LeeDrOid Oreo vs MaximusHD Oreo? - HTC U11 Guides, News, & Discussion

Got bored of long time without update so got courage to try custom ROM, I'm into Sense so I'm looking for 2 best Sense-based ones, Leedroid and Maximus.
Could anyone who have experience with them, preferably both explanation main differences, and their respective pro's and cons for themselves?
Big thanks.

Thank you, but can you please give me a link?
You can find all in the development thread. Find your own preference. You can flash new ROM anytime anywhere.
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
Look in the Desire HD ROM section for all ROMs.
I have no experience of the Cyanogenmod ROMS, but you can also consider the Revolution and LeeDroid ROMs. They are well built and stable, and you can choose versions with or without Sense.
Order the posts in that section by number of posts, and you´ll quickly see which are the most popular ROMs.
Popularity does not = the best choice for your specific needs. I´d suggest flash a Rom, play with it for an hour (don´t bother customising), try another, and so on.
In terms of performance, battery drain, read through the threads to get a feeling. The most popular ROMs shouldn´t give you problems there anyway, they're all tuneable via overclock settings.
The more you customise the first ROM, the less you´ll want to change
Take a Titanium Backup of all apps and data, then for example to get everything across follow this guide carefully: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/pr...an-install-restore-using-titanium-backup.html
Bear in mind the data structure in the new ROM will probably be different from your current one, so it makes sense to follow those steps carefully.
To give DHD / Rom newcomers a better idea and a little inspiration..
List of current XDA roms.
Some rom screenshots.
(Sorry for the plug to my own site but it was made to help people with exactly your question.)
CyanogenMod is the most popular one and most people use it (including newcomers).
But I'm using MIUI.US 1.9.2 and I do recommend it. It runs smooth and stable, with good performance and battery life.
It's all to your decision though. Not every roms are suitable for everyone. You can take a look at the comments and reviews.
You may also download different roms through ROM Manager app from market.
I think the most stable and smooth rom is ARHD 5.2.6. It is fully stock with Sense 2.1. If You want Sense 3.0, try VU 2.35. It isn't so smooth as ARHD, but have better battery life and of course full Sense 3.0 (pyramid base)
I think "Best Rom" is different from person to person...battery, performance, features ect...a good place to look is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1079108
ARHD 5.2.6 ...as smooth as butter really..with sense 3 addons installed...but if you really want the whole sense 3 experience go for coredroid v8 or virtuous unity v2.35...you are soon gona be a flashaholic!
Try the roms, read the reviews and make your own choice. Look for the rom that is best for you

I recommended VU 2.35 for you if you need better battery life with enought smooth display...
but everyone have a different result depend on their setting...that's why I love android
we use same ROM but get a different result and sensation
No question !
Mike´s Revolution HD official Sense 3 6.1.0
Gotta say, liking the latest Android Revolution. CM7 was good as well.
RCMix3D if you want sense 3.5. I use it myself and im very happy with it.

ROM recommendations

Hi all,
Currentely I'm using Leedroid ROM, it's my first custom rom. Becouse of lack of any recent updates I decided to swith to some other rom. I really love Lee's philosophy and tweaks so I'm looking for sense 3.5 rom developed in similar to Lee's way. Two most important things to me is stablility and smoothness.
Which rom would you recommend me?
If you like Sense 3.5 based ROM, I would recommend you Virtuous Affinity (http://www.virtuousrom.com/). This ROM is great, very stable, and battery life just amazing compared to other Sense 3.5 based ROM I tried before this (ER3BUS XL 3.5).
But if you want stock Sense 3.0 feel without any crazy mod in terms of stock graphic and user interface like Lee's ROM, have a great stability, speed, and performance I suggest you to try Android Revolution HD (ARHD).
One thing I didn't like from other custom ROM for DHD beside those two are the other dev is trying so hard to modify the Sense interface, in my opinion it's kind of bad move since it's ruin the whole Sense experience, because not everybody had the same kind of taste as the dev. So, without any hesitation, I suggest you to go for Virtous Affinity or Android Revolution HD. They are the best.
coredroid is also very good, heavily tweaked for performance...plus it has got sense 3.5
And what can you say about Virtuous Affinity in comparison with Runnydroid?

