This is a great phone, love it:good:
Well if HMD isn't going to show North America any consideration, i think i might just import this phone - even with no LTE support.
The last time i imported a phone unreleased in the US was the Nokia N80 and it was one of my favourite phones to date.
I do hope they're going to provide a possibility to unlock the bootloader. But i bought it anyway because it seemed just to good for it's price.
And so far i love it!
It looks so damn sexy, feels great and performs very well.
I only have it for a small week now but i really love it.
Performs well in games also without heating up and so far the camera is very good as well.

You can get the Chinese variant because it has band 4 LTE according to gsmarena and you will get LTE in NA.
With no Google services? No thanks

Perhaps you missed that LTE support was the ideal scenario.
As a last resort, i would import from Europe - but the global ROM on a Chinese variant is a far more enticing prospect for at least ONE North American LTE band.

That's my only gripe with the phone(and the bootloader unlock uncertainty) but that can be address with some apps, future updates to the ambient display functionality or just a minor adjustment from our part.
I wasn't sure I could live without the led and even tried some apps but the reality is, after one week, I did not miss any more notifications that I was already missing with my last phone. For now this is the phone I've should have bought after leaving the Nexus 5. But hey, lesson learned, I'm not buying another Xiaomi, that's for sure...
I bought black/copper version yesterday and man I'm loving this phone. Coming from OnePlus 3T. I kinda wished that notification light, but I have allready forgotten "need" for that. Yes. it's convinient to have it, but lifting phone to check notifications is quick. Or you can double tap screen to wake screen and see whole notifications.
I think there could be place to optimize os a bit further. There are minor lags and hungups here and there. I know that we are dealing with S660, but I feel like these could be addressed by optimizing os.
I feel sort of nostalgic to have Nokia phone again after so many years. Last Nokia phone was 5800 XpressMusic and man that phone sucked quite many way.
Beautiful phone. Got this from 2 days ago and I am surprised.
I don't need notification led .
I love battery capacity and Android One
The phone is very smooth and 8.1 response very fast with SD660.
The only minus is volte and vowifi for my carrier.

I just can't live without it. I don't know how many times a day I glance the phone, especially from a distance.
I don't understand the logic behind not having a notification LED.

C'mon mate in these days all the people around the world are checking their phones regularly. It's became already a bad habit.
In my point of view the notification led is history...
Quite a nice phone. I'm still unsure whether I'm going to return it or not, but for now I'm keen on keeping it.
I was looking for a replacement for my [too heavily modded and slowly killed of - sorry mate...] Xiaomi Mi5 in the 400 euro price range, and I think I actually found it.
Feels great in the hand, weight and everything, the big screen is really nice, the camera is pretty good, the audio is good enough for my ears, with 2.5h+ sot and two configurations with lots of backed up data/one factory reset + 8.1 update while still having 60% battery is really nice (all the while being on data) and the stock Android is just perfect for me, would not want more. My only gripes would be the slight hangs in scrolling speed, when it tries up to lazy load the next scrolling page (the mi5 was not as obvious as the nokia when it tried to do this), the slight lag when opening the recents tab and the slight delay when unlocking with the fingerprint reader, but I suppose this is something I can go by with.
Why did I go for the Nokia when I could've go for last year's flagships? I honestly wanted a newer chipset, stock Android (without any flashing in between) at an affordable price, and I think this hits the marks.
I feel depressed af. After using a device with the worst community ever(it did not even have a dedicated XDA forum) I bought this, now with release of Moto g6 series and Nokia x6 I feel angry and depressed at the same time. What the **** is wrong with Nokia why the **** would they release x6 when they already have the 7 plus. The x6 has better specs, better designfor a lesser price. But the thing that really makes me angry is that there is no distinctive feature about this phone. To top that there are so less accessories for this phone and the ones available are not even good. There are no skins available for this phone either and even if they will be available all the copper on the phone will make the phone look ridiculous. Now the x6 is released for lesser price and by the number of people who bought it or pre ordered it, it looks like it will have a better accessories.l, and the glass back also looks better than the 7 plus. You may say the 7 plus is an Android one phone but Nokia releases different updates to different regions where some regions have certain features and some not. To sum it up the phone is good but with no option to unlock bootloader and no market for accessories it sucks.

