Moto E4 (Boost/Qualcomm) support Quick Charge? - Moto E4 Questions & Answers

I just got a Moto E4 from Boost Mobile as a secondary device behind my Galaxy Note8 and noticed that the Moto doesn't indicate any sort of Fast Charging option. Being a Qualcomm device, I would expect it should support at least Quick Charge 2.0 and some sources online suggest it does, but Android doesn't seem to indicate if Fast Charging/Turbopower/Quick Charge is actually being used or not.
Does this device support Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 or 3.0? Is there some hidden setting to enable it?

[Q] (Q) Quick Charge 2.0

I've searched and google searched. Can't find any discussions or current kernels supporting quick charge 2.0. I just received my s5 yesterday and assumed someone would have figured out how to enable our qualcom chip for quick charging... Am I missing something or is this not possible?
Thanks!

Maybe I need to clarify... I understand the S5 isn't quick charge capable out of the box for some reason, but the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chip is supposed to be capable(quotes below). If we're rooted and are able to use modified/custom kernels, is there some reason we haven't enabled quick charge? I saw one kernel that is supposedly dead which had supported "fast charging". I found only one other kernel, which listed nothing about fast charging or quick charging. I've already read all of those google search links which are old and have some reference for the ability(below quote). According to another post on XDA, a Japanese carrier has enabled it...
XDA member timeToy:
" Quick charge 2.0 feature itself is part of the Snapdragon 801 CPU https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/processors/801
DoCoMo (Japan carrier) has officially enabled the Quick Charge 2.0 on their handsets, including the Galaxy S5. The power adapter is for sure different, and I am not aware of any firmware change."
"Despite the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900V) CPU (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801) being listed as Quick Charge 2.0 capable on Qualcomm’s site and claims to that effect on various blogs, the phone doesn’t support the charging standard in testing."

I see your point now.
But is QC2 really that much faster than USB 3.0 charging? Doesn't seem so, so maybe it's just not worth it for developers, if it's actually capable...

QC 2.0 is supposed to charge a 3300mA battery 0% to 60% in 30mins... I haven't tested USB 3.0 charge times since I received yesterday, but I'm guessing it's not as fast. What's your round about charge time?
I'll test charge time with OEM cable to USB 3.0 on my computer and using the OEM cable and wall charger and see what I get.

with USB3.0, my S5 charges at about the speed advertised for QC2. It's a wash man, just let it go...

[Q] How to make phone take more intensity.

Hello everyone,
my phone is charging with only max 1A, when my charger gives more power. How to remove limit in my phone to get more intensity?
I don't think it is possible. The charging circuit within the phone only lets 1 amp in.
Fast Charge is a hardware limit too?

I am not really sure but it can be managed in the kernel if the hardware supports and fast charging is not supported by this phone. Btw Im not 100% sure
I believe the feature has to be in the SoC, as well as implemented in the kernel for it to work. I know with the Redmi Note 3 quick charging was not supported in the original firmware, but since the Snapdragon 650 supported QC 2, custom kernels were able to use it. The Snapdragon 410 doesn't have quick charge capability to my knowledge.
EDIT
It appears the 410 does support quick charging, and the OEM has to support it. Wether that means A software or hardware implementation, I'm not sure. So maybe it is possible for a custom kernel to implement the feature. But there is not any kernel I know of right now that allows it

Does Redmi 3s support Quick Charge?

The Xiaomi India website doesn't mentions that it supports Qualcomm Quick Charge but there are some people who are saying that it supports Q.C. 1.0/2.0 and some even saying that it supports 3.0.
And the Xiaomi website states that “[it] Comes with 5V/2A quick charging to charge and go with minimal downtime.”. Interestingly enough, Quick Charge 1.0 also charges at 5V/2A.
Has anyone tried charging with Qualcomm Certified chargers and is there any long term issue like battery inflating, poor battery backup, etc?
And if it does work then what are the things I should be looking in a charger when buying apart from Qualcomm certified chargers?
The soc of our device does support quick charge, but to enable it, we need a suitable kernel
I think it's enabled on MIUI developer rom.

