well the battery is 1500mAh the nexus charged pretty quickly but it was 1400mAh i am not sure how much difference 100mAh will make on charging the battery but that could be a possibility.
Charging with the computer will always be slower, if that's what you're using.
I wonder if its the charger. The provided charger has an output rating of 0.7A. I know some microusb chargers I have seen are rated as high as 1.0A. That could be the difference.

I always try to avoid using the computer to charge my phone. It just seems to take awfully long even plugged into the wall.

Interesting...that could be. However, maybe it's 0.7A for a reason? Perhaps the battery needs to have it at that "flow rate." ???
We did get a different charger over the i9000, they had a separate USB cable and microUSB wall charger. We obviously don't have that setup.
Some phones have Li-Pol batteries and they have to charge differently. This could be why it's taking so long to recharge.
check a tmobile store or website for the new portable micro usb charger. charges your phone on the go and recharges itself via a usb charger the vibrant ships with or your computer. i got mine and was a lifesaver the other night when i needed to leave my house with 10% charged.

I completely agree. Charging takes fuggin' forever. My guess would be that turning the device off helps speed this up, tremendously. But of course, who wants to do that?
That said, battery life has been impressively long, provided you turn off Samsung's widgets. :/

That would be a huge design oversight if a generic charger caused problems with the battery. I'm sure Samsung thought about the user charging with a generic charger.

I have conditioned my battery twice and going from empty with the phone off and pluged into the wall not via usb-pc, took me over 4hrs each time.
If the charger is 0.7 going to a 1.0 would be a huge improvement. The only worry would be the extra heat and problems that might cause. With NiMH batteries quick charging is preferable to slow charging, is this the same for Li-ion?
came here for insight as well, woke up at like 5am, phone was almost dead, 10% battery or so

with my g1 turned off i can go from 0 to 100% charge in like an hour or so using a USB port. now i know the battery is smaller but c'mon... this is ridiculous.
Could it be that the phone just has to break in? When I first got G1 it would take about 4 hours to charge I remember, now a year and a half later I can get it to 80-90 percent in 1 and a half.
The computer USB standard is 100 to 500 milliamp, the USB walloulet adapter (charger) Is 700 milliamp, our batteries are 1500 milliamp and that's why.
USB cables have a certain standards witch includes voltage and current standards.
If you want a fast charger look for a hard wired 1000-1200 milliamp charger with a micro USB connector on ebay.

Interesting...having a 1000+ milliamp charger shouldn't cause heat issues would it for pumping in more juice at a higher rate?
At first when I got my nexus 10, it was charging quite nice, overnight would charge from 30% to 100%, but recently it stopped doing so, for example tonight after 8 hours it got from 35% to 70%, all stock: same cable, same charger.
Also, sometimes I used to put it on charge while using it, like when watching video, and it used to charge even if slow, now when doing this it says charging but the battery level goes down....
can the stock charger or cable be damaged? why did it stop charging fast overtime?
I used the its usb cable and charger few times to charge my new OnePlus, which requires a high ampere charge, can this cause the charger to overwork and then damaging its power output?
I read about the pogo charger does the job better, but I also read about the 28/24 usb cables, and I guess that the stock cable is 28/28, they did it like this to sell pogo charger cables. but the main issue here is that with the same combination it was better a month ago....
I have multiple chargers around the house with various amperages that I use for all devices, except I do have a bit of fear using my oneplus chargers with others for your same reason
About a month ago we decided it was worth it to buy the pogo dock on eBay for our nexus ten so it can be used as a digital picture frame when not in use, great decision, it seems to charge faster than any of the other chargers and get to see pics of our newborn all day as well
Consider either this or buying a new cable/charger for much less money. Either way my best guess is this is what you need, but you can always try a factory reset or reflash stock to see if it is a software issue

Mine had the exact same problem after about 15 months use. Combine the slow charging with the atrocious battery life and you're left with a barely usable tablet. I later bought the pogo cable and switched chargers to no avail. Then I just said screw this and sold it.
My nexus is 3 months old, so it can't suffer from battery wear down in such little time.
Will try resetting the whole thing and try again....
Like a lot of people I charge my phone over night, but with the 6p I wake up in the morning (after a good 8hrs) and its sat on 96-98%. Even though it still says charging.
It's no big deal but when I unplug and plug back in it charges to 100% relatively quickly.
Anyone else see this? I'm using an older charger (from my nexus 4) so may try the proper one tonight.

