Can you update without it wiping your device? ( Not a noob, but new to the Pixel XL 2) so just at the learning stage for this device :silly:

I hope they get rid of the stupid Gmail sync notification.

Yes you can manually flash the images
If on windows
Download the image and unzip it then you will have a flash-all bat file rename it txt and open in editor at the end remove - w and save and rename back to bat file
And then fastboot the image
Tell me if you want detailed instructions I'd be happy to help
Cheers ?

I'm on February update STOCK, if I click on Check for Updates, it says I'm Up to Date... Shouldn't the Check for Updates Button works? Thanks in advance!

Well it was fixed if you use a specific version of play service
You can Google for that version number and apk
Cheers ?

Did they fix the persistent WiFi bug where it would drop connection despite showing a full connection? I downgraded to January patch to fix.

So kind of you and thanks, no that sounds easy so just removing the w will prevent wipe ?
So I then can move to run the batch script? Or better to move to the platform tools folder then open powershel?
Then is the command Fastboot flash name of zip?
If you can write a short tutorial I'll get it, doesn't need to be full....
Many thanks :good:

prep:
Make sure you have the latest SDK toolkit
Make sure you have a 2.0 USB in case your 3.0 USB doesn't work properly
*download Google 8.1 factory image
Verify you're connected:
Open a COMMAND PROMPT from the same platform folder on your PC where the fastboot application is located, do the following:
type- fastboot devices (should see a serial number, this means you're good)
type- flash-all (this flashes 8.1 factory image), let it do its thing... (removing the -w stops this from wiping your phone, leaving the -w in flash-all.bat, wipes entire device)
reboot system
profit!
You need to flash magisk again if you want root and need to boot twrp to flash magisk.
Cheers ?

Me either. Usually apps are the culprit.

I'm on the beta program for Play Services and the check update button just worked for me. Bell in Canada.

I just push the button and the update is HERE! Vodafone Spain!

Can confirm, all downloaded and installing now. Took some quick keyboard work at work to use fastboot and flash back entirely to stock (recovery included) while signing up for the beta. Popped up instantly.
is this the new one ? or this is still the old beta ?
Installing also, looks that this is final build with changelog

If you are rooted with Systemless SuperSu you can still download the OTA as usual then install it with the Flashfire app rather than installing from the prompt. Worked for me anyway.

All files are alive after this upgrade. In my case
So, just tried to upgrade.
After half an hour of downloading and updating, it reached the point where the phone restarted itself, but all I saw is an open-android icon with a message "Error!" :/
Simply restarted the phone and back to 6.0.1. Unfortunately.

Shield Tablet Firmware Update 5.1 Android N

I'm using RoW LTE on my US-LTE device and I just received the 5.1 update 5 minutes ago. I'm excited to see some improvements. It seems launcher 3 crashes were one of the most dominant problem of 5.0. good thing I'm always using Google now.
If someone has finished installing theirs, how's the experience so far?

I just got the update and install it on my rooted and unlocked Nvidia Shield ORIGINAL Tablet. The update downloaded and successfully installed through TWRP, that said I’m pretty sure I lost root but that's easy enough to get back.
Update: You have to reinstall custom recovery. Also my device has seemed a bit laggy, it took about 15 seconds for my virtual keyboard to pop up to make this post.

I tried that using the URL pattern from Android M but I couldn't get the right changes. Maybe others will have better luck.
Btw, for those who have installed it, the new update messed up my TWRP. Just re-flash it.
After flashing TWRP and wiping cache and dalvik, it became quite laggy. Weird. I'll let it "settle" for a while.
I guess no matter how much this device gets updated, it can never escape the occasional lags. I suspect that these are caused by Nvidia apps. I wonder why nobody has called out this phenomenon yet.
Or maybe, it's about time that Nvidia release some technical docs for the geniuses of XDA to be able to make their own mods or improvements.
I received it some hours ago on Original LTE model.
Tablet is very smooth, 98 500 on antutu in performance mode.