Yes. Some say that latest beta update miui 8.2.5 has total charging period of 2.5hr.
As per the super moderator in MIUI forum the Dev rom supports QC 2.0 and charging time is less than 2 Hrs.

Quick Charge Oreo Update

Hello, i have an aukey usb quick charge 3 charger and now that i have a new xiaomi mi a1 i bought a nillkin usb type c 3.0 quick charge cable.
Even tho i have a charger and a data cable compatible with quick charge, when i charge it says "charging", not fast charging, i don't even sense a notisable decrease of charging time.
So i am doing somethong wrong? It is suppose that with oreo update quick charge is aviable on the mi a1.
tired reply , please search.
The 'fast charging' message was a bug. Congrats. U just waste money
Sad to break it to you, but the phone doesn't support Quick Charge 3.0
Who except pajeet analphabete on Indian blog said it was supposed to get QC?
I've read that one of the Oreo beta builds had quick charging enabled by mistake and Xiaomi removed it later, this is when/where rumors started. No idea if that's true though..
There is a quite big difference between "fast charge" and "quick charge" (by qualcomm). Quick Charge will not be enabled on those phones as qualcomm wants money for each device that uses it. However in oreo we have "fast charge" enabled.... also to have quick charge you'll need charger that has the qualcomm chip in it... and for the fast charge again you'll need charger that supports fast charge(basically that it is more powerful - 34W and up).
And remember it is android one device so it is as close to the aosp as possible and many of the settings are up to google to change (like the cam api 2)
I don't get the fuss around this "fast" charge "enabled" thingy. I'm using a nexus 5x charger since day 0 (back when only displayed "charging") because i've bought it as a replacement for my nexus 5x.
So, the output of the 5x charger has 3A . Now pay attention, the A1 (at least mine and i don't think i got a special edition) was charging with 2A out of the box (nougat) and also after oreo update, period.
Mi a1 does have sd625 which supports fast charging but xiaomi hasnt enabled it cause enabling that will make xiaomi pay some loyalty to snapdragon. So they didn't enable it. NO FAST CHARGING ON MI A1
This thread reminds me of countles indian videos trying to prove redmi phones support fast charging by comparing charging speeds between stock 1A chargers an qc2/3 ones. Good stuff
With custom roms and root, could you re-enable it? Yes.

Redmi note 5 has the icon of fast charging with micro usb, but Mi A1 with usb C does not, lol. My phone Mi A1 charges fully within 1 hour from 1%(would say... 40min) with an aukey QC 3.0 and a blitzwolf amp usb cable.

Don't worry about people bragging ie lying about how their phones charge up faster with quick charge. Or some sort of forced charging is going on which isn't good for the lifespan of the battery. Samsung allows users to turn off fast charging in the settings to reduce excessive heat which says something about fast charging.
So you guys are saying it doesn't support Quick Charge™. But I just downloaded CPU-Z for fun and it read the fact that the MI A1 - My unit at least runs Snapdragon 626 as opposed to what GSMArena says (625) and according to this article it is supposed to support it. I don't have a fast enough charger - Never thought I'd need one since the phone supposedly doesn't support fast charging, but if it runs 626 it might. If I can edit this post I'll add a screenshot from the phone in a moment.
Can't seem to add the screen shot, so here's the link to it:

yes. I'm using a motorola turbo power charger and a magisk module 'force fast charge'. getting ~2000mA.
The phone has the available hardware for fast charging but xiaomi disabled it, it should be coming soon in oreo or pie

I tried that module, but don't see any difference. Plus, I don't see the force fast charge folder in solid explorer anywhere!

Quick charger for Nokia 6.1 plus / Nokia X6

I know the SoC supports Quick Charge 3.0 but the the charger bundled is normal one. Coming from a Moto device with turbo charger, the nokia chargers so slow and really gets on my nerves. Can someone confirm if the device supports QC 3.0.
Also, if someone is already using different charger, how much difference does it make?