Isn't this normal behaviour? Most phones stop topping up the battery even when connected on the charger to avoid wearing off the battery.
I used to have my HTC m7 connected overnight to the charger and even though it showed 100℅ in the morning, as soon as I disconnected it from the main the indictor would drop rapidly to ~95℅ which indicated the above behaviour.

I've not seen it before. My galaxy s6 always came off charge at 100% as did my nexus4 and the 5x I owned briefly.

Mine is doing this as well. It seems to charge to 100%, stop charging, and not run off power at all. Since I use sleep tracking, in my case, I usually wake up to about a 90% charge. This is the first phone I have seen do this -- they usually charge to 100% and keep running off the charger. I haven't tried the stock 3A charger yet, as there really is no need for a quick charge overnight.

How in the world are you using an old charger on a Type-C Connection? (or are you using a converter?... if so, that may be the reason)
Just using a USB A to USB C cable into the power brick from my old phone.
Pretty straightforward really.
I'll try with the proper charger at some point. It's not a big deal.
Mine hasn't done that. Got it Thursday and it's had a full charge each morning. Using the supplied charger

Every phone I've ever had charges to 100% and stays running off the charger to stay at 100%. Last night (my first night with the phone) I plugged it in with 31% and woke up with it at 81%. It clearly charged....and then stopped charging only to run off the battery while still plugged in. Not normal for any other device I've owned. I would prefer it to stay at 100% until I'm ready to unplug it. Maybe using the supplied charger will do this. I used a USB A to C cable plugged into USB wall port. I have replaced several outlets in my house to ones with built in 2.1A USB chargers.

Why should it matter? wattage is wattage. Does the phone charge differently with the stock charger? Do you always carry it in your back pocket? Do you ever use a car charger?

Carry the phone in my back pocket? No, I don't but what does that have to do with the price of tea in China? I do not use a car charger either. As for wattage, I believe that the type C 3.1 chargers output at 100W and possibly 200W whereas the one you are using might deliver 18W. There might also be damage due to wiring with some of the 2.0 - 3.1 adapters but I'm still researching that.
So why wouldn't you use the type C charger? Besides, you can't plug it in backwards or upside down. And once you get a computer that supports type C the data transfer rates will be astonishing from what I've read.

Do you carry STOCK charger in your back pocket.
Point is, sometimes I need to charge it at work, or elsewhere as I may use it heavily. That's why I would use another charger. Point is, why does it stop charging on the charger and not draw from the charger once it's full. Like I said, mine charged fully then stopped using the charger drawing from the battery. Kind of pointless if I leave it on the charger to be full when I leave in the morning if it's not going to be full.
I'm glad its not just me who finds this a bit odd.
I used the same charger with my nexus 5x, galaxy s6 and nexus 4 and always found the phone at 100% in the morning.
The 6p obviously works differently.

I see what you mean. For a quick boost charge I can see you carrying a cord in your back pocket. I'm really trying to get a full 14-18 hours with this device no matter my usage. If I can't I really cannot justify this expense. I have 4 phones on my plan, a Samsung 5S, two iPhones 6s, and up until yesterday my N5. All other 3 got a full day plus even watching video and listening to music constantly. So no, I'm not carrying a charger, a cord or buying a car charger.
As for your problem of charging, have you tried the stock charger to see if you can get to 100%. I have already twice with no problem. Last night I wanted to unplug it once charged to see how much it drained overnight but I fell asleep at 93% and unplugged a few hours later. 6 hours off the charger it was still at 99% so I'm assuming it charged to 100 or close to it. Perhaps you can do a full charge overnight and then a spot charge during the day if you need. I'm thinking you might not.
I am also having this problem. I am using the included c to a cable to charge with. The phone stops charging around 95% and doesn't charge ever again until I unplug it and plug it back in.
These are the problems with this:
1. Cases where i do not have the included charger with me.
2. On long trips where my phone is plugged in all the time to prevent it from dying. (Streaming music, navigating, etc)
3. Sleep tracking
I'm using the Anker 5 port charging hub at 2A each port.
once your battery gets fully charged 100% - the charging stops to prevent your battery from overcharging. since your battery is not charging - your battery will drop down. once it gets down to 95% - charging resumes until it gets back to 100%.
in other words - that is normal.

