Funny but you know what I asked.

I feel u.
Just be sure that the processor is not running constantly on ~45+ C°
About Helix engine, i think the dev would say something if it could harm your phone.
TL;DR No problem, flash whatever u want but be careful. :good:

Don't know what the max w/e cycles for the flash is but it's more then you can flash imo. Even for cheap microcontrollers the Write/Erase cyles are 10,000 or more
As long as you won't damage the phone with static discharges or overclock it too high you won't run into problems.

1. The SD 835 was at his time the best. Still is a Strong procesor.
2. If you don't like Helix, try AKT kernel tweaks. But the baterry consumption is up to every user.

What's your preference? Is rooting and flashing stuffs good or letting everything to be stock .

I don't like the phone without root. But i flash anything i want. If i don't like it, uninstall. My favorite rom is Oxygen open beta. I play with other rom's then i come back.

[Q] Wich NAND Android has a better battery?

I know, i know.
Its a recurrent question but i want to know what is your opnion about that.
What Android NAND Rom had a better battery life for daily use?
I will NEVER, NEVER go back to Windows Mobile

+1st bates, well put.
I can't really comprehend the importance of the question about battery life, as it is on ALL builds ok-ish... depending on the different usage habits.
Just to enlightened the OP... my Tytung 2.1 Gingerbread Nand can go for two days or even more... if I leave it untouched
But it is probably flat in like 4 or 5 hours playing nonstop Angry Birds... never tried either option... but you get the gist!

I'm not being meant, but your language really lets people down! I believe your question wont ever gets any answer!
I would like to know answer to the same question. And I know there are MANY people who tried MANY ROMS. Each person's usage pattern may be different. But same person IMHO uses HD2 same way with different ROMs. Which means if you ALREADY tried 10 ROMS and found out that ROM "XYZ" is best for battery.

Cmon man, i made a question about the people opinion and my first aswer is someone talking things like "dont be dumm and try".
Im already trying every build, im givving donates for the cookers and my intention with this topic is just to know the people opinion.
If you dont want to opinate, is simples, ignore this topic.
I do not want to offend anyone, I admire everyone here and help whenever possible.
Sorry if I misunderstood.
Cyanogen Roms have the worst battery life, everything else is equal.
That's about as much as I can sum it up. Every Desire/Sense rom is going to have the same, every Cyanogen is going to have the same.
You choose whether you want CM or Sense, then you choose which one looks the nicest to you and has the features you want.
Edit: My favorite build so far (battery life is fine also) is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915159 CMYLXGO's Stock Desire HD/Z Hybrid v2.0.4

I agree, also the Radio is a variable.
For me the best NAND build is MDJ Cyanogenmod with 2.12.50 radio, but now im testing with 2.15.50, and it seems that 2.12.50 is better.
I just flashed my first android nand last night. newest CM7 with 2.15 radio. 12 hours off charger and at 58%. had this been yesterday with android on sd, my phone would have died already.

It's not a drastic difference (unless you use Bluetooth) but CMs (Cyanogen Mods) do use more battery IMO, they seem to burst more in Standby, Wifi seems to be less battery-friendly and Bluetooth is a joke on most.
Sense IMO is the way to go, I love the look/feel and it seems pretty well ironed out.
Also, if you use LED Me Know, uninstall it or turn off Compatibility Mode (HD2 can only use Green and Amber (Orange) so make sure you use those two colors if you do keep it; just keep in mind your LED won't pulse any more.
The pulsing LED gives me a 60mA drain constantly if I have an Unread notification and my LED is going, it wasn't like this on SD from what I remember, must be a NAND issue.
Solid LED > No LED though.

Aren't you getting tired of the "This rom update is great, it's even faster!"

Aren't you getting tired of the "This rom update is great, it's even faster!"
Haven't been around and flashing for too long, started with the sgs1 and got the sgs2 now.
With every rom update there are always a bunch/lot of dudes who say "Wow thanks! My [insert device] is even faster now!"
If you would read for example the whole Darky rom thread for the sgs1, you would think the latest version of the Darky ROM (after about a hundred updates) the phone should be as fast as the latest supercomputer.
Just a thought I wanted to share with you guys.
i agree.. infact the KF1 seems to be sluggish then KE7.. i have noticed that in KF1 the android system uses less battery.. duuh .. no wonder its sluggish.. they tried to minimise power consumpption and in doing so have made it sluggish

that is the thing with flashing methods that do (or require) a reset.
of course it is faster than before, because you just set up your phone from start and dont have the crap on it like before. it's like saying "hey, windows 7 is so much faster, because after i installed it it was faster than my 3 year running windows xp installation".
it is really difficult to judge speed if flashing incorporates a reset.
tbf im still on the stock rom, im waiting for people to say, hey this rom is super fast+has a good battery etc. I dont think that magic firmware has come yet.
dont forget the placebo effect.
people flash new roms, where literally nothing is different to stock apart from root.
so why are we doing it?
because we are leet people far away from being normals. so we need cutomized stuff. even when the stock rom is working well.

The sgs2 is already fast out of the box, I don't think we will encounter any rom at all wich will give you a noticable speed difference. It's more about the features this time around, and the current roms don't really provide much features. Some nice cosmetic stuff tho.
The other thing is how many people with minor problems are those that have rooted and flashed various roms? My phone is stock and has none of the niggly problems that appear on the forums

Is your phone slow?