I'm not sure where you are heading.
The X6 has worse chipset, worse camera specs, having glass back is not a plus in my book (breaks easily). I've been able to find alle covers etc on aliexpress/ebay for my 7+ needs.
But it's a shame with the lack up updates for some people, big bummer by Nokia there, they should release updates worldwide for everybody at same time. And locked bootloader etc is a shame too. But overall I'm very happy with the phone.

I'm tired of this planned obselesence bull. It has the same exact camera. If I don't see high bitrate 4k, 60fps 1080p, and manual video control I'm done. Furthermore, I better not see any UI improvements that won't be present on the G4 in a near future time.
If they do any of this nonsense on a year old, marketed, FLAGship, I'm finished. At that point I'll know the path they are taking with their phones and what they think of their consumers.
I see what you mean but we live in such system, now more than ever, programmed obsolesence is the first reason phone's are sold. We can't do nothing really, what we can do is stopping buying but no one will do that because for one that not buy there are millions that buy, try to port features or just use alternative apps.
Yep, then don't buy. Vote with your wallet, eventually these companies would understand why their sales are dropping. I've already sold my LG G4
I jumped ship this evening and ordered the 6P. I've had several awful days of lock ups, lag, bad touchscreen response, weird graphic glitches, etc. Just done.

Hmmm.. An open conversation between developer and consumer? At least with Google, you KNOW you have at least a year before they will release their next flagship. I bought the G4 and LITERALLY the next day the V10 leaks started! Also... frequent updates without carrier bs (I'll never forget the update I got on my last phone.. when everyone else was getting Lollipop, AT&T pushed out an update that installed UBER and AT&T Live on my damn phone lol). The Nexus will have a vibrant developer community that isn't hobbled by locked bootloaders and carrier restrictions, and a Fingerprint scanner to name a few. But, the G4 does have some features that I don't think you'll find on the 6p! Namely, horrible touch-screen response, lag that appears out of nowhere, a plastic back that can get so hot I'd swear it was metal. Sorry for the pessimism but this is only my 2nd Android phone and I'm batting 0/2 as my first was the AT&T variant of the Galaxy S5 (RIP Safestrap!) and I'm done with this crap lol. As soon as possible, I'm hitching my horse to a Nexus and never looking back! PS I forgot! The 6P has that giant Cyclops eye on it's backend! Also, having said all that, the developers that are working here on the G4 are amazing! The fact that they've been able to do what they have despite the restrictions is awesome!
I will definitely miss the manual camera, I think LG did a great job with that, and I'm disappointed that Google has not included manual settings in the stock camera. But there are other manual camera apps for that. I've been hunting down camera comparison shots for weeks, looking to see that the 6P can hold it's own, and I'm confident in all the test shots I've found. It's less a question on what the 6P has than what it DOESN'T have. I have reached the end of my patience with the bad performance of the G4 that I'm willing to lose some (if any) camera quality to gain stability and reliability. It's true that you gain a thriving development community with Nexus, but the development on the G4 didn't bother me to begin with. I'm perfectly happy with just root! It's a shame, because I had a G3 which I loved.

