So a few days ago my wifi stopped working.
I've tried reflashing/changing the rom, flashed stock kernels and custom kernels, but nothing works at all.
I'm currently back to cloudyg2 rom. Mac address says unavailable but sometimes it works.
Basically, my wifi sometimes works for like 5 seconds a day and I'm not really sure what is wrong.
Bluetooth is working fine though, so it's not the IC chip right?
I've tried to take to a shop to fix the IC but no one can fix it because it's an old mobile and they don't have any spare parts yet.
Does anyone know what's wrong?
Edit: I have the d802 version.

So, I've been through 2 Moguls and both have the same problem.
First time, i downloaded and installed one of the newer builds of WMWiFiRouter. I started running it, turned on the hardware switch, and found my iPod Touch unable to get signal, despite the being inches away from the phone. I reset the install, and uninstalled it. running a new ROM, and the WiFi still didn't work. Read as "Unavailable" when it was on. So I called Sprint, and got a replacement, since i just assumed it had already been a replacement, and I assumed they gave it to me with Bum WiFi.
So Today I got the replacement. In the store i turned the hardware WiFi switch on, and got networks listed. I was happy to get WiFi on, so I installed WMWFR.. Again I received no signal. My Laptop couldn't see it at all. I upgraded the ROM, AND hard-Reset the device, and WiFi isn't even searching for local networks.
The only version that works for my Mogul is 1.20 any other version new or old I've tried doesn't work for me.. If you need a link PM me.
Version .89 works perfectly on DCD's 3.2.6
What rom/radio are you working with? I was afraid from the horror stories to upgrade wifirouter so I stuck with this one and is working perfectly.

I just also remebered that a long while ago I had a custom rom running and when I was first introduced to wmwifirouter, can't remember which version, wifirouter would work but then I could not seek any wifi networks on my titan. I had to revert back to stock rom then flash new and a new version of wifirouter came out which took care of the problem.
Well i think i was running the M2D Round 4 ROM, and what ever the newest Sprint radio is, and tried it again. It killed my WiFi, again. I reflashed to Stock ROM and I still can't recieve any signals.
Wow, I stumbled upon this thread and I have to say that I have used WMWifiRouter since it came out and I have not ever had a problem with it on my Mogul. I have the latest version 1.25, could be there is a new update already, anyways it should back up your wifi settings, registry and all, before it does its thing. It does have a recovery feature in the options menu. I don't really know how it could stop your wifi from working. A hard reset should fix the problem since from what I understand it changes some of the registry settings so that it can bind the radio to the wifi.
The Difference
My question is:
When using WmWiFi Router, for those that are using it...did they buy it or torrent it?
Perhaps those with success are bought, and without are torrenting / using initial free versions.
have you guys with broken wifi seen this?

I installed that and my phone won't boot past the HTC screen. I have DCD 3.2.6 rom with 2.40 radio. Performing hard reset now.....
oh, and i forgot to turn my wifi switch on while installing the cab, maybe that's the reason....?
edit: after the hard reset, I tried the cab again with my wifi on, still no luck... oh, and i did a soft reset, and it won't boot past the HTC screen.. another hard reset required.
Hi!
I have no idea how but somehow my wi-fi signal on my phone got like 3 time worse today. e.g. Two days in my room i had full signal for my modem now its barely connected.
I first restarted my modem and it didnt fixed anything. My prothers phone(HTC desite) wifi works perfect with full signal and mine not.
Today when i went to work and tried to connect to the companys free public wifi connection and it couln't find the signal at all.
I have no idea what happend to my phone. curently i'm using custom rom aurora
3.0 beta. This issue just came from nowhere.
Its my wifi adapter damaged? or is there a way to fix this problem by my self?
thx in advance!
dzo is improving the wifi driver, just stay tunned in the rom thread...
Your phone is OK, the driver is not so well
Go back to a more stable version and the prolem should be solved.
I also installed the original 2.3.5 gingerbread and still have the same problem.
its possible that the aurora wifi driver was still present when i installed the offical rom?
The main point of all problems - WHY USE FULL OF BUGS .35 WHEN THERE ARE ALMOST BUG FREE .32 ROMS.

