Managed to get cwm and root with this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...vo-a3500-h-t2879208/post55491817#post55491817
Modified the guide for Lenovo A3500-FL!
EDIT: Also some users have reported that this guide doesn't do the trick or is out-dated, so copypasted the guide from this post here.
Guide
1. Download attachment cwmRecovery.zip and download latest Flash_tool (version 5.1352.0) can be downloaded from here)
1.1. Enable USB-debugging. (How to do this)
2. Manually install the drivers from the attachment a7_40_drivers.zip for the LenovoTablet before plugin it to computer (win7 dirvers work for win8 too).
2.1. To install unsigned/uncertified drivers on Windows 7: http://en.kioskea.net/faq/3914-windows-7-how-to-install-unsigned-drivers
2.2. To install unsigned/uncertified drivers on Windows 8: http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how...8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/
2.3. After you have disabled the driver signature verification, you can install the drivers like this: Right click My computer, Manage, Device Manager, right click your computer at the top, Add Legacy hardware, next, Install plapla manually, next, Show all Devices, Have a Disk.., Browse to the driver folder where you unzip them, choose example windows7 and the 64 version (win7 drivers work for win8.x too), install every device. Then follow the guide.
(Note: Otherwise Windows only installs the normal automatic drivers and its more difficult to install the other drivers.)
2.4. Plug your device to PC.
3. Download the latest supersu zip file (version 2.46) from attachments or from https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/
3.1. Move the zip.-file to the Sdcard.
4. Turn off your device.
5. Unpack cwmRecovery.zip
6. Run Flash_tool.exe with Admin Rights.
7. Chose Scatter-Loading and choose MT6582_Android_scatter.txt (in Recovery folder).
7.1. Now you will see checekd only one checkbox - recovery, if not click on it and choose recovery.img
7.2. Press Download.
7.3. Connect your device.
7.4. Wait few seconds.
8. Have CWM on your device .
9. Unplug your device.
10. . Boot to cmw recovery by turning off your device. Then press and hold VOL DOWN + VOL UP and then also press and hold POWER for about 7 seconds.
10.1. Choose " Install zip from sdcard." (To confrim always use the Power Button)
10.2. Choose "zip from sdcard".
10.3. Select SuperSU-v2.46.zip from sdcard and apply.
10.4. Have a rooted tablet.
It might be necessary to always flash the CWM with the Flashtool directly before you startup the device. Otherwise it will start the original AndroidRecovery again.
It might also be necessary to use different drivers from here.
If the supersu zip doesn't install, try toggling the signature verification to disabled from cwm->install zip from sdcard->toggle signature verification.
Tested and working on Levono A7-40 3500-FL with kitkat update, build number A3500FL_A442_01_25_140823_SE, from ota. Attached screenshot for proof. Also other people have reported that this works for later updates too, for example A3500FL_A442_01_27_141127_SE.
You can update to the latest OTA firmware by first going back to stock recovery. See the second post for the guide.
Thanks and credits go to: @Koli96 and @bobais
How to go back to stock rom/recovery and update to latest Lenovo OTA firmware update
So, it's pretty simple, you take the stock_recovery.zip from the first post, extract it, and replace recovery.img in the recovery folder with the stock one.
Then :
Quote:
4. Turn off your device.
6. Run Flash_tool.exe with Admin Rights
7. Chose Scatter-Loading and choose MT6582_Android_scatter.txt (in Recovery folder)
7.1. Now you will see checekd only one checkbox - recovery, if not click on it and choose recovery.img
7.2.. Press Download
7.3. Connect your device
7.4. Wait few seconds.
And that's it !
On a side note, if it seems stuck on a black screen with a loading circle after factory reset, you have to put the tablet in landscape mode and restart (the shutdown menu appears without any problem) - this issue doesn't seem related to recovery, but a bug within lenovo firmware and the first configuration screen.
Side note 2: The first boot after flashing new update might take 15mins.
Side note 3: After updating to the latest OTA you can go back to cwm recovery with the guide from the first post.

I got the same tablet and I also am looking for a root. :/
Another waiting for rooting lenovo owner.
Same here, i was looking for a root guide and i couldn't find anything.
Does anyone else has a problem with long charging times?
Well it charges long and the charge stays long, so no issue here.
Seems that not that many lenovos root easily, but of course this is a pretty new device(?).

