Youtube pinch-to-zoom not working anymore - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Guys please help me. I tried everything I could to make the Pinch-to-zoom working again but still no luck.
Clear Cache/Data + Disable + Download in Google play = Still not working
Installing old versions of Youtube app = still not working
Wipe cache partition = still not working
Open Youtube play a video, dont close recent tab, wipe cache partition = still not working
Play a video, clear cache and data, resume video = still not working.
Its very frustrating I always wanted this feature but It doesn't work as if now.

Yeah I actually freaked out once thinking mine didn't work anymore. Turned out it was just the video I was watching didn't support it.

YouTube Wifi/Data

Hey all!! Anyone notice that using youtube with Wifi the app doesnt open it. If I use you tube with data 3g , it opened but close with a error
Anyone had same issue or found any fix for youtube with both wifi and data?
HTC EVO 3.26.651.6
(Not Rooted)
I don't have the issue, but have you tried force stopping the app? Also, try clearing all data, it might be some corrupted data causing it. You can access it by going to settings>applications>manage applications>all applications>youtube.
not seeing the issue here. How are you accessing the youtube links?

By the youtube app, because it's factory i cant unistall to reintall
I fix the issue with the wifi but with data still frequent message "Sorry, this Video cannot be play. There was a problem while playing."
I think the problem is when the 3g data is slow and force the you tube run in same place and force close by itself.
I went to application -manage aplliaction and i did a youtube clear default, clear data , clear cache then force close and begin run well but then same error issue
I dont like using the youtube app ..way to slow. Try out the mobile website...alot faster alot better

issues with Market and Amazon App Store after power loss

I left the battery run out on accident, and now when charged and fully working( able to browse the web and other network related activities) I cannot download anything from Market or Amazon app store.
The download says it starts then it errors out.
Download was unsuccessful, please try again
This has happened to me twice.
Running Dexter Mod 1.41.
Market App
Have you tried to clear the cache?
So I tried to clear cache..no work.
I cleared the data for just the market and it worked after that.
Bumping this thread.
Anyone else have something similar happen?
Ran out of battery in stand by. Market won't open now. Tried restart, clearing data for market app, tried wiping cache, tried reset switch... no dice. Really dont want to start all over.

Problem is still there. I found something like this in logcat for every time I tried to open market
Code:
w\vending could not check for tos
Anyone have any ideas?
for market issues please follow these instructions in the order i found them to work;
1
open market, if possible, tap around to create cache
2
goto settings, apps, RUNNING SERVICES
3
stop google framework, genie, and any other google service listed
4
goto settings, apps, CLEAR CACHE, NOT DATA
5
open market w expectation of fc, if it does open, close it.
6
turn fone off and on.
i found these Specific instructions to work on multiple android devices. most folks exclude turning off services, wipe data when they should be wiping cache, and they dont restart. so try in the numbered order listed.
if this doesnt work, i can direct you to a market cleanup update for another device. google xda simple green market. should turn up a thread w patched market for another device, and a market cleanup update that may help.
worst case, factory reset would do it. if you dont want to lose your internal storage data, maybe try my clockwork recovery and just format the data partition. this would at least leave your internal storage folder alone.

Thanks. Everything came back as soon as I killed the Google messaging service.
I don't understand how the messaging service could have had me all locked up, but its fixed now... in additional to some other apps that weren't authenticating.
supplemental market tip would be to open google talk in the event some google services, specifcally the downloader, doesnt start.
not sure if todays lack of google data or messaging permission xmls would have any relevance to messaging services having issues.

Google music works ok for me on ics 0.19.
Everything works fine, actually.
Maybe you could try to clean the cache of the app music (in settings > apps)?
re 0.0019
Actually, I already cleaned the cache, but I did the factory reset and wipe app, as I did with the 0009 0.0014 0.0019 I did the music is the only application that does not work the rest is almost perfect .
all right after the factory reset .... all perfect applications including music

Play store apps reamain on 100% downloaded but don't install

I have a problem with play store: if i download an app from it, it remains stuck at 100% downloaded but it doesn't install... it needs sometimes even 3 or 4 minutes to start installation. Same thing for uninstall... I have just tried to clear play store memory (cache + memory) and play services memory but it doesn't help...
Seems i have found the problem... i have uninstalled and re installed nova launcher and now it seems to work perfectly... i think that's something related to "add shortcuts in home pages" in play store settings...
It already happened to me on my former phone. But I solved the problem by rebooting the phone
Problems persist... i've done a factory reset but nothing: sometimes it's impossible to install/uninstall applications from Play Store, the progress bar of download stuck at 100% but the app won't install... sometimes it needs some minutes, sometimes it's just instantly... it's something play store server related? If i try to uninstall app from touchwiz it's simply instantly even if however, if go to app list in play store, the app i've just uninstalled is still present in the apps list... .
I noticed that sometimes even the manual update of phone firmware doesn't work and the "checking update page" appears sometimes instantly ans sometimes after some minutes...
Same problems here. Noticed the same when requesting system update for the gear s3 from the phone. Also happening on my tab s3...

Have you tried to update Google play services? And play store to the latest version. Do both of these then boot to recovery and wipe cache and reboot.

Fingers crossed
Some apps have permissions to draw over screen and we need to disable this permission for apps to install correctly. I had a similar issue on my previous phone where the apps were stuck at 99% installation and then just dropped off. I had to literally disable 'Screen overlay' for almost each app for play store to install correctly.
Also, If you are able to sideload apks without any issues then it may be a play store related issue.
Hiya.
I have the same issue, and have for around 1 week now. Only with PlayStore, sideloading works fine
Has someone found a solution for this? I have noticed that sometimes it installs apps without any problems and sometimes remains stuck also for minutes! I can't realize what causes these slow down... maybe is something related to play store servers?
I have the same problem with 100% download and no install afterwards.
But at the same time I noticed two other problems:
- Badge Notification is not working - I don't see the "badge" on app's icon, when I receive messages.
- boon payment app is not working; when I touch screen to activate payment process (NFC chip), it supposed to countdown 60 s, but nothing happens.
I don't know if this is part of same problem. However I've tried - without success:
- reboot phone
- clear data/cache Google Play Store
- clear data/cache Google Play Services
- clear data Badge Provider
- clear data/cache TouchWiz
- reboot to recovery and clear cache
I think there is some process that should be reset (clear)... Any other suggestions? I'd try factory restore as very, very, very last option.

I've tried factory reset (2 times), but didn't help...
Having same issue with S8 and Tab S3. Also notifications are delayed for random amount of time. Some lag and connection timeouts with different applications, not all though.
Tried factory reset couple times, it fixed the problems for a while but after 1-2 hours they came back. Checked with safe mode if some 3rd party app is causing this. Issues remained in safe mode too.
Got it to work for now by clearing cache and data from Google Framework Services and Google Play Store. Lastly removed and re-added my Google account, rebooted device and wiped cache partition.
Notifications are now on time, Play store starts install instantly.
Still afraid that this is only a temporary fix, waiting to see if these problems arise again after few hours of usage.
Seems there is an issue with Google services on some Samsung devices, mainly running Nougat 7.0

Play service battery drain

I've had high google play services battery drain. It is at 40%
Has anyone experienced this, and what could have caused this?