It looks like something is wrong with my phone and i'm pretty sure its not the rom thats causing the wi-fi failure. I will clean my phone as much as i can from the rooting and changing roms and than send it to service.
I remmeber that this morning "12 hours ago" my phone felt accidently on the ground.
It didnt shut down or leaved any scratch. maybe than dmged wi-fi. i dont know :S
So after a week of using my amazing new Nexus 7 I decided to root it (using this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1742919). Immediately after rooting I flashed the Glazed JellyBean 1.1.2 Rom.After a successful flash I found I could connect to my home network but cannot get out to the internet. I tried reflashing the rom and flashing a new rom (Jr6) but no luck, I am not getting any internet connection. Everything else on the device seems to work.
I tried setting a static IP on my device and that made no change. I haven't had a chance to try a different network yet. I don't know whether rooting or flashing the rom caused this issue since I did not try anything while rooted before flashing the rom. Before I rooted the device I never had any issues of this kind.
Has anyone experienced this issue, or know some troubleshooting I could try? I'm tempted to unroot and go back to stock but I would like to try every option before that.
Anyway, it's 1AM so I'll check this thread again in the morning. Thanks in advance for anyone who can help!
It might be best to just start over again with the factory image and try again. I've never heard of this happening before.
Same happened to me, but i disconnected then reconnected to router and after 5 mins it went from grey bars to blue(cyan) bars again
Well I put it back to stock but that did not change anything. I then tried it on a different network and it worked fine. So it seems like its an issue with my router. Odd that it would happen right after I root the thing. Any idea on how to fix this?
This was also happening to me(wifi grayed out.) rebooting the router solved the problem temporarily. I came to find out 3 neighbors were using the same wifi channel I was. Changed my channel and all has been well for a week. I used wifi analyzer from the market and picked a channel well clear of the others in my neighborhood. YMMV of course.
My brother gave me his old Galaxy S4 E330K. Wifi Bluetooth doesnt work. What I found out is he flashed it with a 5.0.1 Black edition firmware of e330k. I tried flashing it with 4.4.2. Wifi and bluetooth still doesnt work. And whats confusing is the wallpapers are for s4 black edition but the rom i flashed was not a black edition one. Is this wifi and bt already a hardware issue?
Sometimes when a ROM is installed you need to run the "wiping" processes 3 times before you get install a different ROM.
Or flash the rom twice to make sure that partitions have been overwritten.
Or, your wifi chipset might have been burnt. This is what happened to me about 3-4 weeks ago. One day I tried to send some files via BT. BT turned on, but could see no devices at all. A couple of minutes later, the wifi went the same way. Turned on but I couldn't see any available networks. Another couple of minutes later, neither wifi nor BT didn't turn on anymore.
Opened the device and saw the chipset burnt
I read similar stories the same time I experienced these problems; I think for a lot of people S4 is starting to break.
Try to find out if it's a hardware problem or a flash problem.
Cheers!
Hi guys.
I wanted to try a custom ROM on a friend's i9505, so after reading a bit around the forums I updated the phone's modem and bootloader (all ROM threads seemed to recommend this one):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=62593102#post62593102
And then tried a few ROMs.
However, they all seem to have the same issue: the WiFi signal is INCREDIBLY WEAK. If I'm not literally 1-2 meters away from the WiFi router it just loses the signal. Where other phones see a full or almost full signal, the s4 doesn't even see the network, or it sees it with just one "bar".
So, discouraged, I flashed back the stock ROM, using the instructions from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477
using the "Latest Lollipop" file in that same page. I see from Odin that it indeed flashed everything, including the modem.
But the WiFi signal is still weak! Everything else is perfect, seems pure stock, but that one thing just doesn't work!
How do I get it working again? I'm not even concerned about custom ROMs anymore, I'd just like to have a stock (or anything really) with a working WiFi.
Any ideas??
Could there be a loose connection in the phone?

Anything is possible, but it seems weird that it happened just the moment I flashed a new modem/rom, don't you think?
Yes, it is rather coincidental, but you never know. I recommend checking it just to rule out.
Was the phone purchased brand new from a carrier?
Well, I tried everything, flashed countless different stock packages and modems, disassembled the phone and checked and re checked the antenna, even brought it to a repair guy who couldn't figure it out.
I guess I'll have to take it back to Samsung and pay their extortionist repair fees...
Yes I had also issue on WiFi after flashing ROM.. Most of the time WiFi saved and secured but not connect
