[Solved] Can´t update to CAN-L11C432B393 - Huawei Nova/Nova Plus Questions & Answers

Hi,
has anyone upgraded to the latest version for CAN-L11?
I've completely reinstalled B382 via the force Method (* # * # 2846579 # * # *) and then I tried the same with B393. But every time it breaks at about 57% ...
The phone currently has a stock recovery, locked bootloader and is running on CAN-L11C432B382. Previously, the bootloader was unlocked and I tested Lineage. After that i flashed a backup with TWRP, flashed Stock Recovery and updated to B382.
Any ideas?
Thanks and best regards

I´ve found version B392, it runs perfect and with Android Security Patch January 2018. So thats now fine for me.

How did you do that?

Downloaded Version B382 (you can use Firmware Finder) and flashed with the force method. Version B392 came with ota.

I tried this method but it doesn't work.

Which error you get? Correct Version for your device downloaded? Have you create the dload Folder on external SD Card and copied the Update.app (from update.zip) into it?

I downloaded ROM - CAN-L11C432B392 from this site: http://www.stechguide.com/huawei-nova-b392-nougat-update/. Then I created dload folder on SD and extracted update.app there. And nothing. On 53% phone showed error.

It seems like the same problem that i had with B393...
Probably this Version is not supported from your device. There are several Versions from B392 and its depentent from your IMEI, which Version you can install. Preferably you install Firmware Finder Apk, you´ll find different Versions from B392 and check the compatibility.

Today i get an OTA Update to B393, so this thread ist solved.

You've got a PM >
Remember, you CANNOT install the stock Roms from within the recovery.
To install a stock ROM, all you have to do is:
- Create a folder on the SD card named "dload"
- Get the contents (usually 2 big files) of the stock Rom archive and place them on the "dload" folder.
- Switch off the phone and press Vol+, Vol- and Power.
The stock Rom installation is automatic and you don't have to do anything during installation.
oh ok, good to know.
problem solved already tried to install older version of miui. the new version was messing with my phone nothing worked with it.
thanks anyway saving this for the future <3 !

Where can i find this rom archive? I'd like to have a rom backup of my phone U8800 V100R001C00B135SP01CUSTNLDC253D001 (The Netherlands) before i flash anything. Is this the latest stock rom for my country? If i would resize data will this be a problem when restoring the stock rom?

I would advise against resizing the partitions, as it's difficult to restore them in case you need the phone for warranty.
I've sent you a PM with some info, let me know if you need more.

[Q] Blue screen and i am desperate :(

I was only trying to install a new rom but with cwm i deleted everything by mistake, boot etc. After that, when i tried to open phone, it went into blue screen and i connected to pc but there were no files. SO i put
amss.mbn
boot.img
EMMCBOOT.MBN
recovery.img
files to image file that i created but still cant open. And before deleting everything, i had a problem, in cwm it gave error "cant mount sd card".
I tried to format sd card but it did not.
SO, i cant use internal sd card but i found 8 gb sd card of my brothers, but i dont want to lose his files. SO what can i do now with thhat?

I want to upgrade to cyanogenmod, because it seems it is the latest.
1-Check your stock version. If you are on froyo 2.2.* go to step 5 else if you are on official gingerbread 2.3.5 continue to step 2.
2-Given that you are on official 2.3.5 you need to downgrade to stock froyo.
3-Get the latest stock froyo from here and put the dload directory into your sd card.
4-Power off. Press both volume keys and power on. Wait for the update process to finish. Once rebooted wipe data/cache.
5-Get Official CWM from here.
6-Remove the dload folder and boot into pink screen by holding both volume keys and power on.
7-Replace recovery.img with the cwm recovery provided on step 5.
It saysthat. First i should install stock froyo?

Accidentally deleted my wifi.conf file. Pls help!

