Im noticing a small issue with my camera. It doesn't want to auto focus when I switch from looking at foreground then background subjects and vice versa. For example ill start the camera looking at my hands close up then point towards something further and it does want to focus on the further object automatically. Anyone else run into this issue? I've test both the stock camera and google camera apk

I know this has been asked on this forum many times, but has anyone ever figured out how to get pictures taken in portrait orientation to send properly in an mms message without cropping the picture? This seems to be common across the entire Android lineup, but I can't for the life of me figure out why this is so damn difficult. I've tried the stock messaging app as well as handcent and no luck. However, if I open up the picture in PicSay Pro, and export it to a text messaging app the orientation is fine. Can anyone shed some light on this or is it a lost cause?
I think it has to do with the camera software. I was having the same problem, when I sent a pic taken in portrait it would send sideways. So I flashed Liberty v1.0 Tom, and that has a camera software that rotates, and allows for sending or taking photos in portrait. If you don't need a new Rom, I'm sure there are camera apps in the market for your camera.

• Rom, darn auto correct.

I'm using Apex right now, and it has the same issue. I think the problem is just with the Android camera app, but I was hoping someone had come up with a fix without having to use a third party or editing solution.
Got ya.

For some reason everytime I take a picture or a video using the Front Facing Camera it comes out mirrored. I have looked around almost everywhere on my phone for some type of setting to keep it from doing that. Any ideas how to fix this?

The stock camera app doesn't have that feature. Try third party camera apps from the Play Store.
I have this issue, you can get the image the right way round using the mirror feature in the image editor.

Hi guys,
I am hacing a problem with the autofocus on the default camera app on the nexus 4.
Before when I clicked a picture at the last moment it would make sure the camera is in focus before snapping a picture.
But now it just focus hunts with the focus shifting back and forth and the final result is unacceptable.
I want it to go back to the way it was before.
If I use another camera app like say the ever note camera it works perfectly fine. I'm only having a problem with the default camera.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks a lot guys
Its the way it is.

I understand your problem, but IMO it is not really a problem. Just tap on the object you want to focus and then tap on the circle to take the picture.
Just tapping on the Circle sometimes keeps the focus and sometimes not. its better if you tap and hold for a while before you release your finger.

Hey, thanks for the reply.
I just installed a custom camera app instead and its working like a charm. Its called QuickSnap.
The funny thing is that the default camera used to work perfectly fine before the 4.2 update.
Great!

Thats good, I myself noticed this thing on the stock camera app. but then again just few more taps fixed this but yes I tried Snap Camera
there no such issues with that, even on Instagram camera.
But I don't know why i feel that stock camera app is the best.
Cheers!
I'm having this big problem too.
Any of you guys notice that sometimes when using the flash it'll show the picture as overly bright right after you take it? but once you view it in the gallery it looks normal

Nope, i've searched everywhere but nothing.
I would like to know if there are any solutions out there to prevent the stock camera from flipping/reversing photos taken with the front facing camera. I know there are alternative camera apps that have the option enabled however I prefer the stock camera app due to its quality and functionality with the 6P
Just wondering if there were any mods, apps, editing tricks or work arounds to prevent android from reversing photos taken with the front facing camera.. Its pretty inconvenient to manually edit and flip them myself.
So you want them to stay backwards? Mine shows them as mirrored or backwards in the viewfinder, but are flipped to be "normal" when I view the photo afterwards.

Correct! I would like them as they appear in the view finder.

I hate it too. I saw the image I capture in my view finder only to look at it on my laptop and I'm like ummmmmm what's this

I have this too on my Nexus 6P and Oneplus One, really hate it. There is no option to disable it, so I would like to have an (root needing) app or a xposed module to fix this. Anyone?
Nexus 6P selfie reverse
Hello Everyone, I am facing trouble with selfie (Nexus 6P), the images are in mirrored mode. I tried to reverse the photos, but no luck. I hope everyone got the settings already, just reiterating. When I am taking selfie with my Nexus 6P. The image showing as reverse but when I goto gallery it is storing as original( Not mirrored). So I am picking the photos from gallery and sending my dear ones.
Thank you so much

Has anyone noticed how the front facing camera on snapchat is zoomed in?
Same on Beta

This is happening on the Beta as well (v 10.6.6.0). I also noticed that the send button is mostly covered when choosing more than one person.

Ya I noticed that too. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Hopefully they'll fix that soon.
A fix
I have the same issue.

I'm having the same issues here but I was feeling the same way when I use the default camera. Seems like the angle is wider on my S7 than on my S8
I don't think its technically "zoomed" in. If you compare what you see in Snapchat to default camera, you will notice that you still see the same amount of vertical image. But because of the 18.5:9 screen ratio and the way Snapchat works, it crops off a lot of the side image. Same goes for the back camera. And yes, S7 and S6 have much wider front facing camera, it was probably reduced to fit in the focusing mechanisms.
I've noticed if you view Snaps with a 16:9, the top and bottom will be letter boxed. Where as my friends who have also an S8, will fill the full screen.
Hopefully Snapchat will include a way for you to pick a screen ratio, but i doubt it.

Damn, I would take the wider aperture over the auto focus any day.
I'm glad i'm not the only one having issues putting doggo filters on selfies

yea you can definitely tell the difference. i usually just take a normal photo and then use snapchat and select from gallery
I've also noticed this. I hope they fix it. It really annoys me?
Yeah the option to opt out of full screen crop mode is greyed out! I hate the S8 cropping out my pictures and other peoples pictures
I'm having this same problem and it's driving me NUTS. It makes me not want to use snapchat anymore. Grrrrrr.
Horrible hope they fix this!! I don't need close ups of every pore showing up on my face in Snapchat.
Its also pretty annoying where sometimes you can't swipe out of a story (swipe up to get the soft keys to show and then back) as swipe up from the bottom is also "chat" within Snapchat.
My instagram does this too!!! So frustrating. I have to use my normal camera on my s8 and then use the gallery option to edit it on Instagram . I hope it gets sorted!
This is awful, I've had the phone a few weeks and as soon as I used snapchat I noticed how close it seemed to my face, every single pore! What the hell is that about!
Its November now and you guys noticed it earlier in the year.. I'm guessing there is no fix
