Flashed stock firmware, now not connecting to Verizon network - Moto G5 Plus Questions & Answers

hello all,
i purchased the US variant with 4/64 gb, unlocked the bootloader, installed twrp and magisk, and installed OMNI rom this morning. i decided to go back to stock shortly after, so i flashed the stock zip that is flashable with twrp, and i failed to wipe it. it then would not boot, so i followed this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/how-to/solution-to-flash-stock-romfactory-t3691396
it worked and i have the stock os back, but now it will not connect to the Verizon network at all. ive done at least two OTA updates, and I am now on NPNS25.137-93-4.
does anybody have any solutions or fixes?

[Q] Phone rebooting again and again into TWRP recovery! Please Help :(

I have a LG G2 D802 international SIM unlocked version. I purchased it from Amazon UK and currently I was using it in INDIA.
The phone came with KITKAT 4.4.2 pre-installed in it. I rooted the phone using Cloudy's method of Autorec by downgrading my kernel.
The phone was rooted successfully and I was on stock rom. I also installed TWRP recovery successfully.
The problem arose when the phone automatically started updating today. It downloaded a new software version of size 139MB(approx) and promised to enhance APPS(only). I was not aware of the fact that this shall not be done and I agreed to update the phone. As soon as the phone restarted it automatically booted into TWRP recovery. Since then it keeps on rebooting into TWRP recovery mode, whenever I reboot it from TWRP recovery.
I tried wiping data, formatting data, system everything I could get my hands on. Nothing worked. The sad part is I did not take a back up of my stock rom. Now, I have lost all my data and the phone just wont boot into system. What do I do now? Can anyone please suggest me something? I would be really really grateful.
If I have posted this in the wrong section or violated any of the rules in the forum, I beg moderator's pardon.
Update: I am extremely sorry for not searching the forum (Since I was not aware of the term OTA) . I found this guide and it helped me. I finally can boot into my phone

I finally can rest in peace.

Unlocked Bootloader And TWRP flashed but OTA wont go through

Hi there guys so , as stated above I have bought my Moto g4 a while now and today I got the official nougat greece ( i live in greece) OTA , so I downloaded it and it went to restart opened TWRP and then nothing.
My question is should I flash the stock recovery , or can i find the update file in TWRP and just flash it and also do i need to wipe if so.
Can't wait for nougat on this poor man's phone , thanks.
Edit: Forgot to mention when i boot to system from TWRP at some point it renders my phone unusable and says " preparing to update" I am guessing the problem is TWRP.

You need to have your phone on the stock recovery and unrooted to update via OTA. I am assuming since you got the OTA notification you have everything else stock?

[Q] XT1768 getting September Security Update

Hello all,
Been a LONG while since I've actively played around with rooting and unlocking an android device. I finally "upgraded" from my very aged Galaxy S4 to the Moto E4 XT1768. I have successfully unlocked the bootloader, got TWRP installed, rooted with Magisk, and gotten Xposed installed with my favorite modules.
This morning, I got a prompt that a new security update is available, and like a noob, I tried to take the update. This resulted in me getting stuck in a loop where the phone only wanted to boot into TWRP. I got that fixed thanks to XDA, got the pending and failing update completely cleared and am booted back into the device normally, and have frozen the moto update service.... but now...
Is there a way without completely flashing back to stock rom? I know how to take titanium or nand/twrp backups, but I feel like this would still be hours of work to go back to stock, flash, re-root restore all apps blah blah. what are the chances of there being a dirty-flashable zip put out at this point?
The way I normally do these type of upgrades is to download the firmware (from here), use fastboot commands to wipe (erase) and flash the needed partitions (everything but data and recovery), boot to TWRP - flash the no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip & root, and then reboot to system - done. It's easy enough for me, but I know some prefer to being able to use a flashable zip in TWRP.
Also, I have to ask - did you get your e4 cheap? It's was replaced by the e5, some other phones seem to be getting replaced like the G6 series (it's gone on clearance at some places), so they can be had cheap.

Flashing back to stock and taking the updates is really the best way. Unless you can find a complete firmware package of the new update which of course takes back to stock as well. Really the only way to do it. @MotoJunkie01 makes some TWRP flashable stock roms. And he also creates the partition updater which updates your oem partition and other important things that can't be done in the Twrp flashable stock ROM.

Speaking of that, @ALI12 just posted a stock firmware package for the NCQS26.69-64-10 build. He gave me approval to use it to update my firmware thread to the latest build, so I'll be updating that OP shortly.

