xt1766 have new update - Moto E4 Questions & Answers

hello.. i have moto e4 it have ncq26.69-64 build number.... i want to downgrade it to ncq26.69-48 but i dont have ncq26.69-64 firmware to make firmware downgrade firmware.. plxx shere this firmware if anyone have..

https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=195327

There is no update ncq26.69-64... i need that file which build number is ncq26.69-64... for no apn and hotspot...

So flash it with rsdlite. That firmware isn't released yet.

I found this thread. The link has 2 files listed as SPERRY_SPRINT_NCQ26.69-48_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip. The two files has the same name but md5 checksum is different. And both description says it is for XT1768. Can it be used to downgrade Boost XT1766? If yes, which one is the right one?

No absolutely not the packages are not interchangeable for different devices. If it says it's for xt1768 it cannot be used on xt1766.

That's what I thought too. But XT1768 is for GSM carrier yet Sprint is a CDMA carrier. This is a case of filename does not match the description. Having 2 files of identical name and description also makes it more confusing.

Generic XT1768 is multi-carrier/multi-band supporting all mainstream CDMA and GSM bands.

In the flash batch script, the first line checks the variant. Considering the Priv only takes signed images, I wouldn't try bypassing that unless you want a brick.

Thanks to the obsession of US carriers to make sure they load your phones up with crap to trap you into paying more, no they aren't.

Just saw your message. Looked at the chart in the above link and see that oem name, svnumber are different for PRIVs. So if flash script checks the phone to see if it matches, then it won't allow flashing of the wrong image, unless user purposely modifies the file.

Unlocking More Bands?

Hey!
From what I've read online it looks like all S7 Edges are built identically which means that the bands must be controlled by software. Are there any firmwares, patches, or tricks that enable other bands? I have a Verizon S7 Edge on T-Mobile so I'm mainly looking to unlock band 12. I saw this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...e-flashing-sm-935u-firmware-verizon-t3415145/ but im not sure if that will unlock the bands or not. VoLTE and WiFi-Calling would be a plus.
Thanks.

I believe that is what this post describes: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...e-flashing-sm-935u-firmware-verizon-t3415145/ but I dont know if that will actually unlock the bands or not. Have you tried it? Will it actually unlock the bands?
Thanks.
I haven't tried this but my s6 edge works for my gf on metro and it's a Verizon phone with of1 firmware. I don't see why the u firmware wouldn't work for you.

Maybe now that you're on the U firmware you could flash the T-Mobile firmware? Not sure if it would work or not, maybe you'd be willing to try. Make a backup just in case...
I do belive the band's are controlled by the baseband/radio file in the updates, of course most of my experience is with the ENG bootloader on HTC devices so I think for Samsung it's either modem or pda....more experienced members can correct me if I'm wrong, so feel free to jump in

Do you think flashing the T-Mobile firmware would help? I posted in the other thread asking if it would work but if flashing firmeware replaces everything (bootloader, os, kernel, etc) then it should work right?

Here is about all I can find from someone reliable.

--To me this says - it should be fine to flash the full US Unlocked RUU/firmware, which is x.xx.617.x, I think the latest is 1.91.617.1
I personally have flashed the pmic-8996-1.img from multiple firmwares including, International, US Unlocked, and Tmobile testing out WiFi drain. So, some bits are ok, but the aboot.img (bootloader) contains the partition, so anything other than VZW or the US Unlocked could result in a brick.
Until someone takes the plunge and reports back, or unless their are people out there whom have done this but not seen the posts asking the question. So hopefully if they are out there they will see this thread and comment.

Reviving this to ask a related question:
Can I safely flash the latest U.S Unlocked radio to my VZW 10 which has the latest VZW firmware?
If you flash the unlocked radio you will most likely lose all your verizon features such as volte and so on I would not if you use verizon services. For what purpose would you want to may I ask ? If you want to run your Verizon version on At&t or Tmobile there are threads on both I believe, but you should have support for other carriers already I believe as I think you will just get a non Verizon sim message is all but AndyBones can direct you on how to remove that nag.

I'm not actually using the phone on Verizon network, I bought it second hand and using it on Rogers network in Canada. Everything runs fine including LTE, but reception is weaker than on my M7 (purchased from Rogers) hence my wanting to try the U.S Unlocked radios to see if things improve. Similarly voice call quality is not that great though it has improved with the 1.82 firmware upgrade.
I don't mind testing out the radio myself, just need some assurance about being able to without bricking the device due to firmware mismatch or other incompatibilities. As pointed out in this thread very little information exists out there from people who have unbranded their VZW 10s or flashed non-VZW radios.
Have you tried running the latest RUU for the Verizon HTC 10 ? This may fix your issue if you have not already. Also I think on another thread Dottat posted a method to reset your bands of some some if you look on his thread for being able to use the unlocked 10 on Verizon he has it posted on there I believe. Resetting the bands or modem has worked for some people with issues with signal.

I'm not having an "issue" per se, I just want to see if I can get improved reception with a new radio, so I don't think an RUU flash would change much (I have already reset my modem for a separate issue).
Thanks for your help, I'm hoping that andybones or another dev can answer my question about being able to flash a non-vzw radio safely.

