How to install Google Apps custom ?

Hi, I have this ROM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQvrEH74dgI, my question is how to install the google apps (2nd link). Thanks.
Boot into recovery (power on holding the Power and Volume Down button) and in the recovery screen, select "install zip from sd".
Select internal or external storage/sd and browse to the file, select it with the power button. It'll do its thing and after, I would clean the dalvik cache and reboot.
I assume you've got a custom recovery already installed, since you've got the custom rom already installed.
I did this
Before proceeding, please keep in mind that your handset will be wiped clean of all data so make a backup of your data. Also, the steps below require your handset to be rooted with a custom recovery installed. If your handset is not rooted, I’d recommend you not to flash this ROM since its not meant for amateurs.
Step 1: Download CM9 Alpha 4 for Epic 4G from here or here. Also download the supplementary Google Apps package from here.
Step 2: Boot into CWM Recovery, and select the ‘Wipe data/Factory Reset’ option. Then navigate to Mounts and Storage and select the ‘format /system’ option.
Step 3: After you have formatted all the partitions on your Epic 4G, select the ‘install zip from SD card’ option, and then select the CM9 Alpha 4 zip file. Once the CM9 file has been flashed, again select the ‘install zip from SD card’ option, and this time select the Google Apps zip file package.
When the flashing process is complete, simply reboot your phone and wait for it to boot into CM9. Keep in mind that the first boot might take sometime, so please be patient.
Do NOT restore your app data backup. Doing so can lead to instabilities, and other issues. Also, please don't complain about feature X or Y not working. The ROM is in Alpha for a particular reason.

Help to install ics on my phone

i have one mytouch 4g with s-off and android 2.2.1 with root and CWM recovery.
i want to install ICS on this but not sure how to proceed as i am really confused by reading all threads . so DEVs kindly help me to install ICS step by step.
thanks
Put a ICS rom onto your sd card. Then flash it.
Broken down version:
1) download an ICS ROM zip file (I recommend SteppNasty Aospx - link in the 'resource bible')
2) put that zip file (don't extract) on the root of your sd card (i.e. not in any folders)
3) reboot your phone into recovery (either adb reboot recovery or power off > battery pull > battery insert > hold volume down button + power > select 'recovery', press power button
4) using CWM recovery, do a factory reset/wipe data, then I think under advanced select 'wipe cache' and 'wipe dalvik' (I don't have CWM anymore). If you like, you can also wipe battery stats, but I'm not sure it does anything.
5) select 'install from zip', and choose your ROM zip file
6) either flash a gapps (google apps) zip file if the ROM thread says it needs it, or reboot if it already includes google apps (most don't). Sometimes (like I think with Stepp Aospx), its actually better to reboot after flashing the rom, then go back to recovery and wipe dalvik & cache and flash gapps after getting through an initial boot. Most rom threads will have a link to the gapps they recommend for their rom. You just need one that matches the android version (i.e ICS gapps for ICS roms)
That's the usual method. Most ROM threads will have instructions on them. Seems like a lot of steps, but it usually only takes a couple of minutes.

[Guide][Steps][KITKAT] Installing cyanogenmod 11 M7 on Samsung Galaxy S2 (i9100)

Well, I know there are lot of helpful guides out there on how to install cyanogenmod but not everybody gets what he's looking for. I recently searched a lot of sites, forums, and lot of xda posts for installing cyanogenmod 11 M7. And i finally found few posts that helped me.
With these posts one can get an idea about how to flash a kernel, how to back up the data, and how to flash a custom ROM on a S2. Pretty helpful...isn't it? All thanks to these guys - @avirk , @-Grift- @banjara @Vivek_Neel @Phil3759 .
The steps might fit correct for some.. where there might be some variations for others. I myself didn't find some steps from the guide i followed while backing up my data. But still.. i went for it. And it was good enuf.
So here are the steps that i followed... n i think which might help some one like me out there.
First of all. as they say.. If anything goes wrong. I'm not responsible. If everything goes right.. well..Thank you then.

