AT&T ZTE Maven 3 "Z835" Unlock and move to H20 - ZTE Maven 3 Questions & Answers

I picked up a z835 for 30 bux at the dollar store and moved it over to H20. A phone phreak buddy of mine helped me out with this and I figured I would share what he showed me.
I sent the IMEI over to attunlockcode.com it took them a few hours to send me a unlock code..
I slipped a cut down Nextel Sim in the phone and booted it up..
I entered the unlock code provided by attunlockcode.com
I went to
Settings> Mobile Networks> Access Point Names>
And clicked the plus
I had to play with several possible settings he had on a pick list but this is the final settings that got LTE data and MMS working..

Long Story Short. Just a Few Minutes Ago, I Unlocked My AT&T ZTE Maven 2 Just by Using An App from The Play Store. Within Minutes It Gave Me an Unlock Code to Enter and I Tried It With My Verizon SIM Card and Next Thing I Knew. I Had Successfully Unlocked My Phone and It Works Just Fine With My Verizon SIM Card and I Have 4G LTE.

Activate MyTouch with Canadian Carrier

Hello guys,
Just got an unlocked T-Mobile MyTouch and I'm trying to get past the dreaded initial sign in. What I found so far is that I need to create a new APN for my carrier. Mine is Fido and the values that I've found are the following:
Name: Fido
APN: internet.fido.ca
Proxy: leave empty
Port: leave empty
Username: fido
Password: fido
Server: leave empty
MMSC: ttp://mms.fido.ca it's http but being a new user I can't post links
MMS Proxy: 205.151.11.13
MMS Port: 80
MMC: 302
MNC: 370 (on new sim cards, use 37 on old sim cards)
APN Type: leave empty
I've tried adding this new APN, bought a one day Data Pass from Fido and I still can't connect to the internet. Any Ideas?
When I'm searching for networks, it only shows Rogers Wireless. Is that normal?
When I try to connect to it, it doesn't let me.
Finally, beside the battery sign and the signal strength sign, I have a sim card with an exclamation sign.
Thanks for the help!
I was looking into rooting the phone by creating a goldcard and then downgrading to 1.5 but it seems that I have to be able to check USB Debugging within Android, meaning that I have to get passed the activation screen.
I've also tried the following:
Name: Fido
APN: internet.fido.ca
Proxy: leave empty
Port: leave empty
Username: fido
Password: fido
Server: leave empty
MMSC: empty
MMS Proxy: empty
MMS Port: empty
MMC: 302
MNC: 370 (on new sim cards, use 37 on old sim cards) tried both
APN Type: leave empty
Any ideas?
Is my phone locked?
Hello guys,
This might sound like a silly question, but I just bought a M3G off ebay and when I boot it, I get a screen which says SIM network unlock PIN and 2 buttons "unlock" and "dismiss". If I click dismiss, the screen goes away and it prompts me to sign in.
The auction stated that the phone was unlocked. Is my phone locked or not?
Sounds to me like it is.
Thanks for letting me know!
Ok, turns out that my phone is locked and that when I try to add an APN and click save, it does not show up in the list and I'm not able to then select it.
Is that because my phone is locked?
Is it also why it does not let me connect to my network when I search for networks?

verify new PRL

Hey all,
I am new to phone flashing etc.
I grabbed a CDMA Galaxy Tab on ebay that came from Sprint. I want to hook it up to the Bell Mobility network. I used cdma tools to break the code and change the SPC to all 0's. I then used QPST to enter the latest Bell PRL I could find (31402).
How can I verify that it was done correctly? The tutorial I used said to dial 611 and if the Bell network picks up everything is fine. Cannot do this since cannot dial on the Tab. I checked the service status of the phone and it says it has the correct PRL version but that the nework is Sprint. Is this normal? Could this be because I have not activated the phone with Bell yet?
I am also wondering if it is possible to flash this CDMA tab with the GSM firmware of the Bell tab?
thanks,
John
Well I took the phone to a Bell mobility store. We managed to get the ESN# activated on their system but he was having a hard time finding a data plan for it. He said all of the data plans are GSM now and when he tried to activate it a CDMA data plan it threw an error in his system. He ended up activating a a pre-paid package and gave me the Min numbers I needed.
Long story short, I entered the numbers needed but the phone will not hook onto the system. The status display of the phone shows the correct device numbers and the correct PRL. mobile netowkr is EvDo Rev.A, service state says in service, it's not roaming, but the mobile network state is disonnected.
any ideas?
You setup an APN for the Bell network?
Code:
Name: Bell Internet
APN: pda.bell.ca
Proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
Port: 80
MMSC: http://mms.bell.ca/mms/wapenc
MMS proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
MMS port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 610
APN type: Internet + mms
Authentication Type: none
VERY surprised you could even use a foreign ESN on Bell, they were hell on wheels about not allowing US devices (or even Telus devices) on their CDMA network (else I would have had a Droid X last summer instead of a GSM Galaxy S).
Also, you'll do some nasty things to your Tab if you flash a GSM version on it.

