I'm a long time user of Core Player as my primary music player on my PPC. I noticed when I installed it on my X1, V1.2.5 and now the new V1.3 release also have issues with album art. I've copied my itunes music with album art embedded to my X1. When I select an album to play (not every time but often) the album art is displayed upside down or totally corrupted (green slightly diagonal stripes across the screen). If I play an album that has no art, the last album art is displayed. At this point the X1 display freezes, music still plays but no other response. The only way out is soft reset. My fix has been to revert to V1.2.4. With this version no album art is displayed but everything else works fine (playing videos aside). I had none of these problems with my old Dell Axim X51v (VGA screen) with V1.2.4 or V1.2.5 so I'm thinking this is a WVGA issue. Is anyone else having this problem (I have logged a ticket with Corecodec but have received no response.)?
I'm having the exact same issue and it's driving me nuts. I wish there was a way to disable album art, at least during the time that this bug is existing.
Have you found any solution to the problem since your post?
Hi Scar45,
My solution pending a response from CoreCodec has been to revert back to V1.2.4. No album art, plays nicely when other applications are active. It would seem to me CorePlayer is not fully WVGA compliant or the graphic hardware support issues mentioned related to playing video extend further.
The only irritation that exists (and it applies to V1.2.5 and V1.3) as well is the play order is sometimes changed if I play from and album selection as opposed to going into the album file and selecting ALL to play. Haven't worked out a solution to that one yet.
Best regards
same problem. Go to menu/Tools/References then select Video page set to DirectDraw. Fixed mine
Great advice Randy, seems to have resolved my issues. One less thing to obsess over.
Thanks again. )
I have coreplayer 1.25, and want to upgrade to 1.3, do i have to pay again for 1.3 or is there an update function, ive searched everywhere with no results....
You should have received an email from the provider you originally purchased CP from advising you of the V1.3 update and providing you with a download link. To answer your question, its a free upgrade.
Downloading the upgrade now. Does yours also freeze when playing videos sometimes? Mine does when trying to fast forward sometimes or changing from one to another. Also, the youtube never worked for me does it now?
yeah changing it to directdraw din help much. in fact it was slower for my friend's unit.
Need some help here, I cannot play videoes in Album, not even the standard sample video, anyone know what can be wrong?
can you view a photo?and i mean viewing one...not preview..maybe the album lost the folder location
I had this problem one time before... with 1.93 ROM
I dont know what caused it...
I did a hard reset, and after that the videos worked again...
imho, htc fullscreen player missing.
Hi ...
I'm having a problem seeing the real pictures that are put on the ID3 tags..
The same picture [of a singer] is shown on all music files and i want to know how to solve this problem.
Does it have something to do with the memory card ?
THANKS .

Go to menu in music tab and update album art.
I suggest on WiFi.
When I did so, it updated many of my songs, however for my band (Odd Thomas) it selected an album cover for Earl Thomas and when I went to find the jpg and fix it, it was not in my music folder, so I am not sure where manila stores this data.
I can see some of the jpgs but not all of them.
i didn't understand your answer...how can i update album art ?
only if you have Manila 2.5, I think
I've just put a over 500*500 cover into my i9000, but the resolution become very bad in the music player. Does anyone have this kind of problem? And how can I fix it?
Don't know what the solution is, but I have this problem too.
I think it is because the player is only using the thumbnail file for its cover art, hence it looks blocky. It does not seem to use the original file.
Yeah I have the same problem. I Tried to tag the mp3 files with another jpeg file... didn't work no matter the size of it. Indeed the thumbnail may be in cause...
Let me know if you find a solution, it's very annoying.
I'm the only one in the french forum "frandroid" to encounter this problem
THANKS
Looks like this may be a problem with how Android handles album art. I tried the stock player and bTunes. Both have the same problem.
My album art is 300x300 minimum and they look like crap on both players.
Problem fixed with the FROYO firmware JP2 !!!
I copied my music collection on to my phone (4,700 .m4a files which are eaac+ at 48kbits/s), which is about 350 albums with 1000+ artists. The stock music player plays them all fine and all the embedded album art and other metadata is all there. The only problem I get is when I select the 'artists' tab. I get a brief insufficient memory message, then the player closes itself.
Has anyone else seen this? Surely 1000+ artists shouldn't be a problem for a cutting edge superphone.
I'm thinking probably a bug that they've missed? Or it might just be to do with your firmware, what version are you using?
