"OK Google" with screen off? - Huawei Mediapad M3 Questions & Answers

I'm trying to get Google Assistant to work on my tablet. It works when the screen is on, but it does not respond when the screen is off. I think this is supposed to work. Has anybody gotten this to work?

[Q] OK Google- How to Make Screen Wake?

I just got my Note 4. I have 'Ok Google' working when screen is off(not using screen lock). It responds when I say "Ok Google", but the screen remains off. How do I make "Ok google" wake the screen?

"Ok Google" bug on lockscreen? Voice unlock in landscape mode does not work.

"Ok Google" bug on lockscreen? Voice unlock in landscape mode does not work.
I have enabled the option to allow "ok google" to unlock my device when the screen is off and the phone is locked.
This works fine in portrait mode, but if my phone is sitting in a position where the sensor thinks it is in landscape mode, my phone will unlock, the screen will adjust to landscape mode, then voice detection will stop listening and the screen re-locks (and stays on, in a locked state).
Is anyone else able to replicate this?
I am having the exact same issue, seems like it starts listening then when it switches to landscape the voice recognition gets pushed to the back or something, I hear the sound for it ending after the rotation but it wont do anything.

I am experiencing the same issue only I have a few more details to add. When my phone was locked at screen off the screen never even turned on. When I voiced a command to "Open Play Music" nothing happened on the screen, but I manually unlocked the phone and Play Music was open.
When the screen was turned off and unlocked when I said "OK Google" the screen turned on (at the lock screen) and oriented itself in portrait for a second and then rotated back to landscape but never opened the phone or showed the "Listening..." screen
This works as it should when the phone is oriented in Portrait mode.
I am having the same issue...anyone sorted this out yet?
nobody else having this issue?

I did a factory reset yesterday and I am still having this issue.
i am having the same results as the first few mentioned
Same here
It is not the 6P though. I'm seeing the same stupid behavior on my Nexus 7 since marshmallow.
i didnt try for the landscape mode but my phone unlocks even when my frnds ask it to unlock!!!! ans at times it wont recognize my voice but it will accept my frnds voice!!!!
I'm also having this issue. Are others able to use "OK Google" with screen off in Portrait Mode, or is it just us unlucky ones?
I can use it in Portrait mode just fine. But, if I put the phone down and it thinks it's in landscape mode, it just hangs there. I really hope this gets fixed soon.
Same here. Do iPhone users have to put up with this moronic attitude to product testing?

OK Google with screen off?

Hi guys, if the smartphone is not charging and the screen is off, does the hot word "OK Google" work?

Cannot disable "OK Google" permanently

I have an AT&T H910 patched to latest (I think Nov 2018). I noticed that the phone is listening all the time. If I speak "OK Google", when I unlock the screen, it is the Google Assistance waiting for me. Also, it will respond to someone else yelling "OK Google" from a distance. Often when I am using the phone. So I found out how to disable it, which is via the "Google App, Settings, Voice".
This works for a while. However, after a few days. The "OK Google" is once again turned back on. I went to the settings, it is off. I have to turn it back on and off again to have it disabled again. Does anyone know what is going on?

just download the LG app disabler and then select ok Google and the Google search, helps for no voice commands, for me anyway but it will also break voice text ect. It's called package disabler for LG apps
Thanks for the tips. But if it breaks voice-to-text (the mic icon on keyboard), it is a non-starter...
