I have some problem at flashing my Z00L smartphone . When I flash my custom rom (LineageOS 15 , AOSPExtended Android 8 / 8.1) and GAPPS , it fails every time , ended with bootloop.
(I wiped Data , Internal Storage , System , Cache , Boot every time before flashing custom rom)
Sometimes it just only display ASUS boot screen, and reboot , sometimes it boot into lineageos boot screen (two big blue dots) for about 2 seconds then reboot.
I saw many people said they had flash custom rom successfully , but my phone fails every time , can someone help me with my question? Thank you so much !
PS. Sorry for my poor grammer :crying:
Try any nougat ROM..
after installing any custom rom
go to mount mark on system
and go twrp file manager on setting
system>etc>firmware and delete the first three folders i don't remember it's name
enjoy your rom <3

I've found and tried lots of methods, and only this one works for me (Nougat/Oreo). Thank you so much!
Btw, the first three directories in /system/etc/firmware are '8916_volte_modem', '8936_volte_modem' and '8939_ZD550KL_volte_modem' (sometime not existed).
In my case, the processor of my device is msm8936 (Snapdragon 610), so I just delete '8936_volte_modem' and it also works.
OMG!!! I thought the motherboard of my phone was faulty. I've been findling this phone for two days already. Thank you @patrapatra. You saved my life.

Hi Guru's ,
Sounding verry n00bish yes but halp needed
my HTC TYTN II had no secrets anymore for me so it was time to upgrade
I read up on kernels flashing etc and then descided to get on it
got Odin , insecure kernel (CF-Root 4.0.0.2) , and a rom (was villain 3.0)
did it all correct , kernel ok , yellow triangle and original os booted up ok
CWM , clear all and reset etc , install zip , succesfully and reboot
sticks in reboot , endless yellow triangle ...
oh wel , np , i'll redo it from original
all steps ok untill other rom , bam , stuck in boot
crap , so , again
I now descided to go for the CM 7.1 that was just launched "stable"
Other CWM and kernel from their Wiki , gives me a insecure boot (triangle) to original and ok
into CWM (4.0.1.5) , all steps again , install zip from sd card , no zip (while its on for sure !)
formatted all known formats and put zip on , doesn't see it
was pissed like **** then and re-done it serveral times , no go
tried , from stock again and again to get it working
and found the intermediate problem , CWM 4.0.1.5 !
did the >CF rooot 4.0.0.2 etc and found the zip on card that 4.0.1.5 didn't never see (wtf ?)
tried CM 7.1 then , succesfully ... reboot , nope stays booting yellow triangle
tried 2 other rom's then and a nightly CM 7.1 with the CF-root also , no show
what am I doing wrong , does anyone recognise this ?
and maybe this post is better to be in Q&A I now think
Welcome to the S2 community
So, CM 7.1 sitting on yellow triangle happened to me too, be sure to:
from clockworkmod recovery:
Wipe data/cache (factory reset)
Wipe cache
advanced -> wipe dalvik cache
mount & Storage -> format system
Then flash cm 7.1 again.
If it still sit down on yellow triangle, redo all the above, yes also the flashing (for the 2nd time in a row, i know) , and usually it will finally reboot in a working CM 7.1
Let me know if this helped or not
And yes, better in Q&A
Thx for the welcome
Let me go and redo this exactly as you said right now

yes, As For my above instructions, seems for some reason 2x flash in a row are needed. But from when i format system, it works in a single flash
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Yup, definitely need to flash the CM7 package twice in a row. My trick is to flash it once, then reboot into CWM again and flash the package again! Hope it all goes well for you.
I can happely confirm doing it all twice exactly in a row does the trick
Cm 7.1 (nightly 82) running smoothly
Can anyone confirm my idea on following :
when I start configuring contacts mailsettings etc and save then
Then do a nandroid backup (via cwm the same ???)
And I put a new rom or newer version of rom on it
If I restore , does it restore everything as a "mirror" or just the settings i made
If everything , is there a program that does what I mentioned (just the personal settings mailsettings ed ?
If you backup your ROM using CWM Nandroid recovery (booted using the volume up + home + power button combo), you will have a mirror image of everything on your phone right now. A Titanium Backup is useful if you were to transfer your user apps from one ROM to another after a full wipe; wise to do a full wipe moving from a different ROM to another.
You can restore your CWM Nandroid backup in case anything happens.
Another point I would like to add is if you are updating from an earlier version of CM7, you can just flash the upate package without any wipe. You will not loose data in the process.

