i have reached htc service centre and there they said that screen has damaged and it has to be replaced. There is no oily look at the center of the screen and i havenot used more pressure on it. I think pressure sensor under the screen has gone. Thanks for replying
No problem!
If its within warranty, then yes, get HTC to service it for you, if its out of warranty, you can choose to get whoever you want to service it for you, you can even DIY the repair (if you have the confidence)
Its out of waranty

Its dificult to get hd screen from open market in India. So i decided to get it from service centre. I want to sell it and have a diamond-2. Are you thinking daimond2 is better than hd
thanks for replying and your thread for repairing screen is excellent.
I think the HTC Desire or the HTC Touch HD2 are better then the Touch HD, I haven't heard of a Diamond2 yet.
The desire just launched in my country, its beautiful, extremely fast and pretty, but if you go with it, you're stuck with Android OS, so the main consideration is weather you'll use GPS software on your mobile, if not, then the Desire is a very good choice, if so then you'll need to have it on a data plan to utilize google maps as a gps.
thank you for your kind words nagasai
Htc diamond2 is nothing but topaz

I am a medico studying in India. There are lots of medical software for windows mobile as android is a new os it has less. So i have to be with the windows mobile. Htc desire is a very good mobile but it is with android and hd2 is very big and its difficult to carry it in my jeans pocket. SO i think htc topaz i.e., diamond2 is a better choice
Tweak to improve screen sensitivity
Tweak your registry settings to improve screen sensitivity. Because most of the custome roms are with low sensitiviry to improve it follow this link

Yeah, I tweak mine too, I use HD Tweaks, it has options for making the sensitivity good.

[Q] Bad digitizer, bad repair or something else?

I recently broke the digitizer on my T9193 (Telstra Australia) for the second time. As it's a work phone, I took it to a repair kiosk at a local shopping centre rather than attempt the repairs myself.
The first time around the repair was perfect so I went back to the same place for the second repair but I've had nothing but problems since then. I believe that both times they have changed only the digitizer/glass screen because the notes on the receipts read "Replace touch screen only", so I probably have my original LCD.
When I dropped (no pun intended) my phone in for the second repair, they said that it should take about 30 - 45 minutes. I gave them at least 45 minutes but they asked me to give them another 10 minutes, then another 10... Anyway, after almost 2 hours, I asked if there was a problem and they admitted that they were having problems getting the screen to respond consistently and that they wanted to keep working on it overnight but it might be a faulty part that they were supplied. Anyway, they called me the next morning to say that it was fixed.
When I picked it up, I checked that the screen responded and it all seemed fine, so I took it away but I noticed a few minutes later that the screen would not stay off when I pressed the End key - it would immediately come back on. I took it back and they said that they could fix it and to give them another 45 minutes. After another 45 minutes it was behaving properly so I took it and went home. On my way home, I took off the protective film from the screen and found that the digitizer had a T-mobile logo at the top, which I wasn't very happy about since it's a Telstra phone but it is now obvious that it has had at least a new digitizer.
By the time I got home, the battery was almost drained, which I assumed was because they must have been testing it a lot. However, I now find that the battery drain is much faster than before, so fast that there is no way that I can get through about 10 hours at work with a little browsing, a few calls, emails and texts without having it on the charger. Even with a hard reset and only BattLog running to see the current draw with the screen on 30%, it is drawing around 200mA but spiking much higher from time to time or if I use any other applications or use the screen. In standby the draw is around 4-5Ma, which is what it should be but whenever the screen is on it drains so fast as to be almost useless. If I use it the same way that I used to get a full work day's use out of it (with plenty to spare), I'll now get about 3-4 hours
Some other information: the auto brightness no longer works - the current draw increases when i put the sensor near a light source, so it is obviously sensing the increased light intensity and is trying to increase the brightness, but the screen always stays at 30% when set on auto brightness; manual brightness adjustment now works but didn't until I restored to an earlier backup - the adjustment bars had disappeared (although I wonder whether this was due to AEButtons, which I installed for the battery monitor [but could not find] but I also played around with the screen brightness settings in there and uninstalling AEB didn't bring the adjustment bars back); and the screen now sticks out about 1mm above the sides of the phone, not a fraction of a millimetre below.
So, firstly, how can I have a T-mobile digitizer on my original LCD (my understanding is that the T-mobile digitizer has different connectors to the digitizers on other HD2 models)? If it is a t-mobile digitizer, could this be the reason for the high battery drain, non-working auto brightness and poor fit or can I fix these issues myself? Should I go back to the repairer and demand the correct digitizer?
Sorry for the long essay. I really hope that someone can help.
Share your pain man.
...my HD2 have faulty digitizer right now, and it works only when it wants, at least i can pick-up phone calls.
Get back there and ask for replacement, Using T-mobile stock part should happened on Classic HD2 models, thats their fault, request a refund.
btw:
i actually think there are two types of Proximity and light senzors and one of them have some troubles with drivers on android, so uf you are using Droid, it cant be one of that bad type of light senzor, but im not sure. Meanwhile you can try Task 29, Reflash HSPL and reflash ROM. But if it wont help, get it back to your default OS, i know that type of people @ service store...they will see that you changed something in software and use it as their advantage..so try it, but if it wont help get back to state where it was )
Good luck )
And im so sick of theese day devices, battery life, displayes anf faultyness...i have only pain with this Golden Nokia 3310. Seriously
99% for bad repair/parts!
I suspect they messed up somehow your LCD during repairing( most probably when attempted to take apart touchscreen from LCD) and they replaced it with a faulty TMobile one (that explains excessive draining and TMobile touchscreen).
You should go back for a proper repair or some kind of refund!
I wouldn't advise you to DIY!
Good luck!
To exclude software faults, always check back to origin winmo stock rom.
In my opinion, as i did lots of research about replacing screen and digitizer, the most problems apears if only the digitizer was replaced.
Of course, the digitizer is only 20$ and the complete module (lcd+digi) is about 60$. But these 40$ seems to be a good investition...