This will be for the XT1766, correct? Or will same build work for XT1768 (me thinks not)?
So what would the easiest/quickest way be to get updated with all of my apps and data intact? Twrp backup of data partition? Or would there be any way to do this without wiping data at all?

If you're going to slash a firmware package you'll want to wipe everything. Especially data. Make a backup of your data first of course. After you flash TWR P you can try restoring your data and see if everything comes back. but everything in your downloads folder and all of that will be gone once you format data to remove encryption again.

IMEI problem on october patch oreo rom (stock moto)

Hey guys, I tried flashing the stock moto oreo rom (october patch) through 1. flashing via fastboot and 2. twrp flashable rom.
Both methods worked but I lost my IMEI, regardless of which method I flashed the rom with.
I had made two EFS & Persist backups (one from resurrection remix rom and one from a twrp nougat june patch rom) and tried to restore them after flashing the moto oreo rom, but no success.
Can anyone help me with this? I really want to use the stock oreo rom!
Please help guys!
What version of twrp?
twrp which error during restore?
Ever flashed someone else's persist file when you were on stock?

Try flashing one of the full flashable zips from that thread, get the last one. But in the installer, do not select firmware.
Hopefully that will get you going again. And no, don't ever install an ota.

Thanks for all your help is there any way to fix OTA updates? like relocking bootloader? or should I just leave that unlocked ?
I just installed \POTTER_NPNS25.137-93-4_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml
and am getting a 3g \ H signal now but its a different sim card and service from original card, seems to be working now
Is it just oreo that screws everything up , I know this is all over but its not very straight forward
im no android expert clearly

Bootloader doesn't matter, can stay unlocked.
And the IMEI/4g problem is Nougat only, never heard of someone who lost something on Oreo or when updating to it.
If you flash latest Oreo firmware for your region (endings with 17-xx are US, 13-xx is for the rest as far as I know) you should be good to go.

Unable to install custom roms

I have a Tab E 8 (SM-T377P) and I cannot get any version of TWRP new than 2.8.7.0 to flash, Magisk will not flash, and no custom roms will install.
I've tried both lineage 15.1 and 16, both the standard and GO versions.
It's on stock firmware, 5.1
I rooted with cfautoroot with Odin 3.10.7.
Hopefully someone has an idea on what I need to do.
:edit:
I was able to get magisk installed by rerooting with cfautoroot and then doing a full unroot and restoring bootimage with supersu. Still can't install any roms though
So I was able to update to Nougat using the rom posted in this thread. It was the ONLY place I was able to find the stock firmware. I was hoping that installing 7.1.1 would put me on a new bootloader/kernel that might allow me to install an Oreo rom.
Still, the only TWRP that I can get to boot is the one posted in this thread, which is 2.8.7. The dev posted links to 3.0.2-1 that do not work, but I've tried multiple different versions of TWRP, and they all boot loop and I have to reinstall 2.8.7 via Odin.
All roms say that they are intended for SM-T377P and cancel, although my device is exactly that.
So, after doing a total wipe and flash back to stock 7.1.1 using Odin, I was able to boot back into Download mode and install the latest version of the TWRP posted in this thread - https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...official-lineageos-16-0-galaxy-tab-e-t3847488
Still won't let me install a custom rom though...
Alright got it up and running on Lineage 16.
I bought this off of eBay to use as a dashboard for my smart home. When I opened it and put it into download mode for the first time, I noticed that it said it was running a custom binary even though everything looked bone stock, it wasn't even rooted. I didn't pay it any mind and went about trying to root it and install TWRP as the dew guides stated. Nothing would work, so I decided to upgrade it to stock 7.1 since it was on 5.1. After I did this, I noticed that in download mode it stated that it was on stock binary and I was able to update to the most recent TWRP for this device. Then I was able to install Lineage and all is well now.
This thread doesn't appear to be getting any traction, but I figured I'd update it in case someone searches a similar issue in the future.

Thank you for documenting your progress.
I am in a similar situation.
I am the original owner of my t377p.
I'm going to try your steps to see if it will work for me.
UPDATE:
Flashing back to Stock and starting the process all over again, as you described above--fixed the problem. I am now running LineageOS16.
Thank you!
I'm glad it worked for you!
That's exactly why I updated the thread, I knew I wouldn't be the last one have this odd issue.
Do you have a copy of twrp the servers are down and I've been trying for week to download it
