Hello guys! I have Zenfone 3 max zc520tl rooted with magisk, and xposed can Substratum work on my Zenfone 3 max zc520tl? Btw it's android 7.0 and who have a custom rom for this device? Thanks!
Yes, substratum would work but only for apps except system ui.
be a bit careful coz sometimes it may cause bootloop, but there are ways to recover it.
TIP- dont apply overlays for system ui, notification bar, QS tiles and system stuff

So i have rooted my phone and i used substratum with the swift black theme. Everything works perfectly.
HOWEVER
This is now the 2nd time i update my apps by mistake and i cannot open alot of them, amongst some are magisk module etc. Last time i tried to revert changes trough substratum app but that didnt work(couldnt start apps still) i tried uninstalling but the apps still remained dark and some could not be opened.
Can someone help me out what steps i should take, thanks in advance.
Edit: As i cannot remove my own thread i'll add the solution that finally helped me.
Go into TWRP, find the substratum folder and flash the substratum recovery legacy zip, wipe dalvik/cache and it was fixed.
Go to substratum, delete theme and install again, uncheck new apps until they will be supported by theme
Im using same theme
Only tested in MIUI 9 oreo could work with nougat too
If your phone stopped working after applying a theme making your system ui stop and a black lockscreen you can easily fix it by doing what i found out as i didn't see anything on it anywhere else
Requirements
-unlocked bootloader
-TWRP recovery installed
Reboot to recovery then open file manager in advanced window
Go to /data/system/theme
Then delete the files with app names that stops
Like
com.android.systemui
Then just reboot and you're done ?
Nice
thanks, i wish i read this befoe reformatting my phone because of a theme i applied that made EVERYTHING dark and unusable. Xiaomi does fantastic hardware but the software side is pure ass.
Also forcing you to use their app to change themes is so greedy, at least make it work.
Same Problem with Miui 8
Hello i got this problem when installing third party theme on my redmi 3s with miui 8. But i dont have twrp installed and dont have unlocked bootloader. Can you help me?
Hi is there any way to complete disable navbar on Oreo without root ? Because every app i tried, when I swipe up it show navbar...
I want the opposite.
Is there a way to permanently show the navbar. Even in fullscreen apps and pictures and videos?
I'm on Oreo stock ROM S8 with Magisk root.
Immersive mode is the most annoying thing I can think of.
I got a G6 some days ago.
Bootloader is unlocked, phone has TWRP and Magisk 16.4 installed. Firmware is stock.
Root is confirmed working. I'm on Nougat, 11l.
However, a bunch of things are acting up.
- When trying to use any sort of navbar mod, be it direct patches, substratum themes (LGTweaks for example, very specifically for the G6), other apps modifying them, nothing happens. The button icons remain stock.
- When trying to disable peek notifications, which is confirmed working by a bunch of people, using "adb shell settings put global heads_up_notifications_enabled 0", the value is set (I can read it back as 0), but the notifications still appear as before.
Is there some sort of permission error that could cause the system to ignore changes like that?
Okay, this is just weird. After flashing Fulmics ROM and having the same issue, then restoring my TWRP backup of the stock rom, suddenly I have the modified navbar. This makes no sense whatsoever.
I was using substratum navbar theme to change custom navigation keys., but its not working in miui 12.0.1 global rom. Even with usb debugging and security usb debugging turned on in developer mode.
Anyone know workaround or some other good for custom navbar keys?
I tried some from google store but non of them ia working good and they are all full of annoying ads!
Rooted with Magisk 20.4
I would also like to know how to change that ugly navbar. button shapes, color, size, etc. No one knows anything?
