Hello I have a G6 H871 ATT. I have it on MetroPCS and I am having issues with Mobile Connection. At random times during the day (no real cause, or anything to trigger it) I will lose the "MetroPCS" logo on the top left, AND the 4G LTE symbol. No calls can be made in or out, or texts. And obviously no data.
If anyone calls me, it rings, and goes to VM but it doesnt pop up on my phone. Not sure what could trigger this at all. It seems random? I can go hours without it happening, and then another day it will be every 30 min.
I got a new sim card from Metro, double triple checked APN settings. Has anyone else had this issue, either with a G6 or other phone? Thanks

Another thing I may add is that when I do have LTE and the Metro Symbol, at times when I try to place a call, it will just do nothing. No dialing, just looks like its TRYING to call, but wont go through. The 4G LTE Symbol wont change to the fat "4G" only symbol. When calls do work, that is what happens. LTE goes away and its just 4G.
No one has any ideas?

Its an ATT phone.
I cant find any KDZ for the H871 ATT? I found the system dump file, but not sure if thats the same as a KDZ?
When I try to make a call, and it happens, I get "Mobile Network Not Available" message, and right after, I get LTE back.

That works I wonder if its an issue, if anyone else has the prob let me know

I have that issue as well, idk why it happens but I'll add it to the list of problems for when I call to get a replacement.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
That just happened to me today also. It switched from "H" to "E", then when I opened USA Today it FC-ed and the icon turned into a generic Android one like the app was on the SD card and unavailable (even though it's installed to phone) and then 5 more background apps that I didn't even know were running FC-ed (Amazon MP3, Finance, QuickOffice, something and then Facebook three times?) and the phone locked up. I was able to power off then back on, but data never came back even after waiting about 10 minutes until I powered off and on again. Quite odd.
I get the same issue where am connected to wifi and as soon as i walk away from it it doesnt connect back to the data network. I got a replacement phone coming so hopefully i dont have the same issue. Another thing is the random reboot and i get black screen a lot especially after rebooting
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
I've had the issue, but each time it appears to be related to JuiceDefender not properly enabling the radio. If I shut JuiceDefender off, the connection comes back, although sometimes its just easier to airplane mode it and be done with it.
I called T-Mo about it, they said call about a week after the inital release date and see if they have a fix by then, there isnt enough information kept since it hasnt been officially released yet.
I'm having the same trouble. Are you guys on the new sim card? I popped in the new sim card and the tech told me to not use it and just save it. I noticed when I put the new sim card a notification of a new voicemail came on. I didn't have any voicemail.
Edit: I'm starting to have some serious data issues. I'll get cut off, but my phone will still show full bars and "H". I try the whole airplane thing and it still does nothing. I constantly get the "check network setting, try again or cancel". My market wont load, browser says "unable to connect." This is getting stupid. When I call T Mobile it always start working and then cuts off shorty after hanging up. I've never had this isssue before. I live in the middle of the city. Only 3G around here. Its getting annoying.
Guys I'm afraid that it might problem with the antenna placement. Holding the phone on the bottom half will drop me from 3 bars of "H" to 4 bars of "G", then it will bounce back up to 4 bars of "E". If left on a desk then it will remain at 3-4 bars of "H". I notice this especially at a place where I have low-mid signal, such as my school (reinforced concrete FTL). When I have a strong 4 bar signal, it usually won't drop all the way down to edge but I do loose a few bars. I hope a simple software issue is enough to reduce this effect. I might be being crazy paranoid but I'm definitely noticing a lower signal than on my G1.
Try holding the phone by the edges, then hold it in a normal grip and see if the signal strenght changes (Menu->settings->status->signal strength)
I just got off the phone with tmo and was told its a known issue with the network affecting about 10% of users. The issue started for me yesterday on my hd2. He also said they have people working on it. I asked if I could get my buyers remorse set back 14 more days to ensure the issue is not permanment but he said that they are no longer doing extentions. I'm sure if I get tranfered to retentions the answer would change. I hope.

I'm also having the same issue. I just rebooted my phone, so I haven't had the chance of switching airplane mode on/off yet. I'll let you guys know if that works for me, either way, I'm hoping there's a fix from T-Mo.