Where are /format system and /format preload??? If you are on 4.1.2 stock you need to do a full wipe.
Flash latest philz kernel in stock recovery, then reboot into recovery again(hold 3 buttons) and flash latest Philz CWM Touch recovery(6.0.4.8!). Then do a full wipe and flash a custom rom and gapps.

I Agree with Zile.
I installed Cyano with similar steps and I finished with an useless phone with system partition full.
format system and preload are mandatory moving from stock to cyano in my opinion.

What happened with me was.. i didn't find the preload thing while making my backup.
So i missed some steps from the guide which i followed. I'll be trying it again when cm11 m8 will be out.
May be that time i can find the preload section.

You can link your above post for the link to the GApps section in the OP, then you'll not get other questions as to the link for GApps.... Also, as said by @Zile995, it is better if you include formatting system and preload too in your guide as not doing so may cause issues and doing so is the best way to full wipe your system for fresh flashing without issues...
And yes...Great work.... :good:
hi
i did every step of your procedures (more times) and the result is the same!!
when the phone starts all the google processes crash and it is impossible to do anything...
If I install the Cyano 10.1 everything is fine...
What can I do????
Any tried this on SHW-M250K model? Is it even compatible?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Can I boot into system after installing 03.06.2013 - PhilZ-cwm6 v5.06.1 and later install new rom?
Would any of you guys be able to help me (a rookie when it comes to this) with these Q's in my thread about CyanogenMod?
This thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/stock-rom-to-cyanogenmod-import-sms-t2903491
Btw, isn't it easiest to acquire CyanogenMod by using the CyanogenMod Installler for the i9100?

Never had this problem bud. I installed M9 in the same way but google process failures were never encountered.
I'm afraid i might not be of any use here but would suggest one thing that stick to 10.1 till u find an answer to this.
And regarding your problem..... These guys( @avirk , @banjara , @-Grift- , @Vivek_Neel , @Phil3759 ) might be able to help you out. They helped me too.

I guess it should be ok to boot into the system because you'd be installing the recovery and if the recovery is compatible with the ROM and won't give any problem then you can. But still.. always take a second opinion before you try because... even I'm a learner.

Not Registered on network

So i got the Not Registered on network problem on my GT-I9301I. I tried to use this guide(It's a guide for S3)(i can't post links yet):
XXUGMK6 Modem.zip (Click here)
XXUGMK6 Kernel.zip (Click here)
Download and copy the files in Phone’s internal storage. The files must be in .zip format.
Pr-requisites:
As usual, creating backup is the first priority:
Create backup of apps, music and other stuff.
Create backup of your text messages and contacts.
Enable USB debugging in Settings under the Developer Options.
Your device should be rooted and should have ClockworkMod (CWM) installed in it. (Click here, ignore the title. works with all Android versions.)
And lastly, check your battery, it should be almost 70% charged.
Steps to solve “not registered on network” issue on Galaxy S3 I9300:
Turn the device off and reboot in recovery mode. Press and hold volume up+power+menu button until device enters in recovery mode.
1)When in recovery mode, go straight to “install zip from sdcard” and select” chose zip from sdcard. Select XXUGMK6 Kernel.zip and confirm the installation. wait until installation completes.
2)Similarly, again go to ” select zip from sdcard” and chose XXUGMK6 Modem.zip already copied in internal storage and proceed with “Yes” to install it.
After both above patches have been installed, reboot the device in normal mode. As soon as device reboots, it will get registered to network and IMEI number will be restored. You are now good to go for making calls and sending text messages. If you have any queries, feel free to comment below, we will solve the issues.
When i got to these steps:
1)When in recovery mode, go straight to “install zip from sdcard” and select” chose zip from sdcard. Select XXUGMK6 Kernel.zip and confirm the installation. wait until installation completes.
2)Similarly, again go to ” select zip from sdcard” and chose XXUGMK6 Modem.zip already copied in internal storage and proceed with “Yes” to install it.
I got the status 7 error and I don't know what to do now.If anyone can help me i would be grateful.
