Coreplayer V1.2.5 & V1.3 Issues on X1 - XPERIA X1 General

I'm a long time user of Core Player as my primary music player on my PPC. I noticed when I installed it on my X1, V1.2.5 and now the new V1.3 release also have issues with album art. I've copied my itunes music with album art embedded to my X1. When I select an album to play (not every time but often) the album art is displayed upside down or totally corrupted (green slightly diagonal stripes across the screen). If I play an album that has no art, the last album art is displayed. At this point the X1 display freezes, music still plays but no other response. The only way out is soft reset. My fix has been to revert to V1.2.4. With this version no album art is displayed but everything else works fine (playing videos aside). I had none of these problems with my old Dell Axim X51v (VGA screen) with V1.2.4 or V1.2.5 so I'm thinking this is a WVGA issue. Is anyone else having this problem (I have logged a ticket with Corecodec but have received no response.)?

I'm having the exact same issue and it's driving me nuts. I wish there was a way to disable album art, at least during the time that this bug is existing.
Have you found any solution to the problem since your post?

Hi Scar45,
My solution pending a response from CoreCodec has been to revert back to V1.2.4. No album art, plays nicely when other applications are active. It would seem to me CorePlayer is not fully WVGA compliant or the graphic hardware support issues mentioned related to playing video extend further.
The only irritation that exists (and it applies to V1.2.5 and V1.3) as well is the play order is sometimes changed if I play from and album selection as opposed to going into the album file and selecting ALL to play. Haven't worked out a solution to that one yet.
Best regards

same problem. Go to menu/Tools/References then select Video page set to DirectDraw. Fixed mine

Great advice Randy, seems to have resolved my issues. One less thing to obsess over.
Thanks again. )

I have coreplayer 1.25, and want to upgrade to 1.3, do i have to pay again for 1.3 or is there an update function, ive searched everywhere with no results....

You should have received an email from the provider you originally purchased CP from advising you of the V1.3 update and providing you with a download link. To answer your question, its a free upgrade.

Downloading the upgrade now. Does yours also freeze when playing videos sometimes? Mine does when trying to fast forward sometimes or changing from one to another. Also, the youtube never worked for me does it now?

yeah changing it to directdraw din help much. in fact it was slower for my friend's unit.

TF3D Music Player problem

hi there
ive synced my hd with wmp and all my songs etc are on there fine in mobile wmp. all the individual songs show up on the songs tab in the tf3d music player as well but my problem is when i go to the artists tab, it shows enough artists to fill the screen but when i finger scroll to go further down, the list just disappears, like theres only the first 10 or so artists and then theres nothing.
has anyone else had this problem?
ive resynced a couple of times, deleted the audiomanager.vol file etc but still the same problem. plus it takes over 2hrs to sync so i dont want to do it that often. have over 2000 tracks.
cheers for any help
just bumping up to get help
i got the same problem... but what doesnt work in my player is the current playlist and songs...
just uploaded a vid 1 minute ago:

Probably the player isn't designed to handle such a big amount of data.
I know this is not a great help, but you should really try CorePlayer. It has a media library, which works quite well .
i have coreplayer and use it for videos but for music (normally also for vids but wmp suxx rele bad [-> codecs]) i always prefered the built-in player.. usually u only listen with shuffle coz i need variety ^.-
i just dont wanna use an extra player coz its an extra app and i wanna avoid that as far as possible.
what i really miss is a hardware button or something like that to chance to the next song.. i used a sony ericsson w850i walkman phone for the last 2 years and i could use the volume buttons (long press) to navigate through the playlist without turning the display on, thats hell useful when its in the pocket, especially when ur riding a bike.

well.. since its not possible to even chose the music dir (seems to must be in <root>/music) the player should be designed to handle any amount of data. i only have 300 songs on there atm. usually i would have, like kauka187, 2000+ =)
i really hope there will be a good firmware update very soon...

Yeah youre prob right about the amount of data.
ive got coreplayer to watch movies and s2p when i want to find a specific song (since theres no search function in built in the tf3d music player WTF!) to play so i guess they will have to do for now until htc hopefully comes up with an update because i really like the look and finger friendliness of their player.

just watched your vid and yeah i have exactly the same prob but like you said, my issue is in the artist tab.
you never know, some bright spark in this community may be able to come up with a fix
This seems to be a bug, I discovered it too with about 3000 songs on the player (which required a softreset for anything to show up in the TF3D menu)
It seems that when you try to scrol down, it snaps back to above the first artist.
When it happend to me I could get back to the other artists if I just scrolled down again.
There's still quite some bugs in the TF3D Player and I wouldn't mind replacing that tab with Coreplayer or WMP itself.

