Definitely it's an refurbished note 4 N910K SK telecom korean model and probably faked by N910C software on it and the sticker behind battery is fake too.
And i highly doubt the screen display is not original that's why it has issues and god knows what else is not original inside of phone so if you got any warranty return it as soon as possible because refurbished phones are made by chinese companies they buy damaged phones then replaced whatever damaged inside "definitely not original of course"
then they put a brand new body housing so its looks like new then same goes to box and other stuff.
When you are in download mode whatever model shows there that is correct motherboard model.

From the hospital: SIM not working. Also, it it really i9500?

Hi
Background: I am usually very thorough when buying a new phone. This time I Wasn't well for many days and in the hospital. Urgently needed a new phone and ordered 1 online from a used shop. I specially wanted i9500.. no other variant..
I got one, it said i9500 on the back cover (echted in the plastics and well as the paper... which said made in india.. also the paper/sticker wasn't samsung quality but maybe since it was used, and indian made, i thought ok..
Now I inserted my sim and turned it on... Some chinese s***t! then samsung logo then the TouchWiz.. But there were many chinese apps as well. AND IT DID NOT DETECT MY SIM. Settings say its an i9500.. it felt like a samsung but something was off... In camera, as soon as I took a pic, phone got shut off! Had to take out battery... (btw, it says android 4.42 and when I go to Update.. .Samsung says it cant as device has been modified)
reformatted phone... more chinese sh*t, then Android loads up and there is no play store!
So I downoad a Darky ROM for i9500 and try flashing.. viola!! success.. Android 5.0.1
It said Sim not registered... then that message dissappears and now it shows me FULL SIGNALS but when I try to dial anything, it says Not registered on network! - WHen I went to settings... in device it is now saying:SM-903F (is that a ROM thing or is that the real phone model I have..?)
Can someone please help me.. the phone is very important here in my hosp.. cant type/read a lot of my laptop, it is very energy comsuming
Regards
P.S My location is Pakistan
See if you can enter download mode (Volume down and Power). If you can get into download mode, read off the model number displayed on screen. If you can't, the S4 is counterfeit.
The phone could also be a combination of various parts from different hardware versions of the s4.
Also, check to see if the imei is okay.

Yes bro, I can see the IMEI..
I tried flashing another ROM (TouchWiz) - Still sim is not recognized (but signal bars goes to full.. even if I take out the SIM.. guess thats a ROM issue)
Anyways, still stuck.. Which modem should I try flashing... :|
I was going to suggest a stock 9500 rom from sammobile.com but there are only ROMs for the 9500, not 9500chn.
Googling the model 9500chn links to other people that have the same problem when trying to flash another rom.

The phone model become GT-I9500CHN because of Chinese bootloader that unfortunately very hard to get rid of this stuff.
______
Your phone might be trying to connect to China Mobile or China Unicom that uses TD-SCDMA instead of WCDMA for most regions.
Also, after you install DarkLord S6 port on your device, you'll get phone model on About device as SM-G903F (Galaxy S5 Neo) instead of the normal one for more compatibility (according to the developer).
I would try to check the IMEI online to see if this is original or not (ilegally tampered from other device).

Cheap chinese fake replicas. All ib one line.
Do nothing about it. Ordering online was the worst decision.
Now there are threads here on how to manage these clones. Read one of them

I hate chinese like u do... but this is not cheap
and it is actually a REAL Samsung Galaxy
problem is its GT-i9500CHN - aargghhhhhh - pain doubling... due to me being in hospital. cant go outside to kill someone
If you flashed custom ROMs and them boot, it's not a clone. I9500 performs an Exynos CPU, Chinese clones a Mediatek one, so just for this ROMs couldn't even boot.
All you can do is try to flash a stock firmware from SamMobile, an I9500 firmware coming from China, and see what happens.
By the way, I think this guy bought a Chinese (Genuine) I9500, then rooted it for install Google Apps, that would probably be the reason of the GApps disappearing after formatting (as far as I know, Chinese phones have a backup partition where an emergency copy of the stock firmware is located, I don't know if Samsung does this as well).
For the SIM problem, it's probably simlock, and it probably works only with a determined Chinese operator (or, again, it probably doesn't supports Pakistan's signal bands).
All you can do is check your IMEI on some dedicated site and see if it's simlock, then if it's not, check if the bands that your phone supports are compatible with Pakistan ones.
Sorry for my bad english.
Nexus⁴ on Tapatalk.
Again, China's bands are TD-SCDMA, not WCDMA as we use mostly over the world.

