Uncertified device - Moto G4 Plus Questions & Answers

Hi,
Using a Moto G4 nonplus with Nougat, f you moto for not updating it to Oreo. Anyways everything is stock non rooted, never formatted it ever but the play store is saying that the device is uncertified. Why is that so?
Thanks

What firmware version are you using? Did you try to delete Playstore Cache and Data? Same for Google Play Services.
You could try to wipe cache from the recovery as well.
Had the same problem with NPJS25.93-14-15, but I am rooted and could solve the problem by using a Magisk module which changes the fingerprint of the firmware.

My display broke. I really don't want to get it fixed as moto sucks. I will try to get a new phone if the budget allows otherwise I will get back if I get the display fixed.

Clear Play Store and Google Services Framework data, and reboot. Is it fixed?
I'll try that and report back when i get more apps to update.
No that didn't fix it. I also tried uninstalling the play store updates. I'm currently using ART instead of Dalvik, although i did revert back to Dalvik once and still fail. I'm planning on rooting the phone so maybe when it gets restore back to factory it will get fix. Thanks for the tips anyway

"Not Working" can mean a lot of things. What is it doing? You might have the wrong Google Services Framework installed. I assume since the phone is on 5.0.1, it is rooted? You might try just wiping the Data and Cache for the App for starters.
If that does not fix, try uninstalling the Play Store, and then just sideload and flash the .apk for the most recent version to reinstall. Sometimes a fresh install will iron out problems. If those do not work, some specifics on the Play Store version and what it is doing exactly would be helpful.

Phone is not rooted ( no superuser app or SU app installed ). Not working meant all i see is Downloading but nothing happens and after few mins i get error code 495. I cleared cache, reset phone but facing same issue.
I have 2 internet connections strange thing is that its working on one wifi but not working on other.
If it's a second hand bought.. Do a clean flash.. It is the best way to resolve the issue.. You never know what the previous owner has done to his phone..

Two days age i received my note 4, and i rooted it. The problem came after installing some exposed modules. Apps start to randomly crashes i could not use a phone anymore so i went back and flashed ot with official rom. The problem keep on and this time around all google apps are crashing i can not even sync or open any google app and also other samsung apps keep on crashing and the phone on some occasion will restart itself. Anyone with an idea on how i can fix this
Go to Recovery and wipe data and cache.
Not all Xposed modules are compatible with LL or MM.

Pie and Google Pay

Hi,
I updated to the latest Pie update with ODIN (G955FXXU4DSBA) but was on the Pie beta before that and I can't use Google Pay. Is this the same for everyone else? I understand that Pay wouldn't have worked on the beta as it wasn't certified but with this being the stable Pie build shouldn't Pay work?
Edit: Fixed. OEM Unlock was toggled on in the developer settings, I don't know why. Turning this off, restarting, clearing the cache and data of the Play Store solved this and my device was Play Protect Certified again.

If you dirty flashed through Odin (using Home CSC to keep your data from the beta) you will have to clear cache. After that you'll be fine.

I did dirty flash through Odin yeah I should've mentioned that in the OP, but yeah I've now cleared the cache & data of Google Pay, the Play Store and Play Services and I still get the same "Couldn't finish setup to pay in shops" thing. Is there anything else I need to clear the cache of?

Device not certified on play store (stock)

I'm on stock with no mods, unlocked bootloader, or camera2api enabled. I'm on bone stock pie Feb patch. Anyone could help me?
If this is not affect you, ignore it. If yes, unlock bootloader and install magisk.
Just clear the play store apk cache, and google services apk cache and reboot your phone. Everything will be perfect ?
