All right on nexus one its possible but i dont think so it will work with x8 ;/ for what you want this Operating System? Android is wonderful i dont know why you want this meego.

It's possible, but what for, this OS is dead on it's beginning.
Android is the best, **** the rest!
xD
And yes, this OS is dead from the beginning, because Nokia will use WP7 for its next phones, as far as I know.
And there are also different Linux kernels, our X8 uses 2.6.29, but stock Froyos and Gingerbreads use 2.6.32, and our bootloader is still not bypassed...
Actually it would be nice if we had bigger internal memory and could run those OSes without erasing the other one. Meego is great because it can virtualize desktop aplications, while android has a huge base of mobile apps, which meego will never have, since it will be abandoned after N9
Nokia is really trying to perform a suicide

I think Nokia N9 will be a hit after seeing how this phone is very beautiful and combined with os meego , well .. i see meego its not bad, each os have weaknesses and strengths , dont think android not had a weakness... haha:-D

Did you read yesterday's press release from Jolla?
http://jolla.com/media/documents/130916_press_release.pdf
They state, that Sailfish OS is now 100% compatible to Android SW and HW, which means it should be pretty easy to port the OS to our beloved HD2 =) !

Hi guys, I just saw SailFish has made it easier to port the OS to Android devices. Description http://www.jollausers.com/2014/07/sailfish-os-hardware-adaptation-dev-kit-release-1-0/
Anybody up to the challenge [emoji15]
Finally, been waiting for this. Hope the Z1C is compatible enough for daily usage.

As far as I can understand the announcement, they have made the porting work easier but still somebody has to do it [emoji6]
So hold your horses until some willing and capable enthusiast decides to put the effort (I am looking at you oshmoun and Omar [emoji15])

I might consider porting it, but there are many things in my to do list first, so will try after few days when I get free time (if no one has ported it then yet)

this would be great, having the of android and silfish os for xperia z1c.
Ah man!
Wish I had some space to spare on my laptop to do this
only 3-4 GB left :crying:
maybe the interest in sail fish os will increase when a stable version of sailfish launcher is out and people can test a little bit the "feel" of sailfish.
As the purpose of this thread in rather a discussion and not development I have moved it into General Section

That's sad, I don't have the knowledge to try it. Would be a dream to have the possibility to run sailfish on a z1c (and other devices).
What I saw and read about sailfish os seems to be very promising.
Damn would be so awesome to run sailfish on a z1c!!!
The best part of Sailfish on Z1c would be, doing away with onscreen navigation. I feel so @#$% not to have entire 4.3 inch screen at my disposal.
For Android there is a launcher, which is gesture based and does not need on-screen buttons. I am not sure about its name, but you will find it here on xda. I think it's called LMT...

There is a launcher for android from jolla (the company making sailfish os), called sailfish launcher. It's still an alpha, but the beta should be out in a few days (or maybe weeks).

Any News?
Hej Folks,
I was wondering wether there are any news considering the porting of Sailfish OS to our beloved Z1 Compact. Is there any possibility to do so at all? Or is it just because of the work going along with porting it? I'm a total noob and no idea how to port, but just asking.....
I'm also interesting in having SailfishOS on my Z1 compact. I can help test, if anyone is prepared to port it.
Cheers
Waiting for it, Omar said that maybe he could try to port, but... It seems that there is no interest
Enviado desde mi Z1 Compact
Omar is busy updating all his ROMs to Lollipop and making them run without bugs. I don't think he has time for this now
Hey,
are there any news on Sailfish OS für Z1c yet? I've read something about a new bootloader thing for xperia devices making it easier to install custom ROMs on those devices. I'd love to have a Sailfish OS-based phone, but am not willing to spend money for outdated specs at Jolla Phone and while my Z1c is still very much capable of most tasks.
Can't post links yet, but the news about the new bootloader stuff is i.e. on xperiablog . net

i really want multirom and bcmon also on the oneplus one what else needs to get ported to the oneplus?
Sailfish/MultiROM for the OnePlus One
I'm familiar enough with the process of porting/building SailfishOS that I could probably get it running on the OnePlus One in less than a weekend. The hardware looks similar enough to the Nexus 5 - at least as far as the Qualcomm parts are concerned - that it should be a fairly simple port.
I've been trying to save up for a new phone for a while, but I haven't found one that I like enough to buy at unlocked-phone prices.
Call me cheap, but I felt like I overpaid for my Nexus 4 - which I probably did, because I traded a tablet for it.
I don't tend to develop low-level stuff like this for phones I don't own or at least plan to buy, but I have a long history of "porting" Linux distributions (mainly Debian and non-Unity, "desktop" Ubuntu) to Android phones by modifying the kernel to load the root filesystem from a microSD card, among other things.
Before you get too excited, remember that I may or may not be able to get everything working immediately - just look at how long camera support has been missing from Sailfish on the Nexus 4. On that note, the Sailfish camera HAL is in flux right now, but once it stabilizes, getting the cameras working should be easier.
By the time I get an invite and get around to buying a One, there's bound to be other people working on it, especially if this is as important as I think it is.
TL;DR: In a few weeks I should have money, in another few weeks I should have a device, and shortly after that there should be code.
I'm pretty confident that it should be relatively easy to get the port started, but don't expect miracle-speed progress towards getting all the hardware working.

Hey,
Now we have released N5 I'm moving onto OnePlus, its booting into the Mer bootloader and switching root into SailfishOs rootfs at the moment but no UI yet due to gralloc issues.
Stay tuned.

MULTIROM for the Oneplus is a port, the Sailfish support is a reflection of this. You'll need a working image of Sailfish .. AFAIK no-one has made one yet for the Oneplus.
Anyone know if this is being developed?
I would love to see sailfish on the oneplus one. Does anyone know if this is being currently worked on or if there a compatible version out there on the net?
I was just wondering if anyone thinks we will ever get a port of the MIUI or EMUI roms or ones like them? Someone may already be working on one but I think having one would be awesome. Anyone have interest in these roms other than me?

Was reading on their G+ page that there is already a booting version of AOSPA for Potter. :good: they're just testing it along with the One Plus One and a couple other devices
Currently I have played a bit with ubuntu via linux deploy, but I would really like to have something more native like ubuntu touch.
And I am happy to know and also to tell you that the project is going very well, maintained by the Ubports Team and that the Halium project can make everything more pleasant not only for ubuntu but also for other linux projects / distributions.

Generally people buy Moto phones for stock android if you are interested in MIUI you should have bought Redmi note 4 which is even cheaper then Moto G5 plus and has 64 android Although miui looks like bloat and cheap mock off of iPhone to me.
I'm in the US on the Verizon network the redmi note doesn't work here on Verizon. I was just asking about general interest in the very popular MIUI and EMUI ROMs. They exist for dozens of devices that aren't redmi devices.

I didn't bought my moto g5 plus for just using stovk android i bought it because it is high end processing device and works perfectly i just want some more customization and want to use different roms mostly emui (not miui).. and yes emui doesn't look like any of that it's cool and more vibrant
MIUI and Flyme Os! emui 5
MIUI 9 and Flyme OS(whenever it will be launched for nougat) are the most awaited roms For MOTO G5 PLUS! Even EMUI 5 Is good and feels like stock android with app drawer n Customizations!!

Sorry I sound rude but I wanted to say that even if Moto G5 plus has 64bit processor it doesn't have 64bit os and never will be on the other hand Redmi note 4 has 64bit os also. So in my opinion people bought Moto because they love stock os over miui.
