PC cannot detect phone in TWRP mode only - Huawei P10 Plus Questions & Answers

I hope someone haven't post this question yet because I already try to search on google about this but there's aren't any solution for it yet.
I bought Huawei P10 Plus 256GB from China (VKY-AL00) and I want to changed it to International firmware but when I boot to TWRP recovery my laptop can't detect the phone. I even looked at Device Manager but there 's nothing happen when I plugged the phone. If I boot normally or fastboot mode, my laptop can detect the phone and I able to access the files from internal/external storage. I tried to flash update.zip, update_all_hw.zip and update_data_public.zip directly using TWRP but it only giving me "error 9".
My phone spec:
-Huawei P10 Plus 256GB (VKY-AL00)
-Storage type: UFS
-ROM Version: 8.0.0.336 OREO
-twrp 3.2.1-0 oreo 2 version

I have the same issue with error 9 and TWRP doesn't support USB yet for Oreo it seems. I think the problem is TWRP is reading the folders as encrypted on the update section (folders show as random characters) but seems to see folders somewhat in the File Manager. I'm sure this is a work in progress by the fine folks in this forum as TWRP website doesn't show the P10 Plus.
What I did was flash back to Nougat using HWOTA, then back to Oreo also using HWOTA. Had to do this a bunch of times through my experimentation and it works well enough to get a clean Oreo install that accepts Huawei OTA updates. Both links are for a different model but I'm sure there's something for AL00, just want to you know what worked for me with the L29.
Downgrade here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-plus/development/downgrade-p10-plus-oreo-to-nougat-t3724382
Upgrade here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-plus/how-to/huawei-p10-plus-debrand-rebrand-update-t3715288
Download both the update and downgrade from Firmware Finder, I tried the DNS method but with TWRP it won't work. Download it, but make a copy because the HWOTA2 script from the downgrade removes the update.zip at the end (didn't bother trying to find out why, I just copy it back in when I need it). When I used the firmware in the links above I wasn't able to update through Huawei OTA, the firmware from FF with checking access before download gave me the best results.

Upgrade from 6.0.1 to 7.0 on A2017G stock

Hi, I am looking for help to get from 6.0.1 to 7.0 on my A2017G. I am currently on B10 with an unlocked bootloader.
This is what I have tried so far:
a. Route via OTAs and zips on sdcard:
a1. B10 with stock recovery. Android works. Got here from B9 with OTA B10 installed via stock recovery from sdcard (downloaded B10 OTA from German ZTE site).
a2. Updated from Android with the Axon7_Nougat-7_0.zip OTA on my sdcard (downloaded from the German ZTE site). Miflash completes without any error message.
a3. Result: phone reboots, after Axon splash screen, phone switches to edl mode (in windows: Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008).
a4. When I reboot to recovery, I can see that the recovery is 7.0.
b. Route via OTAs and N zip via adb sideload:
b1. B10 with stock recovery.
b2. In stock recovery, "flash from adb".
b3. On windows 10 laptop: adb sideload Axon7_Nougat-7_0.zip. Result: error message "* cannot read 'Axon7_Nougat-7_0.zip' * ".. Zip opens fine on laptop.
c. Route via TWRP and leaked Nougat 7.0:
c1. B10 with TWRP recovery, version 3.1.0-0-ailsa_ii.
c2. Flash ZTE_A2017G.Nougat_leaked_09_03_2017 BootStack and StockSystem by Tron1.
c3. Result: phone reboots to Axon splash and then switches to edl mode, same as a3.
d. Route via TWRP and complete fota update fota_update_A2017GV1.2.0B01_complete.zip
d1. Same result as c.
I have experience flashing with my HTC m7 but on the A7, it seems there are many more ways to make things go wrong and I have no clue where I am going wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
Some strange things:
1) my A2017G (bought in Germany via Amazon, it says A2017G on the back sticker) reports itself as a A2017U to my windows 10 laptop.
2) in stock recovery, when trying to flash from sdcard, I receive an error message that the A7 cannot mount the sdcard.
Replica - sorry
OK, it seems this thread finds lots of readers, so maybe someone can benefit from the solution that I finally found.
These were the steps I took:
a. Starting point was B10 stock (incl recovery) and unlocked bootloader, completely wiped.
b. Only way I could get the 7.0 update (downloaded from ZTE Germany) to work was by putting the .zip on a usb stick and using an OTG cable. Then, 'update' in settings found the zip and started to update. Result was v1.1.0B01
c. As soon as I booted into 7.0, it found the OTA for v1.2.0B02 and started to install that. So, I now finally have 7.1.1 stock with unlocked bootloader.
A big thank you to @raystef66 who provided lots of practical and moral support. Much appreciated.
How can I close the thread?
@piet8stevens Hi, I have a build number ZTE A2017G V1.0.0 B11, MIFavor UI 4.0, Android 6.0.1, Kernel 3.18.20 and I'd like to upgrade to more efficient less limitative version as I have battery drain and can't remove / change google main account with my version. Would you know what's the best version, Is the one you have now better? also do you know when you mess up the upgrade and your phone doesnt work can you still factory reset?

