Hello,
I am using a raspberry pi 3 model B and am planning to connect a GPS module and a SIM900a GPRS module to it.
Both components are connected via serial ports. Can someone guide me how I can connect both devices(i.e how to use both parts simultaneously) and also help me with any references to the python code?

I have the T-mobile XDA communicating with the web in terminal mode through RS232-to-LAN and a WAN adapters (NOT PC pass-through). My results are available at:
http://mywebpages.comcast.net/prutchi/xda_connectivity.doc
Although I manage to communicate with resources on the net via a terminal (ping, telnet, etc.), I haven't been able to trick IE into accepting my RS232 feed.
How can I restore access to the "serial cable" adapter in the T-Mobile XDA?
Is there an adapter driver that opens a socket such that IE can receive data from COM1 without expecting a modem transaction?
Thanks,
David
I am trying to use a Zonet v90 compactflash modem in the add on batterypack CF socket - why does it not work? do I need a driver? Where do I get one from please? Need to get access to isp in remote area
You will need a bluetooth connectivity PC wise. I have a standard run of the mill bluetooth dongle with Widcomm drivers. You need to create access for your PDA via network connections in Control Panel. You also need to create an incoming bluetooth serial port in the local services provided by the bluetooth program on your PC. (make a note of Com port as activesync needs to have the same com port assigned when it connects)
I installed Pocket Bluetooth tool on my M1000 running wm5 c. This programs allows extra bluetooth functionality after you have paired with a device. It assigns com ports to each bluetooth device..(up to 9).
Pair with PC. if you have an existing pairing remove it and redo pairing. make sure pairing is initiated by the PDA. Once you have paired it should show the bluetooth services offered by your pc. tick the activesync or serial connection. then it allows you to assign an outgoing port for the pc so as the pda initiates contact. Detailed guides are available on the net regarding creating bluetooth connections and creating shared internet networks.
All the servers at work have com ports for a console connection, it would be handy if I could connect using a serial lead and a terminal service to them with my XDA
Is anything available yet ?
Thanks
Serial "lead"
You may try the german company lintech's (lintech.de) RS232 Bluetooth Mini Adapter S (part No. 1409/s). Sits like a dongle on the server side and allows for serial via BT, p. e. with typical terminal progs. Works a treat..
Hi
I have been searching for a way to get Bluetooth Networking up between my Laptop(WIDCOMM STACK) and rw6828(WM5). But couldnt get it done.
I have Paried both Laptop and 6828. ActiveSync is up and working fine.
I want to have a bluetooth networking enabled between the laptop and 6828 so that I can use VNC client to control the PC through bluetooth network without having Activesync. But when I read the PC i could see only Serial Port, ActiveSync and Dialup Networking. I couldnt see Network Access.
I could get few links on the net but all of them are representing WM2003.
Does WM5 support this kind of configuration?
Can any one direct me to a step-by-step guide?
Thanks in advance
Can anyone let me know how to enable the networking on Bluetooth+WinXP+WM5?
hi parakash , i think i know you , do you work in garment sector.
anyway after pairing the device with the laptop, you have to connections
and you will find your laptop name there, just follow the line.
Hi Solo
Thanks for the reply. I could Pair with my laptop successfully. But couldnt find Network Connections there after. So wondering if this feature is support on WM5?
BTW I m not in Garment sector.
Portable 3G/HSDPA WiFi Router
Is anyone aware of such an item?
Ideally incl a car charger?
Or is it is possible to turn a WM5/WM6 phone into a portable WiFI AP ?
