HELP... Windows not show MTP device(Windows Drivers is OK) - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a problem with the MTP connection of my Moto X. I have installed Lineage OS 14 and have a few weeks that MTP does not want to work on the proprietary profile.
When I'm on TWRP and some secondary profile, Windows usually recognizes the device. What can it be? Any idea?

[Q] Nexus 7, why in Vista and not in Win7

I have an issue with one of my Windows OS (both 64 bit).
Under Vista Home Premium N7 does not show a problem.
In Device Manager which shows "Android phone" N7 is shown in MTP and Camera.
In ADB as well in Fastboot N7 is recognized under MTP and Camera.
Under Win 7 Professional I have an issue.
In Device Manager which shows "Android composite ADB interface" under Samsung Android phone, the Laptop does not see the N7 under MTP.
When I switch to Camera the computer recognizes N7.
In Fastboot mode as well in ADB N7 appears in Camera.
In MTP mode ADB devices does not show N7 while in Fastboot the N7 appears.
Debugging or not does not change anything.
In short the N7 in Win 7 is not recognized under MTP and it is showing under Camera.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
PS: I favor a manual solution over the use of a ToolKit.
You may be using a N or KN version of Windows 7. N versions of Windows do not contain Media Player or Media Foundation, the latter being required for MTP features.
Media Feature Pack for Windows 7 N with Service Pack 1 and Windows 7 KN with Service Pack 1 may help you out.
If your not using a N version of Windows 7, then there may be another issue.
My version of Win7 is 6.1 with SP1.
Media Player version is 12.
Is it good or bad for my issue?
Thanks for your prompt Post
Hmm, if you have WMP installed, MTP should work, or at least I can't think of a reason for it not to work :/
I solved my problem.
I connected my N7 to my wife Win7 laptop. It was recognized as a portable device, in MTP mode. With a yellow !where the Android ADB is supposed to be.
The event viewer in the Device Manager of my laptop registered several errors including the Android ADB interface.
A restore point before the date of the installation of this interface solved the issue.
N7 is recognized in MTP and in Camera modes.
Et voila

OPT not getting detected by computer

When I connect to pc I see the icon in "my computer" to install oneplus driver. Even after I install the driver not seeing drive icon to access the opt files

Did you restart the computer after you installed the drivers? Also make sure phone is in MTP mode.

I'm having this problem too. Even before I unlocked my phone I was constantly getting this problem. Phone is now unlocked and rooted
Phone is in MTP mode all the time. A2003 occasionally shows up but it says "This folder is empty"
The only way to make it show up is to boot into TWRP recovery and >Advanced >Fix Permissions>Reboot device. Even that doesn't work at times
If you fix permissions and do not reboot computer, Windows can't even open Explorer properly for some reason
Reinstalled the driver tons of times but not working.
I'm having similar problems too!
I installed the oneplus two drivers that shows up when ur phone is connected to pc and also the adb interface drivers, updated it as well.
restarted my pc and oneplus two.
now when I connect the phone to PC it shows up in my computer but when I click to open the folders int he devices it's empty ???
any thoughts or suggestions ??
EDIT: First Do this, Install Windows Media Player.

I had this issue, installing windows media player resolved for me. Weird right?
Are you guys on windows 8.1 N? Windows 8.1N has disabled MTP access or it doesn't recognize MTP devices because it needs Windows Media Player.
-or-
Try installing Samsung USB drivers.

Win 10 x64 - Motorola Device Manager failed to install the correct USB driver

So i finally got around to setting up my laptop anew, and i ran into a little snag. I've installed the Motorola device manager 2.5.4.
My XT1562 is not correctly installed as such when connected... (yes, in PTP mode, adb enabled too)
The phone knows it is connected by USB and charges, it works fine on other PCs
Reinstalled Device Manager, nope
Trying different USB port didn't help
Tried different USB cable for the heck of it
Device Manager shows Android Device "Motorola ADB interface" and one unknown "MTP".
Device shows:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.
Using the auto update for drivers doesn't work. Manually Specifying the folder for the Motorola Device Manager doesn't work, i checked, there are no drivers lying around in there...
To manually specify the driver i would have to know exactly which device that thing is supposed to be. Hm actually let me check that on the other PC brb
EDIT:
Well, ive never even installed the motorola device manager on the pc (win7 x64) and it just works. Does have the ADB device as unknown in Device Manager.
If you are using Windows 10 or win 8.1 follow this guide to disable driver signature enforcement
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71YAIw7_-kg
For abd drivers
http://adbdriver.com/downloads/
Then reinstall Moto device manager
I've had them installed with signatures before (It was Win10 x64 before too) no problem. Did they mess that up? Thanks ill try it
EDIT
Didn't work. Rebooted with sigs off, reinstalled 2.5.4, no difference
EDIT2: There was no driver signature warning either
Riiight, after some tinkering (including a driver backup from w7 and restore to w10 solution) i figured out the actual problem. I've installed Windows 10 N, and the optional media pack is required for these drivers to work. Go figure.

Windows 10 File Explorer doesn't find my phone

Hey XDA, pretty much like the title says. This is the first time I have this issue, before it was always plug it in and press the transfer files option and autoplay would pop up. Now Windows informs me that “Android is ready for use” but there is no way to find the device in File Explorer.
I hooked up my A1 to my laptop which did work properly so the problem is definitely on this PC’s end. I’m running latest version of Windows 10 Pro N 64. So far I’ve tried changing cables, different USB ports, rebooted both my PC and Phone. I also installed ADB Setup 1.4.3. The phone charges fine.
In device manager under Other Devices it says MTP with an exclamation sign, I’m unable to find drivers for this thing through auto search. There’s also ADB Interface under USB Devices which has up to date drivers.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Exactly the same here, under windows 10, MTP device not supported in the windows devices panel, i'm running ressurection remix rom....
When I first got my A1 I used Helium to restore my apps, I found it would only connect if I selected MIDI in the phones drop down.
This happens. Just use update driver and manually select the MTP driver from the list.
go to your notifications, tap the usb option and select transfer files. works great for me.

[solved]disableflagsecure mtp windows 10 battery replacement

MTP, nor my MXPE is not recognized by my pc, I am not sure the last time I tried mtp, been long time, could be windows 10, MXPE battery replacement, I dont know, I tried moto driver reinstall, my device manager in windows doesnt even pick up the phone, my phone does not pop up with a notification phone has been connected to the pc.
I tried updated moto and google sdk drivers. I am at a lost.
there was a March update of Windows 10 that crashed or killed MTP.
Update:
So I tested filemanager with twrp, and my pc detects the internal and sd cards.
So, any idea?
I figured out disableflagsecure module for xposed was preventing usb debugging and mtp notifications to pop up.
