Hi, I wanted to change charging sound of stock rom, cuz its so annoying, and i cant turn it off. So I wanted to change it, but ZTE is so cocky, that I m not able to find charging sounds in system/media/sounds/ui. I was able to change lock, unlock, touch and keyboard sounds, but charging ones are no wherw to be found. Does anyone know where is the file of charging sound in stock rom? (i wasnt able to find it in LineageOS as well, but on Xiaomi Redmi Note 4)

They're not in media but under system/priv-app/SystemUI_ZTE/
Look into the apk under res/raw/
There you have your charging.ogg

Ok, I copied systemui.apk from the location that you told me, then i replaced that charing.ogg. But now, when I copied it back (even from TWRP, or es file explorer), it feels like system dont see SystemUI.apk. The screen is totally black, and on first reboot I didnt have status bar. I fixed permissions, cleared chaches, and still nothing. Even if I copy back the original systemui.apk, its still the same. Im rocking your port of mifavor 5.0, do you know the solution how to properly install modified systemui.apk?

Most likely a signing problem or possible a clean flash needed.... (that is if you changed permissions right and so on....i cannot judge from here )
But as only res has to be modified i'd see no problem..
If you send me the ogg files you want to replace in the apk, i'll look into that and do a test myself.

Glad it worked ! Needed more then a bit of permissions
These chinese ones are more stubborn as other roms. Therefore i deodexed the SystemUI_ZTE.apk
ONLY WORKING ON V2.0.0B13 (SL!M) Mifavor5.0
Here is the deodexed file : https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850495598
Just extract it and replace existing in system/priv-app/SystemUI_ZTE/ and change to 644
And you'll have another "charging" tone

This may be posted elsewhere...if so, sorry. I replaced the 2 qmg files in /system/media with the attached files. The attached files are the stock i9000 boot animations. I got them from a captivate thread.
So far they seem to work fine, but you should make a backup just in case.

Guess you have to be rooted, right?
rooted here, not working
What is the best way to copy files over? Could you give more of a noob tutorial on how to do this lol
works great! no more stupid pink crap! I a sooo excited!
The way I did it is as follows. I used root manager to copy the original qmg files to a safe place. I then mounted the phone to my computer copied the new qmgs to the sd card unmounted and used root manager again to put them in the correct place (system/media).
make sure that you extract the two files from the zip. other than that, I did it just like the above posts.
Works perfectly Thanks!!! Any idea where the sound file is? I'd like to replace that with something less "happy"

this is covered in the sticky and here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731059
For some reason I am not able to copy the files with root explorer. Do I need to move the files with terminal? I've copied/move them over..but they do not appear. I have root access btw.
Working on a rooted Vibrant here. Ended up using Root Explorer to get it to work.
Now, is there a way to get rid of the pink shutdown animation?

Go into /system/media and remove bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg ... or replace them with the i9000 files from the ZIP in the post that started this thread.
Thank you!
I copied the files over with root explorer, and everything works fine, except for when the new animation plays, it's very choppy/pixelated. Anyone else?
Hello, does anyone know where to find MIUI Multilingual's bootanimation and bootaudio, and the .xml file so i can edit them?
In system/media there is bootanimation.zip and bootaudio.mp3. If you want to edit the bootanimation look at desc.txt.
Thank you, however it seems that my phone still uses the IDEOS logo as bootanimation, and that one is located in "pink-screen" mode, is it okay to delete it?
You mean the splashscreen? I believe that is located in the kernel, and not easy to edit.

Well, when i boot, it doesn't use the MIUI bootanimation, it still uses stock Ideos animation, and i think that one is located in pinkscreen-mode.
Try placing the bootanimation.zip in /data/local on your phone with root explorer. Then reboot, it should work

Hmm, it didn't work, and i even tried replacing the bootanimation.zip in cust/Dialect/SE/media (which is where i go when i go into pinkscreen-mode) with the MIUI one, still nothing.
Sorry, I see no reason why it won't work.. You can try to delete the whole cust folder (in pink screen), it that don't work preform a full wipe.
What ROM version are you talking about? If latest, then you should pay more attention to rom changelog. retart said there, that he turned off bootanimation for faster boot.
Sent from my "Desire HD" using XDA App
be careful messing with these files

Thank you!
I found the debug.hw.bootanimation set to 1, changed it to 0, and BAM!
Bootanimation+ audio.
My only concern now is the splashscreen and that the bootaudio is loud/bad quality

If your phone is rooted and your in a custom rom then do this , but if your on stock rom , try to install samsunghub. apk and use the search button to look for the app
1. extract libgnustl_shared.so from system>lib of your rom's zip.
2. Copy and paste to System>>lib and change permission to rw-r--r--
3. Reboot and enjoy!