Is there a way to force the OTA?
I bought Mi 6 Ceramic Edition last week and it immediately got an OTA update for MIUI 9, lucky me!
And one thing to confirm, it got long exposure 32s! (this is the one feature that held my decision back and forth whether to buy Mi6 or not)

Yeah once you have the update package just select it from the top right menu of the updater app.
Took about 5 mins to flash and reboot on my phone.
All working as before no issues only improvement.
It seems to select what parts of the system to update because there's no way it flashed 1.5gb onto my phone. Must follow the same install as the OTA

Previous stable.
The release channels are completely separate.
If you're on beta I would honestly stay there. Global release doesn't necessarily indicate there will be no more beta updates and also there won't be a lot of difference for you in terms of stability.
If you do really want to change then clean install the stable ROM.

He has a VZW Pixel 3a. You can't fastboot a factory image with a locked bootloader. You can only sideload an OTA so he will need to wait in order to unenroll from the beta. Couple more days I think at the most.

I think so. I have noticed you can swipe up from a bigger portion of the screen to show the appdrawer too. Now I can swipe up from the lower row of icons, and I think that before the update I had to swipe from the icon menu.
How do you even sideload the OTA ? When I do adb reboot recovery I just get a no command screen :/
EDIT: NVM Figured that out. When I sideload the OTA, I just get a signature verification failed error. I have a Tmobile 3a
Edit 2: I am dumb. I had the full image instead of OTA. Getting the OTA worked.
So i download the latest modded version on from pnabj "PQ3B.190605.006" then install it using this method "fastboot flash boot "whatever the boot.img is named" from the root guide and thats it?

Can't wait to see what bugs they addressed.....
freaking Visible !
i enrolled the beta, on Visible simcard, it doesnt show any update.
when i put the expired tmobile simcard in, it shows there' a update.
So I'm on AT&T though Wing and previously, did not have WiFi-Calling. Updated to Beta2 via system update and now I have WiFi-Calling enabled / address registered.
I turned on airplane mode, turned WiFi back on and confirmed it worked so those of you rocking unlocked firmware with AT&T, it appears that at least for this second beta, Wifi-Calling is enabled.
Not sure why it wasn't previously. Coincidence?
I can't get rcs working again for tmobile.
Edit. Had to apply settings a couple times and leave it be for a while then reboot. Could be maintenance window activity or something else

Anyone know why I'm getting this error trying to upgrade to beta 2 from latest stable Android 10 version.
Or need to be in beta 1 in order to update to beta 2?View attachment 5129769
I didn't had similar problems when couple days ego upgrade from Android 10 version to beta 1 via adb method.

RECEIVE 0TA UPDATES (UCCD Code):
Note: B-4 starting this task, turn off
handset, remove sim-card, reboot
goto settings, about phone
press down on imei, copy(to clipboard)
goto dialer/phone keypad screen
(UCCD Code Dialer-Keypad)
272pasteyourimei
Select Network (Sprint : SPR)
Tap Install, (Next Screen)
Select Type: Sales & Network(both)
Tap OK (exit screen)
Follow S-O-P to receive OTA/Update
After Software Update Completes(msg)
Power Off, Re-Install sim-card, reboot
Your handset will recognize sim-card
notifying you of a necessary restart
(in process, sales/network codes to stock),
Just replace SPR with XAA in my example above. Make sure b-4 beginning remove sim, then after OTA update is completed, and your handset reminds you "no sim card".
Then power down re-insert your sim, power-up and your device will reboot and put your CSC codes back to stock per your sim card.
Checked Samsung Members app before forcing the update zip. It appeared. enrolled and about to download update
XAA N986U1 on TMB sim
Problem had solved by updating first to beta 1 and right away to beta 2.

I couldn't enroll last time, I was getting random errors. But I just check according to your post and I have successfully enrolled, waiting for the update/ download.

Ofcourse you need Beta 1. These updates have source and targets defined you wont be able to update unless your device meets the requirements even if you are sideloading.
Sadly 120hz is still locked in, no adaptive

I was able to download your file and rename to zip and flash in stock recovery. Didn't have to use adb this time.
Thanks for posting the link!
