I've CyanogenMod 11 M7 installed on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005 (international). I have installed the newest version of the Google Search App and the Google Now Launcher as well. Google Now and the hotword detection are activated. But the hotword detection 'OK Google' does not work.
Is there no support for this in CM11? If not in general, is it not supported in CM11 for the Galaxy Note 3?
I've tried different workarounds. Usually I use Nova Launcher. As of late it supports the hotword detection as well. I thought maybe the feature is buggy. So I tried it with Trebuchet and Google Now Launcher. Both didn't work. It also doesn't work in the Google App itself!
I've configured my system in german. Usually voice input and also the hotword detection should work in german as well. Again I thought maybe it's buggy and switched to english (US). It didn't work.
I also never saw the prompt for the hotword in the Google search bar.
I use Xposed Framework with a module called Xprivacy. With Xprivacy one can restrict permissions for Apps, including access to media, like the camera and microphone. I thought this could be a reason, but I haven't restricted media for the Google Search App, Google Now Launcher and Nova Launcher. Can Xprivacy be a problem anyway?
Does anyone have the same problem? Does anyone know how to fix this?

The matter has sorted itself out. I got an update of the Google Search App today, now it works! :victory: :fingers-crossed:
It seams that this was a bug. I still don't see the prompt for the hotword in the Google search bar, but maybe this is another tiny bug and doesn't bother me.
I've still configured my system in german. Hotword detection works in the Google Search App, Google Now Launcher and even Nova Launcher! It doesn't work in Trebuchet, but one could assume that.
Anyway, thanks to everyone who contemplated about the case.
I have some more interesting information.
Because hotword detection didn't work again, I dealt with the topic again.
It seems that it wasn't a bug. I used Titanium Backup to integrate updates of system apps into the system. I don't know why , but obviously this caused the problem.
So I completely uninstalled the app using Titanium Backup and installed it again via the Play Store. Now hotword detection works again.
So if you have the same problem, do not integrate the newest version of the app into the system, or if you don't have it installed, simply install it via the Play Store and you should be fine. :good:

Hey guys
I like the moto voice trick but I find google app voice commands to be more responsive and especiallly working better offline I mean for exemple I wasn't able to set alarm offline in moto app while I could in google app
But "Ok google" won't work while the screen is locked so is there anyway to make it work while device is locked or to make moto app work better offline?? Thx in advance
the option is built into settinga to make google now work at the lock screen. If you meant screen off, googling for ok google screen off and installing the first result (the app) gets you there
Hello, I can't use the finger print sensor to sign in apps or remember passwords on the browser (I use chrome) ... I used to have a Galaxy S6 and it automaticaly asked me If I'd like to use the sensor for this even at the apps or the browser ... but G4 don't.. can anybody help me with that? thanks
Is it even the same kind of sensor? I have not heard of it before. Seems cool though. Maybe a samsung specific feature?
I am hoping some of you may be able to help me out. i am having some really odd issues after updating my Verizon S7 to Nougat. here they are.....
1) gBoard - when I activate the google keyboard, it is unusable. i see the keyboard...but the phone does not register my touch inputs. the rest of the screen recognizes my inputs...but the keyboard is dead. so i have to use the samsung keyboard. it works fine. but i prefer the gboard.
2) google sheets - i am unable to edit cells. i can scorll around in a spreadsheet, but when i tap to edit a cell...nothing happens.
3) autonotification - it seems that some of the takser profiles i have set to use autonotificaitons have stopped working.
thanks in advance!!

Do you have G-Board turned on as your default? I use it without issue on my phone with Nougat, so it's not a Nougat or S7 issue.
As for the others, I rarely use Sheets and don't use Tasker, so I can't comment on those issues.
i also noticed i can not input text into Google Keep. so it looks like i have no ability to input into any google apps (except gmail).
SOLVED
I finally figured out what the issue was. Hopefully this may help somone in the future.
The issue related to the Explore By Touch feature in Talkback. I had two services turned on in the Accessibility section of the phone's settings menu. When enabled, these two services activated the Explore By Touch feature in Talkback which prevented input into gBoard and google sheets. To solve the issue, I disabled Talkback using Package Disabler Pro. the two services causing the issue were AutoInput and Optical Reader. I have enabled AutoInput but not Optical Reader. This combined with disabling Talkback has resolved my issue. i am now able to use gBoard and google sheets.
I hope this info helps you as well.
thanks.
I'd like to use Smart lock but it's not available in the menus. I read some solutions that require rooting that I don't want to make because I'm warried about the issues with Google Pay and some bank's apps not working anymore after rooting.
So, is there a way to have Smart lock back?!?
Thanks in advance

Can you please point out to any (working) solution that requires root - but without the usage of any kind of Xposed (only Xposed is a threat for Google services but I doubt that even Xposed could make it really working).
With root, you can install:
[ROOT] Smart Lock Launcher - S - Apps on Google Play
[ROOT REQUIRED] A small shortcut to open Google's Smart Lock settings.
play.google.com
and get the menus and setup Smart llck, but no avail since Trusted places, Trusted devices (except maybe for Xiaomi BT devices) and On body detection will not work
I.e., I have root and just reinstalled Smart Lock Launcher (for the purpose of screenshots below) but I'd like to see how to make Smart Lock options really working. A year ago I spent quite a time, searching through forums for various other Xiaomi devices, but no avail
It only worked (with Smart Lock launcher I got it working) with one of Xiaomi eu weeklies, but since the next week, it was (most likely, intentionally) disabled

I referred exactly to that app that I haven't tested because I've no root but I thought it was working. Thanks to you, I realize now that it's not the solution as well.
I'm really disappointed because of the unavailability of the Smart lock that I miss a lot when I'm home and working.

Added two more screenshots above, I just setup again Trusted places and On body detection, then locked the screen - but on turning the screen on it still asks me for finger or pin (although both rules for Trusted places and On body detection should have been kicked off and automatically unlocked my Mi 9T)
Currently on Xiaomi.eu, A11 beta, 21.3.18

Thanks zgfg, you saved me from a useless rooting of the phone.
I really don't understand. What's the matter?!? Does Xiamoi care about the issue? Is there a plan to fix it in the future?
