PUBG on Shamu - Nexus 6 General

What do you think?
I have been testing some android roms however 2 of them (tested already) keep failing or disconnecting me of the network (mobile), first i tought that was a hw failure on it, however when the device gets warm through an app it disconnects the mobile network and after 1min goes back.
Roms tested:
-> Pure android 7.1.1 Nougat
-> LineageOS 15
Checked online and seems to be that encrypted OS it will slow down performance, would like to know your toughts, i think i'm trying Cyanogen to check the device behavior, toughts?
**updates**
Changed to CyanogenMod 14 without encription and moved to franco's kernel and is very stable. However gets very warm

I tested the game on
LineageOS 14
Stock 7.1.1
Stock 5.1.1
I played enough rounds and no problem. The best game was on stock 5.1.1

The first time I flashed I wiped Davlik, Cache, System and Data then flashed the zip from TWRP. For updates I wipe Davlik, Cache and System and then flash the updated zip. The latest version can be found here.

CM10 Nightlies for Fascinate!

Just noticed that fascinatemtd is finally being included on the CM10 nightlies! I've been following the Jelly Bro roms up to last week. Although I've been using it as my daily driver, I'm looking forward to even more stability.

JT's last build (19 August) had zero issues for me. Last night I dirty-flashed to the 8-23 nightly (after wiping caches) and all is well including app installs with market.

is anyone running the nightly on a alt carrier ?
if so can i get a link to the fix
The wifi reception on the 8/24 nightly with devil kernel 1.2.1 is not as strong as on ths ics build 15 with devil 1.1.3
Smoother than ics, but doesn't feel quite as fast.
What CWM are people using. I was running 7.2 and tried flashing while CWM 3 was installed, it rebooted in CWM 6 and it said it installed fine, but im stuck on the Cyanogenmod boot screen for like 10 minutes...
also is there a way to turn a ROM ZIP file into something I can use Odin to flash it with? I can get into recovery, but I dont ahve a mini USB reader to install a new ROM on.
I was running build 15 teamhacksung ICS, then went to 8/24 build CM10.. cleared all cache, etc, installed cleanly. Loved jelly bean, but it's still very half baked, not usable as an every day phone.
Just went back to CM9 nightly, into which teamhacksung ICS was rolled into today, and everything is nice and quick again. will go back to CM10 when the bugs are worked out.

Really?? 8/24 nightly and all of Jt's builds before that worked great. Very snappy and I've had zero problems. I haven't been back to ICS since probably JT's second build. The nightlies or paranoid android are what I use now daily, and I haven't had a bug problem in quite some time.
I'm been on CM10 8/19 nightly since it dropped. Everything works. I use it heavily for work and personal.
I've put off updating my ROM to another nightly, because it takes me a hour or two to get everything restored back the way I want it. Seems you really do need to do both wipes and a cache flush, then flash ROM, then latest JB apps, to assure best results. I've tried cutting corners twice, and both times, it's bit me in the ass.
Kind of hoping they'll hit a "stable" point on the nightlies soon, and I'll catch up then. I ran CM9 happily for about a month, but I'm so pleased with the additional smoothness, stability and additional features of JB, I haven't looked back since I switched.

Strange, I have the exact opposite experience. I install everything clean, never cut corners.. CM10 seems to have some memory leak.. it start out really beautiful and smooth.. within hours, it's not usable. CM9 remains stable for days in a row, so i'm back to that for a while.
I've been using the nightly CM-10 builds since 8/23. What's the consensus? If I want to flash to the latest build, do I need to wipe the data and cache?
Thanks!

That's been my experience, and the thing holding me back from upgrading right now. Definitely going to flash to the latest by this weekend, to see if there are any changes/improvements.
I'm just glad I haven't experienced any memory-leak type behavior. I will admit, though, that I've had it do the "sleep of death" thing twice in ~2 weeks. It may have come back to life on it's own, but I was impatient and pulled the battery in both instances.
is anybody else not able to send mms ?

I've done a couple of flashes without wiping the data or cache with no ill effect.
Flashed the 9.1.12 CM10 nightly this morning. Only wiped Dalvik cache, nothing else. Kept all my apps/settings. Everything but Google Music was working great, so I flashed the GApps again, went into Play, uninstalled/reinstalled Music, and everything works now.
GPS locks in pretty quickly in GMaps and all of my GApp and 3rd party apps are working normally.
If this continues to be stable, I'll be more likely to flash more nightlies, with fewer days between upgrades.
phone call static
Has anyone experienced static when making phone calls. I was using the 8/26 build and everyone that I called complained that they couldn't understand me because there was a lot of static. I flashed the 9/1 build and I get the samething but a little worst. Other than the static everything is working great.