I've said this for years xD I'm no longer buy Apple devices or Samsung devices. I'm only left with LG, Sony and the smaller brands. Haha.
Every company does this, so, if this happens now, I won't have another LG. These companies just keep trying to sell more and more phones every year.
I'm also crossed that LG doesn't allow longer exposures for third party apps so you don't have 30 sec. exposure times.
I must say that from all the brands. I was the most satisfied with HTC. (had One M7). Good updates, has google play edition. Awesome policy. Too bad that when G4 came out you really didn't have a good camera phone except it and S6.
Too bad, the companies are shifting to this practice. As @Mad_Duke said the HTC M7 was the phone I liked the most (except for the camera). For the past 1,5 years I owned Sony (Z3), OnePlus (One), Samsung (S6/920F) and now the G4. I have to say that Oneplus was the most satisfying overall. All big names are unfortunately doing their own practices to sell more phones. Sony was slow at releasing 5.0 (and when it got released it was a "crippled" update), Samsung puts too much bloat and do not release the full documents for the Exynos, thus the development is slow. So far LG is kind of OK, at least you can flash some of the updated apps. However, if you want the fastest and most developed phones, you have to go with Nexus (or OnePlus like) devices.
I kinda expected manual camera for g3 when g4 came out. However, seeing a reality of thos bussiness I can see why they need to constantly shell out new products and plan the software obsolence of the older ones - because market (all of us) demands it. We need new models, company just cant sell same phone for 2 years and just shell out the updates (even with nexus5 we started demanding new models).
Vallet voting, just that.
I hope your post is a joke!
I had Nexus 4 before, and even if it was a Google device,I never had manual camera(with third party App),HDR+ or other improvements.
The same is happened with Samsung,Sony and Apple.
So what are we talking about?
If you want devices that has improvements in camera you should buy a Windows Phone.
After updates, even Lumia 520 has Manual Camera.
What a stupid thread
I have had marshmallow since day one ableit custom rom
Unlocked bootloader h815
Lg are a business in a cut throat market with so much choice for the consumer
You cannot live without the extra features? Wow lol
Imho its the best phone of 2015
Wow... just wow. Some of you guys are expecting waaay to much. It's not like other companies/phones bring all the latest **** to their older phones. The V10 has extra hardware to make some of the new video features work, so no, you probably won't get these features.
Also, LG is the first non-nexus to update to marshmallow but for some this still isn't fast enough. They offer fine support for this phone, realize normal consumers don't care if updates like these take longer (see Samsung) but LG is offering it way faster anyway.
The G4 looks very attractive right now.
The v10 is bigger, in size. Great video if you need it.

S6 still does not have shutter control in the UI, the s6e+ & note 5 which came out only 3 months later have it.
S6 has raw and shutter in the api so if you use a 3rd party app you can use it but everybody wants to do this in the stock app.
The Z5 has shutter control, still no raw. Previous xperias have no shutter control because companies lock down the camera api to the point that the only reliable camera app you can use is the stock one.

