Redmi Note 4 SD Wifi wakelock issue - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hi.
I found in the net that many people have wifi drain.
In my case the phone have 8h of wakelock per day.
Yes thats right 8h wakelock per day.
4% for 8h and 12% for 24h. Thats 1 hour and 20 min screen on time wasted on the air.
It happened on every rom. No matter is official MIUI beta MIUI, LOS 14.1, AOSP Nougat. For Oreo the problem is even worse.
The problem is causing buy the bad Xaiomi wifi modem drivers.
Many users have expirience the same problem like this tread right here --> http://en.miui.com/thread-769143-1-1.html
Some users say that entering in the router and disable UPNP and IGMP fix the problem for mediatek users --> http://en.miui.com/thread-461641-1-1.html
To have a such a good phone and to have that kind if problem is really bad for xaiomi company.
I guess the chinese routers are different from that in europe.
The problem appear from different brad of routers.
Guess its a matter of luck that if some users appear that kind of problem.
So far i dint find any fix for this bug.
I try different modems.
Like from first MIUI version to the laste MIUI 9.2.1
Chinese firmware from official and beta.
So far no luck.
I open this tread to fix the problem.
Hope many users will joint to make this phone perfectly.
I really love it but this 12-14% lose for a day is really bad.

Battery drains like whatever...

I've tried two different ROMs but the problem with battery seems to be in two of the latest Roms one is near 2.5.4 (the latest one if I quoted wrong) and second one is X-note v4 and now v7 these are ones that happen to have battery draining problem.
It happens whenever i use camera and then close or get out of it and after an hour or so whenever i check all ic is my battery is dead. Is there some fix for this problem or are we stuck with it forever?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Bump
It's a 4.4.2 firmware problem. This qq camera daemon makes phone hot and drains battery like hell. Sonetimes i have same problem: the only temporaly fix for me is to pull the battery out of phone for a few mins
I'm looking for proper fix is there any fix that can take care of this forever? You need not to take battery just restart your phone or max shutdown that will do the job till next time.. wonder what is causing all this and how can it be few of us only? Whilst the firmware is out in millions of phones in various varieties of phones...
We really need this fix if anyone has fixed this issue please share so others like us can benefit...
Thanks
Still looking for fix...

Samsung Galaxy A3 (300FU) Battery Stats Problem Bluetooth

Hey guys
recently i bought a Bluetooth speaker and connected it to my A3 (300FU), but now when i check the battery stats to see what is eating my battery it only shows Bluetooth (not even screen, wifi etc) [ see screenshots]
i deleted dumpstat/logcat and also wiped cache partition but it didn't help.... is there an obvious solution or am i missing something here?
*running stock Marshmellow ROM
Any help would be appreciated
i think a few users have it confirmed, Bluetooth seems to be a major drain in MM for A3FU.
i can only advise to update to a newer build. what build are you btw? do a screenshot of About in Settings
i didn't have a problem until recently, when i paired my device with the bluetooth speaker.
should i reset network settings?
I've attached the screenshot.
all users who reported BT issues came from first BT pairing, just like you. and they were all on PH3.
It's a rom bug that you can only hope they notice and fix, and then it's up to you to try the new builds and see if there is any change.
But is this a bug only in the battery stats or is bluetooth actually draining the battery even if its turned off ?

Quite sure bluetooth is being the idiot here.
I do not own this device but I had this issue on my other A series device and it's because of the Nearby Device Scanning in Other Connection Settings.
This feature is included after updating to Mashmallow and it causes your Bluetooth to be always ON if the feature is ON(By default its ON so go and turn it off).
BTW, how did you get the battery graph on Mashmallow? Didn't Samsung removed it since Lollipop? I can't access it on my device, my sister's J7 and my mom's S7 edge

