S7 edge Weird capacitive button - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Guys want to hear some advice, here is my info on my s7e
Sm g935fd(south east asia)
Not rooted and knox not tripped
Since day 1 im using a cheap jelly case cause s7e is slippery, then about 2days ago i removed the jelly case cause i want s7e design naked, after a day last, recent button automatically presses and gone wild,im not using my phone in water nor getting it wet,i troubleshoot, wipe cache, safe mode, check tsp version it is fine,my suspect is sweat in my hands, though it is not excessive, then i also kept it in rice of bag for 12,then it become ok,but after an hour problem back again, then put it in bag of rice again and put back the jelly case it became ok,5hrs now still the problem doesnt back/show again
What do you think guys?

[Q] Help plzz

I admit I was really sttupid, but my Galaxy Y came in the water path of a garden watering hose, for a couple of seconds. I immediately retrieved it, and rubbed it dry(The outsides that is),and since it seemed to work fine at that moment, I dint think of taking any further action. After 2 hours however, I noticed that it had gone OFF, and I wasnt able to switch it on acain. I then removed the Sim card, SD card, and battery, and held it in mild heat(from a laptop heat vent) for a few minutes. After that, the phone started, and worked normally for a couple of minutes, though there were evident water patches on the screen. Then it went OFF again. I googled it, and now, trying to make amends, ive put the phone in a bowl of uncooked rice. I feel really stupid. What my next ste should be, as I need to get this phone into working order (wont be able to afford a new phone as of now) Kindly advice.
Pack a phone into air tight bag with uncooked rice I knw it sounds stupid but my friend did n aftr that his phone was like before
Try if it works
If I have helped you hit the thanx button

I confirm that inserting it in a small food container full of uncooked rice works as it helps it dry out faster. Mine was dropped in a bowl of water and after 5 days in the container, it's working perfectly fine today as nothing ever happened.
And remember:
NEVER turn a phone on while its wet, it could short circuit.

Yes u revert stupid eople
Jk it ould happen to anyone
Actually there is no solution for this it all depends on luck
Just keep doing whatever u revert doing now
If it doesn't work and if all traces of water are removed
Just go to Samsung service center ans only say
"Sirhone is not booting up, night it was OK morning its not booting"
Lol
And try to get it repaired using Warrenty (it its still there)
don't mension anything about water
Remove the battery..connect it to charger...if it works..change battery..
My previous phone got wet in a water ride i was having...believe me..this worked...my battery was dead..nt phone..
** rooting is new for me,
nd i am a noob to root....**
Shouldnt have turned it on but simply disassemble and place in rice DONT USE HAIR DRYER and leave for a while the rice will absorb the water

HELP!! SOS!! Black screen by isopropyl Alcohol(99%)

PS: you can skip this deatils to my main problem
Somebody pls help me
my galaxy note 3 was water damaged nearly an year ago. But i was able to recover at that time by using isopropanol(99%).
In Detail: After water damage i loosed all hope for around 2 days, then outtanowhere i got this solution over the internet and then i submerged my phone's green board into that alcohol and then in rice. Unfortunately it doesn't turned on. I kept putting my phone outside under sun light, still the display wasn't working. Then i left my phone for about 1 and a 1/2 month in my cupboard abandoned....It got fully recovered!!! i was living a happy life then.
:Main Problem:Now in today's date i was feeling something is wrong in the phone because it was discharging these days too quick(abnormally and this things were happening after recovery too). So i decided to put the whole phone(deassembaled the green board) in the isopropyle(99%). after 30mins later i picked it up back and assembled every thing back turned on the phone and guess what the screen was black again. I putted the phone under sunlight again but case got even worse (but i think it is good both) at the same time. My note 3's screen is turning on and working but inplace of black screen its showing dark smudges or a quit a bit of screen(not cleared but seen-able) like some kind of weird shape/spots of black. Now HELP ME
Tell me what to do!! i don't know what is this happening because 99% isopropanol isn't that conductive and will not harm the phone whatever the case is.
What should i do to get all the things back at the track? should i submerge the phone again in alcohol or should i leave it for now.
*i hope somebody read this, waiting for reply and help*
BTW: i'll keep updating this thread if something happens
Whats the 1% ?? Water ??
When a phone gets wet, I never recommend dunking anything in alcohol or any other liquid, especially the screen. Sounds like the alcohol may have seeped in between the glass and LCD.
Update:
So after putting it under sunlight for 2 days. My phone's screen is completly BLACK.
just a tiny part was showing lighted up but that also gone after about 15mins.
What the heck should i do now. I removed the battery now and putted the phone in the cupboard again (hoping for a miracle).
Any help will be appreciated.
New screen or bin the phone .

You made a huge mistake by placing the phone in alcohol. You should only submerge the motherboard. It seems like you have alcohol/some water inside the display assembly now.
Use a hairdryer to completely dry the motherboard, place the display/ rest of the phone in rice and give it 3 days or so.
Should work.
PS: You may have killed it by turning it on while it had the spots on the display, i.e.. caused a short.
Good luck.

Alright man i'll try it. Thanks for helping, as i said well appreciated:good:
i already done the hairdryer part for 10mins or so.
And also putted the phone packed in a bag full of rice. Lets see after 3days :crying:
Update guys: so after putting my isopropyle damaged phone's screen into a bag of rice for 3+
days lol nothing happened. It seems that rice done nothing, my screen is still black sadly. My phone is booting and speakers etc. everything is working fine the only problem is in the screen.
Please don't forget to read my detailed post in which i stated that-
nearly a year ago i was able to recover my phone which was water damaged and for that solution i gave a bath of isopropyle alcohol. And after a month i was able to recover my phone just by putting it somewhere without battery
So at last i want to only ask you what the heck should i do to GET MY PHONE BACK AGAIN HELP!!!!
Buy a new screen .

