I found a way to do this.
1) First you need to get your operators mcc code with this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sevenza.cellid
2) Then go to /data/property/persist.radio.previousopcode0 and copy this code somewhere.
3) Depending on your Cust (mine is EU), go to /cust/hw/eu/xml/hw_defaults.xml and search for hw_2g_only_cust_display and add the code from number 2 with a ; sign.
4) Then search for hw_add_4g_only and add the code from number 1 with a ; sign.
5) Save the file and reboot.

That's working!
BUT...I've one or two bugs and I need to fix them. Can you help me?

So much things are not compatible with Italy and my phone company (and I can't activate it). How i can do to fix this two bugs?

You have a rom problem. Reinstall you official firmware and do a factory reset with stock recovery. I can see that u use a KangVip rom so you have to report to the ROM developer.

Got scammed on CL, got a SM-900H instead of the 900T

the title says it all, i got scammed. so i met up with this guy today, popped my t-mobile sim in there and it has LTE data, at least that's what it says on the top, and data was working. even when i restarted the phone, it has the t-mobile animations and all, so i thought all was ok. but then i reset the phone, then it says invalid imei, no imei # under settings either, and data isn't working, but i could still make calls and receive texts. now i'm stuck with a phone that works only as a phone, and no data whatsoever.
so i've tried calling and texting the guy many times, but with no avail, and i have no other phone to use. so how do i go about from here on fixing the invalid imei thing and getting data to work again? any inputs much appreciated.
edit:
here's the phone info under about devices:
baseband -G900SKSU1ANCD
build number: KOT49H.G900SKSU1AND3
SELinux status: Enforcing
kernel version: 3.4.5 [email protected] #1
android version: 4.4.2
edit #2:
after a little bit of digging, i see that SuperSU is installed, so i think that means my phone is rooted. the sticker clearly says mine is the 900H, but user gee2012 says i have the 900S, so i'm really confused on what model i have and what rom to flash to make this work for t-mobile USA.

so the sticker below the battery says it's a 900H, but the firmware info says i have the 900S, so i'm pretty confused on how to proceed right now. btw, i think my phone is rooted, i see superSU on the apps drawer.
also, as i've mentioned on the original post, the 4G lte data was working fine before i did the reset, but i thought the reset wouldn't restore my phone to default firmware and the data should still work, no? so i'm confused on why the data is not working and the imei # is not there.

i don't have the xda app installed right now, but here's the info below:
SOC:
model - qualcomm MSM 8974 (flattened device tree)
CPU architecture - krait 400
Cores - 4
revision - r2p1
process - 28nm
clock speed - 598 Mhz - 2.46 Ghz
GPU vendor - Qualcomm
GPU renderer - Adreno (TM) 330
SYSTEM:
model - SM-G900S (klteskt)
so it looks as though this IS the 900S, so does that mean the LTE should work on my phone? if so, how do i go about to get it working again? once again, i greatly appreciate your help.

Look on the internet what LTE bands the Korean G900S supports and what band your provider uses. 2G/3G should be usable anyway i guess. As Samsung implemented the regional lock you may want to contact Samsung for advice/support for your device. Are you able to call and be called?

Check the apn data in settings/more networks/ access points. Maybe you have to add your provider and the correct settings for data.

The APN settings thing didn't work for me. It's showing that I don't have an imei #, so maybe I need to take care of that first?
If you don't have imei number how do you use your phone for calling?

It think it is a real Samsung S5 but meant for Korea, don`t know for sure if you can flash a rom with western languages on it. Use Google to find more info.
Look for the imei behind the battery, not the one the phone tell you.
You probably have a hdc clone of the Samsung S5.
Try running this app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo
If it's running a custom rom the info shown might not be as standard with different bootloader and rom installed.
This will show rom description and build data etc so you can see what's really running. Then Google or xda search for that rom.
Here's mine.....
Also gives imei if it's there.
Sent from my Galaxy S5 running NeatRom 0X1

Sorry I have no idea on LTE.
CSC (Consumer Software Customization, aka Sales Code, or Region Code) is just a customization for different region/country/territory.
Regarding the code *#272*imei# to change the CSC, AFAIK that code does not exist anymore on new Samsung models.
You can check to make sure if it exists or not, by using Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Secret Codes', scroll down and check if the code "272*..." does exist?
yes im not sure if you can help, but according to everywhere i look i have all the LTE bands for AT&T, but i never get anything but HSPA +. IS it possible the CSC controls which LTE bands to use based off of country?

[Q]SHV-E330L( ks01ltelgt) cannot toggle 4G/3G/2G automatically?