Every other phone I have ever had did not do this and instead trickle charged at 100% and ran everything off of the charging port, never had a phone that constantly drops to 95% then back to 100%, that would be a roller coaster during car trips. The problem I'm experiencing is not that situation either; the phone will stop charging and never get charged again, so it could drop to 80% while connected to the charger. It knows it's connected to a charger, but doesn't draw current from it. Doesn't show the charging icon or charging AC, but the lock screen shows the percentage of battery.
I do have possibly some positive observations however. Last night I decided to try it without my USB 3.0 extension cable, and only the measly 1 foot c to a cable Google provided. Without the extension cable my phone charged as it should, went to 100% and stayed there with the charging symbol still on the battery icon. Upon removal of the charger, the battery stats showed only 3 seconds of use, whereas before it would just show everything since last 100% (which was sometimes 50 hours even though i charge my phone every night). I'd have to keep observing this to see if it was indeed the extension cable.
That's interesting wrt the extension cable. I have a extension as well. Will get rid and see what happens. I keep meaning to try stock charger and stock cable but can't be bothered.
It's not normal behaviour or else it'd happen on other phones. I've had nexus 4 iPhone 4s htc one m8 Samsung galaxy s6 iPhone 5s and nexus 5x all using the same charger / extension all have charged to 100% and stayed there.. Except the 6p.
It's not a massive deal, typically it'll loose 1 or 2 percent over night once it's been to 100.
Just an update, it was the extension cable. Phone charges to 100 at stays there until unplugged as is expected behavior. Just don't use USB extension cables to charge devices
I have read from various sources about the Leeco 727 dying a premature death due to burn out of the charger port. Some theories attribute it to bad Leeco supplied charging adapter or cable or faulty motherboard.
I tried a bunch of different wall adapters and cables to see if I could make some sense of it. What I noticed is that only with the Leeco supplied unit and an Anker dual port unit do I get any semblance of fast charging. There is no indicator on screen. I can only go by time observation.
Charging with other fast charge adapters seem to charge at a slower pace at 5 volt. From what I can see using a USB port tester is that when something charges at fast charge, it charges at 9 volt. I used a Samsung adapter and one from an orbic wonder which are definitely fast charge capable. They charge my old Motorola G4 at "turbo power" and a Note 4 at "fast charge".
I bought a unit from Allmaybe that has visual lcd of power consumption and it clocked down to a lower voltage after tripping the overpower indicator.
Maybe we need to throw away the Leeco wall adapter. It's possible that either it or the phone is drawing too much electricity for the port to handle.

A device like yhis Xdragon USB voltmeter might be helpful in debugging issues with charging.
Right now I am connected to a Samsung adaptive fast charger that can pull 9 volts but currently just pulling in 4.78 volts and about 700 mAh. At that rate will take about 5 to 6 hours to fully charge the 4200 mAh battery in the Leeco

The charger is fine, it was built according to qualcomm specs: https://www.qualcomm.com/media/documents/files/quick-charge-device-list.pdf
The Issue is that alot of phones were sent out with bad cables.
I don't think that it's just the cable.
I have been seeing hard shut downs while charging at night. It's not consistent so I am just going slow I suspect that the phone is shutting off to prevent overcharging the battery.
I have 2 x727 with asop extended 8.1 and blackscreen kernel 4.9 installed
I replaced the original LeEco USB C cable with a genuine Samsung USB C cable per the recommendation of other threads. "no change still shut down while charging overnight"
I suspect that it is a kernel battery issue so I backed up in twrp and I installed the regular version 4.9 of the blackscreen kernel. "no change the phone is still shutdown occasionally while charging overnight on a original leeco charger with a Samsung USB C cable"
So now I am trying both a Samsung charger and Samsung cable. I should revert back to the twrp kernel backup but blackscreen kernel is just too awesome!
The Samsung charger only outputs at 5.3V @ 2.0A
The LeEco charger outputs at 3.6v to 8v @ 3.0A or 12v @ 2.0A
I'm pretty sure that the problem is a software issue with the quick charge 3.0 voltage controls in the rom itself but I haven't gotten a log of the shutdown yet to confirm that because I haven't rooted the phone. The phone was getting uncomfortably warm when charging.
I'm betting that with the Samsung Oem quick charge 2.0 charger the phone will work properly without shutting down overnight.
I'll update this post with my results.

Have you tried simply reflashing the correct firmware?
I too have a X727 and had similar issues in the past while using a firmware designed for the X720, and alot of of Rom's come with the X720 firmware.