Hello and Happy New Year,
I made a n00b mistake and accidentally deleted my system/etc/wifi/wifi.conf file when I was trying to move/rename it and the wpa_supplicant.conf files in order to fix my wifi issue.
I'm unable to find this file anywhere. Is there anyone else using the SGH-i337M model handset that can send me theirs?
Please and thank you!
Just flash the latest stock firmware (if it's available) OR do a data factory reset in stock recovery and that should fix it. Of course you might lose everything so make a backup first.

I've already done that. It hasn't shown up after any firmware flashes, stock or custom.
I've also tried just extracting it via the ext4 packages but can't find it.

I'm having a very similar problem in that i think some files from my EFS folder got deleted somehow. I've done the same thing you have and no luck. I found a post once on XDA with a guy who shared his EFS folder but then the post was removed because you then got his IMEI number if you copied all the files over. I would love to get a copy of that zip folder.

after multiple flashing and reading, i found out that you can only view the EFS folder with a file explorer that supports root (root explorer, root browser, es file explorer...), otherwise it always shows empty.

How to flash OTA update manually?

The Huawei Firmware Finder app indicates that there is an OTA update for the Tab (BTV-DL09C100B009). It is 424 MB. I could download it but I don't know how to install it. The zip contains several .dat files and two folders besides the 'UPDATE.APP' file.
Meanwhile the Tab's own HiCare app cannot find any update.
My version number is still BTV-DL09C100B006.
Some help would be appreciated.
Just follow the steps of Firmware finder
1. ckick rom
2. click download
3.click chek MD5
4. click move to DLOAD
5. tunoff device
6. Press ALTOGETHER : Vol UP + Vol DOWN + POWER
wait a few seconds and MUI screen apears to install Firmware
Thanks, but in this case (incremental OTA) it does not seem to be the right solution.
The Firmware Finder copies only the update.app to the dload folder. That file is just 75 MB from the 433-MB-big whole package. The rest of the files and folders inside the ZIP are omitted.
So, another method should be used but I don't know what.

YES sorry I missed Step 4.
You have 5 steps in Firmware Finder:
1. CHANGELOG
2. DOWNLOAD
3. CHECK MD5
4. UNPACK UPDATE
5. MOVE TO DLOAD
Any way it is always better to Install FULL FIRMWARE Rather than Incremental UPDATE, It only takes a few minutes longer but you have a FULL FIRMWARE UPDATE with all your data saved.
You can also use Firmware Finder for Windows and donwload your firmware, then you just have to copy the UNPACKED File UPDATE.APP to the: ( dload ) folder in your External SD

If you have already UNZIPPED the download file, Just copy ALL the UNZIPPED files to an dload Folder in your Externalñ SD. If you dont have one Just create a New Folder in your ExtSD and RENAME it : dload
Then Power OFF and press: (Vol Up +Vol DOWN + POWER ) and the system will recognize the UPDATE.APP file in the MUI screen

I did exactly the same what you wrote. And I flashed the update with the method you suggested. Everything went smoothly - seemingly.
(I am not totally noob, this is the fifth Huawei device I've been handling. My current phone is Huawei P9 Plus and I've put on all the new ROM versions 'by hand' becauce OTA did not come.)
But something was wrong because
a) the update process went through too fast, just a couple of seconds from 0 to 100%.
b) the version number has not changed. I still have BTV-DL09C100B006,
c) the dload folder and the whole extracted package in it were not deleted after the process, remained on the SD card.
So I suspect that only the UPDATE.APP was installed, the rest of the package not. The M3 now keeps working normally but unfortunately there is one problem: the tab lost its 4G (LTE) capability after the update, now the phone radio works only in 3G and/or GSM mode.
You are right, a full ROM flashing is always better, more secure but there is NO full ROM available for this Tab! I've searched the whole net and found only OTAs for the M3. I'd like to get back the normal functionality because I bought the device exactly to have quick access to the internet everywhere.
So I don't know what to do. If you or somebody else could find a full ROM for the device I'd be very grateful!
Problem solved!
Problem solved!
Earlier I tried to update the M3 with HiSuite but there was no package available at that time. Now, after my unsuccessful manual update, I connected the Tab to my notebook again and ran HiSuite. And voilá: now it offered the B009 update.
The install went without problem and now I have BTV-DL09C100B009. The LTE data capability came back, and everything works well so far.
Anyway, thanks to those who tried to help!

