use an adb to turn off your phone then flash the stock rom
you have three choices:
> flash any custom rom via twrp
> flash stock recovery, boot.img then flash firmware via sd card from stock recovery
> use asus flash tool to flash raw firmware (simplest way)

Don't use Flashify but Odin on the PC to flash TWRP. That should resolve the missing recovery issue. Otherwise you'll need to flash a stock ROM through Odin and start from scratch.

I tried twrp via odin.
So flash via odin stock rom, twrp, via twrp restore backup (ihave from few days ago)?
Can't I just "factory reset" recovery module (partition, settings, something)?

just reflash TWRP. No need to reflash stock rom.

Hello,
I've tried to used Flashify app to queue some actions:
-make nandroid backup
-flash rom
-flash gapps
It rebooted to recovery but nothing happened (stays at TWRP recovery start logo). Since then I can not boot TWRP. I've tried to reflash it, flash CWM (works, but cant read anything because F2FS).
/cache/recovery is empty
Where else could some TWRP setting/queued command be stored? I would like to do "wipe of the recovery", but dunno how.
Thanks for any tips

I have the same problem. It starts some days ago. Did You use AICP rom? Maybe its rom related. I cant fix that problem, flashed TWRP via odin - didnt help, CWM - didnt see cache and data due to F2FS.
Any solution?
..
Since none of what people suggested to do worked, flash stock rom

Try flashing stock rom. That also includes the stock recovery. Then reflash twrp.

Unless you want to stay on the stock rom, or want to backup some apps, then no. Rooting will not be necessary if you plan on changing to a custom rom again.
rooted my s4 again,
twrp is finally working
but i cant flash the rom
Error executing updater binary in zip
anyone has an idea?
i allready downloaded the rom again but the zip is not broken
Are you using the latest version of twrp?
Yes 2.8.7.0

That error is caused because the recovery thinks the rom is not compatible with your phone.
Make sure your phone is compatible with the rom.
Or try these steps I found online:
1. Advance Wipe > Wipe cache, data, system, dalvik partitions.
2. Select ZIP file of your ROM and flash it.
3. You will get E:Error executing updater binary in zip (Don’t panic!)
4. Go to Reboot menu > Select Reboot to recovery.
5. After rebooting in recovery, flash the ZIP file of the ROM again WITHOUT WIPING.
Then it should work, according to the site I found it on.
The execution error indicates that the phone may not be supported by the ROM you're trying to flash..
Hi ! as stated above im on 2.8.7 twrp but i need to put that sick RR rom, so I was wondering how to install hybrid twrp. I tried using the flash image thing on twrp to install that image and selected recovery partition between that and boot partition, but that didn't really work. I fastboot didnt help either, so since i didnt find any tutorial i was wondering if you pro's could help
what you mean by didn't really work?what the error message when flashing the recovery?
maybe the recovery file is corrupted, you maybe need to redownload it again and reflash it
Dear all.
I meet serious problem, it's very urgent.
I have a LG US996 Unlock version.
I worked unlock bootloader, and flash deodex firmware and TWRP.
Before less time, I tried RTN reset because my phone couldn't connect mobile network, not show any data icon.
After work RTN reset, my phone(US996) is booting to recovery every time. Phone can't boot system OS.
So, I want all re-flash to factory . How to get LG US996 firmware?
Or, Anyone know how to solve my problem?
I tried wipe data and cache, and re-flash ZIP firmware. But I can't solve.
Please help me.
Thanks.

You can try this, it's the stock us996 images. Flash the boot and system IMG through TWRP. You should be back to stock https://build.nethunter.com/misc/us996/v10d/?C=N&O=D
I will try it.

I will try it. I am trying download, the download session is disconnected every time. but I am trying again.
Do you know how to return recovery to stock?
I think that TWRP is not stable.
I am looking for recovery.img, the image is not uploaded extra folder on that site.

Sure no problem. What version of TWRP did you have when you were trying to flash the imgs through TWRP.
I didn't try through TWRP.

I didn't try through TWRP. I flashed by fastboot command. TWRP 3.0.2.0 is not show system partition when install IMG. So I used fastboot command (ex, fastboot flash system system.img).
After complete flash by fastboot and reboot, the phone can't boot system. but the phone was not boot into recovery.
So, I re-flash deodex system(zip) by TWRP and reboot, completed boot to system.
Do you understand? (I'm not good at English very well)
Thanks for your help. Merry christmas.

Yes you can,
> TWRP > Install > (install img button at bottom) > select recovery img > flash as recovery.

Though TWRP is the custom recovery, what is described above is flashing the stock recovery image in TWRP, which will overwrite TWRP recovery with the stock recovery. Upon rebooting to recovery, your recovery should now be the stock (Android) recovery. Both stock and TWRP recovery images can be flashed in TWRP without issue.
Of course, ideally you'll want to flash the recovery of the same patch level as your existing system. Furthermore, simply flashing the stock recovery over TWRP may not be enough to restore your device to stock and permit OTA updates - you'd need an unmodified system/kernel/stock logo as well.

What's the error and which stock firmware are you attempting to update/have on your device?
Are you certain your stock system is not modified? Even allowing TWRP to make modifications (allowing read write on the system) can cause an OTA update to fail. You may have to reflash the newest stock firmware in that case.