AFAIK, you can always do factory reset. There are some good threads with all the files you need such as https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/download-center-factory-images-ota-t3606547.
Not sure what you are looking for, but I had good experiences with RR and AEX Nougat. I am currently on RR (unofficial version) N. Am just waiting for O to stabilize a bit to make the switch - see AEX thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/rom-aospextended-rom-v4-3-t3618950 . I run nanodroid and microG in order to protect my privacy from google. So, no gapps, no google maps etc... .

Relocked bootloader only boots into eRecovery :/

Hey guys. So this is my final conclusion over my 200 posts I made without any response.
Id like to update my phone to VKY-L09c432B369. My phone is rooted with TWRP3.1.1(i think) and custom kernel (that famous one for huawei p10 plus, just check the forums) and Magisk. Also unlocked bootloader.
But none of the methods avaible to do to update my phone is working.
-dload not working.
-flash zip in twrp not working
-hwota8 method not working
-force power-sound lower-sound higher update not worknig
So I was like f*ck it lets just relock the bootloader and let's install the update that way, right? It should work, right?
But when I "fastboot relock oem xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" my phone only launches into eRecovery. Any idea how to fix it?
I toughed of boot.img reflash but that just doesn't work because in the VKY-L09C432B365 (version I have atm,) there's no boot.img so Idk what to do.
I'd really like this update because it adds face unlock
Thanks for any help.
My experience with oreo:
dload: doesn't work
hwota: doesn't work
force update: doesn't work
There are two methods that works
1) Firmware finder + erecovery click here
2) Flash full firmware with twrp:
Update Oreo to higher Oreo
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=962157660013070538
Open zip and copy OREO_FLASH Folder to your external sd card.
Download your wanted firmware and copy into OREO_FLASH folder. Update.zip leave as it is and rename update_data_full_public to update_data_public and the last one to update_all_hw
Then flash oreo_update.zip in OREO_FLASH folder with TWRP
Hope it works for you, I have a P10, this week I ended with frp lock and bricked system and only erecovery, with Firmware finder method I fixed it.
ADVICE: Never relock your bootloader if you are not in stock firmware (a working firmware)

[SOLVED] NRD90M test-keys - Nougat Stock Firmware Huawei Mate 8

Hi all,
I just want to share with you all how i solved NRD90M test-keys on my Mate 8. 2 weeks ago, I've successful to debrand from L29 to AL10 and updated to Oreo EMUI 8. After awhile, i found bugs or error when i connected to PC or Laptop, my phone will go haywire like someone is touching the screen everywhere. I suspected it might be came from cust.img that i flashed to make sim and data detect.
Then i made a decision to debrand again to DL00, and successfully rollback to MM B386 using Hisuite version 8. After that i flashed dualcu_cn.zip using TWRP and successful to debrand to DL00. I checked the OTA update, there is DL00C00B577 Nougat update and i download and installed it. My Mate 8 became NRD90M test-keys after successfully updated to Nougat. For one and a half day i searched in internet and XDA on how to get rid of NRD90M test-keys and update to next build of Nougat. On XDA, I've found several thread regarding NRD90M test-keys like https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/info-rom-nrd90m-test-keys-android-7-0-t3750147, https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/help/nrd90m-test-keys-t3549124 and https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/help/stuck-nrd90m-test-keys-t3590461 but without proper steps and procedures. So people like me a noob or newbies will stuck on how to solve the problem. So I've do some test for my Mate 8 by using one of this methods which are HuRUpdater, HWOTA and erecovery. I can said that 90% of chances rate it will success but you'll need to download FullOTA-MF stock firmware. I'm using erecovery so no need to download it.
Requirement:
1. Unlocked bootloader
2. TWRP Installed
3. HuRUpdater - Link : https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279
4. HWOTA - Link: https://cloud.mail.ru/public/DEWc/a9fDVbgpz
5. update.zip - FullOTA-MF (for me NXT-DL00C17B592-full in erecovery)
6. update_all_hw.zip
7. update_data_public.zip
8. Back up your data using HiSuite or SD card.
Instruction
Method 1 using HuRUpdater
1. Make sure your bootloader is unlocked and TWRP is installed.
2. Download HuRUpdater.zip, update.zip-FullOTA-MF (your stock firmware), update_all_hw.zip and update_data_public.zip.
3. Make a new folder in SD Card root (you can name it base on its firmware) and put all the zips that you already downloaded in the folder.
4. Boot your Mate 8 to TWRP and choose sd card > folder > HuRUpdater.zip. It'll reboot into recovery and start flash firmware.
5. Your phone will update to the newest build number base on your stock firmware.
6. You can follow the steps in this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-9/development/tool-flash-official-firmware-recovery-t3769279
Method 2 using HWOTA
1. Make sure your bootloader is unlocked and TWRP is installed.
2. Download HWOTA.zip, update.zip-FullOTA-MF (your stock firmware), update_all_hw.zip and update_data_public.zip.
3. Extract HWOTA.zip into HWOTA folder in your PC and put all the zips that you already downloaded in that folder. Copy HWOTA folder in your SD Card.
4. Boot your Mate 8 to TWRP and choose HWOTA folder and select nxt_hwota_update.zip. It'll reboot into recovery and start flash firmware.
5. Your phone will update to the newest build number base on your stock firmware.
6. You can follow the steps in this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/mat...ate-8-t3785320. This HWOTA.zip also can use to flash OREO EMUI 8 firmware.
P/S: I think HuRUpdater and HWOTA is the same method but using different script binary.
Method 3 using eRecovery
1. Press Vol + and Power button at the same time for 3-5 sec.
2. Choose your WIFI (need strong connection), if not it will failed to download recovery firmware.
3. If your WIFI have a strong connection it'll start to download recovery firmware and install.
4. Wait until finish installation
5. Your phone will update to the newest build number base on your stock firmware.
P/S: If you're using C636,C432,C185, i think it's useless. because i'm from C636 it's never captured the recovery firmware. so in case if your phone bricked or test keys, you can use HuRUpdater method. This method only working on chinese variants is what i think.