Help please

I bought a second hand note 4 which came from abroad... dont know where but the device shows Sprint . The device shows SM N910F in 'about device'. How ever entering recovery the device info shown is SM N910P. I wanted to check for updates but doesnt work. Later i found the IMEI no. is fake ( shows a galaxy tab in imei info). Kies doesnt connect. 'dm- verity verification failed' in recovery mode. The phone is working properly but want to install complete stock. Have downloaded UK based firmware 6.1. via odin but doesnt install. 'About device' shows ' N910FVPU4COG5' (with FVPU) , the nearest i could find on sammobile is N910PVPU4COG5 ( PVPU which shows CDMA)
Please help me get into complete stock with proper IMEI. I dont even know where to start.
I'd recommend getting a refund if you can as there is a high probablity the device you've purchased has been stolen.
Thank you so much for your response. But refund now is not an option now, as I bought second hand from a friend who came from abroad. I need to find a way to repair it myself. Any ideas?

If you take off the battery, the label underneath should have the original IMEI? Is that there? Then you could put that back using the engineering menu.
See if you have the original label under battery.
the label also has fake imei. its the same number that appears in the device.
I checked few sites. What I think is someone is masking SM N910P with SM N910F ( read somewhere F is better than P and is easier to sell). I think my device has gone through same. I tried installing SM N910F original stock but the device didnt accept. I have downloaded SM N910P also but too scared to try as I have come to know that SM N910P is a CDMA. Any suggestions?
There are apps in the Play Store that do imei changing. Read those app descriptions and do some research. DO NOT PAY ANYONE YET TO DO ANYTHING. I am also looking, so i can get back to you what i find. So for it looks that imei changing can be done easily for free. But you just need to know a proper imei - this is the hard part.
Do you think you can peel of the label to see if another is under there? That may have the true imei.....

Looking at your previous posts it looks like you definitrly have a CDMA device, and from Sprint. This is being faked as n910f, which is an international version BUT GSM. The other possibility is described below...
In Verizon note 4, which is CDMA, there are two sim slots. This is required now by law. One is CDMA and other slot is GSM or actually meant for sim when abroad I think Sprint also is the same. I have Vefizon. Verizon phones are also facgory unlocked. If you are using GSM maybe try switching sim slots. In this case yiur phone has been flashed with international version firmware so it can be recognised on gsm networks. If you have a GSM sim try both sim slots.
EDIT: I checked this and I think Slrint does not have two sims.
Go to this site and post the problem. You will def grt an answer

You are not alone, I got that kind of device too, with same build number as yours. My goal is to put a sprint custom rom and I use miui, but as soon as I install twrp the device got bootloop, I back-up the rom and install miui, now it works perfect, even 99000 imei (maybe the original imei) appears.

Note 4 International purchase in Australia question (Already rooted)

Hi
I recently purchased a Note 4 from a company in Australia it was a refurbished International Verizon model called an open box special was a great price at 499 but when it came I was surprised to find it was rooted and running a DongCHAU.A927 build number but was flagged as official not modified in the settings and Knox has not been tripped, its a SM-N910F but the boot loader is N910V. Its definitely not a fake but obviously not 100% official. There are also a couple of little things but they might be related to Lollipop 5.01 as below
When I click the spen button and point to the screen the air menu feature does not work, it only works when I pull the spen out
There is no link action memo icon so I cant link notes to actions
I am very happy with it but just curious about the above and I am also concerned what will happen if I receive an OTA update for example to Marshmallow will it brick or will there be issues, also if I want to put a custom rom on it will there be issues given the fact that its a 910F phone but the boot loader is 910V. There is no unusual software running when I boot into Samsung recovery or download so I'm not sure how they managed to modify it yet keep it official, also the firmware seems very genuine also the company I brought the phone off are clueless and just told me that's obviously how the international note 4 are LOL

