Not aware of any apps that do what S Health does. You may probably find some Pedometer app to count steps, BUT I never tried any of them. Here is an example
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wsl.CardioTrainer
NOTE I do not know what this app does/is, try at your own risk.
Regarding what sensors S Health uses, it is likely accelerometer, gyro, compass, temperature/humidity, barometer. The use of SO many sensors makes me think there is no other app that can work as well as S Health.

[Q] Gear Fit / Note 3

I bought a Gear Fit from unlocked-mobiles.com
In general I like it. Is comfortable to wear, and more practical than my original Galaxy Gear.
On the Samsung website it says it is compatible with Note 3.
When I go to the website to download the manager software it says it is not compatible with my device and will not let me download anything.
I have downloaded the manager from the S5 threads, and S5 S-Health app.
The pedometer does not sync with the S-Health software. Any ideas?
I am sure when it is officially launched all will come available.

Release date is April 11. Software might be updated by then.
Here's a couple of fixes. The first one worked for me. Really love the screen on this thing

Samsung Press Release says: All 2nd generation Gear accessories must be used with the Galaxy S5 or later devices. Please upgrade your obsolete Note 3. And by the way, none of the data from the Note 3 with migrate either, usability doesn't help our bottom lines.
Don't worry, klau1 talking rubbish, compatible with at least 15 phones. Working on my Note 2 perfectly even with the old leaked version.

I was joking about this specifically based on what they did with S-Health and S-Note
People who upgraded either of those could not migrate their data across. There are threads littered on XDA here full of complaints about this.
I have one and am using with my Note 3. To get it to sync you need to uninstal S Health as that seems to be used with the S5. Then download and install Fitness with Gear from the Samsung Apps. Then it should sync for you.
I've installed the above Gear Manager, used that to install S Health, also installed Gear for Fit or whatever it is called.
I connect my Gear Fit with Gear Manager, open S Health and go to 'My accessories', it searches but can't find the Gear Fit... that Gear Manager is already connected to?
If in S Health I go to 'Compatible accessories' and select Gear Fit, it wants to disconnect my Gear Fit to open Gear Manager?
Where am I going wrong?
Thanks.

[Q] S Health

Does anyone know where I can get a S Health apk for my Galaxy Tab 4 8"?
I have a gear fit and want to monitor everything on my tablet but Samsung doesn't support the Tab 4 with this app for some stupid reason.
If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great.
I just made one that should install like a normal app try it and tell me if it works

Excellent man. Thanks so much. The app installs flawlessly.
Now I just have to figure out why S Health doesn't recognize the Gear Fit watch. They make a watch for fitness but don't make it compatible with their fitness software. I love Samsung hardware, but their software guys are absolute morons.

Have you had any luck getting the Gear Fit sync'ed with S Health on your Tab 4? I have a Tab 4.7.0 and a Gear Fit & I am desperately wanting to get the two working together. Does the Gear Fit Manager version matter at all?
I couldn't agree with you more about Samsung hardware and software. Sloppy software integration for their otherwise solid hardware.
I'll try the apk on my Tab 4.7.0 and reply with results later.
Thanks..

Following up on installing S Health on my Galaxy Tab 4..7.0
The apk installed without any issue, but could not detect the Gear Fit. This version of S Health was pre Gear Fit (2.5.4.046) so I'm not sure it would be compatible with the Gear Fit to begin with. I'll try others.
On a side note, I can verify that versions 1.70 and 1.98 of the Gear Fit Manager successfully worked with the Galaxy Tab 4.7.0
I also was able to successfully install the Fitness with Gear app, but the app would not sync with the Gear Fit.
I'll keep on this. If anyone has any updates, please post.
Thanks
Gear Fit Working with Galaxy Tab 4.7.0!
Wonderful News to report!
I have successfully installed S Health on my Galaxy Tab 4.7.0 (not rooted) and it has successfully sync'ed with my Gear Fit! I did encounter a couple of crashes with the app, but so far, all seems to be working.
I'm very excited to finally see the S Health app running on my Tab and working with the Gear Fit.
I have some notes on the process I followed and apk files I installed. I will share here after I get some sleep. I hope this gives some hope to others who are looking to connect their Gear Fit to a non smartphone device.
Cheers!

I can never get enough sleep!!!
I don't have my notes with me, but if my memory is correct, I believe I installed the Gear with Fitness app from Aptoide on my Galaxy Tab. The Gear with Fitness app will not sync with the Gear Fit. From within the Gear with Fitness app, I selected the 'Check for updates' option which then ran and updated Gear with Fitness to S Health (version 3.5.1.0696).
I restarted the tablet and the Gear Fit. The Gear Fit paired with the Tablet right away. I then opened the S Health app, and selected the Gear Fit from the Accessories list. It auto-sync'ed with no problem.
It's important to note that the S Health app crashed when I updated my personal profile with my height, weight and gender settings. But the changes did save when I re-opened the app. It continues to sync, automatically and manually with no crashes since.
Perhaps, if the update process does not work for you, can can run the S Health install directly instead of upgrade from Fitness with Gear:

Here's the Fitness with Gear download also:

Let me know if you have success with it.
Cheers,

Has find my mobile been removed from Galaxy S7?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and someone else I know has a Samsung Galaxy S7. Neither of us can find anything to do with the Samsung reactivation lock or find my mobile.
Has this been removed because of Google's own services?
I do NOT remember signing up for Google's system yet when I go to their website I can locate my phone and make it ring!
Can someone outline to me some of the advantages and if they exist some of the disadvantages to the Google system over the Samsung system.
Thanks

Fingerprint sensor for apps and passwords

Hello, I can't use the finger print sensor to sign in apps or remember passwords on the browser (I use chrome) ... I used to have a Galaxy S6 and it automaticaly asked me If I'd like to use the sensor for this even at the apps or the browser ... but G4 don't.. can anybody help me with that? thanks
Is it even the same kind of sensor? I have not heard of it before. Seems cool though. Maybe a samsung specific feature?