Wow that's funny, my MYTOUCH does the same thing with airplane mode off/on. I also remember that the store demo g2 I played with last night had the voicemail icon in the notification bar, but when you pull the bar down, there's no option to connect and retrieve the voicemail. I found that even weirder since the phone comes preloaded with google voice.
Also experiencing the same issue here in Phoenix. Been having it since I got the phone on Monday.
I have been in an ongoing round of tech calls and will be having a follow-up with the tech who I spoke with last night... I've tried everything from APN resetting to swapping the SIM card to a total factory wipe -- nothing is changing this for me.
I *know* my neighborhood has full 3G access, but I am maxed out at 1 Mbps. (Before the factory wipe I was getting 0.35 Mbps.) If this doesn't change I may just return the phone and switch to Sprint to get the Epic 4G. I mean, I'm not getting HSPA+ coverage either way, and at least with the Samsung Galaxy S Pro I'd have a full 5-row qwerty...
>_<
Wow, this is really too bad. I was SO excited about this phone...

If this happens, try going to settings->wireless->mobile network->network operators and see if you get an "Error while searching for networks" error as I did.
Reset fixed for me too. But it makes me worry.
I'm on a brand new sim card (switched to TM from ATT). I'm having some data issues too. I talked to TM tech support and they reset my connection but that did nothing. Now they're going to their android techs to see whats up.
Hey yall, Recently got my new s5 from t-mobile. SM-G900T. i love this phone, but i have one issue that is very very annoying. At complete random it will say 4g or 4g lte <depending on where im at in my town>. i will show almost full bars but completely loose cell and data reception. unable to load web pages, and unable to make calls. it normally takes a power off let sit and turn on to fix. but that can last anywhere from 5 minutes to 3 days.. stayed in a hotel with Full lte. my S4 worked perfectly in the exact same spot. my S5 constantly droped out and would not load anything or call anyone untill i reset. all apps are the same thats on my s4. wifi seems to work when the phone network drops.. Has anyone else experienced this? its highly annoying and irritating. no error messages other then <you are not online> even tho my lte says full signal. <put my sim in my s4 to see it work perfectly in same area>
I'm having a constant problem with my phone. It seems like any time I leave the house and return, I'm unable to make or receive calls, until I reboot or switch airplane mode on/off. I still receive and send text/mms just fine, it's only calls. Anyone experience anything similar or have any ideas what may be going on? I have a constant 3-4 bar LTE signal.

Same problem
I am also experiencing this problem. I can send texts and otherwise use data to connect to websites and such, but cannot make or receive calls. When someone calls me, it goes straight to voicemail. When I make a call it does not even start ringing, or beep at the start of a call to indicate the connection.
I had this issue when i first got my phone. i had to call verizon and they updated something on their side and reset a few things.

Part of me thinks this wouldn't be a bad thing to have, just in case that pesky Ex decides today is the day she wants to call you. lolz
Nothing Worked
If anyone else is facing this problem, I would like to say that all Verizon could do was send me a refurbished phone. Even after a factory reset and resetting the network (on their end) worked. I hope this problem doesn't affect too many people.
Same issue - S5 will not make/recv calls

I had an issue with my S5 connecting to 4GLTE (Because of something stupid I did playing around). Chat give Verizon a ring (or chat with them on their website) and they will have you do the following:
1. Turn off WiFi.
2. Power down your phone
3. They will resync the signal (and do other secret things)
4. Power up your phone.
5. Your phone will reconnect to 4GLTE, the radio will then recycle, then connect back.
I've had zero issues since I did this a few days ago. Wouldn't hurt to try. Have your IMEI number ready for them incase they need it.
Solution, sort of