I may have just found a solution to some of the problems with the TF3D music player.
I loaded a bunch of new tracks onto my storage card via the USB cable earlier and edited some of the artist/album details on the tracks I added. The TF3D music player wasn't recognising the new tracks or the changes I'd made to the existing tracks. A soft reset didn't solve the problem. Removing and re-adding TF3D to the Today screen didn't solve the problem. The wrong details were still shown in the player. (As well as this, the Playlists tab wasn't working at all and I couldn't queue up new songs to play.)
Removing and re-inserting the SD card while the list of artists was showing on the HD's screen, however, HAS forced it to re-index the music on the card and now it's all perfect again. Perhaps someone else with a problem could try this?
Sequence:
- copy tracks to the card over the USB lead, or update artist/album details
- unplug USB cable
- go to Artists list in TF3D music library (leave TouchHD turned on)
- remove SD card
- list of artists is erased from screen
- insert SD card
- after a few seconds the list of artists is rebuilt correctly
Report back your results!
did just like you said and the list is built up again, but the list of songs and the now playing list still won't scroll..
yer me 2... just re-inserted the memory card but problem still occurs
the only thing i can think of is an encryption problem in the tags.. i used the musicbrains global database to tag my entire music in order to remove all problems in the tags. but since my tags are ALL tagged the exact same way i got trouble finding the problem ^^
Same problem here!
I had to rebuild my artist-list through updating in WMP. But problems remains to be solved...
I have 860 songs on my card, and it fails to scroll through Albums and All Songs.
Only Artists works.
I believe though, that it is a problem that HTC should solve, and not us. This is not an improvement, tweak or anything else.
This is a real error in the Player!
I tried to describe the problem to the technical support at HTC.
When (if) they respond, I will let you know.
awesome cheers
Update on problem and HTC Tech Support:
HTC has replied to my request, and their recommendation is to clean the card, and then sync it all again through WMP11.
I followed the procedure, but the problem remains (
Only positive thing, however, is that I now have A LOT more album covers!
I'll be back later...

Album cant remember video playback time

Hi,
I watch quite alot of video on my HD. I use HTC album and the encoder program to get the videos compatible with it. When Album is the active program, even if the device is locked overnight, it always remembers where in the file I had finished watching. If Album is closed, it forgets (i can handle this), but if album is running in the background for any length of time it also forgets the position.
Is there a way to fix this?
Chris
Does noone else have this problem or is there just no known solution?

[Q] Music & Video App

hey guys so i got a question which has really bothered me a whole lot for some odd reason. So i have successfully installed and re-installed WP7 onto my HD2 about 5 times all times with complete installation including live services and actually putting music and apps onto it. I am pleased by this build, however one very irritating thing for me at least is how in the world can i get the music player to function properly. the music plays well and all, however the wallpaper of the most recently played artist/album does not show so the backdrop for the music app is pitch black or white never an elegant album art/artist art display. The album cover of the playing album is displayed and all other functions work seemingly except for the "music wallpaper" I've seen it on others HD2 running HD7 so i know that its possible. if anyone knows what went wrong in the installations each time (i've done it the same way as indicated everywhere) i mean not much u can change or mess up with lol. but if anyone else has this problem or knows how annoying it is esp if you are an avid music fan who always kept their music organised and updated with right album art and info its a real bother. so please it may not seem to be a huge problem but it has clearly troubled me so to research, waste hours and then finally post about it.