I know that virtuous does some good job when it comes to rom, from the experience of ICS rom, virtuous is the way to go kind of thing and i'll be flashing it too to check it out
Im using the RunnyDroid v4
Its fast, have a long battery life and sens 3.5 with the wonderful quick lunch widget
this is the best ROM i have ever tried
here is a link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351003
im thinking about tryin a new rom while waiting for a new arhd rom to grace us. for me arhd is going to take some beating as its always near perfect for me. what should i try people???? thinking about enery roms as they where the best in the good old hd2 days?
Trying Virtuous Affinity, rock solid till now, maybe a bit slower than Leedroid 3.3.3, but it's sense 3.5.
I think that also I would try runnydroid.
best DHD rom
For me RCMix3D v4 i the most stable with sense and CM7.1 no sense.
The best Sense 3.5 ROM I have tried is Mikrunny, which is basically stock looking but has a lot of tweaks available. Performance is very good and battery is pretty good too
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406912
Just try out a few for yourself. Roms ate like cars. Some people will swear by Chevy's and other will say they are crap. Try for yourself to see the best one for you!
There are a bunch of good ones here. The devs are all awesome!
I got your 10 char right here
abso Bacon Mod
Have tried all sense 3 / 3.5 Roma, never tried coredroid or cygenomod. Best as to be either capys rcmix roms, or memnocs smartdroid which is heavily tweaked/smoothest Rom ever tried.

Hey. I started with leedroid too. Since then have used rcmix 3d v4 and coredroid v9.2. All good roms. I prefer coredroid out of the 3. I am using LC s ics at present. Its still needs a little work but its stable, quick and the battery life is the best of all the rooms I've used.

I know many people love HTC phones for sense, but if you are willing to go out on a bit of a limb, I would HIGHLY suggest Virtuous Quattro, which is still in active development. Nearly everything is working (camera needs a bit of work) and it is wicked fast. Flashed it about a week ago and I will never again meander to Android < 4.0

Don't agree. It's too unstable and it's rightly labelled RC.
There's just too many things aren't working properly.
Just went back to ARHD - the most stable rom I've ever used.
I'm about to try Virtuous_affinity.
The only super stable sense 3.5 rom running as stock as possible as HTC have released it is E3RBUS XL, very good battery life too
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1357127
I like the Android revolution, and am trying to install the rom on DHD
[ROM] ER3BUS XL3.5 [GB 2.3.5][Sense 3.5][Runnymede 1.22.461.2][20.01.2012]
OK, so I am not the most experianced modder yet, tried Cyanogen last year and did not try anything since because of it. Then LeeDroid 3.0.3 on a recommendation yesterday, which died when using BT.
Stumbled across [ROM] ER3BUS XL3.5 [GB 2.3.5][Sense 3.5][Runnymede 1.22.461.2][20.01.2012] and awed...
fast and so far everything works as prescribed and expected
I am not sure if I want to look any further.
Only thing I'd like to mention, since the cook JSLEnterprises forgot: the ROM will change the FS to ext4. As far as I can tell, this is NO issue what's however, except it will completely wipe and reformat the internal memory (SD stays untouched) so make sure you have a GOOD backup before you start.
Thanks from me JSLEnterprises, some awesome work!
Tom
ER3BUS XL3.5 is currently the greatest gift we have for DHD, the DHD is never the same again with this ROM running on it, you can boost its FPS it to high heavens with ultra smooth rosie and supercharger
What is the difference between virtuous sense 3.5 rom and Erebus XL?
Yours truly.

Best Customs ROM for DHD

Hi
I'll like to know what custom ROM would be considered the best for DHD, what I'm particular about are the battery enhancement and enhancement in speed/performance. Would really love somn with a buttery smooth performance.
Thanks
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA
It all depends on your personal taste.
Do you persé want sense, or is a AOSP ROM fine too?
Try some of them and decide after that.
Once you get the hang of flashing a ROM it's no big deal, and your DHD gives you a feeling of a new phone every time you change it!!!
Most ROM's give you a better batterylife than stock, look in the posts of your ROM of choice
And with a new ROM you can safely overclock for a buttery experience
Good luck
It depens on your preferences.
For sense based roms i like most RunnyDroid or Er3bus XL
For non sense give a try to MIUI or lastest CM nightly.
Regards.
Android revolution hd is best sense rom hands down. Cyanogen for stock Android and ice cold sandwich for stock ics

I'm on smartdroid-T since 3 months. Its based on sense 3.5 (sensation XL) and the best rom i ever had on my DesireHD. 2 days battery life and smooth as a sgsII and it has all the Tweaks and mods that I need already installed (rcmix tweaks etc). I'll stay on it untill official ICS custom roms are coming.
i want to say
smartdroid-T maybe adjust you i think
IMHO....Rcmix 4.0, Smartdroid and Energy are the best.
All work perfect and fast.
Sense rocks!!
Matt
Thanks guys, I'm really grateful for the help and insight offered by y'all! Appreciate! :-D

how about Coredroid by Sergio76?
i used is seems very good on my DHD....
My personal advice would be to stick with any sense 3.5 rom for a while until official sense 4 rom is leaked and devs adapt that rom then you will have no reason to stay on sense 3.5...but for now all 3.5 roms are great so you can just pick any...and if you want to go minimalism then get: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1587249
i like this
HTC Desire HD ARHD 7.3
I prefer sense 3.5 roms. I tried them all and in my opinion the ER3BUS XL is the best. Very very fast and smooth and battery life is excellent

in my opinion the moderator will close this thread cz there isnt a best rom it all depends on ur choice friend
i use ARHD for a long time , i think its offical rom battery life and smooth will be great !
I used to use ARHD from version 2 right up to version 6.x but since then i have been using Coredroid mainly because it looks nicer to me however like a few have said the ARHD does have a better battery life span but i can live with that as i have it on charge at night while on the xbox, its never charging when i sleep or during the day, a daily charge is fine for me

Which ROMS would you recommend?

