Where to find wpa_supplicant on yotaphone? - YotaPhone

Since I got no answer to my eap sim problem... My previou yd206 yota was enabled, the yd201 I have is not. No wifi access at home, need to find free wifi somewhere...
Is there a way to access that wpa_supplicant.conf file? Searching and exploring through several file managers gave nothing...
Does it even exist on that phone?
Via root or not?
I'm absolutely no expert in that kind of stuff...

need help after installing xda developers ROM

I installed the XDA developers ROM, and everything is ok except the internet connection through GPRS. I wrote he APN that my provider gave me, (Orange-Isral) is "internet.orange.net.il". No other settings. I can connect to the internet and send and receive emails, but I can't browse in internet explorer neither in the ftxpbrowser. Before the upgrade it worked fine. Also before the upgrade, every time I click on an internet link the QTEK eould connect to the ne. Now it doesn't. Any idea what am I doing wrong? Someone had experience similar probems? Thanks.
Connection settings didn't worked for me too after I flashed the original developers ROM. Even worse after the second and the third re-flashing - autoconfig just wouldn't work at all.
I "fixed" the problem simply removing "operators" section from the mkrom shell script and configured everithing manually then. Of course you'll need to build the ROM yourself. But it's also a great fun.
One problem with the current version of mkrom, is that it may put the operator rom after 81bc0000 if you have too many files in 'files1' ( and then autoconfig.exe cannot find it anymore ).
the lost connection settings probably have something to do with 'defaultconfig.xml' ( which I currently ignore ). I have to fix our own welcome.exe to process that too.
expect an update with many problems fixed soon.
If I reflash the original qyek version or the 4.17 UK O2, would zi be able to connect again?
I flashed the devolopers rom but cant browse the internet...My email and msn are fine just no web access i am on vodafone and i configure my own settings.
Have just used adaptrom to flash back to 3-17-03 awaiting any updates on devolepers rom, It was very good to say the least just i need mobile ie.
I will have a play at the weekend.
Same here. I flashed the ROM on a US T-Mobile unit, and can't surf with ie. Thunderhawk works, but ie is crippled. That defaultconfig.xml file needs to be executed. Is ther any way to execute it manually :?
Thanks.
Have you execute autoconfig.xml file??
I have the same problem, I have put my autoconfig.xml file on the ROM but don't update nothing....
have any one try it....to set connection, favorites on Internet Explorer etc...
I have found defaultconfig.xml file on my Qtek 2020 on \Windows
directory but If I change file for example to add favorites to Favorites Explorer this don't appends ..
anyone have the solution for this problem???
please...

Modem Link problems

I have an unlocked MDA i'm using on at&t, i am having troubles trying to use modem link on it, it has tmobile 2.26 rom on it, but when i try to use modem link i can't change the access point name, it says wap.voicestream.com and gives me no other options, nor does it give me the option to add a new access point. Internet, MMS, SMS all work fine, just unable to use modem link. Also i can't get the computer to recognize it as new hardware even when i activate modem link as voicestream.com. Is there something in the registry that i need to change like i had to in order to remove the grayed out portions on MMS settings? Sorry for the long post, i'm still kinda new to the whole wizard game, but i must say this site is a wealth of knowledge. Thanks for any help you can provide.

using ad-hoc wifi?

hey guys, i've always wanted to use my phone with the ad-hoc wifi network i've set up with my pc...
i was googling for a solution and i found this in another forum:
This can be done by modifying /system/etc/wifi/tiwlan.ini
WiFiAdhoc = 1
dot11DesiredSSID = HTCG1Default
dot11DesiredBSSType = 0
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
thanks to the root a few days ago, doing this is now possible... however, i dont understand how do i access , edit and save the tiwlan.ini file?

[Q] How to WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS in a rooted device?

Hi folks,
I'm looking for a solution to a problem I found in one of my software.
I use the phone as a standalone datacollector. He is sent to one location and nobody sees or interacts with it.
I found it interesting to use Android, because it is reliable and easy to program, in addition to the hardware features necessary for my application.
I have 200 Galaxy S5 devices for that application.
The problem is that from time to time some of them decide to lose contact with the modem / SIM card.
The only solution I found is to turn off and on the data connection. The problem is that even with the rooted device in and asking for permission to manifest for android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS, when I try to change the data connection, I get a system message saying that I'm not allowed.
What should I do? Has anyone tried any solution for this?
I heard that I need to have the signature of the phone's firmware to be able to sign my software with the same key. Really?
Please do not suggest changing the APN settings to turn off and on phone data. This does not solve my problem... i`ve tried.
Thank you!
Many setprop as a terminal command or some how edit the database in settings provider
great idea, but how do you think i'll be able to tell the system that i've changed the file or the database? a reset?
