crDroid rom . For about a week im using the adapter of pocophone F1 in my RN7 for fast charging! But i noticed its causing me fast battery drain at stand by mode.
for example after full charge i got 1 hour sot and 8 hours of idle .
is it the adapter? should i use that or not?
NB: i didnt installed any new app or anything since i moved to poco f1s adapter from the orginal one!
I'm using my ZeroLemon powerbank with QC 3.0 support & Anker charger (QC 3.0 too) and have no such problem. I recommend you to charge your phone using original charger, because this atypical behavior could have side effects. Also, check out battery drain information — this may be caused not by charger change but by latest buggy Google Services update, if this app is at the very top of your battery drain graphic.
To power up, you consume Red Bull. But your phone just needs its adaptive fast charger. Rate this thread to express how quickly the LG G8X ThinQ can charge. A higher rating indicates that it charges extremely fast.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
QC 3 is great, I dont use the wireless charging.
I'm honestly pretty disappointed with the quick charging speed. I had the Essential phone before this and loved the 27w fast charging with USB PD. The G8X charges really slow in comparison. I've tried QC 3.0 adapters and USB PD adapters and just can't find something that I would call "quick" by today's standards.
im using a xiaomi remi note 8 pro charger to quick charge, the one in the box doesn't give me "Fast charge" icon
using the stock usb-c charger, I get pretty good fast charge. wireless is a bit slower but I use it to avoid fast charge anyway to preserve the battery health.

I agree. It is unstable charging. In my cause power ( A) is jumping, also QC3/unknow is swapping very ofter. Just connect USB meter. Strange. There is an option for save charge, but On/Off causes no difference to me.
ive tried 5 different chargers but this phone does not charge more than 10w on any chargers QC 2.0, 3.0 AND 4.0+ usb AtoC CtoC tested on usb tester. it will spike to 13w maximum then go stable 10w all the way. Can anybody test on their phone to confirm this? ive tried these chargers on xiaomi and realme phone they would charge upto 17w
Lg g8x charging speed
Tried every charger starting from 15W and up to 40W. QC 3.0 to 4+, Dash charge, Warp charge, Super charge, Adaptive Fast charge. 0 to 100% takes 2 hr 12 min.
LG g8x refuses to charge faster with any of them. When world moves to faster charging protocols incl. long hesitant apple for iPhone, LG does the opposite. LG and Qualcomm mentions that QC 4.0 supported in their official websites which should support 27 W, but with any charger phone accepts max. of 13 W in my testing.
I have been using LG phones for long only because of quad DAC. For people like me who wants to support LG, this slow charging is a real issue.
I understand that V60 comes with 25W qc 4.0 inbox charger which charges 0 to 100% in around 1 hr 45 min for 5000 mAh battery as per YouTube reviews.
Now the only question left for me is that can 25W V60 charger be used to charge g8x battery of 4000 mAh in 1 hr 30 min. Has anyone tried charging g8x with V60 charger? If so, can some post changing time.
I would really like someone to use Mi Pocket Powerbank Pro available in India a 22.5 W Quickcharge (don't know which Qualcomm level, guessing QC3) powerbank specifically using a super high quality cable either the Blauplunkt Flat USB 2 to type C or the Ikea Type C to Type C cable using the type C Power Delivery (PD) output port of this powerbank which I believe would be the topmost setup ever for charging this device. Is the Max fastcharge rating 18w of this device?? As such I did not even mention Redmi 30w powerbank. Which is the QC4 power adaptor or powerbank which can be bought in India?
If rooted you can get fast charging via a magisk module. It charges fast even with screen on... Which is what annoys me about the phones that restrict it to approx 1000. They still limit temperature to 46C
Turbo is 2750mah, super turbo is 3000mah
Normal is 2450mah and 45C limit.
Also recommend the intelligent power control magisk module, better than acc. I'm using 90 max 86 back on. Works great!

It helps where keeping the screen on, the charging speed is not reduced. Before this, keeping the screen on would reduce the charge rate a lot.
Now I'm on s21 and they severely limit charge rate once the battery reaches 37C.