not really, the 930 languished for a couple of years after it launched. Its successor is two years late, the 950 but the OS is difficult to deal with without google services integration.
its true nokia camera interface is ahead of the curve and is available even on budget devices. But OIS, lens, bigger sensor and image processing requires more cpu is only present on higher end models. The 830 has ois. The 1020 can't do 4k.
G4 has been a POS since day one with the exception of the fantastic camera. I cannot believe that ppl are still here when you got phones like the Note 5 and 6P on the market. A removable battery and SD card slot does not solve lag and touchscreen issues....
I bought this device because it was overall very good in all the reviews I read. I read that the charger that came with it didnt support Quick Charge 2.0. That was the first dissapointment. When i received it, it was running Android 6.0. I did an OTA check and no updates were available. I decided to download Lg Bridge and i finally found one update. I bought this device on one condition, to avoid LG UX 4.0. And guess what, my phone was part of an ever growing crowd of people who didnt have the eu bootloader! I felt like I was smacked in the face. I searched the internet for more info and my fears were confirmed. Ever since that i vowed to never buy from LG again. Android is about Freedom and there is none of that on the LG G4. European market bias confirmed:crying:. Months after the discovery I had witnessed the scariest thing ever, I was listening to some music with my LG earphones plugged in. And suddenly i couldnt wake the damned thing anymore but when i touched the screen i could hear typing sounds, I had to pull the battery out. The battery life on the thing was mediocre at best, the screen never lived up the my expectations, the phone gets dangerously hot when i use snapchat. The only thing going for the LG G4 is its camera which was probably the best in 2015. I simply cannot stand the lag on the phone anymore and I am searching for other phones. Im not that kind of person who spends 600 euros on a phone. Then the Oneplus 3 showed and for 400 euro i get a phone 2 times as powerful, dash charging, an UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER and a premium design. Whats more Oneplus actually tries to fix its phones and released tons of fxes for the OP2. Im pretty sure the phone will get Android Nougat even if it takes a while(after witnessing what speedy updates meant on the LG G4 I would prefer slow and steady progress). The only thing the oneplus loses in is the camera department which will improve. Im tempted to wait for the 2016 Nexuses as they will have the best Android experience as well as support for Daydream vr. Ive also checked out the ugly zenfone 3 deluxe which will cost much more than 400 euro. The Axon 7 is also tempting but im not sure if the 6gb version will come out for Europe, the bootloader seems to be locked for now(news next week on whether it will be unlocked) So guys should i wait for the more expensive Nexus by HTC or look out for the OP3 and Axon 7?
You're not alone.
After a year of using it
Pro:
- Battery life, yes it last more than one day, and never need the 2nd battery
- Camera, I am not a pro, but keep getting compliment saying the photos are awesome
- Screen, I have no complaint, but nowaday a lot of high-end phone gets 1440p screen
- Quick eMMC speed and SD support
Cons:
- Still no unlocked BOOTLOADER!
- ****ty OS
- SLOW CPU nowaday
- Poor Wifi (50% vs my iPAD air 2 full bar)
- Very poor resale value
- Leather gets dirty quickly and expensive to replace
Verdict: The camera is holding me from getting another phone. It will be either Note7, Nexus 2016, or iPhone7.
I do not agree with some things here. The leather is not getting dirty fast at all except if you are not careful enough. I have the phone since February and the leather is like day one. I do agree that those covers are too expensive. The phone gets warm but so do many others with Snapdragons. Only my S6 and iPhone does not get very warm. It's a common issue with Android phones due to their hardware. The latest Snapdragons tend getting warmer than other chips. My 6P was getting very warm too. Metal is good for cooling during winter but during summer it absorbs the surrounding heat faster than other materials. The battery life is OK. Just OK nothing outstanding. I get 3 to 4h SoT indoors with WiFi and 1 to 2h SoT outside with 4G. The screen of G4 is 1440p except if I didn't understand correctly what you wrote. It's like you implied that the G4 has no QHD screen which is wrong. Overall the phone is one of the snappiest and lag free I ever had. It definitely feels more snappy than the 6P which shocked me when I bought it. The UX is OK. I find it a bit ugly and uninspired. It misses some options and features. Like settings search. The only thing that bothers me with this phone is the Bootloop issue and the absence of fingerprint reader. I will never buy OnePlus though. No official service centres in many countries and very slow Android updates. Look when they got Marshmallow. Their OS is buggy as hell. Also I will never again trust a phone with an OLED panel except from Samsung's. All non Samaung phones that have OLED tend to have weak and lower quality panels which are bad optimised. My guess is OEMs order lower grade OLED panels from Samsung to cut costs. G4 has one of the best screens I ever had. G4 and my older S6. I live in a sunny country and I had problems with many phones which were absolutely not visible during the day. For the price it is still one very good phone. Now it's dirty cheap. LG just lost their Mojo. They are trying too hard to innovate and do crazy things and lost the basics in the process.

Moving to Samsung!
I was always trash talking sony, after buying this one I feel bad for that. I did not even know i bought a dual version until i got it :c
Now there is no unlock/root for me (bye-bye dualshock, drivedroid etc). Buy cheap, buy twice.
After a year or so, my main issue is the weak SoC.
It is really showing its age (weaker overall than 2 years old Snapdragon 805). I'm not even playing games, but using the likes of Google Photos takes its toll on the CPU and the battery drains fast.
Sometimes, it struggles to keep up with daily tasks (Google Maps, instant messaging apps, web browser, Strava, camera) : laggy, overheating.
Looking forward to the V20.

Jesus people, stop crying and make a reaserch before you gonna buy a phone. This kind of posts are on every phone forum, every single one, G4 is my 11th Android phone, I had Motorola, Sony, OPO2, OPPO, Samsung and on each forum I've seen countless posts like this. FYI - LG is a first phone that I really like after one year of using, just before I bought it I have read about unlocking bootloader, root, etc and chose it after some reaserch.

i have seen few htc with my friends htc m8 ithink they were they had a solid build quality and never gave a problem to them all 3 of them running cynogen i bet quality wise htc or samsung are best Huawie and chinese phones are not attrctive but have solid build quality i knw this for sure
I'm done with LG as well. I wonder if anyone from LG reads REAL communities and learn from this? Mine is battery life, while some get good life, mine is at 50% by noon and I start at 9 am, so that's not saying a lot for this phone. Of course the locked bootloader, but even more than the lock, their OS is just abysmal, why, just why?
I can't wait until the Zenfone 3 Deluxe shows up in Canada.