MediaPad M3 Lite 10 (wifi) - Touchscreen issues

Last night i received my tablet (with minor scratches to back and one tiny scratch on corner).
It was a sealed package so i don't know what's going on at Huawei quality control or they get so much returns they just repackage them as new, who knows...
But that was not the main issue, the main issue is the touchscreen.
It loses contact without your finger leaving the screen and mostly reconnecting again, real fast.
Results in:
Browsing the web is a hassle because it clicks on new links as u swipe, resulting in leaving the page your watching.
Typing gives u many times double letters.
Painting drawing (if u do that) gives u broken lines.
Now they send me another tablet but i was wondering if no-one else has these issues?
Tablet installed updates.

OnePlus 6T - worse touch screen than other phones ? Maybe software problem ?

Hi all,
I'm happy new owner of OnePlus 6T for 1 day. However I noticed something that makes me frustrating. The touch in this phone works worse than in other phones. I noticed it after updating system to newest version (9.0.6 I think) but I don't know if it is related to software. I downloaded Multi Touch app and if I push on screen very weak and then normally, it won't register touch. Also, clicking very fast on screen the phone sometimes doesn't register any clicks for even more than one second ! I thought maybe I'm exaggerating, but tested Huawei P20 Lite and every single touch gets registered properly. However when the touch is registered normally, moving finger across the screen it never gets lost, which makes me think it may be just software glitch. Please tell me if I can have faulty model, or it's just something with the software. I got no answers on OnePlus forums, so I hope to get at least one here. Thanks.
I can't replicate that at all. All touches respond, and all 10 touch events. Tapping quickly, adding fingers, etc all work as intended.
That's strange. I've tried with FactoryMode handwriting ad it seems everything is just perfect... Maybe the app is bad ? One thing that still doesn't work though, is multi touch. When I press more than 2 fingers simultaneously, it won't register anything. But when I press all 10 fingers one by one, everything is perfect. Is it normal ?
No touch problem here. You might have a faulty digitizer.
Ok, it is definitely software glitch. When I enabled option to show touches in developer options, everything is recognized properly. OnePlus messed up with it, because apps can't detect more than 2 fingers simultaneously.
I found 100 % working fix for this here:
https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/multi-touch-on-the-oneplus-5.556144
The software takes over handling touchscreen events so it can take a screenshot when you swipe three fingers. If you've got that enabled then disable it and try your tests again.
Using Multitouch Tester I was able to register 10 simultaneous touches.
Edit: Yeah, as per the link in the previous post.

Redmi K20 Pro Screen Brightness and Ghost Touch malfunction after screen replacement

I recently replaced the screen on my K20 Pro and I noticed that there are a few malfunctions. Screen brightness suddenly goes max for a few seconds when using opening the phone from lock screen and usually when using fingerprint to unlock (I have my Auto-Brightness set to off). Ghost touches when tapping but none when swiping. I was wondering if this is a common malfunction after replacing the screen (calibration or something) or did the installation of the screen went wrong or is it because the LCD used to replace the original one was defective. Thanks for the insights.
i just replaced my screen four days ago and so far i got no problems of some sort..
so, i think it's probably the installation or the unit's fault. idk tho
I'm just annoyed by the sudden screen brightness max. To be honest I think the ghost touch thing is because of a defect LCD, but I think the brightness problem is from the system. It's like the phone does not recognize or remember the previously set brightness. I hope there's a solution for this. Do factory resetting the phone solve any brightness problems?
hello! did you managed to solve this problem? I have the same problem
if you removed foil and it still touch in random parts of screen,. then send it back. i had the same symptoms with a few screens that I repaired. just Chinese quality

i did the replacement with not 100% compatible display...because it was way cheaper than the display I needed...(from an oppo phone) i know it sounds weird but the display was 200 dollars( the 100% compatible from oppo) and i payed like 70 for this display that flickers the bringtness..but they told me a factory reset can solve it?
what do you think?
try, but I doubt it. looks like fauly/not compatible to me.
try flashing latest miui to make sure you did everything to get it to work, if that doesn't make it better just don't waste your time. if you have more technical data on both anoled and lcd with connections described (every pin) then you could make research a d bypass if needed. otherwise send it back
