hey there i have a lil problem with my Galaxy Y duos on xduos v3 rom and have not see an solution for this, thats why i open this thread and because i cant post in devforum until 10.
My problem is that after every reboot my phone.apk becomes a forceclose, but all is fine so far,i have installed different phone apks even dialer, have complete new flashed with odin and the rom new flashed,3 times!
its not a big fault, because all is running good, but i need to know whats wrong and how can i solve this.
thanx in advance.
have you tried different firmwares before you flashed the rom?maybe its a firmware fault.
Reinstall phone.apk using system app installer or just copy it to system/app/phone.apk
And set premissions as rw-r-r
Same happened with me too
overwrite the phone.apk & dialertabactivity.apk on your rom from the other one, if not working, wipe dalvik cache

You can extract phone.apk from any custom rom supported by your phone. Then copy the file to the directory:-/system/app/ Using root explorer(Preferably). Then if the explorer asks to replace an existing file then click continue. You should mount the file system as writable. This means you are on the right track. Now after pasting this file you should reboot your device. This should work.(This works for me).You can also do this using ES-File Explorer.
After removing some bloatwares in 4.4.2,some users face auto rotation problem. It is because you remove Samsung Hub. Titanium backup removes lib files for unintalling apk.
Solution :
1. extract libgnustl_shared.so from the attachment zip.
2. Copy and paste to System>>lib and change permission to rw-r--r--
3. Reboot and enjoy!
Sorry for bad english.
Strange because I had the issue since moving to official Kitkat. After some research, I found and did what that post says :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50099965&postcount=9
It fixed the issue, but every few days, screen rotation is not functionning. A simple reboot seem to do the trick, but I don't feel like it's normal.
Any further idea ?
Thanks for the information, my rotation is working again. It happened after I removed some system apps, but all is well after restoring the library file.
Can someone please upload the file to this thread please and tell me where I can find the system file?
Removed Samsung hub via Titanium backup and now my Auto Rotate doesn't work.
PLEASE!!!
Thanks
Download the ScreenRotation.zip from the link in the 2nd comment, extract the library file and copy it to /system/lib with permission 644 (EDIT: rw-r--r--).

I would think it should be fine to remove the app using something like Root Explorer.
Worked
Worked fine on S4 I9505 4.2.2.
this never happened on 4.3 neither 4.2
this seems to be some update in Hubs then i assume
But it fixed the issue.
The flashable zip didn't work.
So I put it there manually.
Strange though because I've always deleted samsung hub and auto rotation has been working.

Hello, I have just wasted about a day of my time on this issue.
Problem:
When I root my S4, running Kitkat, or load custom Kitkat ROM - wanamlite in my case, then the auto rotate screen feature stops working.
The problem is not in the HW - the camera app, which rotates labels on the screen based on orientation - kept working through all the trouble.
Details:
- I decided to root my S4, mainly to be able to install xposed/xprivacy and Titanium Backup
- first, I rooted the stock ROM, using the chainfire method. Worked fine
- I did not install custom recovery at this point
- removed few modules in TB
- noticed that the screen auto rotate stopped working
- restored the removed modules in TB, auto rotate still not working
- installed TWRP and Wanamlite. Screen rotation first worked, but after some time ( and my guess is after few reboots ), screen auto rotate failed again.
I was unable to fix this, so I had to go back to stock ROM ( Swiss FNB9 ), to get the phone working again.
Searching on Google, it seems that few of the Samsung devices have this problem of screen auto-rotation not working after rooting....
Before I try rooting again, is this a known problem ? Any fix with a high degree of reliability ?
Thanks for any info, Paul.

Wow, very much appreciated! This worked perfectly for my S4 with KitKat.
Today I noticed my auto screen rotation stopped. I googled around, tried many work-arounds, but none of them helped. A hard reset didn't work, a soft reset didn't work, Bluetooth/GPS/WiFi off didn't help, calibration using an app didn't work, etc.
I rooted my phone (as I had before, but because of the hard reset I had to root it again), installed Root Explorer, and put the libgnustl_shared.so file in the System/lib folder (while mounted R/W). I rebooted and BAM! Auto screen rotation was back again!