Lately i've noticed my phone becoming infuriatingly slow. I'm not sure what it is exactly, but I don't remember it ever being this slow. Overclocking it gives the tiniest speed boost, but later on the phone becomes unusable and I have to reboot.
Are there any ROM's I could use to get it to run better? Besides stock.
Have you tried to uninstall some apps? Maybe there are some apps which don't work correct.
I recommend you to use a custom rom anyway.

I used GingerDX v006 freshly it was smooth and fast but when i installed some applications it slowed down my phone i uninstalled those application but not worked
then i installed GDX v007 i found a bunch of bugs in it and performance same as v006
now i m using v006 with a low performance.
Use GingerDX 008.
Uninstall all system apps that you don´t need.
Use a task killer.
If you do this, it should be smooth.
I think you have to use Advance Task Killer, it helped me a lot. There are some apps that are runnning back and you dont ever notice. This may be the cause of your phone's poor speed.
I'm using GingerDX and I'm really satisfied. My phone is hell fast and I don't use any task killers.

I would use GingerDX but I do not like the developers attitude towards the whole thing. If there is something you do not like, his response is practically "TOO BAD, its MY rom, I do what I like."
For instance, he blatantly refuses to remove the credits from the lockscreen. That is just a god awful place to put it and that bothers me to no end.

I think he's perfectly within his rights. He's not coding the rom for YOU. It's his rom for his personal phone that he is willing to share with us for FREE..
Okay. That wasn't what I said at all. My point was is that it bothers me and so I don't use it. End of story.
I still respect the developer and appreciate his work. As I understand quite a bit of his modules are in the ROM I am currently using.

performance v50018 vs 20a

I installed the new official rom v50020a and are disappointed with performance especially in games. That performance was superior v18a. This rom seemed to me the most powerful than all roms, since the battery is emptied very quickly, especially in stand by. In AnTuTu benchmark 18a give almost 27,000 and v20a less than 24,000. In Real Racing 3 feel the difference. V50020a is final rom for OTA? Performance and battery worse than the first official rom. I think I'll go back to 4.2.2.

The problem is that the rom v18 of battery empties very quickly in standby. I have to install a custom rom based on v18 with another kernel.

What do you call 'very quickly'? I found it emptied slower than with 4.2.2 in standby with WiFi on.
I set the wi-fi to be turned off when the tablet is in stand by. It is among the settings after installing a new rom.

I don't, but that is not my point. What do you call losing charge very quickly?
I overdid it a little with unloading the battery. Battery runs exactly I was wi-fi settings on standby.

Did you notice any difference on the screen brightness, gamma values and 7 spots on the bottom?
Jessooca said:
The battery life is actually better,by nearly 2 hours. I have tested and ran it for 5 days, it's all about your settings. If you have the screen on 50% one day or 65% another day it's always going to fluctuate.
Theres no complaints about the battery life with 18 here, easily I get 2 hours more. Some days 4.

The fix for Watching Amazon Prime is in a thread by, i believe it was Surviveland....
Make sure that you have UNinstalled the flash player installed in your device if you have one installed first and then install the hacked one for compatibility reason.
1) Download Dolphin Browser from the Play Store
[/B]You MUST have Dolphin Jetpack on in the settings to enjoy it.
As far as I have noticed, Dolphin Jetpack better solves the compatibility with flash player, such as crash issue & freeze issue in full screen.
2) Download the hacked flash player HERE: http://goo.gl/MuU9SU
If your device refused to install apk outside Google Play, you need to change your settings in your device (Settings> Securities> Unknown resources) to allow installation of apps from unknown sources.
3) Make sure that the flash setting in Dolphin Browser (Click Menu>Settings>Web Content>Flash Player) is on.

another weird comment.
I used CM since 2010 and I dont want to ever touch a their ROM again. It was a complete disaster on the OPO. I cant even remember using a stable CM build, EVER. Give me any CM ROM on any phone and I can make it crash (in 5 minutes) or random reboot in less than an hour.
Overrated ROM from IMO. Didnt they just signed a major deal with Microsoft ? hahahaha, what a pathetic team.

I haven't had a single crash or random reboot using CM on this phone. Mate, you are coming across as really negative on quite a few threads on this forum. So you bought a zenfone but it isn't up to your expectations? It happens, get over it. Sell it and buy something else if it is bugging you so badly.

I went through all your comments on this thread. I can't help but notice how much of a pessimist you are. You are shooting down this man's post just because you have some personal issues.
Firstly, voiding warranty and flashing a ROM doesn't magically turn your device into something else. If that was the case, more than 70% of the people on xda must be having "different phones" by now. XDA is about "hacking" your phone to get more out of it or to suit your lifestyle. We don't care about "warranty" or "zenui" and its software gimmicks. It seems like you have come to the wrong neighborhood. Go watch some youtube reviews and surf around Google play store to make yourself happy.
Secondly, it seems like you have a personal vendetta against CM. You are basing your opinion on one experience one device? That's a joke. And they signed a contract with MS? With Micromax? So what? Does it affect the usage of your mobile phone in any way?
Thirdly, if you don't like it, stay the **** away from it.
It's been a while since I've been this rude on a post. But with all due respect, please take your nonsense elsewhere.

i can crash my phone (of course with stock rom, i meant by any stock rom, any phone, touchwiz zenui emui miui just name it) in 2 seconds.
just by slamming it the to the wall or floor..
anyway, i just cant stand on rom racism on xda.. if you dont like the rom, just shut up and dont hurt other developer's feeling or their hardwork.. if you can cook a rom, i bet that no one will ever download your rom if you are behaving like this..
Relayers making drama on this forum, thats good.
Btw. I am typing this using cm rom