Oh dude, so here is what your NOT UNDERSTANDING. The H812 (Canadian Version) came shipped with Android 5.1. It DID NOT have a locked bootloader. Then one day in February we got the Magical Unicorn also knows as Marshmallow. Like many MANY other people, we updated the OTA because we just needed that battery improving upgrade, after-all Europe got this update 2 months before and are happily running the phone the way they see fit...Stock, Roms, Root, whatever. SURPRISE PHONE BOOTLOADER LOCKED UPON OTA. This has nothing to do with the actual phone itself as a functioning electronic device, this has to do with LG's GIANT FK YOU Canada.

Sorry but your point is not valid, the sellers don't tell you if its the European bootloader version or not.
I have the Singapore model so I'm stuck with what I have.

European reseller has no right to sell you Singapore version as warranty won't be valid in Europe, if you referring to some eBay sellers then you can always ask about country origin.

There must be a way to restore the bootloader . I read on some post taht a guy used a ZTE software to rewrite all phone partitions and he modified IMEI and Device ID . He did not changed bootlaoder but I think there must be a way .I will look for that post and I will post here . He explained that his phone was switching mode and appeared in his Windows Device manager like a serial COM device and he had access to all phone partitions ,about 20-30 of them .

I had LG G4 for 1 year and a half, i was tierd of waiting for software fixes, Android 7 etc... The phone got worse day by day, even after factory reset. On 31 December i have switched to Moto Z, 2 days ago i got Android 7 via OTA, the phone is flowless and the camera is slightly better then G4, also the battery life is better, and dont forget that you can add modules. I will buy the Incipio pack with 2220mAh. Just read the reviews.
I'm the not-so-proud owner of the LG v20 dual SIM phone...and with it, 6 months on...it's STILL lacking a viable root option on 7.0 Nougat and there's not a SQUEAK of support on the development side coming from LG. So, I've turned to this new release. The P10 Plus looks quite attractive as a potential upgrade from me. Here's why, in my books:
- MIMO dual antenna is excellent for COVERAGE concerns/download speeds
- Retains a useful IR blaster (hooray, it's not dead on smartphones afterall!)
- LED notification status indicator/light (User manual page 4 indicates green, red and orange thus far...think I've also seen white)
Then you add the fact that it comes boxed with a case (or even without the cut diamond reduces fingerprints and is a nice feature); it is available in Dual SIM (and also B28 700Mhz frequency; important for me in Australia); it's no bigger than 5.5" - and while it 2K IPS, it more than makes up for the hefty 3750mAh battery drainer with a massive battery. That's enough to convince me to change.
But first things first - viable root. Who is getting this phone? Whats the liklihood, as Huawei did for the P9 Plus, to release the open source kernal for download? Who is going to attempt and develop root for it? If any owners are reading this, PLEASE post a video testing out the NFC and the notification lights (with lightflow, if possible) - that would be super helpful!

Haha. Thanks. I'll change the heading..
I'm also sitting here with a V20 and boy do I regret getting this phone.. Even though I have root and am able to flash a couple of custom ROMS availlble for my device, I'm still not one bit satisfied with this phone. GPS totally sucks! I'm being navigated to a location and all of the sudden I hear nothing because the app is "looking for GPS signal" and never locks in... This happens in both stock and custom (with updated GPS files)
I'm really attracted to the P10 Plus and am really considering in purchasing the phone. I don't think we'll know about dev until a little bit more time passes as this phone is still a little bit new.
I've come to the P10 Plus from the LG G6, which I REALLY didn't like, and I'm happy to confirm that it's a great device. Superb camera, really nice feel and design (I have the blue diamond cut version), and it's much smoother than the LG in handling tasks. Battery is ok, but I'm still in that new phone, constantly tweaking, phase, so I'll see what happens when I revert back to normal usage. I can definitely recommend getting one if you're on the fence about it.