That fixed it indeed !! Thanks man ! I had problems pasting the file into that directory but the "root browser" app from the play store could paste it. Then changed permissions, rebooted and ... back is screen rotation !!! Thanks !! :good:

BTW, so it seems the problem is that when you uninstall samsung HUB (which I indeed did), it removes that particular file. See: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=49604191

Hi, Besides hitting the THANKS button, I would like to give following information for other users:
I have PhilzTouch installed and tried to flash the zip file severel times, But everytime after wiping cache part. and dalvik I noticed that nothing changed.
So I did the copy/paste action as described and after rebooting it worked.
Hi All,
I had the same issue when i rooted my device, and lost the rotation and use the method described here to fix the issue.
But after reboot the phone it will keep popping the message " Unfortunately, Samsung Hub has stopped" and it won't go away or let me do anything on the phone, as soon as i hit the OK button it will popup again.
Any possible fix for that, Please !!!
Thank you all.

Can someone help me with this, please... I have no idea what this means.
1) I downloaded the file
2) The instructions say to move the libgnustl_shared.so file into System>>Lib. When I download the file, libgnustl_shared.so is already in a folder called System>Lib...
3) Someone else said to FLASH via recover or something?? What does that mean? Can someone explain this in straightfoward terms? Thank you.
In that case, you should try to replace the existing file with the new one.
You just need to set up the parameters of the file (permissions into rw r r) as explained before. You can do it with ES Explorer for instance.
No need to do something else, just reboot.

changin permission parameters for getting screen rotation
OK, easy, my first question was and has been "how to change the permissions".
And alone, not being an Android Geek, I succeeded !!!
First use Root Explorer, with it copy and paste (or move) the " libgnustl_shared.so" file in the "\system\lib" directory.
Once it's done (always with Root Explorer) apply a finger on this new file, a menu appears and choose "Permissions". Then there, keep only Read on the three lines, and only Write on the first line. Then click on OK.
And reboot your system.
Amazing, it's working, like the first day and before you rooted it...
Thanks again for your solution.
thanks
works great on i9505 kitkat. don't forget to reboot
no permission
im getting this when i try to do it,
"changing permissions was not successful. please note that some file systems do not allow permission changes"
anyone know how to get around this??
cheers

there is apparently no app in the system/app folder for bluetooth, which i'm guessing is the problem
now where the heck do i find the 'replacement'? There is no bluetooth app in the market. sorry for not knowing exactly what to do
The system/app contains the bluetooth app, take a look
And if you are running 4.4.2 I can upload the apps for you

thanks, ive never sideloaded an app before so if you wouldnt mind....
do i download on computer? and then after I extract I take the APK and push it through? I can lookup this process but just wondering if this is the route i'm supposed to be going next
Download "ES File Explorer" then click on option button
Then scroll down and turn on Root Explorer
Then click on root explorer and choose Mount Option and change the /system to rw
Then download the apps & extract them
You can extract them on pc, then copy the apps to SD Card
From SD Card copy them to System/app

really thankful for your help
i did get those exact files into my sys/app folder
restarted the device and bluetooth still wont work...really frustrating. hard to believe the only way to fix this might be to get a completely different custom ROM and resetup my entire device, which will take hours and i'm sure it's just a matter of time before I have some other problem.
Any suggestions welcome
Sorry I forgot the most important thing
Keep pressing on any app in the /System/app
And click properties
And look to the permission of the app
then keep pressing on the Bluetooth app and click properties and click change the permission of the bluetooth app to Permissions like the previous app
Reboot
Is there anyone out there who is still running the stock version of lg g2 24A that could pull the VerizonVVM.apk from system? I have my phone on cloudyG3 and I really don't want to have to restore all the way back to stock just for this one apk. it seems like a waste of time and internet. I just was wondering if there was anyone kind enough to take the time to do this for a fellow user.

You have yo install it using a PC , copy the .apk file and plug your phone using USB (as media sync) and paste the apk file right inside the download folder.
Next , unplug your phone , go to play store and install "astro file manager" then browse through the download folder inside your phone , and simply install the app.
I hope I helped