But the problem hasn't repeated itself since I stopped using one of the LeEco chargers. So at the moment I am blaming it on a bad charger base or wonky phone charging circuit, not the cable.
I was thinking my problem was software but I had already changed my roms Kernel to the appropriate blackscreen kernel from the roms stock kernel and the problem persisted on her phone until I stopped using the one included LeEco charger on my wife's phone, it's charging fine on the Samsung 2.0 quick charger, and mines charging without issues on the second LeEco 3.0 quick charger.
Unfortunately I can't just wipe her phone without causing her problems because she is always on her phone.
Is the problem hardware related in her phone is my current question? Or am I tracking a bug in the software.
If the problem is that charger base it should have zero effect if I put her phone on the 3.0 charger that I am using. If it is her phones charging hardware that test could permanently brick the phone Fry the charge port or battery ect...
So I am going to order another x727 if I can find another new one on ebay apparently most of the new US inventory is gone and the price is being gouged on the last of the new ones. :crying:
That way I will have a backup so I can do that test and have a phone to use for development. That's why I bought this phone in the first place.

You can buy usb voltage testers on Amazon.
If you happen to have a bad charging block just toss it, and buy a universally compatible Qualcomm Quick Charger. Such as this one: https://www.amazon.com/Charge-Anker-Charger-Compatible-PowerPort/dp/B016LO811S
Blitzwolf quickcharger and C cables. Bought 3 of each. All my charging issues disappeared when I bought them. Leeco supplied cable/charger are crap, why risk it?
FYI, I have experienced the condition where my charging stops randomly when using 2 different decent Samsung Travel model fast chargers. Stopped around 49% to 85%
Neither pulled in fast charging voltage-drawing a little under 5 volts and maybe 1100mah, as compared to 9 volts when connected to the Leeco charger.

As addendum to this issue, after a year and half my charger port finally burned out. Probably abused the phone a bit and got some moisture in the port, maybe it was just a matter of time.
I was able to resurrect the phone though. The actual replacement board is available on eBay for $5-10 with tools. Hardest part was using a heat gun to remove the screen. There are guide on how to open up this unit.
One thing I will tell you I am that you don't need to remove the battery to get to the USB board.
Just another note, either hitting my phone with the heat gun or mucking around with the battery unnecessarily caused the battery to start to malfunction. Battery would discharge quickly and phone would shut off randomly. I replaced the battery with some cheap replacement from China, cost about $16.
Also replaced the screen because I tore the ribbon cable by accident. The screen cost about $13. Definitely cheaper than an iPhone replacement!

Just put in a brand new battery and the phone will not go into turbo charge. Best I can do on any charger is about 500mAmps. Battery will barely hold it's own when the display is on. Let me go through the specifics:
Battery was acting erratic (random shutdowns, short life) and was replaced with a labeled Motorola branded battery. I believe it was charging in turbo mode before replacing, but it was so erratic I can't say for absolute certain. No drama on the installation, it went very smooth.
Battery capacity is now great. The random reboots stopped.
Charging is very slow, less than .5amps. It says that it is charging off a USB port. It does not give the turbo charge message.
Tried four different quick chargers (2.0 and 3.0) and a few different cables. Also tired it on a 2amp USB charger. At least two cables were brand new. All the same.
Cleaned out the USB port on the phone. Thorough cleaning a couple of times, not much junk out came out. Also tried some alcohol to clean the contacts. The connection feels tight and has positive lock. No help from that.
Factory reset. No help.
It has had a couple full charge/full discharge cycles. No difference in charge rate.
I have a USB detector that I can plug into the charger and run the charge cable out of it to the phone. It shows 5.2volts and about .4 or .5amps. Doesn't show the high voltage charge (about 8volts if I remember).
One thing that is funny is the charge rate as reported from Ampere. It first reports 1-1.5 amps initially and then goes back down to .5 amps. I suspect it is Ampere acting funny, not the phone. The USB detector does not show the initial high current. There might be a clue in there somewhere.
The phone is running stock Nougat and is not rooted. I am beginning to think it may be a software issue.

It could be the battery. Buying batteries has seemed to be trial and error for this phone. Where did you buy the battery from?
I know that problem with batteries. It's like a 50/50 chance of getting a decent one. I seem to have found a pretty good one. It was off Amazon, but it was branded Motorola. It says so right on front, if that is worth anything. It charges (just very slowly) and has great life. The phone used to do random reboots on the old battery, that is cured. I am inclined to think it is not the battery. Is there some specific check that you know of that would rule it out?

Fit the old battery again, if it turbo charges then the problem is the new battery.

That was a good idea. I gave it try but it was still in the awful slow charge mode. But that old battery was junk, no life and random reboots. Based on the condition of the battery, that may not have been a great test I will just button it up one last time and recharge it every night. On the plus side: Life on the new battery is as good as when the phone was new. That is a very nice phone and I would buy another new one if they were available.