So originally you came from NXT-AL10 and without changing oeminfo with SRK Tool then you used the HuRUpdater?
Is it your bootloader still unlocked or locked?
I did not change oeminfo, or rather I tried with SRK tool, but I did not succeed.
Yes, I used HuRUpdater.

TWRP Huawei mate 8
Hello, my people, how are you?
I have a doubt, the truth is I am very new in this.
I have a Huawei Mate 8 NXT-L29 which updates to Android 7 with an app called "Firmware Finder for Huawei" and then I started my problems, the clock does not work, I can not enter the updater among others. What I would like is to change that rom for another or if it were for a stock.
I have the bootloader open and a TWRP (twrp-3.2.3-0-next) which is the only one that has worked for me but I have not been able to install another rom it tells me this: "error when dismounting" / '/ cust /' (invalid argument) and I do not know what I'm doing wrong ...
the compilation that this app left me is: NRD90M test-keys
and the rom that I want to install is: NXTL26C605B580
I would like to know your recommendations and corrections to what I am doing and thank you and I apologize for my English, which is very bad!

Try to install Service ROM from SD card using dload method.
Link:
https://androidhost.ru/41d
Follow instructions in file "ReleaseDoc". (Read everything carefully before doing anything).
Through this process, your data will be deleted and bootloader will be locked again.
Dload method works with Stock Recovery only, you have to install Stock Recovery first.

Hey dude !!
So you bricked the device ....
I don't know why but if you want B412 firmware
you can use @-Alf- guide and re-upgrade via Firmware Finder
to B370 fullota-mf-pv first, then to B412 fullota-mf...
Or download a previous from B412 firmware (ex: VNS-L31C432B410 fullota-mf)
and use HuRupdater method to flash the firmware.
Extract then stock recovery from B410 via Huawei Extractor and flash it via TWRP.
Re-update finally to B412 using Firmware Finder.
I can help you doing this, worked on my ex device but i can't guarantee 100%.

"I would like to sell it. So I would like to re-lock the bootloader and re-install the original rom."
Piece.
Hello,
I reinstalled the custom rom that I found on the net: C432B414 with Hurupdater.
It works.
However, the bootloader is still unlocked ... however, I would like to return to the factory configuration with the bootloader locked.

For dual SIM only!
1. Unlock bootloader , (get unlock code here )
2. Install TWRP 3.0.2.0 (the p9 lite section is full of instructions on how to do it)
3. Download VNS-L31C432B370 fullOTA-MF-PV firmware (2 ZIP files), link:
https://cloud.mail.ru/public/D4kV/xcpuDX7Eu/
and copy downloaded files to the SD Card
4.reboot to TWRP, tap Install, Select storage Micro SDCard
5.Flash update с432b370.zip
6. go back without reboot (!!!), flash the additionnal package update_data_full_VNS-L31_hw_eu.zip
7. In TWRP's main menu select Reboot system.
Note: read the instructions carefully, check unfamiliar terminology by google or xda.
After successfully installing EMUI 5, you can upgrade to a higher build number via the dload method and Service ROM
B416
(Instructions can be found in ReleaseDoc folder).
Good luck!
P.S.:keep in mind that all firmwares that end with even numbers are for dual SIM (odd numbers are for single SIM).