No static here... I've been running the cm10 nightlies (stock kernel) for about a week without any issues. I updated to the 09-04 build last night after just wiping cache and dalvik, along with a test kernel that JT posted yesterday that's designed to provide a bit more power to the radio in order to maybe fix the intermittent loss of data. So far so good.
One thing - I've had some issues after experimenting with using link2sd (a great tool) to move various apps to /system to save precious space on /data. It seems that after moving Google maps; voice; Gmail; and similar core apps to system, play store reports update after update for the apps I've moved.

i was running SC3 milestone 2 (gingerbread).
i odin'd to stock EH03 then rooted it.
tried flashing the CM10 ROM via CWM recovery 2.5.1.x (red), 3.0.0.5 (blue), and 3.0.0.8 (yellow). they all abort saying that there is an error on the .zip file.
any suggestions?
edit: followed this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238070; stock GB -> THS ICS -> JB. yay!
Anyone else notice that auto brightness isn't working, or maybe it's just me? Using the 9/10 nightly.
Edit: Seems to be working now, before I had all -1's in the light sensor levels but now I'm getting actual values.

My samsung galaxy note 3 is very slow

Hello............
My samsung galaxy note 3 is very slow
I formatted it through recovery and the is no changes
it is very slow when i played on any games
i updated it to 4.4.2
what is the Solution ?
Thanks in advance
Formated means wipe data/factory reset?
Do you use any task killers, clean masters, antivirs etc??
Never had a problem on my Note 3. Have had this problem many times on my original Note and Galaxy S however.
You could try PurePerformancexX or try a completely fresh stock ROM flashed using ODIN and your choice of ROM from Sam Mobile.
Or simply use a different custom ROM flashed from your custom recovery. Making sure to do a complete wipe before hand (or during installation with Aroma Installer).
What ROM are you using?

Well I'm currently using MultiX with stock kernel, virtually nothing selected except for things like Dropbox and other necessities that I use. It's as light as you want it to be. Give it a shot.
Also if it's games that are lagging you can try using custom Kernels.
One that springs to mind is Aurora which has a GPU overclock.
All controllable using Synapse which installs at the same time Aurora is.
Good luck

Installing a kernel is hard?
It takes 60 seconds, you don't need to change Synapse settings I was just saying you can.
They're two different suggestions. Install the ROM if you can be bothered or install the kernel for an easier/quicker attempt at raising performance.
ROM's don't usually change performance much anyway if you have a non-bloated ROM already installed.
But yeah in this order: Try the kernel, or try the ROM, or try the PurePerformancesX thing as a last ditched effort.

Lag while on stock? It is either bad software or it may be defected cpu
I will try custom kernel & PurePerformanceX, but your warranty may be lost.
Best way is wipe all in recovery and clean flash newest stock ROM for your CSC via Odin.
Then if is your device slow, you have to apply your warranty. (sorry for my english)

[Q] last fast (really) android version?

ok, we have a nexus, so we deserve updates and we have them....that's why we bought a nexus no?....
yes....but every update is a hit for our device's performance...I thought that last one would fix performance issues, but is not .
so...I bought one of these to my gf, sure that it would work well, I owned one a year ago and it was very good! nope....is slow, lags, remembers me a 100$ cheap tablet.
I considered to downgrade....is frustrating...what version do you remember as stunning fast, like a nexus should be?
4.1? damn, is too 2012-ish....
4.2? old but at least we have tiles on notification drawer...
4.3? good, some performance goodies, hw vsync...
4.4? I thought this would be the best choice because in theory is optimised for 512mb ram devices too....but was not performing well
5.0? don't say nothing...pff
I also read about f2fs as a revolution, but is not my tablet and my gf uses it for study and I can't take it to test...
thanks for reading and answering
My 2012 Nexus 7 (wifi) I had been on Android 4.4.4 when I updated to Android 5.0 using Wugs nexus root tool kit.
It had been sluggish on Kit Kat, but got more so when I went to Lollipop, even with a full wipe.
After about a week on 5.0 I rolled back to Android 4.3, and have been happy since.
Everyone is having different experiences and mine personally is that 5.0 is running greater for me then 4.4.4. That was with a complete full wipe (including data) when I flashed the image through wugs toolkit. There were initially bouts of lag (waking up screen, lock screen, etc) but the lags pretty much gone bar a few occasions. 5.0.1 will hopefully make the system more stable and not repeat what happened with 4.4.4 because my n7 ran like a pig after that update.

