Hi. I bought the Galaxy Note about 3 weeks ago.
1> Since I bought it, I've noticed when I am charging the phone, I am not able to turn it on (if the phone is off before the connecting to cable - usb/power socket).
2> sometimes, when I wake up the phone by pressing the power button. The screen doesn't wake up, instead it shows a few coloured horizontal lines moving vertically and the speed seems to be randomly. This lasts for about half a second, then the screen goes to black. If I wait for a few seconds, then press the home key (middle key in the bottom), the phone wakes up......
I am quite confused about these two problem. Anyone else ever observes similar thing?
Did you buy it new or used? What ROM etc.?
Hello everybody,
does anybody here see a connection between missing volume buttons(physical switches on the camera module 04w2155) and the tablet doesn't start?
As backgrund info.
Tablet is doing only short vibration when trying to power on, or when connecting to charger. When connecting charger led on the back is flashing but i don't get anything on the display or other feedback except the short vibration. I suspect also some damage with the screen, but cannot confirm. Tablet has a repair of the power button.
Thank you
You might be in APX mode, which doesn't activate the display.
Press the battery-disconnect button inside the tiny hole next to sim card slot and then try to power up your tablet.
Thanks for reply/hint.
What reset did is that for around half a minute the red led was lightning continuously, not blinking. After thag blinks again.
After research about apx mode i'm more and more certain this is my situation, it's active now.
If i connect to computer, it does recognize, search for driver and then disconnects within few seconds.
Since i see this more like a software problem could i stabilise the connection to the computer and recover informations/make backup and restore rom?
Thank you!

My guess - not to answer your latest question but to the original one, is that your missing volume buttons (physically missing, yes?) very much have something to do with the tablet's current condition. To get to APX mode, the tablet must be started from cold boot with power AND volume pressed at same time (physically pressed). If your missing buttons are registering as being 'pressed' all of the time, it may be difficult to create a boot situation where you can get to your android desktop.
Could you elaborate on the missing buttons?
Please someone else chime in here - I don't even have my tablet.
Thanks for reply.doesn't matter for which question. I put together any information. Issue is getting clearer.
I got the tablet in this condition and attempt repair. Power button was down so i soldered back.
Now the thing is somebody worked before in this area and i suppose the actual powerbutton is one of the volume buttons since the work done before doesnt look professional. I suppose they destroyed the powerbutton and desoldered a volume button to resolder as powerbutton. Which possibly is the case for both volume switches. Now the two vol buttons are nowhere.
The switch has 3 pins,of which the ones at the sides have continuity when the switch is unpressed.
I suppose for boot it could require that the 2 volume switches to be present, that means it could have some continuity check through the switches, and if they are not present it cannot start.
I cannot simulate the 2 buttons because for one switch the soldering pad on the board got burned.
I am going to upload pictures in 5-6 hours when i get home.
If this proves to be somehow true i would order another brand new camera module with all 3 switches, but now i'm unsure if with new board it could start, at least for flashing/recovery.
But having it vibrating and red light flashinv i see a sign it's not yet a "unrecoverable brick"
What do you think?
Thank you

Anybody any idea about this case?

I think it is definetely a screen damage, maybe a conection cord. Try to clean/replug this cord (cant remember now where it is). This short vibration indicates, that device is begining to boot. Right after vibration Lenovo logo should apear on the screen. If it doesnt - screen is down...
About power board - no connection between power and volume buttons for sure. Power button: + is central, - is other two.
stas.green brings up a good point. If you have opened up the tablet, it is very easy to disconnect the flat ribbon cable that runs the display. When I installed my 3G card the same thing happened to me. Freaked me out but it took 30 seconds to open it back up and correctly seat the cable.

stas.green you're right. the problem is with the screen. i powered the tablet and conected to the computer. i could see the memory access the files and make a backup.
i'm going to examine where is the screen problem origin and possibly to fix it. the screen cables i checked, they fit good. any other weak point known to you?
thanks for help
My next suggestion, not to fix the screen, but to get some function back - connect the tablet to a TV via the mini-HDMI port and see if you are booting to a normal desktop. Hopefully 'External Display' is already enabled. At least you would be able to test if the touch and pen functions of your screen and confirm if they still work even though your backlighting may be broken. Shining a flashlight at an angle on the screen may make the desktop visible if the backlighting is the issue.
Good luck!
Installed an Android swm 8802-everything works fine; sound, bluetooth, radio, etc., but I am only able to do anything with the remote, and it is limited to four 'modes', I can't get to settings with the remote. The touch screen is totally locked, right from startup. After the logo screen, a message appears at the top of the screen with a locked padlock icon and the words "App Permission". Then the message leaves and it loads to the home screen, but the locked padlock icon stays in the upper left and the touch screen is still locked, nothing works. The four buttons on the side all work (back, home, recent, and volume knob), and the pinhole reset button works too, and the USB, just no touch functions. I have tried reset alone and together with every combination on the side buttons, tried re-installing the whole HU, no luck. If there is an Android ROM to flash to it I am willing to try that after I hear from the seller. I have a Support request into the seller, but they're in China. Any suggestions out there? Besides buying a name brand one locally, lol!!
Update: The touch screen is bad, the ribbon connection at the bottom of the screen that attaches to the face has come off. Anybody know how to reattach it? I tried lining up all the leads as best as I could and taping it in place, but no luck. Some sort of conductive glue?
YouTube
Look up how to connect a ribbon cable to board. There's a little clamp that pops up. Slide the cable back in and press the clamp down
Hello friends,
I think the TV has Android 9.0 installed - I'm not so sure.
It is this device: Telefunken XU50AJ600 (Amazon)
In any case, due to the small amount of RAM (4GB), I should not only have deactivated but also uninstalled apparently important apps.
The television boots and then the picture remains black - you can still visibly change the volume and click on Mute. Every now and then a message appears in the upper right corner that the memory is running out (I installed Kodi with a large list of films).
If I click the button for YouTube on the remote control, the screen briefly turns light gray and then turns black again.
Since I only use the television 100% with a streaming app, I unfortunately cannot say whether a normal television image (T2 / S2 / Cable) would be running in the background.
Now I would like to completely reset the television - but I can't get into the menu.
Now I have already tried a few things I found about the recovery mode, but I did not get into the recovery mode with any solution.
The television only has one physical button (power).
My approach was:
1) Disconnect the television from the power supply
2) Simultaneously press the “OK” and “Back” buttons on the remote control and also press the physical power button on the television.
3) Provide power to the TV.
2 people press these three buttons all the time. The red LED on the physical power button flashes, but nothing else happens - the television doesn't even turn on.
I suspect it's not the right keyboard shortcut.
I hope someone can help me.
Thank you very much
BR
Werner
Just wondering if someone could maybe point me in a direction. Maybe the tablet has died just find what I discovered recently interesting and wondering if makes it recoverable or still rubbish.
So the tablet seemingly doesn't function screen stays dark, no sound etc. Pressing the power button for a minute doesn't do anything, not sure which side of the volume button is down and tried both combinations but pressing the power button and one of the volume buttons doesn't seem to do anything either. Was about to put it into the bin when I decided to connect to my windows laptop and noticed that when connected for a short period it comes up as a com4 device.
Grabbed ADB but neither ADB or fastboot recognises. Any thoughts?
