Hello! My Galaxy s8 can't seem to find any updates on my device even though it is not the latest version.
Software screen says: Latest update installed. Current version: G950FXXU1AQDD/G950FNZC1AQDD/G950FXXU1AQC8
On Samsung page shows there are: doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-G950F/DBT/doc.html
Phone info
Model number: SM-G950F
Android v: 7.0
Samsung Experience v: 8.1
Baseband v: G950FXXU1AQC8
Build number: NRD90M.G950FXXU1AQDD
Android security patch level: April 1, 2017
I'm from Europe/Romania and using Orange carrier. I bought it from someone who said the phone is from the UK which is true.
I did a factory restore when I got it and the phone is not rooted and unlocked.
Should I flash a new version? If so which one? I've never done this before so I'm really cautious.
same here i live in algeria can't receive oreo update , i'm thinking of flashing my s8 to the french firmware but i'm scared of breaking it
The samsungmobile.com link shows OTA availability for a CSC of DBT, which is German according to other XDA threads, not Romanian. Update availability is based on CSC, are you sure that your CSC is DBT?
I have the same issue .. please can anybody assist
I would try updating manualy to Oreo latest and then updating it to PIE
Just update from odin with home_csc to keep the data. But if you update from 7.0 to another android version, i recomend a clean install.

Hi,
A couple of months ago i rooted my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 LTE and now i have decided i wanted to unroot.
I wanted to unroot so i could easily update my phone again through samsung update as it wont let me if phone is rooted.
I went into SuperSU and pressed Full Unroot and rebooted my phone. After reboot i had lost root as planned, but when i tryed updating through
the update on my phone it still said my device was rooted.
I decided i wanted to go back to original factory stock firmware through odin.
I am able to find my firmware but cant find the same build number.
i wanted to ask does the build number change when samsung bring out an update or will my build number always be the same?
Here my phone details

Im on EE
UK
Model number: SM-N5005
Android version: 4.3
Baseband version: N9005XXUDMJ7

go to www.sammobile.com download firmware you need flash with odin factory reset should be good to go
MJ7 --> M= 2013 J= October
ML3 --> M=2013 L= December
M= 13ª letter
J= 10ª letter

You can upgrade from MJ7 to ML3 like I made from MJ7 to ML2.
Downgrade from MJ7 for one before not.

The build number is the firmware that come with. It will not harm your devices as long as the firmware is updated version. If your are updating to KitKat, you will not be able to downgrade to 4.3. Save your EFS file.
Thank you. I managed to find my MJ7 build and used odin and it worked.
but thank you for your comments i have a better undestanding for the future
You can go MJ7 > MK2 and return to MJ7 again also.
I have an unrooted SM-N910G purchased directly from Samsung in Singapore
The last update I received was 5.0.1
N910GDTU1BOC7
3.10.40-5042088
Build LRX22C_N910GDTU1BOF1
I heard that newer versions would be rolled-out, but whenever i have the system check,
it tells me this is the last upgrade.
can someone tell me whether I am doing something wrong?
The roll out for Marshmallow has just recently begun. Some countries have received the update for Marshmallow eariler than some. The speed of the firmware update release depends on where you purchased your device. I am still waiting for the OTA Marshmallow firmware update for my UAE N910C. Just be patient, I'm sure you will get it soon.
No matter what Singapore CSC is selected, all of them got the latest 5.1.1 update in december, 2015:
XSP, MM1

You can use sammobile or updato site to download firmware (updato is much faster).
You can also use samfirm PC tool to download firmware even faster and is recommended.
U can pick any region like DBT (Germany) , BTU (Uk) ect.
Did u rooted your device perhaps?
I didnt rooted but I had flashed a zip file which was the android 9 and from then I don't get updates.

All Samsung phones get major os updates for about 2 year's so the S 5 ,depending on carrier, country and if it's European, Asian, African or American, can be stuck from android 5 to 6.
See sammobile and search for your model and carrier (if not unlocked) what's the lastest firmware available.
If there's a more recent firmware available and you don't have OTA notifications or OTA dosen't give you it after tying a manual update, try to update with samsung kies installed on a pc.
If even this dosen't work, download ,from sammobile, the lastest odin (it's under your firmware) and install it on your pc. Then download the last firmware for your model (always from sammibile) and install it with Odin. On sammobile, under your firmware, there's the explanations for how to do it.
