Battery decreased after update - LG V20 Questions & Answers

So before I updated my phone battery life was amazing.
But when I updated my phone to the latest update, battery has decreased.
I have not done anything different when I updated.
Anyone else?
Fix?

The same here. After January safety update - soft ver.: v10k-idn-xx, my battery SOT decreased from 5-6 hours to 2-3! Before update if I unplug phone from charger at 22:00, at 6:00 it was 97-99% of battery, now in the same conditions at the morning I got 84-88%. Now I'm waiting for oreo with the hope that they fixed it
My phone is H990DS.

Battery after update

Any one having problems with there battery after the update. Android system useing 66% of my battery on idle. Never had battery problems before but after the update. Major battery issues. Anyone else having problems
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
I have the same issue. Full re-charge last night. It was in sleep mode for 4 hours and it was at 93%. Checked battery usage, and Google Maps was at 27% - Display 30%.
Seems odd to me since i never opened up GMaps.
Maps has been OK for me. But drained 40% in 5 hours with no use
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
you guys all stock rom? or oc?
Mine was even better. the first night after the 3.1 upgrade it stayed at 100% for couple of hours...
in fact now even with oc tiamat 1.4.2 kernel, it is 1% / hour if very light use, 10%-15%/hour if watching videos.
Stock here. auto-screen brightness. no task killers. Only change post 3.1, was buying Bang Bang Racing.
Stock haven't changed anything

Just the update

Sorry, mine was wifi xoom. How about yours? 3G model?
after the initial 3.1 upgrade i did feel like my battery was dying fast but I did not have to charge the Xoom From Thursday Night until Sunday Night and I used it all weekend.
With Tiamat installed and SetCPU lowering CPU usage while screen is off, I dont think I'll ever need to charge my xoom again

Sorry my experience may not speak for 3G users.
My 3G Xoom depletes itself at about 3 times the speed of my ipad...playing angry birds or simply reading rss news feeds. From 100% to 29% in a few hours.
Do you guys have any background updates running? I have the wifi xoom and mine last 2 days with medium usage with background updates on.... just curious...
Sent from my HTC Evo
Nope no updates. So weird because battery lasted forever before the update
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
Weird... just checked mine, android is at 18%, maps at 27% screen 28%, idle 15%
Sent from my HTC Evo
My battery drain is about the same
Ok just checked mine. Android system . 49. Screen 29. Everything below 5% what the heck is going on
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
I had the same problem with the battery running down very quickly. Did a factory reset, reinstalled my apps and everything's back to normal. Good battery life again.

My battery is even better after the update.
im feeling the fast battery drain too. Wifi only but I can deal with it till I learn how to root it....

Battery fix for ics

Any news on the battery fix?? Because 4.0.3 is terrible. **

let the battery fully discharge and then charge it. I was having a similar situation but I found out that the battery charge wasn't displaying correctly. A complete discharge recharge cycle improve the situation, although it still doesn't so charge up to 100%, stays at 93/94%.

I tried this method but it doesn't bring any improvements. Is there anything else I can do to fix this battery issues.
Thanks.
Did you do a full wipe after you updated to 4.0.3? I'm seeing about the same battery usage after the update (maybe even longer battery life). There are some apps that are not very compatible with ICS that could be causing problems as well.

Yes, I did a full wipe using the flashable ROM-Wiper and Dalvik-Wiper.
As for apps, I don't have many apps. I just use this phone for messaging, RSS reading, and some little browsing.
Why don't you do a manual wipe. That might be better. Also mess around with some CPU and governor settings (which includes flashing a new kernel and ROM).

Odd, mine seems to be a lot better battery wise since 4.3... You might want to use BetterBatteryStats to pinpoint the cause (maybe some wakelocks etc.)
Flash a custom kernel.
Yes, me too, battery seems worse than in 4.2.2. Or is it just because that I use it more now i.e. to restore apps etc?
Really? Oh no!!
I'm still waiting on my ota update

Im gonna go back to 4.1.2 because it has the best battery life which 4.2.2 and 4.3 doesnt have
me too. Really hoped android 4.3 fixed this problem ;(
been having this battery drain problem ever since 4.2.2
Do you guys have this drain problem in IDLE mode? because I do..
rough estimate, it drains like 7 to 8% in one hour when my device is in SLEEP mode..
But to all this, what apps or services seems to be draining the battery?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I don't know what your talk in about, I'm getting better battery life than I ever did before. I'm UV by 25 running faux kernel (u21), and clean ROM. I just removed all the gapps I don't use, and don't run anything that needs background syncing. Did you guys do clean installs(full flash via fastboot)?
I also turned off daydream which I am suspicious of, yet I have no proof that it does anything

Thats the problem, I hard factory resetted several times and leave it alone with no new apps
installed before.. disabled NFC, my mobile connection.. and still it drains like a leaky hose in idle mode..
some friendly ppl here suggested installing greenify and betterbatterystats and stuff..
but it doesnt really help me pinpoint whats doing the draining.. maybe because I am not sure what I am looking at..
end result, i even flashed (nearly bricked my nexus on several occasions too) and still the drain is there..
I thought my battery is dying or something.. but my nexus is barely 6 months old.. and battery status shows it as GOOD..
so yea, I am stumped..
Yeap.
I am having the same problem with the battery, the battery is spent very quickly, I have less applications installed and lately I have not used the phone to see if it was me and nothing. It may be because manually install the OTA?
Does the rule of waiting a few days/recharge cycles to get a true sense of the battery not apply to Nexus devices like it does to Samsung devices?

The initial battery drain after flashing can be attributed to apps conducting their first sync and the kernel "settling." This only takes a matter of hours at best. After that, one can get a fairly accurate idea of how their battery is being tasked.

i used to get horrible battery drain until I disabled google now.
I'm also experiencing severe battery drain after taking the 4.3 update on my stock, unrooted Nexus 7. It's been 3 days and no improvement.

I too face same problem, and the App sucking most of the battery is "Kernel (Android OS)", second one is "Launcher", "Phone" and "Android System".
Any suggestions solutions found for this battery issue?

mm-qcamera-daemon draining battery significantly

only happened just now when wifi was on, then I felt phone was hot, battery drained about 10% in 20+mins...
then I found out mm-qcamera-daemon drained over 50% of total battery usage...
google & could not find any solution
any1 can kindly help?
many thanks!

I am hoping battery life regulates. I have had phone on charger all day. I am getting about 15% battery drain in 30minutes, sitting idle.
I have already factory reset my device, and will contact Tmo/Samsung this evening to see if there are known issues and what i can do help.

So after a few days, of using phone as usual, it has regualted itself back to normal.
Not sure what was hogging the battery for a couple days. But all is good now.
Now, i did the same update for my wife 2 days ago, and she had no issues.
So, maybe i caught a bad install.