Strange issue with newly bought used Note 4

I recently bought a used Note 4.
Now when I started using it, I observed something strange on it.
First when i connected it to my laptop for some data transfer i saw a new drive letter popup with Verizon mentioned on it and it automatically installed Verizon's software on my laptop.
Secondly, when I reboot the phone in boot-loader mode to check if the phone is rooted or not, i get the Mobile Model to be SM-N910V whereas when i checked on the back of the phone (under the battery) it is mentioned as SM-N910F; even when i checked Mobile Status under Settings it also shows SM-N910F.
Now i installed Phone Info Samsung from Play Store and it is also saying the Phone Model is SM-N910F whereas in Device Type it is mentioned as trltevzw (i believe this is the model for Verizon based phones). - snapshot attached
Now I am quite confused if I have an international version of Note 4 or Verizon based version.
Also one more thing... Root Checker says my phone is rooted but when i install SUPERSU; i can't update the libraries since it needs TWRP or CWM recovery to update the library (which is not available as my recovery shows stock recovery).
Any help in this regards will be highly helpful.
Thanks!
I'd take your device back to the retailer and get a refund. As there is something fishy about it!

So any technical help would be much appreciated. .

Ok just an update...
First i tried installing official ROM (5.0.1) for SM-N910F from SAMMOBILE using ODIN but that failed giving some error.
Next I tried installing Official ROM (5.0.1) for SM-N910V using ODIN and it passed successfully.
Now Phone Info and About Status details match - Phone Model is SM-N910V and Device Type is trltevzw
but while doing this I have lost root access (which was already sort of useless because recovery was stock one)
However now Phone model and Device type part matches up.
Now IMEI on the phone and Phone Info are not matching... Anyone has any info on how to work around that?

What is the version of my S7 edge, Please help

I've just purchased s7 edge mobile it's not a brand new one and working perfect without any issues. But I'm confused about its version.
*In about phone menu the model number is SM-G935F
*The baseband is G935FXXU1BPIA
*On the back of the phone it' written SM-G935F
*While in download mode it's SM-G935V
*In samsung phone info app the Manufacturer/Brand : Samsung/Verizon and the phone model is SM-G935F and firmwares CSC code is VZW and CSC country is US and bootloader version and baseband are G935VVRU4API3 which is different from what is written under about phone menu.
* Update software option under about phone is absent.
*The hardware/board : qcom/msm8996 [64-bit]
*GPU : Qualcomm Adrenaline 530
*By checking IMEI it's correct and belongs to s7 edge.
Now I cannot update it through the OTA and I don't know what is the correct firmware to flash and can I use engineering kernel to root it.
It's clear the phone is SM-G935V depending on the CPU and download mode ..please help I afraid to flash wrong firmware and brick it.

I'm pretty sure it's not fake every hardware is working perfect the camera is awesome, fingerprint sensor is perfect and cannot be deceived , screen is perfect, heart rate monitor and spo2 sensor is working, I tested it in water and it's water resistant even in antutu benchmark it's recognized as SM-G935F and achieved high score 137197
It's a fake clone for sure.

