Finally, Oreo in Czech Republic - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Guides, News, & Discussion

Just checked and there finaly is Oreon in Czech Republic (O2). And.... it is G955FXXU1CRB7/G955FO2C1CRC1/G955FXXU1CRAP
size 1021.48 Mb
CRAP?
I thought they cancelled update in order to fix bugs in CRAP, and now I get CRAP? Or is it CRB7? I don't understand the naming, why is there 3 names?

Now... damn. Seems to be working ok, but with 1 huge bug... everytime I ENTER or EXIT Knox, the phone freezes for like 10 -15 seconds. Inside Know all OK, outside Knox all OK, but switching to and from Knox freezes the damn phone!!

[Q] Please help :( i9505 Constant random reboot issues..

Hey guys..
I've owned all the Samsung Galaxy phones from the S+ right up to the S4 and I've flashed firmwares over all of them with generally no problems at all.
But lately I have a constant issue that has been plaguing my Galaxy S 4 (i9505) phone since I flashed the 4.3 i9505G (GE Edition) ROM over my phone.. (have since moved to OMEGA v12)
The phone just randomly reboots whenever it seems to feel like it.
It could be whilst taking a picture, it could be whilst using google maps, it could be whilst installing an app from the app store or just scrolling across the screen. It's basically rebooted through anything and everything and I've tried pinning it down to something but every time I think that I've got it sorted out. It crashes again whilst doing something else.
1 thing however has got me stumped. The phone has NEVER crashed whilst plugged in. If I keep the phone plugged in, it's never ever just rebooted on its own for me. Which got me thinking that it could be a faulty battery or some sort of voltage issue.
Coming from the 4.3 GE Edition ROM there are other people experiencing random reboots. But now I've just flashed over OMEGA v12 and right after flashing (I did a full wipe of course first) the phone rebooted whilst typing in my Wifi access key. After the reboot I was able to set my phone up and I did a reboot myself, then I went to the app store to add an account and the phone crashed AGAIN.
I'm totally over this issue with my phone. I paid a small fortune for it and I cannot rely on it at all. So I absolutely need it to work. I've had issues on 4.3 GE getting Mobile Data to work. I've had issues with it crashing and I'm just done with all of this.
Do you think that my phone is already broken? (It's barely 3 months old) Do I need to get it replaced under warranty? Can I even get it replaced under warranty, is there a way to even get my warranty back or reset the flash counter etc?
I'm just so confused guys I thought maybe it was my battery, and that my battery was faulty because I had battery percentages dropping and jumping around like mad. For example 15% battery left would actually have the phone turn off... and reboot at 0%. Then the light wouldn't go green for 'Fully charged' and the phone would sit on 99% or 100% but still not say 'charged'. In addition I could swear I had lost more than 10% of my charge in the blink of an eye etc.
I just bought 2 new batteries but they will take a week to get here.. and if the phone is still rebooting (and it isn't a voltage/cut out issue with the battery) then should I assume it's a hardware issue and that the phone needs replacing? Or could it just be a bad flash or something? The phone has at least a 2 year warranty. I don't want to replace it after just 3 months when I haven't even so much as dropped it once.
My recovery is PhilZ 5 Touch 6.0.4.0
I always check MD5 sums before flashing and do a full wipe:
- Wipe Data/Factory Reset
- Clean to Install a New ROM
- Yes
- Then Flash the new .zip file etc.
What on earth could be wrong with my phone?
I'll happily provide any more information, as I honestly cannot handle this happening and I have no idea what my problem is...
Thanks incredibly much for any help at all, what-so-ever.

