Both of these can be done more easily by flashing a zip.
Both zip can be found on my miui 9 drive folders.
All custom ROMs are flashed according to the same scheme...
Reviews are published in another section.
Options for different firmware can vary greatly.
Why this topic is needed here?
@Nordicus scheme is not always same for flashing all custom roms. This section consists video guide for flashing the custom roms which would help noobs and new flashers or users.
Please contribute to the thread if you can If you have issue regarding this thread then notify it to moderator.

Hi Guys,
I've got a stock A500 and due to the conflicting reports as to whether Acer will provide an OTA update to Jellybean, I've decided to flash a custom ROM as there as some minor quirks that are starting to bug me.
Anyway, I've found the thread to explain what to do - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1205204 - but it's left me with a couple of questions.
Selection of ROM
I can see at http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1136 there are links to various threads relating to custom ROMs such as CM10 Jellybean, AOKP Jellybean and CM10 Jellytime etc.
1) These have other topics scattered throughout so I was wondering if there's a page that summarises the various JB ROMs out there with a link to their topic page?
2) Without knowing each of the developers, how does one choose which ROM to use? Is there such a thing as a "vanilla/Plain-Jane" JB ROM?
3) Each of these topics have the first post outlining the ROM with a link to the zip file. Does the author update this link in the 1st post if there's update to the ROM or do you need to read through all the posts to see if the author has an updated link?
4) Once you've installed a custom ROM, how do you know if there's updates? Does the Update in Settings work or do you need to manually come back to the topic and see if the zip file is updated?
ROM/Kernel
At http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1205204 it says that you need
external SD card, root rights, unlocked bootloader (if you're on stock ICS), custom recovery and a custom ROM of your choice.

Yet further down it talks about Custom ROMs and Custom Kernels.
1) What are the differences?
2) What does a Kernel do?
3) Do I need this or just the ROM?
Thanks
PS - Not sure if this topic is better suited to be in http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1136, but since it's a question, the rules say that it should go in the Q&A section.
Mods, if this violates any rules, let me know. Thanks.
I would like to present to you my first ROM ever! It's built almost from stock AOSP, with maybe 1 or 2 changes.
Build Number: LMY47I
Android Version: 5.1.0_r3
Last Build Date: 03/31/15
Info
This ROM is practically a stock ROM. I did not modify anything major. ROM uses 5.0.2 blobs.
Bugs
Camera has flashing inside it. Installing Google Camera will NOT help.
Flashing Instructions
1. Flash ROM
2. Flash GAPPS
3. Flash SuperSU or your favorite Superuser app
Downloads
https:// drive.google.com /file/d/0BzKnVWnfS942aVB4ZEhUUUpSRG8/view?usp=sharing
(Sorry, new user, so I can't post URLs).
Future Plans
Integrate SuperSU into the ROM
Start adding more features
Other Stuff
This is my first ROM, so any advice and criticism is welcome. Also, it would be awesome if an experienced ROM developer could offer some advice on adding features to ROMs.
PM me with any bugs, and I will see what I can do.

Not really sure if it counts as an original, since all I did was compile and tweak some stuff.
Only senior members can create a new thread in the Development forums.
Correction: you may also need sufficient post count/status. Also, you can still send a message to the mods requesting them to move your thread to a development forum even if that is the case.
Since previous development thread was closed, I've been getting a lot of pms. Everyone thanks for the kind words and for offering me help. Thumbs up for this great community.
The reason I didn't post the link was because my laptop or my upload server let me down. At least that is what I saw when I woke up.
No big deal, thought I would upload it upcoming weekend. But as we all might know, today oos 2.2.1 was released. My custom oos was based on 2.2.x, so I was thinking to rebuild this rom again based on the latest software. Meaning it will take a couple of weeks before it will be ready.
So far this briefing. If you have questions regarding this rom, for now please ask in this thread.
Link to original thread:
COSX
To the features, just add the viper4android... And try to make the files app show the root directory too.
I feel you should post ur 2.2.1 build directly when its ready..take your time and i do support what u stand for!! and if possible add network speed indicator
Since there was no answer to this on the original thread, what do you mean by theme support? Layers?
I'll be patiently waiting for your release
But, for playing purpose, are there any guide somewhere to create a moded rom from a stock rom ?
I've been looking but all i could find was from 2012
I don't think it's as simple a remove/add apks from the rom zip :cyclops:
Request
Please donot remove the stock oos camera which has manual focus iso exposure .... __/\__ please
Hi all,
Iam actually interested in building ROM's, porting rom's and features to contribute to the community. But one of the major hurdle is finding right resources and right testing methods. So I would like to request senior members with some experience in porting ROM, multi rom, TWRP etc., to please create a tutorial or even provide few sources where a newbie can learn about ROM development. If not a tutorial, please just publish the methods you followed during the developments you have made. This would help the community by easing the pressure on currently limited good developers. Thanks in advance.:good:

Heyyo, actually a good guide would be to check out OmniROM wiki. They have a guide to porting ROMs from other ROMs to theirs. Otherwise? Please check the commit history of any rom that the LeEco Le Max 2 has been ported to.
https://github.com/omnirom/Docs/blob/master/Porting_Omni_To_Your_Device.md
Of course, every ROM is different so for other ROMs hopefully they have a guide otherwise you'd have to check commit history of other devices and see what they had to change.
You can also find a lot of the recent work the Le Max 2 community has done on here for device, kernel and vendor.

I can't recommend the omni way to build. It's harder for a newbie to build omni other then lineage. At least that's my opinion

Here's the link to build lineage specially for our device. If you have any problems, pm me. I can guide you through the whole process to build a rom. I started from nothing and learned how to build roms with help from great people so it's not that hard
Hey, if anyone has the pixel experience 9.0 (Android pie) build for Max pro m2, could you please share the link after uploading it. I knowl am asking a lot, but
Ihave been using PE 9.0 CAF a long time and really like it. I tried Android 10 builds, but they are just not that good. My file got corrupted somehow and all the pie builds have been deleted from the official PE website. So, if anyone could share gdrive or some other link of PE Android pie build for our device (CAF version if possible), it would be really helpful. Thank You.