[Q] AAC+ tags partially ignored

I haven't read about this problem anywhere, so right now I don't know whether the problem is caused by the Blur libs, or my files:
I've encoded a few CD's to HE-AAC (AAC+) with NeroAAC. This is because I want to store a lot of music and AAC+ seems to deliver the best quality at the smallest size.
The problem is that the Milestone 2 ignores Tracknumber information and the included cover art. This is quite annoying: the Connected Music Player downloads the wrong covers for my albums (Keri Hilson's No Boys Allowed get's a In A Perfect World cover and so on...)
That's not the biggest issue: the most annoying is the fact that an album isn't played in the right order. Most of the time it's something like this: start with #1, #10, #11, #12, #2, #3, #4 and so on... If an album has a tracknumber 21, it'll be played after track number 2...
It really annoys the hell out of me! I've tried my best to tag every song correct, yet the information is ignored...
My old Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 doesn't seem to have any problems with it. Even Windows Media Player is fine with the files.
Are there more people with this issue? Is there a solution? Are there people who can try te reproduce this problem?
We all know that I can ask Motorola for help, but their support via Facebook really, really sucks.
Seriously... There's no one who even has a reply to this?
Right now I figured out a few things:
1. When encoded with QuickTime, the tags aren't read correctly. Using NeroAAC tags are read correctly, but Album Art is still ignored.
2. DoubleTwist player seems to have a good influence. It reads the album art and updates the Android music library. Because of that the CMP get's to use the correct album art.
I also replaced the aac libs with those from the Droid X, but I actually don't know if that was a true fix.
Just for the ones who were still curious...

[Q] Embedded mp3 covers disappaered

I did have over 2000 tracks on my SE Arc, all showing the embedded cover-art, that is included in the mp3.
But all of a sudden, those cover-images are not visible any more. I'm using the standard media player of SE.
I saw in the forum that the same thing also happened with previous xepria-models, but i could not find a real solution: emptying the cache f.ex. etc. did not work.
So i might re-copy all of them: but the same thing may happen again ... :-(
Any idea what might have caused this, as there were visible for at least two/three weeks ?
Kind Regards,
Paul
Have the cover images been stripped from the files or is the media player simply not reading them?
Because the two are very different problems.
If it's the latter, then I'd personally say look for a different media player.
There are a number of them on the market that are superior to stock apps, such as WinAmp and and PowerAMP.
Well I ran into this same problem. It worked fine on my X10 using Sailing Media sync from my Mac (iTunes) to my X10. When I synced to the Arc about 20% of the album covers came across. I then deleted all the music and installed "iSyncr for Mac" (paid version but very cheap) on my Arc. I then synced the music and about 75% of the album art came across. App was way easier to use than Sailing Media sync (which was installed on my Mac)
I then installed "cover art downloader" (free app) . It found most of the rest with the general overall scan. Any remaining ones I could search for the album or artist and it would show a bunch of selections and I found them all.
Actually this worked pretty well overall.
Thanks.
The cover is still present in the mp3: SE did not remove it.
Using another program (Player Pro trial), it works perfectly.
Disappointed nevertheless: SE creates a multimedia telephone, but their app is not even able to show embedded mop3 covers. So i have to reorganize all, with other android app's. What is the added value of SE in all that ?!
I also deleted all music and recopied the mp3-files top the phone, but it still does not show any mp3 cover: so something must have changed, because it worked before...
Well, methinks that it's the Android player issue actually. Sony Ericsson did not include their wonderful Mediascape this time =(
They only added an infinity button onto the Anndroid music player.
When I was owning Rachael, Mediascape was da bomb. Though not all my embedded album arts were shown, but at least it had a 80% rate of display, unlike the 20% rate now.
And worse, initially the player couldn't read my 2,000+ wma files, only displaying a few measley mp3 files (c'mon... I got myself a 32gb card cos I trust Sony to host a good media player, right?).
Did abit of googling, realized it's the android version that's affecting it.
Only solution was to installed PowerAmp, and it displayed 60% of my albumarts, and my wma files could be played. Though some were omitted from the listings under 'artists', 'albums' etc.
Seems after installing that, the droid player could read wma files as well (but albumart visibility is still 20% -_-)
I'm no IT expert, but my guess is a wma plugin was not included into the Arc?
I don't know what Sony Ericsson is doing, abandoning such a great software they created for Rachael, leaving this new, sexy model media-crippled.
Personally, I don't like to install another music player when I have 1 in my phone, for space reasons, but the droid music player is too disappointing.
If you do a google, the albumart issue exists in all droid phones.
I remember having the same issue, it was caused by loss of the sdcard/Android/com.android.providers.media directory, which stores the cache of album art, and which I accidentally deleted. At least I think it was this directory, because I deleted the whole sdcard/Android directory.
Media player refused to re-create the cache, for some reason. I fixed the issue by renaming the folder with my music from 'Music' to 'music', after this media player rebuilt the cache.
Hope this helps.