There is a way to correct this problem? Unfortunatelly I haven't done a backup before flashing the mod
I hope someone can help me, I've also thinked to reuse the flashed zip inserting in it the correct nfc.apk, could it work?

Well what is the mod? if it's just an apk it's easily fixable, if it's a framework mod you might have to reinstall your firmware.

Upon observation it does seem like a simple apk located in System/app. Just replace it with a current one for your device. I would give you mine but I'm on aosp. I'm assuming you're on stock, right?

Well you either ask it from somebody, get it from an unpacked .tot or .kdz file (stock factory images), or renistall your firmware. Hard-reset won't work, as this wipes /data/, but not /system/, where the apk is located, therefore it won't be replaced with a factory one as far as I know.

The zips from the nexus threads contain a nfc.apk
can I open a new thread on the forum to ask if someone can send me this apk?
There's some rule on the forum about this?
I've now a KDZ file, but I'm trying to extract the content using "LG firmware extract" but the content is only this:
D80220b00.dz
LGUP8974.dll
I've tried to extract also the dz file, but the process seems to remain blocked...
Any suggestion?
EDIT: Solved, I've just deleted the Nfc.apk actually in /system/app and now everything is ok
Hi all...
as I'm writing this, my MPM1 is on Stock ROM v334, rooted.
I notice that since few previous fw version at least, or maybe even since the first time the first MPM1 was out for sale, the sounds of the screen being locked and unlocked are still the same.
Is there a way to change them?
I mean it's not available now, and I know that this might be not easy either,..but since there are many experts on this xda forum, I wish that perhaps somebody could make a way/mod to do that?
That's all.
Apologize for my question that maybe is too noob.
Thank you verymuch.
I dont know exactly how to change the lock sounds but there is/should-be a way.
As your device stock-rooted, you can install Gravity box, so you can get wide range of customizations.

GravityBox requires xposed! ?
---------- Post added at 04:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:13 AM ----------
For the OP -
There are magisk modules like 1. Twilight core, Pixel 2 audio and boot animation.
which can help you such kinda stuff systemlessly, so less of a hassle and more options to choose from.
Another way is -
Using any root enabled file explorer, all you have to do is go to /system/media/audio/ui
Copy the whole folder as a backup first and then specifically for your lock sound; either you can add lock.ogg & unlock.ogg
or replace them with any sound that you want
in the same .ogg format.
For lock and unlock.
Also first try copying into that by adding rather than replacing and see if you can change those sounds after a reboot.
Of it that doesn't work, then replace those files and reboot.
Similarly you can also add various other sounds in system/media/audio as per your needs for custom notifications, alarms etc.
Edit - the 2nd way would modify /system partition which might trip safetynet.

1. Do you mean "MidnightCore - twilight edition" module on magisk?
I tried to install that from magisk, but after install, reboot, nothing. Should be a new app icon on the homescreen, right?
But nothing. no icon. no nothing. Only on magisk it said that it has been installed, but nothing... seems like I did nothing.
So I uninstall the module from Magisk.
2. Then I tried the other method.
Using Root explorer I copy paste two .ogg sound files (renamed as lock.ogg and unlock.ogg) into that said folder after I renamed the original files. Then I changed the new files permissions into r-w-r-r (like the original files permission set). Then I rebooted the phone. Nothing hapenned. No Lock nor Unlock sound as I intended to. Infact I accidentally deleted and lost my two original files (the Asus' original lock.ogg and unlock.ogg files)...Would you send me that 2 original files please? I'll be really appreciate it.
Well I'd like to change them but if I failed, I prefer them than to have no sounds like now
3. Last try, I installed the XposedInstaller 3.1.5 apk in intention to try Gravity Box app module like Jaheen said above.
But then when I tried to install the Xposed framework, it said waiting for download...forever....so I lose my patient then I uninstalled the Xposed too.
Full of failed me this time

1. You have to use terminal commands.
Go to their support thread.
Link - https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-midnightcore-one-midnight-modules-t3762758
Download terminal app from playstore.
2. So umm.. I don't know why the new sounds don't work. Were they already in .ogg format?
I haven't done anything like changing the UI sounds so not sure, just added some sounds in ringtone and stuff. Sorry?. But mostly it's the same process.
3. You aren't able to download xposed framework from magisk??
Anyways don't bother because gravitybox can't change the lockscreen sounds.

2. already ogg. I convert it from mp3 to ogg on online convert service by audio.online-convert.com probably their convert method is not good for task like this (?) I don't know. Will try it again more carefully with my pc and more proper convert software later when I'm home and see what the result will become.
3. okay I don't really have a good feeling using xposed either. it's good if I can avoid it.
anyway thank you for the replies and files. the 2 original sounds work again as usual now with files from you.
will report back here later.