I can only give you advice on some of the smaller issues that you mentioned. I haven't had a problem with reboots at all (i've flashed all manners of ROMs too, including the GE), so I'm guessing it is hardware related. You should get it replaced (if it still is messing up with the new batteries).
As for warranty, yes you can claim it back on warranty. To be doubly safe, restore it to stock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477
Use Triangle Away: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494114
Also FYI, rooting does not void warranty: http://matija.suklje.name/rooting-and-flashing-your-device-does-not-void-the-warranty-in-eu (assuming you are in the EU, not sure about other countries) (gosh i've posted this a lot today).
Thanks a lot buddy I am in the EU definitely and the phone is purchased from the EU. I am actually about to flash it right back to stock now to see if it stops the rebooting issue. I will just have to live without custom roms for awhile and such. If it still keeps crashing I will wait for the new batteries. If it still keeps crashing again after I get those. I guess all that is left to do is render myself without a phone for a week or two and have it repaired...
I wouldn't worry mate it sounds to me like a definite battery issue

Hi leijonasisu,
I've stumbled across your post after having experienced more or less the same issues as you. After trying many custom ROMs in the last few weeks, the phone has barely been useable for more than a few minutes until it randomly reboots. At which time, I must start over with the whole flashing process. My question is, did getting a new battery resolve your issue? Or did you just trade the device back in?
many thanks

Looks like it's better to restore to Samsung stock firmware first then start again from there,
But this will upgrade the the Knox bootloader also.
Stock firmware can be downloaded here, www.sammobile.com/firmwares
I fixed this ages ago. It was a battery issue, I'd bit my bottom dollar that it would be a battery issue for anyone else too, I've read a lot of stuff online about people who have gotten bad batteries with theirs. Swapped to 2 third-party and apparently larger batteries and never had an issue and never looked back.
Sorry for not replying back much sooner but I forgot about the thread.
Try another battery and if within a day or two you get no reboots then toss the bad battery and enjoy your phone! The thing is the battery (due to voltage issues) can make it look like it's the OSes fault when in actual fact it's just a faulty battery and voltage issues.
same problem here.. s4 randomly reboot..
I got the same problem.
The phone reboots every few minutes on me when i want to take it out of standby.
Sometimes it works for a few hours and sometimes it just reboots itself every few minutes or it reboots when i want to do something.
So ur all saying that a new battery could solve my problems ??

Hi, the OLD problem WAS caused by the faulty batteries batch (easy to recognize - the battery serial no was beginning with BD code).
Now, more frequently it is resulting from KNOX related issues.

hi thx for the answer.
Could infact be knox issue as i am now back on stock rom without root or anything and im not having any issues now.
But i would like to have a custom rom and root again .
So how would i go from here to there without having random crashes / reboots on custom rom ?

Only one option then: read the ROM-specific threads, loo for feedback posts. If ROM would cause random reboots, you can be certain that it will be written there.
Same issue with gt i9505, random reboot, earlier i had gt i9500 that was flawless with all rom n root n with everything, but i bought gt i9505 and its random reboot like in every 30 to 20 mints, im totally pissed n disappointed ? plzz help....

For me kitkat UGNG8 with random soft rebooting, tried everything with that firmware I could, reset to default and it was still randomly rebooting when ever it liked. Usually after swiping the screen out of wake lock most of the time. I even re-odin GNG8 3 times.
Cured by Odin with this one, below, which I thought I couldn't, because of the backward compatibility of the dates, but it went in ok. No reboots for weeks. Cured my i9505 S4

Interesting will have to give this a go, also the battery option.
For months I was running on Lollipop custom ROM, the developer did an upgrade and then the SIM card removed error started. I went back to the old version was keep getting the SIM Card removed error. A few days ago went back to Original ROM for NZ 4.4.2 and I still get the SIM Card error and now the phone just reboots randomly.