Didn't work for me unfortunately. I ended up going back to Costco and swapping it out for a new one. Back in business....for now. Thanks for the help.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5, 4G LTE, Verizon it can make calls and send text fine the problem is that it cannot receive calls and text. Grateful your assistance in resolving this issue.
I haven't had the issue for a while but I had to get a new phone from Verizon .
Since I updated to B29 I have noticed some serious cellular connectivity issues. While browsing the web I simply get no response. I have to toggle on/off the data switch in order to fix the connection, despite the phone showing 4G LTE and 3 or more bars on T-Mobile. Even accessing the Google Play Store I get a message the following message: "No Internet connection. Make sure Wi-Fi or cellular data is turned on, then try again", despite showing 4G LTE and 3 bars on my phone. Is anyone else experiencing the same bug? If so, has anyone found legit a fix? Or perhaps there is another bug you are experiencing. Please share with us in the forums.
Thank you for your time.
I haven't experienced any network issues since I updated. Granted, I didn't have problems with internet on B27 either. Which provider do you have? Did you fully wipe data when updating?
The only bug I've experienced is that sometimes apps don't stay in memory and have to be restarted everytime I switch back. A restart fixes the issue though
No issues on B29 with Verizon here.
No issues here on AT&T stock B29
Same here on att no issues.
I am on AT&T and wonder if others are having issue with going inside a building where the signal is weak and getting a "no signal" message? On the ZTE USA web site it has been pretty much nailed down to the radio hanging on to a weak LTE signal and dropping it instead of automatically switching over to 4G or 3G like it's supposed to do. I have had this issue from the day one, before B27 and B29. Hopefully ZTE will get the bug worked out soon.
My suggestion , before you blame the update is to call t-mobile and ask. They often have problems with towers, being hacked, etc and will not say anything unless asked.
I'm having issues with audio level dropping randomly. Happens when watching YouTube or listening to Apple music.
Some apps that could do background audio playback won't do it anymore in b29 for me, and the Facebook app closes when the screen goes off. Signal and all else seems to be the same for me.

I solved this issue with me a LONG time ago by turning off VoLTE. Did you try that?
I don't want to 'blame'the update, but ever since, whenever I minimize an app and then re-open it, it loads all over again. Webpage login again, games reload from beginning. I'm probably just missing something,...and it has nothing to do with update. Maybe I toggled something by accident,... Any ideas?
I got my new 2017u yesterday (iam german) and the first iam really impressed about the LTE/4G receiving but the 4G indicator seems to be buggy because it shows me allways 4G but in real i have only 3G/H. When i have real 4G/LTE it shows 4G and under that LTE.
I have my rooted so is it possible to change that, that it shows the real receiving instead of allways 4G?

thanx for clearing, dont know the difference. Hope that someone find a way to change that, but iam not the person, have not enough know how for that
Horizontal notifications are still unusable. How does something this simple still not fixed? Granted I hardly ever hold my phone horizontal but when I do and pull down the notification bar, I'm reminded how shoddy this software can be.

This is because ZTE chose a very high DPI setting for the phone making everything huge. I changed mine to 480 a while ago and everything is much smaller and landscape mode is a lot better. Granted there are still some graphical glitches here and there because of that change, but overall I'll take them. Hopefully when Nougat comes out they will ditch their in house quick toggles for stock ones and keep the new DPI slider so people can change it properly.
My cell service seems wonky. Almost any building I go in I loose service. While other phones also on ATT will have H+ my phone will say emergency calls only with zero bars. Occasionally I'll suddenly get service but never past 4g. When standing outside sometimes I'll get perfect LTE. Having zero service indoors renders this phone useless. Please advise. I have tried editing the APN settings and that doesn't help.
I did unlock the phone and and install superuser. I assumed that was the issue so I went back to stock and still the issue persists. I wonder if flashing twrp( the glitchy Chinese one) wiped or replaced my modem/Kernal.
Please advise.
I use ATT in Mexico with no issue so far. I live in the border with Texas so when I got the chance I'll go to the US and see how the signal there
No problems here or any of those issues with att and I live in a huge city with skyscrapers. So sounds like a faulty device. I'm bootloader unlocked and rooted.
This issue is more serious then I realized. Zero service in my home. I.e. I never receive phone calls when inside my home. Does this phone get H+? Old phones of mine had no problem at least receiving the call while indoors. Usually the quality was **** and I'd have to go outside. But now I'm not even getting the ringer or texts until I regain service and I have no way of knowing if I missed a call at least texts eventually come through prolly with the wrong time stamp. This sucks...

i have never seen H+ on my 727. still wondering if I knocked something out when I unlocked, rooted etc. seems the twrp is actually meant for the 720 so.....

hmm ok new thought. i remeber reading that alot of this phones battery saving ability is hyper aggresive. is it turning off the cell antenna when the screen is off. Then it takes some time to reacquire it/. in which case how do i turn that off....
