Data connection randomly drops

I'm currently on the latest Energy ROM with radio 2.08. Everything is fine (minus the wifi screen out of place for some odd reason), and the data connection sometimes simply "hangs" - under connections it would say connected, and i would get calls, but no data. Marketplace, e-mails, etc. can't reach the net at all. when that happens, the only way to fix it is either reboot the phone or manually turn off and on the data connection under settings. anyone else experience this?
Nevermind, just had to give a payment.
no one else?

Losing data connection

I'm on T mobile with a dhd and my phone keeps losing the data connection.
I have to reboot to initialise it again. If I switch to wifi thats fine, but 3G data keeps dropping out. It can't be the network as the reboot seems to sort it. Sim works fine in other phones. Have you got this problem too?
I'm also getting the reboot problem and the dialer crashes too everyday preventing me from making a call. Otherwise a really good phone!
yep, I am having the same problem on my sim, wierd, I had never had this problem. It started today when i turned my data connection (mobile internet connection) on and did not turn it off, usually I turn mobile network (for internet ) on and then off after some use.
I will try to do same for 2-3 days, lets see what happens. Anybody else having same problem. any solutions ?

data network drops..

I have a strange problem on G2. Somehow sporadically data network gets disabled, phone radio stays on. The only way to get data back is toggle data enabled in settings.
What could be wrong with the device?
Thanks!
Are you rooted? If so, what ROM/Radio?
If not, have you selected to make sure your APN settings are correct? Does this happen on 3G only, or does it happen on EDGE too? Could be any number of issues.
I had this several times last week. The data connection was dropping and where it normally would have just reconnected it wasn't. I had to re-enable it in the settings. Voice and text were fine. Didn't try it over a reboot.
I put it down to the network issues, the service status page was showing data issues in my area. I guess when it tries to start a data session it gets a deny back so stops trying and disables data. Underneath I think its a PPP session a bit like dial up internet.
Not rooted.
It happens only with 3G. Never seen data dropping on 2G/Edge.

Lollipop looses data connection.

Well more specific, data throughput stops but the connection is still active, full reception etc. The only way to solve is to reboot or toggle aeroplane mode. Did not have this problem on KitKat. I have internet speed meter installed so I can see when no data is flowing.

Mobile Data and WiFi

How does the phone prioritize between Wifi and Mobile Data? Say you have both Wifi and Mobile Data turned on does the phone use Wifi if you have an active connection? Can I leave Mobile Data turned on and not worry about using up my data if connected to Wifi?
Noticed that I have no Mobile Data toggle in the quick toggle menu. Since I am on a limited Data plan I like to toggle it on and off. I did find the toggle in settings but that is annoying to get to.
I decided to try out Tasker to make a task when at these cell towers turn on Wifi and turn of Data. Turns out with Tasker you need to be root to turn off Mobile Data.
If you leave your data on, you will have battery drain and also more data tracking taking from you as well.
You don't need both on.
Any recommendations on being able to toggle Mobile Data on/off with out having to go into settings every time?
There are multiple settings you can use: Like WiFi preferred, or you can even prevent apps from using particular networks you specify, or block particular programs from network access all together. It may take some time in experimenting but there are many options to choose from.
Hello , i have similar problem, when is connected to wifi , dont disconect data, i see all trafic go to wifi, but the battery drain fast, and if i dont disconnect data manually charge is slow too!
I try many thing, reset network settings, wipe cache, include factory reset, and re flash the original firmware, but the problem persist, i was call samsung support and say, we have to repair it, but i buy the phone in usa and live in spain
Any solution for that?
Thanks in advance
It will always use WiFi if you're connected to WiFi. Battery life really shouldn't change at all since no mobile data is flowing through that connection, and even with mobile data off you're still connected to LTE, it just won't use it for data.
Go to the WiFi settings and make sure smart network switch it off, otherwise it will disconnect from weak WiFi and use data.
Yes smart network is off
Download booster off
On developer option, keep mobile data turned on is off too
I just factory reset again, with out any update or software , on the first reboot this issue happen again
Make me crazy!
Thanks in advance
Nicolas
By default your phone will use WiFi for data whenever WiFi is connected. You shouldn't have to manually disconnect mobile data.
If you want to be doubly sure, have your mobile data on and at the same time connect to a WiFi that is not connected to the internet. You will find that you will not be able to browse the internet, update any apps or do pretty much anything that requires the internet.
Yes i can manually disconnect data when is wifi connected
But is miss it, battery drain so fast

Click to collapse
I see from your pic that mobile data icon is showing at the same time as your WiFi.
Perhaps you may want to reset your network settings.
You do this by: settings > general managment > reset > reset network settings
Edit:
Never mind, i see that you've tried this already a couple of post above.
I already do , also i do wipe data and cache, factory reset, and flash original firmware , and problem persist!