[Q][HELP] NO root & device status went to custom over night

I've been checking for updates on my GT-I9505 and so far I've gotten that everything is up to date already and now all of a sudden I got the following message: Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available.
The most weird and infuriating is that I have purposely kept my S4 completely stock, no root, no nothing. All I've done is that I've installed a few alternative launchers.
As far as I've understood - I can use triangleaway to get back to official (I'm on baseband I9505XXUDMH6). But seriously, what's the point of that status anyway, if I don't root or flash and it still gets effed up???
Anyone seen or heard of something like this before??
What should I do, any suggestions?
At the moment I'm planning to go to the local (tech) store, where I bought this in August (or maybe end of July) and going to have a little chat, if they tell me, that it's my fault and that I must have done something, then Samsung Estonia, here I come....and if things go really south then I'm going to the Consumer Protection Agency (hope it has an understandable meaning....don't know the international equivalent), so far in Estonia they've managed to do something if things are really wrong and hurt the consumer.
I also realize that I'm furious at the moment, but I'm also really serious....worked my butt off to buy this phone and shown great restraint not to flash or root and something like this happens....
Let this be (warning sounds too harsh) note to all not rooted and trying to keep their warranty and if anyone can share some insight, suggestions, sympathy or whatever - thank you!
It's been over two weeks now.
I've been in contact with my retailer, they only recommended a factory reset and the clerk admitted that he's not too familiar with the subject.
Samsung Estonia takes a bit too long with each of their replies (as they're probably too busy with marketing all the time), but they have more helpful replies than the retailer - told me to go to a service center in Tallinn. They were able to be more helpful with other issues that I had raised.
I also read from their site, that the 4.3 update is live in Estonia since October 31st, so I wanted to try if Kies would update my device although the device status isn't official - it only showed that my device is up to date. I was just bored and decided to try OTA as well - surprisingly it didn't say that it wasn't able to update, because the device isn't official, but it said that my device is already up to date.
I rushed through the settings to check it out and now, totally out of the blue, my device is once again official.
Whoever might wonder upon this story in the future with a similar problem, I'm sorry that I couldn't help you and can only wish you patience, good luck and hope that things will turn out better in the end as they did for me (for the moment at least)
A new development:
After the device status turned official again, I found out that the 4.3 update should be live in the Baltic region since October 31. But my phone still didn't find it. Samsung Estonia finally said that it's probably the fault of a wrong region setting, but it has to be checked and can be changed for a fee, as warranty doesn't cover it. I've been checking for an update for the past couple of days and this morning the device status had changed to custom once again. Wrote to Samsung Estonia, that I'm fine with waiting for the update or paying for the region change, but a device status switching back and forth between official and custom is Samsung's fault and it should be dealt with by them.
Hopefully they'll get the message and will clear this mess with their own resources.
Hey there.
I had a similar 'issue' not long ago. I randomly browsed through the settings and the 'about' section to find that the device status was unofficial. I haven't rooted or flashed anything at all, however it didn't really create a problem. I then restarted my phone, then it said 'official' again only to change back to 'unofficial' again in about 10 minutes.
If i restarted and tried to update quick enough it would work, if the phone ran for a while I got the same message as you 'your device has been modified' or something.
I got the 4.3 update and the problem has since disappeared...
I started a thread too out of curiosity but no one seemed to know the answer. It might just be a little software bug