I have a device : Galaxy S4 LTE-A LG (SHV-E330L, ks01ltelgt).
The Problem is:
This device does support the 4G of my carrier, but it cannot toggle to 4G automatically in my carrier's network.
I can only select 4G (LTE B3) manually in engineering menu (dial 319712358, password 0821), as you can see in image1.
And in this manually selected mode, I'm not able to call or to receive calls.
image1:
Selecting either "Automatic" or " LTE ALL" does not make any difference.
"Automatic" - always 3G (image2)
"LTE ALL" - no signal (image3)
image2:
image3:
My question is:
is there any method or ROM or modification which can make this device toggle 4G/3G/2G network automatically?
Thanks very much~!!

1. Dial *#1234# and tell me what appears there or attach one screenshot.
2. Verify that you have the latest firmware on your device. Download, unzip and flash this file via ODIN if not: HERE.
3. Go to Settings/Connections/More Networks/Mobile Networks/Access Point Names and add your APN carrier there.

2. I've checked that my CP firmware is the latest version while the other two are not. It takes time to update because I have lots of apps installed and it needs time to backup and restore.....
And I think the problem is on CP not the rest two..... if there is no other way, I will try to update the firmware.
3. I think the APN has no problem because if I choose LTE B3, the phone can access 4G network without any problem.

You have an app "Samsung Retailmode" in your appdrawer?
So open Configuratin Settings in this app, than you have to enter Admin Passwort! Enter 1. Password : 5444
After this disable the factory...... here you need second password! 2. Password : M729Q16K8546
After this check reset and reboot! Hope that helps!?

I know only the method with Unlock from RetailMode App!
Maybe it works when you flash Retail Firmware/ Install Retail Mode app and try it with the passwords above?
You can download retail mode app from playstore!
if you have a live demo unit you'll never can get it work, so there's no hardware (modem) inside

As you can see in the screenshot, there is no info about Modem Board, so I doubt it does not have modem hardware (?).
Can you show me all screenshots from that app? (you can use S Pen to capture screenshot easily).
And also can you show a picture of the back sticker (behind the battery).
Thanks.
Nothing ?
Same thing happened to me too,but before that I had a fully functionaly phone. After I flashed many custom roms ended in bootloop and only a stock rom NEE 5.0.1 works, all other stock rom I flash ends in bootloop. And baseband unknown, imei null,no modem.
I think from Note 3 onwards, samsung has choosen to make separate hardware for its demo devices. In some specific models even the AMOLED panel also is unique and can't be used with other devices. I am currently working with samsung. Earlier we were using these demo devices for personal use and for spare parts. Right now it's good for nothing other than playing games and surfing Internet.

I just got SM-G9500 (bought in Taiwan), and internet is not working, I believe have tried everything in the settings. Phone unlocked, LTE sign next to carrier on top is there, everything else is ok, except data network. SIM on other phone (S7) works fine. Yep, me located in Europe (Vodafone HU).
Is it possible to get 3G/4G with this phone with my operator? If yes, can one point me to the direction how to achieve this?
Baseband G9500SQU1AQC9, Kernel 3.18.30-10318693, Build version SEPF_SM_G9500_5.0.2_0008
Please help!
Nandi
Do you mean G950F? ie a S8. if so just go here https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s8/SM-G950F/ (you can find S8+ too if that's what you meant), download the right files for your country & mobile operator, and flash via ODIN

No, I meant G9500, like as here, for example: http://www.samsung.com/hk_en/support/model/SM-G9500ZDDTGY or here https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s8/SM-G9500/

Well, I just posted a link where you can see that there are only two countries listed ... or differences in S8 models (and processor) does not matter, so I can take any S8 file? ... I am aware of this principle, but dont see anybody did it in similar case as mine (or with G9500).
Still waiting for opinion/ideas...

Yeah it will make a difference, that phone is only for far-east markets, hence the firmware, you can try the Hong Kong version, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Far east models run very different frequencies on their modem I believe, could be wrong though
you don't need to flash anything.
you have a Galaxy S8 (SM-G9500)
your phone "speaks" all known wireless frequencies (from the factory) & it can be used anywhere in the world.
The LTE icon just means your phone is registered on the LTE network.
It doesn't (yet) mean you have internet access.
you're 1/2 way there.
at least your LTE works.
You need to contact Vodafone HU helpdesk & ask them to give you the "Access Point" details for their network.
** Normally network providers send you these details in a text message - the first time the phone connects to their network - but maybe you didn't accept the settings / deleted the text message?
Once you have the settings:
Go to: Settings / Connections / Mobile Networks / Access Point Names <--- select "ADD" & then enter the details provided by Vodafone HU & save the access point details.
Your internet access will work after a couple of seconds.
From hungary too
Hy, I'm hungarian too,and i'm just writing in english because of forum. I bought also an SM-G9500,and i still didn't get Oreo. Or any softwer updates since january. If you want, search me on facebook, Gyarmati János István.
Just wait. My SM-G9500 received the Oreo update today.

Try flashing with Odin 3.13.1
Apparently some older versions of Odin generate a SH256 (encryption??) error