Thank you! I really appreciate it your input!
Where did you purchase yours from? I'm in the USA, not too sure which version to purchase for full LTE speeds on AT&T hmm
I live and work in China, so not too hard for me to get hold of one here, lol - they're EVERYWHERE at the moment, big push for them before the S8 hits
I picked one up myself. I'm loving the camera, but i haven't made it my daily driver yet as i'm patiently waiting for a new rom and recovery. Almost went with OPPO but they are really locking down their devices.
How do you guys find battery life and standby?
Standby appears to be great. Battery... Not so much. BUT! I'm still in the honeymoon phase with phone, so it is getting used a lot. I'll post again in a few days when I have taught myself not to keep playing with it. The phone too
Love this p10 plus!

Surprising regional strategy by Huawei....as Samsung is as big as Apple here, yet their AUS region service people and marketing know nothing st all, so that's as good as not even existing. They need to start pushing in countries where LG is doing well, because there's people who will ditch their sh*tty brand and lack of dev support for their models in favour of this phone:

Yep! You and me both. Except YOU are enjoying root at the very least...you can't have DUAL SIM and root, so I'm looking to ditch this sooner rather than later.
Anyone able to post any videos of using NFC or the LED notification light? Want to see how either it is to detect and its brightness, etc.

any updates on battery life?
Im lookin at this phone also.. But I need some screen on time shots and battery usage to know how well it fares with the competition. Also how dev friendly is Huawei?? I've never used a Kirin soc before. I have not seen benches on it too. Anyone post any yet?
I had an S7 Edge Qualcomm but screen wanted to get a pink line down it so I sold it off. (I had lineage booting on it) Tried Dual sim LG V20 for a few days.. absolutely hated that phone. So I'm shopping around trying to find my next phone I want to bring Lineage to.
Seems Huawei forums are dead on here until months after release. I wonder how hard it is to employ someone, part time, as a social media marketing expert who jumps on these places, lends their time every so often and PROMOTES their product, PUSHES it to people, COMPARES against the competition. Rather than just waiting for people to spend big dollars to get their hands on it, dislike it (if they do, for whatever reason), and then sell it? There's just no useful information that can be obtained on here yet...

So, a few sources say that our devices will receive the Android O update very soon and to pass the time, why not share our expected or assumed OTA roll-out dates? I think that we will receive the update by the end of this month. What about you?
Agreed. I think they will probably release a rollback package or something like that with the original firmware to go along with it (7.0).

It's ironic how you say this topic is irrelevant when you only reply with, "it's coming" which indicates absolutely nothing. From everything that I've read and taking Honor's past into consideration I think we may have to wait until March, which makes little to sense to me.
Why isn't Honor putting a little more effort into marketing this device? I've bought a half a dozen so far, primarily for friends that were still using phones from 3-5 years ago. They all love it and of course, coming from older devices, they feel like this device is a flagship!
Only real thing I miss is NFC, but my watch has it. 2.4 GHz is what I use for everything but my video streaming devices. I really could care less it still has a MicroUSB port.

Your Comments Caught My Eye...
You seem to be a very Nice and Thoughtful friend.. To purchased not only 1 of these devices for yourself.. but to gift over $1,200.00 U.S.D. / 985 EURO's to friends to update their devices.. is truly a friend indeed :good:
Since you are obviously a man of means... what brought you to this budget device in the Honor 7X ?
It's certainly not the fastest..
Or.. has the best display...
Or.. the most RAM..
Why not the View 10, Huawei Mate 10 Pro, One Plus 5T, Pixel, S8, Note 8 ???
What brought a man of your means to the Honor 7X.. I'm really curious to know if you don't mind sharing..
As a software developer I own a plethora of devices and usually carry a minimum of 2 devices. Generally I am very conscious of the condition of my devices and despite the fact the majority of them never leave an office environment, they are all plastered in screen protectors and cases, it seems like they become more fragile every year. The S8 has been my secondary to my Pixel XL 2 since I got it, but as soon as I received the Honor 7X I put the S8 in the drawer. The 7X runs naked and I'm not worried about dropping it. It has enough of what I need. I run package Disabler and remove most of EMUI and Huawei's bloat, with Pixel launcher installed, I have a very close to stock Android on a rugged unit that's as tough as a 90s Nokia!