you have the pink screen? The best way to check is to remove the battery and the External SD card. Then plug in the power USB cable, press POWER and VOLUME DOWN button together. If the pink screen comes on then i think there is a chance.

you are not alone in this case. Even I have the same problem. I think the files from Huawei are corrupted. What I do is after installing the ORIGINAL ROM for the first time, at the FIRST BOOT, i use the program "Super One Click" to root the phone, and then install the apks so that i can quickly change the recovery.img to TCRW and then proceed to install the custom ROM of my choice.
I really suggest you go for Miui / Aurora (both are ICS) as the Jelly Bean custom ROMs are just way too buggy.

sir, i need a working stock partition zip file. have u partition/re-partitioning ur internal sd card sir ?>

best to go here. It has both the files you need. I would recommend Forumber's partition.zip.
Go to recovery
Flash forumber's partition.zip
reboot recovery
flash forumber's partition.zip again
reboot recoery
delete the cache, system, data
reboot recovery
install custom rom
reboot into custom ROM (first boot)
WIN!

Hey,hey,hey
Did you facing error while installing Full Gapps or Stock Gapps? which says installing gapps error because not enough system partition size.
Yes,i'm facing that bug too,but i have a solution for this issue. That bug can be happen because after flashing any Oreo ROM your system partition become smaller, sure that is not normal.
To fix this you need to "resize" your system partition. I almost resize my system partition using an "Extreme Way!" and if i do that maybe my phone goes bricked. Thanks to god i can found what the problem after try "try and error" method so it can be said, this solution I found because of accident.Ok enough
Ok this the simple method.
1. Download Flashable Busybox by @YashdSaraf https://sourceforge.net/projects/busybox-yds/files/Sep-06-17/Busybox-1.27.2-YDS-UNIVERSAL.zip/download original thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/tool-busybox-flashable-archs-t3348543
2. Flash your Oreo Custom ROM
3. Flash the flashable busybox.
4. Go to Wipe option
5. Check "system" partition
6. Press Advance Option > press "Resize" (don't worry, you don't need to reflash the rom)
7. Go to Wipe option again
8. Check "system" partition again
9. Press Advance Option > press "Repair"
10. Then, install the GAPPS ,and you can bit this Oreo with GAPPS berry Jam.
This method work perfectly for me.
This should work on Z00L and Z00T :good:
error 1 when repairing the partition. But it still worked. Thanks

Bro....I just test it and yes you have to de this everytime when you installing oreo....and I didn't flash the busybox....but I successfully resize it.....then the question is what's for the busybox is??
Doing this every installing oreo is,yes...
I think, cannot resize partition is only happened when upgrading Nougat to Oreo ,because every changing an oreo rom to another oreo rom,I dont have to install busybox again..
Busybox...mmmmm try flashing oreo rom after a nougat one, then resize Partition you will facing an error code on twrp say "resize error blablablabla" (or another,im forget what it say) ,for that,im thinking why i cannot resize the partition,While still in nougat I still can resize partition without any problem..And as you know, busybox contains a number of commands that can run in the terminal, and "resizing command" is contained within the busybox ..
Oh,im not responsible with any error after trying this method,But all this time I have never experienced any errors because this method..
Im still a newbie on android,i dont have a lot experience on android..As I said ,i found this method by trying "try and error" method, trying installing nougat first then oreo, trying installing boot.img first then oreo, and much more attempt..and i still got same error hahaha.. frustrated because cannot installing large gapps..
Then i found this method, just try this method and tell me if you found an error after trying this method..
But I can be sure it will not happen just because resize the partition, because resizing partition here instead of changing the size of partition system becomes bigger,Resize here only returns the size of the corrupted partition system
i got an error when resizing and repairing on my lg v20 h918, I still followed steps and ended up with the error after gapp installation. I am back to a blinking black screen after the lg logo. I think my phone is a lost cause.
Hi, I just get this phone in the latest update and wanna use custom rom on it.

I have Install Liniange Os and CrDroid but they did'nt First Boot for Agesssssssssss Like OVERNIGHT can anyone help ( I have :
1.wiped EVERYthing (cache etc.)
2.Re flashed both of them)
Or can anyone send Stock ROM
Okay , flashing instructions:
When you go to TWRP, go to the "Wipe" section
At the wipe section, click:
System
Cache
Data
Dalvik / ART cache
And swipe.
After that , YOU DON'T NEED TO INSTALL BOTH ROMS!
Install only one. For example, install LineageOS. You don't need to install both of them.
After you flashed LineageOS, reboot, and it should boot in ~10 mins