It does not make sense to me at all... All of these things can be there in the clone too..(hardware can be faked in apps like antutu etc) ill have to take your word for it about the quality of the camera.. my suggestion would be to go to your local phone shop and compare it carefully with a display model..
have you tried connecting it to Smart Switch? it should get the right firmware for you
has knox been tripped?
does it have working knox apps installed like samsung pay etc?
It's not fake, Fake one has bad camera and fingerprint sensor can be bypassed by any not registered finger and has different CPU not snapdragon.
It is connected to Odin and identified as samsung, Fake one cannot be connected to Odin.
Screen quality is identical to the one in local store.
After testing It's water resistant, Fake one is not water resistant.
AIDA64 says it has LPDDR4 ram like original one.
Rear camera sensor is SLSI_S5K2L1SX which is samsung isocell sensor.
Every hardware indicates it's original s7 edge but how did they manage to change the firmware to G935F.
Finally it has a working samsung pay.

Thanks for reply. I'll try smart switch when I go back to home and will inform you.
It just seems ridiculous to me that the back of your phone states its a g935F when its a g935V and being as its still water resistant then i doubt the back glass would of been replaced also
Good luck friend :good:
Hmmmm wow idk how that happened remember the days when we could pull out the battery and know for sure haha bt I would say download the Samsung phone info app in the play store and check the the hardware if it's snapdragon(qualcomm) its a 935v bt if it says it's exynos it's a 935F that way you will know what is safe to use

This is what Samsung phone info app says:
*Hardware/Board : qcom/msm8996 [64-bit]
*GPU: Qualcomm Adreno 530
*Total Ram: 3.34 GB
After all I can say it's an original Samsung phone SM-G935V version depending on model number in both recovery and download modes and hardware profile in Samsung phone info app and AIDA 64 app and presence of Samsung pay and other Samsung own apps like s voice ,Samsung health, Galaxy apps, Samsung Gear, recognized in Odin and Knox app. Also camera quality, Fingerprint hardware and screen quality are excellent.
Knox is not tripped and the phone is not rooted.
BUT someone did his best to change it to G935F by changing the back cover to the one of G935F and he was clever enough to keep water resistance property but I cannot understand how did he manage to change the data under about phone menu to deceive people it's G935F version may be because this is the desired version.
This is CPU-Z validation report
One more thing the firmware is deployed and there are no any verizon apps nor verizon splash screen.
Is it possible to be flashed with G935F firmware then flashed with G935V bootloader and baseband after that because that information in AIDA64 is :
Baseband: G935VVRU4API3
Boatloader: G935VVRU4API3
Build ID: MMB29M.G935FXXU1BPIA

Allegedly there are if you have a look on YouTube theirs a few videos about converting a verizon phone into the g935F with a modded firmware... however they all ask you to pay for there work and i don't believe them lol.
Maybe its a refurbished model that Samsung themselves have fixed and sold on?
Tbh it would not surprise me as they have recently been accepting trade-ins for the new s8..
but to fake it being a g935f seems totally reckless to me.
if the back glass has been replaced i highly recommend never water testing it again lol
(do all g935V say g935f on the back?) im not sure
as you said all signs point to it being a g935V
Edit: also if you did flash F firmware with V bootloader you would still have the verizon boot screen (even if it was possible)
It's definitely a 935v since its has Qualcomm hardware if you bought it refurbished then whoever did it messed up or something you should be okay to flash any Verizon or U firmware without issues

I have no courage to flash or root it and the safest solution is using it as it is and will replace it for dual sim version G935FD.
I cannot return it back because it was purchased from Kuwait and I live in Egypt.
use smart switch and emergency software repair option, and see what will be the initialized version ... you dont need phone for this, just enter info in smart switch

I'll give it a try
Same problem as you bud, my BL is G935VVRU4API3 while my PDA and CSC are G935FXXUBPL2 and my BB is G935VVRU4API3 and my csc code is TGY. Been wanting to flash it to nougat but the manual option for updating is also missing. From what I have read is that i have a G935V but with an G935F overlay. Ive come to accept that im never getting any updates cuz i purchased this phone second hand. Also in phone info it says "product code not active" and my S/N is 000etc. But all functions work fine except for privacy mode yet my knox hasnt been tripped. If anyone has any advice on what type of firmware is safe to flash on to it, it will be much appreciated.