Hello all,
no, this is not another "which is a best ROM" topic I know the best ROM is stock
I recently rooted again my DHD and started playing with ROMs. I would like to try some different ROMs - of every "kind", i.e. no need to try all ICS Sense ROMS, since they're all similar (1st ROM i tried was Revolution and I couldn't tell the difference between it and stock)
So, my question is which ROMS should I try that are different - like unique have different feel to them, and pretty stable? I'd like one MIUI, one Sense 4, cyanogen etc? (is that all?)
thanx,
D.
These kind of posts are becoming viral lately.
Can't understand why.
Do you people read, at least, the other posts titles already in here?
MIUI v4, CM7/9/10 (Gingerbread, ICS & Jelly Bean respectively) BlackIce1.60 is my daily, Virtuous Infinity (Sense 4 with working Camera)

Well my question was (as I stated) NOT which is the best ROM. I just wanted some experienced users to tell me which kinds of ROMs there are, I'm not gonna try all of them. That is what the boards are for, aren't they? To exchange tips and experiences... If you mind, why don't you just skip the post?
NeroXL sense 3.6 ROM by Paschal.
Omnivision sensors working after flashing the fix. And better battery life. Personally like sense 3.6 more than sense 4.

I am a big fan of Randoms Jelly Bean rom currently in beta9. The features blow ICS out of the water in my opinion. I love it =) It's worth a look.
I'm running RandomBlame's JellyBean beta 9 with no problems and I'm loving it currently. Ice Cold Sandwich is my favorite ICS ROM. I didn't find a sense ROM I liked. Revolution was laggy and not my cup of tea. I'm pretty happy with basic android anyway.

Except that there arent that many roms to try?
There's 1 jelly bean ROM - jelly time
1 miui ICS ROM - MIUI.us
1 Aosp ROM - existz aospx
2 AOKP ROMS Paranoid android /ice cold
1 sense 4 rom. By virtuous
1 sense 4a rom.
All these have a pretty different experience though.I'm not sure if its wrong to create such posts, I just think it would be better/more efficient to just check put the ROM threads yourself. They probably more detailed than the info you can find here anyway
Virtuous Infinity v1.31.0 Alpha2 :laugh::good:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792074&page=112
I would recommend
Nero XL (sense 3.6/ICS. Camera works for all sensors, very very stable, but pure stock)
MIUI RD (Or any of the gingerbread ones, I didn't think the ICS one was worth it)
Energy (of all the GB/Sense 3.5 ROMs I stayed with this for 2 weeks, pretty damn long for a flashaholic like me).
Other ROMs I don't use a lot, but I hear good things from/I've used with success but I didn't keep: Runny Xtreme Surprise, ARHD, Ice Cold Sandwich, Redemption, Virtuous Sense 4/ICS, Jellytime.
BTW, check this thread out for a speed test of different ROMs. All creds to Apuabest
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1791803
My chioce was : IceColdSandwich, Virtuous Infinity, CyanogenMod 7.2 NIGHTIES (all was ok, best rom, imho, but i like ICS UI style), and JellyTime (some bugs, but battery life is amazing).
There is no sense 3 roms, because I hate HTC Sense 3 UI; I can't help witch choosing sense 3 rom, sorry.
Types of ROMs
This is my list:
1. Existz AOSP IceCreamSandwich for AOSP ROMs
2. Virtuous Infinity v1.31.0 Alpha2 for SENSE 4 ROMs
Existz ROM is bug free (at least for my experience)
The Virtuous ROM is very beautiful (SENSE 4 is fantastic), but for DHD bluetooth audio doesn't work during phone calls.
XGS series by krisjanne, it's very good ROM