[Q] Samsung Tech got my phone worse

I think they got my phone worse, I'm planning on take it back to Samsung but first I want the opinion of you guys since I've learned so much in XDA and they are so much "pros" in here.
I would like to know if there is something I can do? Is there something I should say to them? and mostly ... Should I ask for a full refund for the new $330 main board that DID NOT fixed the problem or they did well?
The beginning :
- I bought a N900W8 in september 2013, since the very beginning it had a multitouch problem, when XY from a finger aligned with the XY from another finger, one of them would disappear, it wasn't such a problem for me since the odds to trigger the bug wasn't that much and I had warranty.
- Kitkat was out and I couldn't help myself and updated it to the mexican leak, since it was "Knox-trigger free" and "downgreadable" I was still planning to take it to warranty if the problem with the touchscreen persists.
- Everything was fine and it didn't had the problem anymore, kitkat was amazing, rooted it, installed X-Note, my phone was great. Months passed, I updated it with the canadian Kitkat NB7 and more months passed.
- So, it's september 2014, I was reading reddit on my phone and it started to lag bad, like unusable bad.
Diagnostic :
- Later I notice it's not lag, it's a delay with the touchscreen. If I used any voice assistant app It would work perfectly but if I touched anything on any spot, it would take like 30 sec to recognize or it would act like I was long pressing it or double tapping, same thing with the pen and the physical buttons (volume, home, power). I spend nearly 20min tapping everywhere on TWRP recovery mode and there was no delay, the physical buttons worked perfectly too. EDIT: every time I installed or re-installed a ROM every tap/physical worked perfectly when selecting (next, next, choose apps, etc). the delays started after booting the OS.
What I did :
- Clean up the phone, check RAM (max was 10% still had 15~45sec delay), Format, Hard Reset, Reinstalled Kernel, Reinstalled ROM, Downgrade ROM, tried another Kernel, another ROM, 3 more ROMs, 2 more Kernels, flashed everything stock, tried stock with custom kernel.. NOTHING. The only thing I couldn't do was to flash Jellybean back because I updated to NB7.
- Took it directly to Samsung (Knox was still 0x0 but there is NO 4.4 update in my country yet so warranty wouldn't cover it) the guy said it was too weird, I took care of my phone so much, he though I bought it 1 week ago not 1 year lol.
What SAMSUNG did :
- After a week they told me it was the main board / motherboard, charged almost $330 for a new one.
- Went to pick it up, the guy turn it on and handle it to me, I even couldn't choose the language because the delay was there. He immediately called someone on the phone, and told me he has to take a video when the problem occurs, but when he inserted the battery back my phone started to work perfectly, almost 45min later was still good so he told me to go back if something happens again. My Scover didn't work, they told me it's "normal" for the Scovers to broke (it did worked before taking it to repair).
- 3 days later I decided to install 4.4 again, but this time I was not going to update it so I could downgrade to 4.3, long story short, I flashed 15 times and downgrade it 16 times because everytime I was on Kitkat the incredibly annoying delay cames back and it fixes when I flash JB back.
New problems :
- The problem persists on kitkat dissapears on jellybean, I haven't tried the updated firmwares, just the leaked mexican one since I needed to downgrade android.
- Scover makes my phone flashes like I'm open it and closing it.
- Every re-boot the half botton of the screen and the volume/home buttons, back and menu, won't work, the power button shows a black screen with the options on the top. I have to pull the battery or shutdown- turn it on in order to solve the problem.

True. Its fast. And snappier. Battery seems to be doing better.
How about the touch sensitivity issue? Is it still there?

So far so good. def alot faster now.. even my connection went up..
Tablet bought in Germany but not used there, just got the 1.4 Gb MM update. (see you free space on internal memory before upgrading).
I have notice incredible speed after update but to be fair already there were alot of lag with the tablet (probably something I had installed ...). Apps now, start almost instant like it should on such specifications.
Can't say about battery yet but it seems the settings for saving went away and you could not activate saving other than at 5, 10 or 15 % battery.
A new setting on audio has appear DSEE HX, something that try to upgrade normal mp3 to HD sound quality. Activating this will deactivate ClearAudio+, dynamic normaliser ...) I didnt test it because I use flac uncompressed
Phone has change layout (subject to each person taste) and if you recorded an answer response on your answering machine you will lose it after upgrade (but you don't lose previous recorded messages)
I can confirm that wake up from power but mostly from keyboard (any key) is instant. After some time of inactivity it wakes slower but at practical interval to use (compared with before).
I love to set individual permissions since I have uninstall some apps because of "too generous" permission list.
Camera app: amazing UI upgrade. Where it was so cumbersome to use now is amazing easy to switch. Swipe up anywhere on the screen, can't comment on picture quality as I did;t test it.
I have also noticed less finger prints on the screen and less glare since the update! Amazing job SONY!
... just joking
Hi all,
Just updated my Z4 tablet (Generic Central Europe CE1) and as soon as I launched it for the first time, I encountered few issues. First of all, my SanDisk 128GB card initialized as corrupted. Gave it a try dismounting and mounting again a couple of times no luck and eventually ended up backing up the data on my netbook and reformatting it using the tablet running the Marshmallow. So far so good. Second and the most important of all, I experienced Google Play Store FCs and it still persists. Have been playing with it all day long trying almost everything: clearing both Google Play Services and Google Play Store as well as Google Framework cache, data and uninstalling all their updates rebooting the machine after each step still no luck. Removed my Google account and relogged again, didn't work. Also tried installing the latest version for both the Store and the Services still nothing. I literally have no clue now and am left with no idea at all what is going on?! I recall similar issue with my Z1 the other day but simply updating the Google Services solved the whole drama in an instant. I would be grateful if anyone could help me out with this neverending story.
Thanks in advance,
Jack

Thanks in advance,
Jack

I'm on Customized SG R5C and it's running great. It has the usual bloatware but I've uninstalled it.
I got my tablet off Amazon UK and i'm still waiting for the update, same goes for my Z5. SI is 1294-9064 for Z4 tablet and 1298-2610 for Z5 phone.