Installed everything and tried vroot once again (I have tried it before).
Still not rooted. And btw that vroot at least tries to install bunch of bloatware crap on the pc.
Edit:
I would suggest for anyone who installed Vroot to your pc to scan the whole pc after you uninstall the vroot.
Here are the scanning tools:
Malwarebytes
adwcleaner
superantispyware
hitmanpro

I got a successful root by flashing Recovery.rar from lenovo-forums.ru, (it's easy to google, I'm not allowed to post links) with the included SPFlash Tool and afterwards flashing the needed SU binaryies and apk. However, this will mess up the OTA updates, and I can't find the stock recovery again.
Therefore, I really beg anyone having the stock recovery to post it, enabling us to switch between them, whenever we want to apply any OTAs.
Thanks a lot!

Well I very highly doubt that there will be any more updates for a device with this price range. And since the next android version is the L version, which requires more work than before.
Edit2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-lenovo-a3500-h-t2879208 found this. Tested and it works. Will edit it to the first post.
The same as me
i cant flash update.zip from cwm recovery and need to restore the stock recovery ...
I think flashing the stock rom can solve the problem..
.by using the sp flash tool we can select to flash recovery only ....unticking the others except recovery.img ....you just try to download the stock rom and flash the recovery
Same problem

I dont know what you two are trying to do but this thread is about rooting the lenovo A3500-FL not about lenovo stock rom.
Rooting..
Yes indeed, that's what I'm trying to do. Rooting the A3500-FL. According to the instructions you need to install the SuperSU from a zip on your SD card. When I try do that it gets interrupted every time. Installing recovery went well. So I'm not getting what I do wrong? Any ideas?

And I hope you are using the install zip from sdcard option and the choose zip from sdcard option?
Boot to cmw.

browse to your supersu zip and apply.
Now I also update the first post's guide, so you can check that out too.
Thanks for the help so far. But now I'm starting to doubt that the CWM install went successfully. Let me show you a picture of my screen after a failed install of the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.02.zip -file. Then it starts installation, but aborts it in a few seconds. So am I booting to just a normal recovery mode and not CWM? (Sorry if all this seems totally ignorant, I have only flashed roms before, never rooted a new device)

Yup.. This is the problem. The recovery runs fine from Flash Tool and claims it installs it. (Download ok) But I still don't seem to have CWM on the device. It's just normal recovery mode. So any ideas about the CWM-installation? What could possibly go wrong? I get no error messages. Cheers.

Searched XDA high and low but there is no trace of rooting ASUS Z380KL. Is it possible? May be some universal rooting tool will help?
Managed to get it rooted with kingroot. You can find the app on XDA.
Unfortunately, still no access to /system, /data, etc with any root capable file manager. They don't even ask for root permissions.
I'm afraid at this moment rooting Z380KL with KingRoot is just a fiction.
I could get root.
A China user found that a phone boot used by C8817D twrp recovery (=tmp.img).
And I added a script of a part of daemonsu.
download: <filedropper>/z380klrootkit
If there is a problem, please correct by yourself
-- temp root --
step 1. adb reboot bootloader
step 2. fastboot boot tmp.img
If a phone was waiting, you install a fastboot driver to your PC.
step 3. It's OK to stall when displaying ASUS logo.
Then, you confirm to connect to adb(type "adb shell"). this is temp-root environment.
If you didn't connect adb, you install a adb driver to your PC.
step 4. I recommend to back up a system partition by dd.
-- root --
step 1. Get ready to temp-root environment.
step 2. Execute "root.bat"
step 3. If you didn't restarts or didn't got root.
Check root.sh at temp-root or retry from backed up a system image.
-- unroot --
It's the condition to be able to become root.
This remove all files for root.
step 1. Get ready to temp-root environment.
step 2. Execute "unroot.bat"
Good luck:good:
You can actually get access to /system /data with kingroot, and no computer at all.
All you need to do is to switch to SuperSU from Kingroot.
There is a guide to do it with an app.
Could you get root by kingroot? I failed to get root by it.
Please tell me a version of kingroot.

I have got root access on my Z380KL using the KingRoot app available in their official thread (v4.1)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/one-click-root-tool-android-2-x-5-0-t3107461
After rooting the tab, if you want to use SuperSU instead of KingUser, you can follow the instructions in this thread to replace KingUser with SuperSU. Works perfectly fine and I now have root with SuperSU.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/super-su-xperia-device-lollipop-easy-t3119006
or better still, search for "replace kingroot with supersu w0lfdroid" in google and follow the instruction from the replace w0lfdroid website
Thank you for information.
I think it's safety way. I'll check it.
Then I wish I install a other recovery for xposed

Link's dead so I had to go through a Vietnamese (pay-to-download) website and wait like 10 mins before it started downloading. Feels like my browser has a virus now lol, that site was so shady.
Unfortunately my device (Asus Zenpad 8.0 Z380KL) doesn't boot after trying to replace Kinguser-App to another SU-App. Now it stucks in a bootloop and I want to flash it. I downloaded the Firmware from Asus (WW because on device is a WW Firmware).
I copied the Zip to Sd-Card and started the device with “Volume up”. I clicked "Enter SD down mode", then the device shows another screen shortly and vibrates.
So I tried another way with ASUS Flash Tool v1.0.0.14. Unfortunately I can't select Z380KL as model. I tried with Z370 with connected device. But there is a an "Unzip image failure".
Can somebody help me flashing the firmware on the device?

