No boot-image - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey
A few hours ago I flashed a boot-image (it was the S9+ black boot image) via TWRP on my SM-G928F. After that my phone does not boot in system or revovery anymore. I can only boot into download mode. I tried to flash a stock rom via Odin but that didn't helped.
I think I need a tar.md5 file of the stock boot-image which I can flash via Odin.
It would be very nice if anyone could help me with this.
Best regards
DGB

You're on the right track. I think flashing the original stock firmware via Odin should fix the issue, but you said that didn't work...

Yes, that's right... It didn't work because the stock firmware doesn't overwrite the boot logo. But is ist possible to integrate the stock boot logo into a custom rom which can be flashed via Odin?

If that's the issue, you need to flash the stock bootlogo via twrp. If you can't access TWRP though, it'll be kind of hard.

Flash this via TWRP and if the issue is the boot logo then you should be good to go

I can't access TWRP, beacuase there is a never ending blackscreen. I can only boot into download mode. That's the problem! I to flashed stock firmware again, I flashed TWRP again. I tried adb sideload - nothing works.
I think there must be a possibility to flash stock boot logo in download mode... but idk how

When you say you say you flashed a boot image, do you mean the splash screen that shows up when you boot the phone up or a boot image that is used to determine what drivers/hardware the phone has when it loads up the OS?

That splash screen that shows up when I boot the phone, so the "picture" on which is "Samsung Galaxy S6 edge + " shown.

Have you tried flashing TWRP again with Odin?
Maybe the boot image somehow corrupted the Recovery. I'm not sure how, but its worth a try. I had problems with TWRP before and had to flash it a number of times in the past cos it got corrupt somehow.
You can get the TWRP img file from TWRP web site to flash in odin.

If you flashed TWRP, try to go straight to it. Starting with the phone off, press the usual key combo for recovery. Keep pressing it even through the blackscreen. If all that's missing is the splash, it should still go into recovery after about 15 seconds.

did you use fastboot flash recovery recovery.img ?
after that you were not able to get into recovery?
Was the 802 ROM a modified stock ROM?
If it was a stock modified ROM then find an original AT&T boot.img, you can download any ATT ROM and extract the boot.img. From there get back into fastboot and flash boot.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
once you have boot.img flashed you should be able to boot into Android. Do not go into recovery and wipe or format anything.

Can you get into recovery? Which recovery you have? If you can get into recovery, then flash the PA ROM again so you can get into fastboot, download CM for the 800, extract the boot.img from CM and flash that boot.img
turn the device on holding the power down key and power button, as soon as the bootscreen comes up...release the buttons and re press them immdeatley.
this should put you on the recovery screen, hopefully from there you can restore your phone.
cheers.

from fastboot flash clockwork recovery if you are not using it and then see if you can mount USB storage. Not sure if it is in twrp or not. Did you use the CM boot.img from the D800 CM 10.2? It should have boot. Did you wipe system?

[Q] Phone stuck in bootloop but stays on in download mode

I have a i9505.
My phone is stuck in a boot loop. The phone keeps restarting after the samsung logo for normal startup and for recovery. So recovery is also not working.
However phone is working fine in download mode and stays on for as long as I want. So this means that my power button is not at fault.
I have tried the guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477 But this has not fixed my problem and phone is still stcuk in boot loop.
Please help.
Thank you

Try to flash the latest MD5.tar from here:https://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/jflte/
After that your recovery should work fine. Flash it through odin3.09 selecting AP. If it don't work uncheck AutoReboot

He/She says that its stuck in a boot loop for both a normal and recovery boot... I think they should flash the original Samsung S4 firmware, then the custom recovery to be safe.
Grab an original android image from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ (matching your currently installed firmware/country), and flash it with ODIN as AP or PDA (depending on the version of ODIN you have), while the phone is in download mode. You may have to flash it twice in a row (I'm not sure why but it works for me).
Then you can flash a custom recovery and whatever rom you wish.

Hmm, that is weird...
I believe the only other thing to try is to flash in ODIN the partition layout (.pit) file as you might have corrupted it somehow... but I have never done this, so I can't give you any personal advice.
The .pit file is in that thread you linked, as the "I9505_pit file.zip" attachment. See Note 2 on what to do with it.
... Otherwise it sounds like its defective.

gt-i9505 stuck at bootloader-dead recovery?

Hi guys! I have an gt-i9505 that suddenly shuted down with a crash image (the image was blured ... Like old tv when the signal wasn't very good) and when i tried to turn on the phone it get stuck at "samsung galaxy s4 ..." and i can't access the recovery ... It sais "recovery booting...." but it stops at this point and stais like that forever
If i shut it down and put it on charge the batery shows up with a lightening mark in it but no animation or percent
Fortunatly download mode is available and i flashed a new custom recovery (cwm) the odin said everything was fine but still the recovery isn't accessable . tried also flashing a stock rom but same problem no accessable recovery and the phone is still stuck at s4 logo ...
Any help?
A stock ROM from sammobile.com is flashed in download mode, not recovery mode so it doesn't matter if the phone has no recovery installed.

I know that but why it can't boot then? Ans what about recovery, Flaahing a stock rom gives you a stock recovery but the phone can't get into any recovery...
Can this be a hardware problem?
You flashed a stock ROM with pit?

No, i don't know how to do it, a link with some installation tips and downloads would be more than thankfull
...............................................................
I flashed cwm recovery again with odin and I got into recovery , wiped data and cache but when I restarted the phone it got stuck again at bootloader and now I can't access the recovery again.... I think that volume up and power buttons are broken somehow...
Flashed again the stock rom , same problem , nothing changed...
A few ideas would be great!
I'm pretty sure it's a hardware problem. The phone doesn't simply shut down for no reason, unless some hardware part was failing.
Sounds like the same problem I have (https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/help/s4-boot-i9505-t3529543)
I would also be interested in how to install stock ROM with pit.

If they flashed successfully, you only need to turn the phone off completely and then enter into recovery mode manually as in doing the gesture to go into twrp

Samsung On7 Pro stuck on a boot loop even after reinstalling firmware.

I had recently purchased the Samsung Galaxy On7 Pro (SM-G600FY) (India) and it seemed to work fine for about 10 days. The device is not rooted and it suddenly went into a boot loop while I was using Spotify. The phone will not enter recovery mode and proceeds to boot infinitely when I try to use the key combination. However, the device was able to enter download mode and I used Odin to flash the stock firmware. Odin displayed successful results but the device continues to be stuck on a boot loop. Looking for any sort of solution at the moment. Thank you!

Boot to stock recovery and factory reset and wipe cache partition then reboot and see if it still bootloops.
The next time you install an app and it causes a bootloop, all you have to do is boot the device into "safe mode", safe mode only boots the stock system apps and doesn't load the apps you've installed, then you can just go and uninstall the app that caused the bootloop like you would uninstall any other user app.

Flashing with Odin doesn't erase your user data unless what you flash contains an upgraded/downgraded bootloader. Your user data is still there. In other words, Spotify is still there causing the issue it caused to begin with, even after flashing stock.
Try what I said, try booting to "safe mode" and then just delete Spotify.
If that doesn't work, try flashing your stock firmware but this time, find a copy of the PIT for you model number and flash it along with the stock firmware. The PIT will erase all partitions(removing Spotify in the process) before flashing the firmware.

Go to Sammobile .com Or samsung-updates .com and enter your model number
Or
Do a Google search for:
"Stock firmware for (your model number)"
If it's available, that should find it.