I have SG. looking for EU in case if better as I moved in here and assuming there would be some smart apps specific to EU - unless ALL builds are same!
Anyone facing bugs in 6.0 on the tablet? My exchange pushmail was working in 5.0.2 but after 6.0, it doesn't connect to the server anymore. deleting and recreating and even nine mail or mailwise couldn't connect to the server. I initially thought it was the server that didn't support 6.0 so i borrowed another brand phone with 6.0 to test and it worked so it's due to Sony's version of the 6.0..

Yes, I faced a bug with my L2TP/PSK VPN-connection. This wouldn't work on 5.0.2 and it didn't work on 6.0 either. It's apparently a known issue on Xperia's, even the Z5 has it on MM.
Luckily, I was able to fix it by selecting Advanced Settings > Backward compatible mode: Enabled.

WiFi woes on 4.4.2 on SM N9005

A little help please from a rom specialist!
Using a cfautorooted note 3 for a couple of years with no problem. Suddenly the wi-fi will not switch on, the icon showing light green for 1/2 second then grey - using the slider if it is held to the right, there is a light green light, but releasing the slider it returns to off. Nothing was updated/changed. The bluetooth works fine so do not suspect chip yet. Booted to safe mode - no different. Investigated files etc. and noticed that wma_supplicant.conf had been reset to zero bytes at the time this happened, so restored from a back up (Keep copies as has "lost" all wifi passwords in the past" - powered up again and worked!
Today it has returned to this fault.......but the wma_supplicant.conf is the same.....but noticed this time that pgp_supplicant.conf had be modified at around the time of the fault, but I do not have a backup.
Can anyone explain/help with exactly what these files do and which files are essential to connecting android to the hardware.
I have spent a lot of time looking into this, but do not want to factory reset just yet - will take days to re set up as I wish - and only guess it will resolve problems. Also as engineer I prefer to "find the fault and repair" rather than just "fix" without knowing how!
ANY clues would be gratefully accepted.
I also have a note 3 (same model) on android 5 but not sure if the /system/etc/wifi files should be the same. Otherwise any clues where I can get the original UK 4.4.2 rom?
Many thanks
John

ps
I realise that wpa_supplicant.conf is technically just the passwords, so why this worked 1st time I do not know - maybe a coincidence.
an entry says ctrl_interface=/data/misc/wifi/sockets
but that directory is empty in case that helps!
where I can get the original UK 4.4.2 rom?
Firmwares sammobile or samsung-updates and other sources including this forum .
Thansk, but tried Sams and uk version not there. Couldn't find anywhere else so would be nice to extract from existing 'phones rom as correct version. Still looking for how to!
Also would like to understand the wifi set up and repair this issue, rather than use blunt force and just do a factory reset (plus will take a day to rebuild as I want!)
John, UK
Does it have to be "UK version"? It is necessary?
I am from the Czech Republic. (Central Europe ) I have "N9005XXUGNG1_N9005ETLGNG1_N9005XXUGNG1_HOME.tar.md5". It's Android 4.4.2. I can upload to any repository. You want? Not a problem...

Hi
What a coincidence - I returned from Czech Republic last night at 23:00 !!!!
I live half the year in Velehrad, Okres Zlin!
I will get back to you tomorrow.....I am trying to locate another master circuit board for this device, but first I must try a factory reset and cache clear - been putting it off as will take 7-8 hours to set up again and remove all the rubbish apps!
John
Nice.
You can try my link. (Rom 4.4.2)