So far, based on the reveal, it ticks all the boxes for anything I'd ever want in a phone! The pop-up selfie cam is a great feature and allows for a FULL almost bezelless screen, and I'm looking forward to the warp charging, 90Hz display, battery capacity, improved vibration, high RAM and storage, and a price that's right for everything packed in it! As a dedicated Android geek and lover of phones, I can safely say this will be one I'll love

Actually I have a question: I'm not really familiar with OnePlus and been hearing all the hoopla over the 7 Pro lately. I'm currently using a (bleep) unrootable Kyocera DuraForce Pro and am just about had it with the software issues I'm having with the phone that could've been fixable if it was rooted.
Overall, how good has OnePlus been regarding getting root on their phones?
Based on the specs I've been reading about the 7 Pro, it looks like an interesting option. HOWEVER, I require root so I can strip the crapware and slugwares and tweak the os itself to my performance requirements.
Picked mine up today from Miami and I'm in love ...turned in a Note 9 for it. Silky smooth, fast as hell and the screen is incredible.

I think you're in for a treat then.
OnePlus has always been very developer and community friendly. Their first phones actually shipped with CyanogenMod, the predecesor of LinageOS. That's the type of software people go trough hoops and loops to get, right out of the box.
Now they're using OxygenOS, which is their own android skin, and is pretty close to stock android. They also come with no OnePlus bloatware or duplicate apps.
Be careful not to get the T-Mobile variant tough, as I believe those do have a locked bootloader, which would make you unable to root or flash custom ROMs.

Yeah, T-mobile's variant of the 6T did indeed come with a locked bootloader. However, OnePlus did provide a bootloader unlock code that you could register for. The only caveat was that you had to be carrier unlocked, which you *technically* are not able to do until the device is paid off...BUT...after talking to T-Mobile reps, a lot of people, myself included, were granted the opportunity to carrier unlock their phones. For me, the rep basically said that if I paid two of my monthly installments upfront, they would unlock it for me. Of course, being the geek I am, albeit one with low patience for waiting to root, I obliged! Once I registered for the bootloader unlock code, I just had to wait a week to receive it. Man, was that the longest week ever, haha XD Then, all you have to do is follow the instructions on the OnePlus site as to how to enter it via ADB, and then "OEM unlock," and you're golden! I'm anxious to see how the 7 Pro will arrive out of the box.

I have the official OnePlus bumper case as well as the protective case and they both fit great with no coverage over the screen. Even with the bumper case there is a good 1mm gap between the case and visible screen.

I have had the OP 7 Pro for over 24 hours now and am very pleased with it. The one main concern for me was the size, as I knew it would be quite a large phone with some good weight to it (coming from the Pixel 3). But honestly, it really isn't that bad. Everything so far has been excellent. The software is great as you would expect from OnePlus, photos look great (haven't taken too many yet to really get an honest opinion), screen and 90hz rate is just awesome. I am also quite impressed by the sound, I am really glad they stepped up their speakers on this device. I have read some concerns about battery life, but I started this day at full charge and currently have 56% left with 3 hrs 36 min of screen time (I have been on more than usual today since I have been playing with the device). However, this is great battery life for me as I try to get at least 30 min of screen usage out of every 10% battery droppage (that has been my go-to measurement for years). Overall, very happy with the purchase.

Don't. OnePlus confirmed TMobile updates would be slower.
With an unlocked bootloader, would it possible to flash the non TMobile software and still recieve OTA updates? I heard TMobile is carrier unlocking financed phones upon request if you give 2 months as a down payment.

I would suggest checking out the 6t forums, but if i remember as long as the device itself isn't different from the unlocked variant, (different bands, processor etc) once your on the regular stock rom, you should be able fine to receive OTA updates since it's the same device as an unlocked one.
The phone itself looks fantastic and i'm really close to pulling the trigger, but i'm on an s8 ( stock) and i have unfortunately grown accustomed to using Samsung Pay. It's almost unfair that google couldn't get MST for google pay, and even worse that i love using it.