thanks for the info. I am going to take it into a Bell store tomorrow. I spoke to a tech service advisor on phone. She told me that the phone number of the tab is not registered to my name for some reason so she couldn't help me. However, she implied that there is a simple fix and that the problem was something like service not having been activated.
I understand that Bell was quite stingy with the CDMA stuff. Other people have been telling me that Bell won't help me because we must have tricked them into accepting the phone in their system. All I can say is that there was no tricker. Bell employ simply inserted the ESN number in the computer program and it accepted it.
I am wondering if I could have the phone hooked up under a talk/data smartphone plan and have a credit for the phone part
I am extremely new to this! how would I go about changing the Apn?
thanks!!!
I have been looking for a way to change the APN but I cannot find a way. I looked in the manual and it said to change it I need to go to Settings-->Wireless and Network---->Mobile Networks-->Access point names. I did what it said to do but Access Point Names is not listed in Mobile Networks.
any ideas?

[Q] AT&T iPhone 5 w/ LTE to Nexus 4

Hello all,
I've had a heck of a time to get my Nexus 4 data speeds where they should be.
I originally had, and still have, an iPhone 5 with the nanoSIM. I purchased a nanoSIM to microSIM adapter on Amazon and slipped it into my Nexus. The WAP settings allow SMS/MMS & phone to work, but data is dismal at best. I get all of 0.1Mbps/10Kbps per second. It's awful.
I've scoured the web, XDA-developers, Android Central, etc., all with no luck. I've got at least 5 APN's that I've tried and tested, rebooting my phone after each APN switch, and the speedtest (dot) net app still shows 0.1Mbps/10Kbps per second download.
My current settings are:
If you have an iPhone 5 LTE plan shared with a new Nexus 4 and want to swap SIMS without calling AT&T just create the following APN on your Nexus and you'll be fully operational on both devices.
#Nexus4 #iPhone5
Name: (Anything you want.)
APN: phone
Proxy:
Port:
Username:
Password:
Server:
MMSC: h t t p : / / mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type:
APN type: default,mms,supl

These are my current settings.
Is there anything I need to do to provision my SIM to work with the Nexus 4? Is it because my data plan is an "iPhone" data plan as far as AT&T is concerned? Help!

from my understanding, Verizon Galaxy s5 comes factory unlocked as well as all other verizon LTE phones, although, my t mobile SIM is not working for the phone, i cannot contact verizon as it is on the blacklist for them, i tested with AT&T SIM and the phone does work for GSM so why doesnt it work for my t mobile sim? is it a faulty SIM? i have contacted samsung and t mobile about this and they were no help

There's now a IMEI blacklist that of the major U.S. carriers all share (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, as well as some regional carriers). That means blacklisted Verizon phones may not work on T-Mobile or AT&T (in the past, it only meant they wouldn't work on Verizon). Perhaps AT&T hasn't updated their system with the most recent info to include the phone you have while T-Mobile has.
There's always a chance that it's something else, but I have no problems with my S5 (which isn't blacklisted anywhere) on T-Mobile's network with an active T-Mobile SIM.

Do you have a T-Mobile sim card? You can use AT&T unlocked phones on T-Mobile networks but not 100% usage. AT&T phones do not use 1700, or 12 LTE band.

Yes. Of course. Talk and text are working, just unable to get data.
I went to the T-mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge forum, and Flashed T-Mobile Firmware, using a modified version of ODIN, and a PIT file.
My phone now boots up as a T-Mobile Phone, In Settings, About Device shows as SM-G9
All At&T bloatware is gone, and now have T-Mobile apps.
I even received a Software update push from T-Mobile, which downloaded and installed.
I never had to root. Android pay works, Data works.
Basically just converted a SM-G935A into a SM-G935T
Here's a link to the thread if anyone else needs to do this.