It takes effort to accept that the best thing to do is just to get a new phone. I remember when I wanted to stick to my old, microUSB-port damaged Galaxy S II but I had to accept that I needed to move on.
I know sometimes it's difficult ($$$) but yeah, save some money up and you'll see that this will be just a small episode in your history of smart phones.

If something happens in this 28 days i'll post it ASAP may god bless me

maybe.....
but seriously it maybe any kind of impurity but i'm sure it is not water.
I would suggest to buy a new phone. You could TRY changing the screen, but there is no guarantee that the screen is the only issue. + a used Note 3 is almost the same price as a new screen.
Sorry that the method I suggested did not work. :/
Since this didn't work, you probably fried the screen driver when you turned it when it was filled with liquid under the display.
Change the display or the phone.
Never, ever attempt to turn on a liquid damaged device. I know it's tempting. This is an expensive lesson!

You dont need to say sorry bro.
Well from all the experience i gain from this incident and including my experience with isopropyle alcohols, i don't know definitely what happen but i can guess what may be going on there.
So, in recent months a previous phone (not my phone) was water damaged and the owner gave it to me as a last hope lol. I 100% submerged that phone in isopropyl for 3days!! lmao and as a result the phone's some part like speaker and screen (which are stacked by an adhesive) were floating in the solution and then i picked up that phone up and situation got even worse the phone's screen was a bit hanging i turned the phone on and the screen was working perfectly but as i said the phone's screen was hanging so it was not touching fully the digitizer and hence the touch was not working but the screen was turned on i dunno why.
Now i look at my phone which screen was just dipped about 15mins and still not able to show anything. I think the cause may be a part between the screen and the phone which might be displaced by that solution.
Now i ask you guys that should i remove the screen only by heating & removing and stick it again. Will this solve the problem? any advice?

Never use hair dryer on a phone fallen in water. Immediately after your phone fallen in water you must do your phone in a bag with rice for 48h. I think at this moment and after your hair dryer it's too late.
Well if I get chosen for the Samsung Insights thing this week I will send you my old Moto X
Use a vaccum cleaner to suck water out from all open ports.
Vacuum cleaner can static blast it. Best bet is rice or vacuum chamber.

Okay! Thanks
Well... haha. I had a similar situation a few weeks back. I jumped in the pool with my phone in my pocket and realized immeadiatly and threw it on a towl. So I'd say mine was underwater about 3 feet deep for a solid 3-5 seconds. Phone still worked thankfully but since it was 1am I didn't have access to rice being on vacation. I did put the hair dryer on "cool" for about 5 mins and seemed to dry it out pretty good minus water mark on LCD which went away the next day. The next morning, the speakers didn't work as well as vibration so i decided to restart and it never was able to boot back to any OS (custom or STOCK). Long story short... I was still able to manipulate the phone with fastboot/adb. (THANK GOD) but thats it. No boot.
- My phone warranty expires in Sept.... My bootloader was unlocked.
- Re-locked bootloader, flashed the latest stock release with fastboot and FLASHED THE LOGO COVERING THE WARRANTY/UNLOCKED SCREEN WARNING. I think this last part saved my ass because I RMAed my phone and they sent me a brand new one within a week of this all happening. The bootloader will show LOCKED and status of 2 which means it was relocked but that didn't hinder my warranty claim.
Worse case, if you're still under warranty, relock the bootloader and flash the lastest stock as well as the logo removing the unlock warning and they should cover it no problem. They did in my case at least.

Waterproof ?

Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, and I just want to know if it can go under salt water (under the sea) without damages ? Thank you
Never on salt water. S7 edge is water resistant only, not water proof. And is limited to only a few minutes under fresh water not more than one meter deep as far as i know.
Thank you

Last week i bought my S7e to the beach and i brought it into the sea and tested it under seawater. Definitely didnt go more than 1m deep with it as i was just swimming on the surface with the phone in hand, and only for a duration about 10 mins. Upon going back onto shore my S7E home button isnt responding, but fingerprint scanning works. Power button wasnt working but works fine after a night. Phone was going nuts jumping in and out of apps by itself as in someone is pressing the screen like getting struck by zeus. Speakers sounded muffled . Sent in for warranty repairs and got it fixed and was told my motherboard has been replaced *idk how true is that* .
I was told by them that they would check the Iiquid Damage Indicator , and if the cause of this is due to water corrosion they would not honor the warranty. But they did nonetheless , thats all i know.

if its only booting to DL mode after water theirs no software flashing gonna fix that
Something must have shorted out and defaulting there only options would be try letting it dry out for days and see what happens or repair center

I dont expect it to But you never know
its not the water that damages the device its the impurities in the water that conduct the real electricity,
Water by itself sucks as a conductor
Normally I would also say pull the battery but kinda hard samsung.Thank you thank you
But as little voltage as possible til dried,
But yea I dont think flashing anything is the route right now I mean in some far off land in magical odds say the water hit the exact point of qualcoms ground out test points...
Might be able to also ask the staff at the hotel for instant mashed potatoes
Back when I worked on a wrecker I watched EMS use it for coagulant agents To stop bleeding and fluids as it is so dry it absorbs any to all moisture...Maybe a bag of that would even be better