No words about f2fs?
I have just updated my n7 to Slim rom 5.0.1.
I have been frustrated by not being able to read a simple email using gmail application. Lags, lags, and "gmail is not responding do you want to close it"
I need to have two accounts for me and my wife, so the performance was even more slow.
Now with f2fs it is a rocket. I have installed every toolvI wanted and now also the Godfire game, and I must admit that it was a hit.
So thank you google to slow our machines to force buying the new ones, but my nexus7 from 2012 acts lighning fast now.

Yes, I can agree with you that is really fast, but I had a problem with gapps (downloaded one's give in thread) and I couldn't install Google play store (it wasn't installed with gapps???)
I couldn't resolve my problem with that, and also, even I did clean install I haven't got screen like I first time use this rom. I haven't got possibility to chose language, and everything else. No, not here. Pure stock, rooted 4.4.4 KitKat. Removed a few Google apps I don't use, but still ext4. Lean Kennel really make a difference.

4.4 was worse......got better with lean kernel, but wasn't just fast and responsive enough.
the winner is....4.3......that's what I left on my gf's tablet....
everything runs good, apps opening instantly, look much 2013 but google launcher and google keyboard help...
this is my suggestion after my tests. good luck and hope next LP ota will fix some performance issues, not only on this one but for every phone which got slower with this update

CM11 Vs Latest CM12 Bacon Nigthly

Hey, i just want to know your opinions about why is better CM11S or why is better the latest CM12 Bacon Nightly ( cm-12-20150128-NIGHTLY-bacon)
I'm not trying to be a spoiler, but seriously, when it's so easy to do a nandroid backup and flash CM12, why not just try it? The only slight hassle is having to flash the old firmware if you decide to go back, but even that's not hard if you know how to use fasboot / recovery / flash ROMs.
And to answer your question, it's better because it's Lollipop, a step forward.
Bottom line: there is only one way for you to know.

Official CM12 Nightlies with stock kernel.
If you ask me ALL kernels are overrated in terms of battery life, but that is just my opinion (after some testing).
It is funny though how some users with custom kernels are undervolting and underclocking their
devices and yet never achieve the same battery life I get with all stock.
Some even claim that there device is more fluid than stock with kernel x or y.
If you are into multirom or perhaps display color calibration then sure, a custom kernel is the way to go.
btw, I don't use greenify, I don't block play services wake permissions, I don't use the facebook app.

Tnx for both your replys I've always used cm 12 with custom kernels. Will try with stock and see how it goes
I reverted back to stock 44S after trying CM12 in Nov, was too unstable back then. Seems people are getting stable experience from CM12 now, think I am gonna flashing it later today
Thanks all!
I've gone from 11s to 12 to 11 again. Cm12 is stable but does have a few annoying bugs. The one that annoyed me the most was the audio buzzing bug. Many say enable the phone to always have 2 cores on, but that never fixed my issue. Buzzing always happened. Then there was the proximity issue which van be fixed by flashing a new firmware and modem but my phone doesn't take the modem. Lost lte and signal kept dropping every 3 minutes. Also had an issue when I was in a call, I often was a unable to hear the person. Only had to enable speaker and then Disable it again. That was the icing on the cake so I went back to cm11s. Now here I can say that battery life is almost identical. Just ever so slightly better on lollipop for me. The system is not as smooth specially with scrolling. I have scroll lag on instagram and Facebook again (minimal but noticeable) system, for a stock rom, isn't really too stable. Had the phone crash on me and when I turned it back on, it asked me to re set up the device but data was still in tac. So yeah. That's pretty much it.
Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
Have tried CM12 nightly, and back to 44s because one game that I like didn't run smooth . I think ART cause this, been trying on CM12 unofficial builds also, same result. Maybe the game hasn't updated for lollipop yet.

Google play issues?

Is anyone experiencing Google play issues on their Nexus 6p. No wifi or cellular data? In order for it to work I have to delete the host file but then after it does the same thing. Doesn't work.
A bit confused, Google play, no wifi and Mobil data, why you delete the hosts file. It's not related to each other.
Which rom do you use, and what did you do or what happens that you don't have wifi or Mobil data. Are you on a clean flashed rom ?
I'm actually on pure Nexus room 7.1.1 all of a sudden. It started doing that out of nowhere. I am connected to WiFi and do have data. Not sure why deleting the host file fixes it but after a while it works after I keep deleting the host file. I never had this issue before till 3 days ago, which is very strange. Maybe it was a Google play store update?
Ah, ok, that sounds different, first I thought you have no wifi and Mobil data. But no, switching between nougat and Oreo these days and no Google update leads me to such issues. If you like to stay on your current rom, wipe cashes and system and dirty flash your rom, maybe with updated gapps. Perhaps the lazy way will fix your issue
Edit: I guess you tried wiping playstore and playservices data before .