SOLVED : http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/asus-zenpad-8-0-z380kl-bootloop-t3373051/post66714396#post66714396
Upgraded the Z380KL to official Marshmallow today (https://www.asus.com/support/Download/51/1/0/7/GVdbbhmVKFr91qyj/32/).
KingRoot failed to root the firmware but was able to flash the SuperSU through TWRP.
Copy the SuperSU update zip and TWRP recovery image to sdcard
1. Restart to bootloader mode (Volume Up and Power)
2. Connect the phone and fastboot to TWRP (do not flash TWRP)
(fastboot boot <twrp image>)
3. Install the SuperSU update zip from TWRP (you have root access now)
4. Install the TWRP image from inside TWRP (select Install and change the install zip option to install image). Select the TWRP image from sdcard.
Got official Marshmallow, TWRP and SuperSU

Its just easy mate, first of all youll need a PC, Odin3, and a USB Cable. Download SuperSU zip file on the chainfire website in youre phone, download TWRP or CWM recovery tar file on a specific thread, install Odin3 on any website (You need working one), so after downloading those youll need to turn off and put your phone in Download Mode or Odin mode which is for Samsung. Connect the phone into the PC and open Odin3, after opening youll see buttons which includes AP or PDA. Select it and choose the tar file and turn off any settings if told on instructions of installation, after setting those flash and once its done and shows "PASS!" remove battery for 10 secs if told and set your phone on recovery. Select install zip and choose the SuperSU zip file on the download location and BOOM! Youre done mate.

But there is No TWRP FOR SM-G710K
Flashing will probably Brick your device and/or corrupt your EFS partition
Long story short, I was trying to do a factory on my Huawei P8 (UL00) but I didn't properly uninstall root. Use Twrp to do the factory reset but failed. Phone was still running after reboot. Twrp again but this time wipe/advance and I wiped everything. No Os after that. Flashed Lineage Os. Running fine. Then I use the Huawei Update Extractor to create a flashable zip from the UPDATE.app. Flashed it in Twrp hoping it would restore my phone to factory. Nope completely bricked or (Broken beyond repair at this point) won't turn on. nothing.
If there is/are anything I could do. please comment down. I really need my phone.

At last you can try DC Unlocker, but firts check your Device manager for unrecognised devices, aka your phone.

Nothing in Device Manager. And it says no phone detected on the software you provided.

Cable is the original one that came with the phone. And is 100% working. LED is not flashing or showing. I guess I just totally corrupted the whole phone system files or bios of the phone.

I literally just did the exact same thing you did and came across this thread. No sign of life at all. No usb sounds or anything, phone is not turning on and no screen nothing. It's ridiculous because I used the exact firmware for my device.
Hello,
This question has been posted before but I didn't find a solution on the previous threads.
My VNS-L31C432 doesn't boot past 'Your device is booting now'' after trying to install the C900B300 rollback package. The dload method, as well as the default recovery don't work either. I can access fastboot and flash another rom (using this method: https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/guide-flash-variant-version-firmware-t3506404), but so far nothing worked.
I can also install TWRP, access adb and shut down. I wiped everything from my phone in order to do a clean install, didn't work.
I was previously on Marshmallow (VNS-L31C432B161)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
If your twrp works , try to install the rom with this method : https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...ota-p9-lite-upgrade-rebrand-tools-pc-t3778839, it worked for me from soft brick. Download and try with FullOTA-MF-PV rom first.

Well holy sh** thank you so much!
I saw that you have single sim phone , so you must download rom with odd number ,try to download 391 version.
Download the HWOTA-VNS.zip file and unzip it. Copy the directory HWOTA-VNS to the root of your sd card.
When all of 3 files downloads find the one update_full_hw_xxxx zip (xxx is like e.g vns-l21c391 ) and rename it to update_all_hw.zip, copy the 3 files inside the HWOTA-VNS/upgrade directory.
Reboot to twrp and go to WIPE->Advanced wipe mark data and push Repair or Change File System, if writes: File System : ext4, live it , if its F2FS , hit Change File System and change it to ext4. Go back to main menu , go to install guide to HWOTA-VNS directory and install hwota_update.zip after that the phone will reboot and starts to update.