[POLL] BEST Rom you are using

Hi,
I just want to know, according to you what is the best Rom you experience on Redmi Note 7 ? (basing on user experience, number of bugs, features, battery drain, responsivity ...)
It is just a personnal opinion and does not reflect the quality of rom for which the developers do a very good job
Tried Pixel Experience, Bootloggers, and AOSP extended and from those three AoSP is the best so far, best battery life, performance and fewest bugs.
Xiaomi.eu the best imo
Global stock excellent for me
Enviado desde mi Redmi Note 7 mediante Tapatalk
I'm interested in MicroG/NoGApps [do not have the device (yet)]. Usually I prefer LOS, so if official LOS exists the MicroG builds from download.lineage.microg.org - because of hal1/3 issue on lavender official LOS does not look nearby. So best MicroG ROM options to avoid deodex services.jar seem to be [OFFICIAL][9.0]AospExtended v6.6 or Havoc-OS-2.6-[9.0]-[Official] or [9.0][OFFICIAL]crDroid v5.6[Lavender]?
Regarding Problems with video recording & WhatsApp video call and proximity sensor all those ROMs are the same?
Xiaomi.eu it's been a good ROM, can hit around 8~9 hours of SOT, I've readed sometimes up to 10hours
I wish you separated miui into 1.) stock and 2.) xiaomi eu.
which I can't try yet as I'm still waiting to have my bootloader unlocked.
Conclusion: Don't be a tester for underdeveloped ROM, stay safe and stable with stock ROM.

Are you serious? No one is holding a gun against your head and telling you to install roms. Those people spend hours and hours working so we can have multiple choices (not everyone likes miui) and they dont get a cent for their job. At least someone can do is install rom and give their feedback. These days roms are not making too much difference when it comes to overall performance cause phones have way better hardware and specs. But not so long ago when phones had 512mb of ram and you get them with fully bloated stock roms the only way of having a normal phone was to root and install a custom rom. So no need to trash talk if you dont like it dont use it. I personally havent tried single rom so far (tho i got my note 7 few weeks ago). I settled for xiaomi eu cause its stable with everything working and i dont have time to flash roms at the moment. But i will always be fan of pure android and OP if you like pure android and a bit smoother experience go for custom roms also battery will sure be better there. I heard evira kernel is good also you could try pixel experience (less customization) , aex or havoc for more customization.

Learn the difference between trash talk and stating facts.
You don't even use custom ROM.
Sure, I also want everybody else to use custom ROMs so they get developed more quickly?
I am surprised that lineageOs has not more vote on this topic. It was a very popular Rom on other devices but I think there is other good competitors on RN7. I will have a look on AospExtended some day as it seems very adopted.
I previously switched to custom rom 'cause I had some issues with MIUI. I don't know if it is always the case but MIUI work smooth with default launcher but when using alternative laucher (for example Nova), I had issues with notifications counter. It seems that MIUI kill apps severly in order to have a good battery life. For me, notification badges was killed also fitness app like Samsung Health or google fit. It was not the case with Mi Fit.
Even if I set the correct property in the app control, it seems that xiaomi apps always have always been managed better like if they have some heigher privilege.
I'm very happy in Stock Global MIUI 10 stable.
Rooted.
Evira Kernel.
FDE.AI Magisk Module.
Underclocked.
Debloated.
Happy about it.
I enjoy visual appearance very much and MIUI is just beautiful to my eyes.
To me:
- Xiaomi.eu is the best if you can't live without the MIUI stuff. It has almost all the best MIUI can offer, removes most privacy issues from stock, and adds more useful features.
- For custom ROMs:
+ I love AOSPExtended since it has just enough customizations to play with. I have it on my RN7 (lavender) and RN4X (mido) and it works perfectly on both. I love the way my 2 phones look and work almost the same.
+ ResurrectionRemix has a crazy amount of customization options. I used to have it on my RN4X. I've never had it on my RN7 but it's a very popular ROM out there.
+ LineageOS is great if you enjoy minimalism. I have it on my ancient phones to keep them light and clean.
You can try different ROMs to see which one fits your needs or you can stay on stock MIUI. You have the choice. Just pay respect to developers as they devote their time and effort to create and improve ROMs.
Cheers! :fingers-crossed:
Syberia.. Just because its battery life.
Agreed to the person before me, always respect the DEV.. Nowdays people tend to ask too much and have lil patience.
So far am going with miui eu global official.Have tried global worldwide official and chinese official and find the eu global the best. Also tried the eu custom rom revolution x aosp extended bootleggers havoc and pixel experience and found aosp extended to be least buggy for me.When it comes to sound and camera especially adding gcam the official miui eu is better but try the roms for yourself and decide.
Is there any noticeable difference between global version number and eu version number?? Or the 10.6.0 and 10.3.3 are the same thing with small differences??

The eu 10.3.3 is a custom rom based on the chinese rom with all the chinese apps debloated.I found it a bit buggy with apps like what's app.You also have the eeu global 10.5.0 which I find the best after trying worldwide global chinese miui and eu custom rom.Eeu global has less adds and is more debloated than worldwide global.Best to try them and decide which suits.
after trying many roms, stock eu is best...some apps not work on custom roms, so stock with evira pure 1.4 kernel is best ?
