hey guys, i've always wanted to use my phone with the ad-hoc wifi network i've set up with my pc...
i was googling for a solution and i found this in another forum:
This can be done by modifying /system/etc/wifi/tiwlan.ini
WiFiAdhoc = 1
dot11DesiredSSID = HTCG1Default
dot11DesiredBSSType = 0

Hey folks, quick question:
At some point in the last couple of months, after fiddling with the registry to figure out how to get aGPS working with cell-IDs... I seem to have "lost" my iPAQ File Store. I didn't really use it for much, but it is screwing up my SPB Mobile Shell file explorer now that it's missing.
Anyone know a quick fix to get it to show up again? I don't even care about the files that were in it before, I just want it to show up as a folder/option in my file explorer again...

I have no solution for your problem...
But can you tell us anyway how you managed to get the cell-id stuff working?

I haven't gotten it working yet.
try check for your reg on the following key (or similiar):
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\TRUEFFS_DOC2\FATFS]
"MountAsBootable"=dword:1
"MountAsRoot"=dword:1
"MountAsRom"=dword:0
"MountAsHidden"=dword:0
"Folder"="Flash Disk"
"Folder"="iPAQ File Store"
"Name"="FLASH Disk Block Device"
If it isn't there, should I try and add that registry entry?
somebody found the way to fix this issue? thanks

Can you connect through WiFi somewhere. Even in internet cafe or McDonalds?!
It's worth the effort, the program solved a similar problem I had.
I've updated my post and added APN B&R software. So you can download it. I think if you put it into AndroidApps folder on your SD card (its located in the same folder which contains you system.ext2 and other files) it should be installed automatically when you boot Android.

Hi,
after update my Iconia A500 to 3.1 for two days everything going well. But today morning i can`t connect to any wifi. Problem is wifi still reconnecting again and again. If i manualy setup IP, GW and DNS its OK and i have connect.
I tried 3 same wifi routers like days before.
What could be a problem?
thx for help
EDIT> Problem solved. I deleted dhcpd-wlan0.lease in data/misc/dhcp/

The file will be recreated as soon as you turn On/Off the wifi again.
Just repeat a few times if you don't see the file and then delete it again.
hi,
I had the same problem on my Iconia Tab.
There's an easy way to repair it: Just hit the "Reset" button -on the left of the USB-Port- once.
It does restart. After that restart, all my stuff were still on the Tab! And the Wifi works too!
I'm not sure if this work on any IconiaTab A500, make sure you make a full Backup!

Hi there, I'm trying to delete that file myself. But when I enter the /data directory I find there is nothing there. How did you see the file in order to delete it?
Cheers

Go to the Acer website and download the fix. Had the same issue would do a paperclip reset and would fix for a few days and end up with same issue. Downloaded the fix from Acer and have not had anymore issues since then.

Philippines. What do you mean by partition? I'm kinda new to this so i don't really know much. and don't think I'm using any recovery ?
still need help
set dns 1 to 8.8.8.8 and dns 2 to 8.8.4.4 in build.prop located in /system/
edit it using any root explorer.
doesn't that change the wifi settings and not the 3G settings?
does data work if you use a different rom ?
It used to work when i switched it back to WinMo. But now even on WinMo or Android Data Access doesn't work
Managed to fix my WinMo settings so I have data on WInMo, but still no luck on Android
and have you tried a different android build?
tried 2 different well known builds. still no luck
Since I got no answer to my eap sim problem... My previou yd206 yota was enabled, the yd201 I have is not. No wifi access at home, need to find free wifi somewhere...
Is there a way to access that wpa_supplicant.conf file? Searching and exploring through several file managers gave nothing...
Does it even exist on that phone?
Via root or not?
I'm absolutely no expert in that kind of stuff...