P8 Lite bricked, need a solution

Hi,
I have a problem with my P8 lite I bought today from some guy. It's stuck on boot logo, I tried wipe cache, factory reset, nothing helps. Tried fastboot, but my phone is locked in a nice green color. Can't unlock it since I don't know any numbers (IMEI, serial, firmware, etc), neither do I have the original package, so basically I'm stuck there. Tried the 3 button method with a 4Gb SD card and a "dload" folder on it with an "UPDATE.APP", still nothing, at 5% it says "Software update failed! Get help from ..... ". Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I watched some youtube videos and saw some guy putting the "dload" folder in the internal memory but since the phone is bricked I can't access it. Maybe that's the issue? Or do I have to use a card adapter instead of my old android phone for data transfers? Pardon my English, I'm more of a speaker than a writer. Any help will be appreciated.
Update: tried software b895(vodafone), now it said "incompatibility with current version" instead of "get help". Am I getting any closer?

I tried UPDATE.APP, because if I get it right, UPDATE.ZIP is only flashable through TWRP, is that correct? I'm doing everything with the 3 button method, anything I try just fails. And upload to SD takes so long that I'm starting to lose patience... Maybe there's some custom ROM that can be flashed through UPDATE.APP? Maybe it's possible to make (convert) one? I'm new to this phone and I swear, this has got to be the most annoying phone ever... I've never encountered such problems with Samsung or Sony phones. Thank you for trying to help because I don't have a single clue of what is going on, since it just says "get help".... Yea, I'm trying to. What about the Vodafone firmwares, why is it telling me that the version is incompatible with my current software? Does it mean that I have to find another version of Vodafone firmware or that I have to use something other than that?

Could you explain more thoroughly please? I tried changing UPDATE.APP extension to UPDATE.ZIP just by renaming the file, put it on a blank SD card (deleted dload folder), but no luck... I read somewhere that this phone could have had a custom firmware installed and that's why it won't budge? Is it possible for example to install TWRP or any custom firmware like AICP and etc. with this method? Then I wouldn't have any issues.

Don't change the extension... Don't extract the update.app from the zip, just let the zip like it is and paste it into internal or external storage, is a flashebel zip and works like update.app.

The contents of the zip file are usually a dload folder with some pdf and word files and something like that, so, I need to have just the update.app in the zip file?

Hi, no, it just has a dload folder and a pdf file for instructions. Do I need to rename the zip to update.zip with all of its inside contents or do I just put the update.app file in an archive?

Hi, I've tried alot of them, just googling and downloading everything that says "ALE-L21", eventhough I'm not even 100% sure about that. For example this one:
Huawei P8 Lite Rollback Package (ALE-L21 C900B500, Android 6.0 to Android 5.0
I don't think this is the right one, Update.app doesn't work, these zips don't work, persona78 mentioned something about META-INF folder, but I can't find a rollback package like that anywhere, I saw some firmwares with that folder inside but they don't seem to work. If I knew exactly what I need to find and do then there would be no problem at all.

You P8 Lite is dual-sim, correct?
If so, try this link https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73230358&postcount=2
Put it on a folder inside the SD card:
1- Try creating a "dload" folder with just the update.app AND the update.zip
2- If you have space or with doesn't work, delete the previous and just put the update.app AND the update.zip in the SD CARD main folder.
Let us see if you have luck

Yea, it is dual sim. The last time I tried b895 it said "incompatibility with current version". And the others just don't seem to work. But I will try once more the way you told me.