Is Rogers a CDMA based carrier (I legit don't know). You may need to do an entire us unlocked swap, not sure if anybody has tried that yet with a vzw phone.
No Rogers is a GSM network but my VZW 10 works fine on it.
If by debranding you mean to convert it to US Unlocked version, then Straightforward answer: Yes. You don't need to read further if all you needed was a yes or no, but I felt I should post what I did to convert it to US unlocked from Verizon for others who might need help.
Verizon 4G LTE devices are already unlocked. So, just to be sure, I S-OFFed my device first via sunshine. While S-OFFing, I chose the option of S-OFF with locked bootloader. Then I changed the CID to BS_US001. Didn't have to change the MID as it was the same as US unlocked version, i.e. 2PS650000. Flashed latest TWRP (for nand backup just in case). Flashed US unlocked RUU 1.8X.617.X. Successfully updated to 1.96.617.2 via OTA.
One thing that I immediately noted after converting to US Unlocked version was that the option of OEM Unlocking which was previously not present in the Verizon version became available in the Developer Options. Hope it helped.

Hi GrimJoke,
Thanks your post! Since I last posted here I've managed to do exactly as you described and ran the Unlocked RUU, updated to 1.96. Now running stock ROM and everything works great, and in fact the phone runs better than it did on vzw software.
I've noticed the same regarding OEM Unlocking. I read from Captain Throwback here that we should now be able to unlock the bootloader with htcdev and with superCID 22222222. I won't try since it's pointless for me.

I think it might be a mix + carrier needs to support and device needs to be whitelisted in their system. Which model do you have or planning to buy?
XAA will contain most US carrier's CSC codes, so this what US unlocked model comes with.
TMB is for T-Mobile, which is the same as sold by T-Mobile.

If you put T-Mobile sim card, then go to phone app and access the settings and then check if you see WiFi Calling there. To find out what you CSC is, just download Phone INFO app(Samsung) from play store. The launch the app and swipe to the left to go to CSC section.

Right, I had that question myself before, but you have to make sure which model you have and what is the CSC of your phone. Carrier versions should be: G950U, but US unlocked is: G950U1. There is a little difference in XAA and others, but if you really want unlocked that would have CSC codes of most US carriers, then use XAA image. It will allow you to put any US sim card in the phone and it should work.
I would suggest checking out the carrier switching threads here. There are several... One here and at least one other I think in the T-Mobile S8 guides forums section, that walk you through changing the firmware to the US unlocked while keeping carrier features.

You will need to download the USA(XAA) firmware. That will give you the unbloated version and you will have WiFi calling and volte with T-Mobile. Just type in sm-g930u1 and select the XAA firmware. I have full T-Mobile capabilities with that firmware which is the US Unlocked model.
Make sure to use the regular csc file and NOT the home csc file.

S10 5G G977U and G977T Combination (Factory Binary) Files Here

Early access for those of you who know what this is, and want to see what you can find inside. I compress extra small for storage and bandwidth savings, so you'll need 7zip or WinRAR etc to extract - the default Windows unzipper can't handle it.
Retail firmware should be coming soon, and I'll put up another thread similar to my existing ones, once I have access to it.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=292080
Hmmm.... A G977T Combination file has now been released. This is very interesting, because Samsung stopped using specific carrier designation letters in their model numbers after the Note 7, for all flagship devices. Not sure what the differences may be between U and T, but that's exactly why I'm providing the links

after set up I switched Sims, it recognised the new sim but then said this phone cannot be used with this sim!

That doesn't necessarily mean that it's SIM locked. Pretty much all Verizon phones show a notification that says "This is not a Verizon SIM" - even if they're unlocked - if you insert a different carrier's SIM. If you can post a picture or screenshot of what you're seeing, that might help us clarify things
this is the pop up that occurs

Posting a picture or screenshot would be a lot more helpful.
Is there a place to type in a code, or does it say "tap here to learn how you can use your device on another carrier's network" or anything else?
anyone know where I can get the firmware for the sm-977n ?
Will these work with the SM-977N ?

Buy the $30 prepaid plan and leave the Verizon sim in for 24 hours after its activated and then pop in another sim. Should work.
The Verizon G977U comes unlocked. I am currently using T-Mobile. I don't mind bc I upgraded from note 8. but I just don't like the Verizon boot and all apps ect.., also the "non Verizon Simcard "message.
in my note 8 I put any simcard and it will reset to that simcard carrier with original carrier boot and apps. . I will like to have the same effects in this device.
if anyone is interested in testing with this device it is available.
I've seen G977N in YouTube and it doesn't have any carrier (maybe that's the unlocked version)
Will this support S10 5G firmware?

Hmmm.... A G977T Combination file has now been released. This is very interesting, because Samsung stopped using specific carrier designation letters in their model numbers after the Note 7, for all flagship devices. Not sure what the differences may be between U and T, but that's exactly why I'm providing the links

The SM-G977T model will be for T-Mobile. Saw the phone being tested myself. Here's a link showing the test firmware on the TMB csc: http://fota-cloud-dn.ospserver.net/firmware/TMB/SM-G977T/version.test.xml

You have to wait for 24 hours now with Verizon, then the phone will unlock automatically.