Nearby device scanning is turned to off, should i reset network settings? maybe that way it will correct the readings
For the Battery stats --> Settings -->at the System section search for Battery--> Battery usage, or maybe just use S finder
I've got the same issue. Untill I switch Bluetooth on, normal battery stats, as soon as I do, everything is reported as Bluetooth - no screen use, now Android System use. "Nearby Device scanning " option seems to have no effect.
I also had this issue when I upgraded to MM (build CPI1)... even tried factory reset, but problem persisted.
I think it's a bug in the Samsung ROM, no way to get rid of it without a software upgrade.
Same "bug" with my A300FU.
Tried everything...
Installed earlier firmware (rom) with odin (in which I did not have the exaggerated Bluetooth usage)
Installed latest firmware again
Full wipe
Install latest firmware
After installing each rim I have the high Bluetooth usage from the start without installing any app
My colleague with identical A300FU did have the same with the previous 6.0.1 rom, bit after OTA update it dissappeared on his device
So it has to do something with my setup....
According to the battery gauge Bluetooth is using approx 4mAh PER SECOND
Also explored the option to modify the power profile.xml in the framework-res.apk but to no avail (keep getting bootloop)
*frustrated*
Anyone an idea?
Flashing cm12 or cm13 and then reverting to stock 6.0.1 is also not a solution to this issue......
My Wife's Galaxy A5 (2015) also has this bug. All 6.0 firmwares - even latest from January. So stupid - I can't belive that they can't see this bug. There is no battery drain - only bad statistics. But its very anoying because You cant check how long screen was used etc. Scaning of near devices is disabled too - didnt help. Dammed.
Have You find any solution?
I never looked at that screen before, but I recently noticed this too and it freaked me out at first. After testing it tho, I was gonna post and ask other peoples' experience, but then I found this thread.
What I get is that initially my batterystats are recorded normally, but then when i turn on bluetooth, even if it's for 1 second, all stats disappear and bluetooth appears in that list with what appears to be a huge (and impossible) drain.

I normally have bluetooth on, and I don't actually notice my battery draining any faster than when it's off. Also, if the computed battery usage on this was accurate on my phone, I would run out of power in a matter of seconds. So it's definately a bug in the battery stats.

I beg to differ! I flashed lollypop and the problem disappears then, but it's there on both marshmallow builds for our country, even when starting fresh after a data wipe.
Which roms have you tried? And what rom is your colleague on after the OTA that fixed it? Buildnumbers would really help
For me: U1CPH3 and S1CPL1 both have this issue
It seems, for me at least, that after the December OTA security update the bug dissappear and i am now getting normal battery readings.

Al right, thanks! Latest rom/update for my country is from december too, but i still have it.
So i'll try downloading a jan 2017 rom for a different country and see what happens
Update:
Installed the S1CQA2 firmware, which should be the latest, and the bug is still there. Just with less unbelievable numbers and it takes a little while longer for it to make all other stats disappear.
Update2:
Looked into the powerprofiles.xml too, but the marshmallow one (which has this issue) is identical to the lollipop one (that doesn't have this issue). Also all there is to edit in there is the amperage usage for actual A2DP, but according to this https://source.android.com/devices/tech/power/values.html a lot of battery usage is just pushed to the batterystats service by the controller.
Now wondering what files are associated to the bluetooth controller. Simply replacing the bluetooth.apk from a different rom where this is working does not solve it either.
After some more digging, and succesfully porting the S5 bluetooth files to my phone, i found out that the samsung S5 suffers from this issue as well andthus the issue was still not fixed
Also, judging from other posts in other forums it appears the Note 4 has it too.
Therefore I think it is a touchwiz bug, and I am clueless on what to try anymore.
This is my third post in this thread in a row but editing my previous posts here might make the new info go unnoticed...
So this is just a heads up that the italian A300FU1CQC2 firmware has finally fixed this bug for me! :victory:
I have had bluetooth on (idle) all day now and it doesn't show up in battery stats at all.
great effort mate, really love it when people monitor the release stream .

Lollipop is indeed buggy, and one of the most serious bugs is that the radios is allways ON even if the WiFi is set to be disabled when screen off, that makes the Lollipop battery suck. Actually there's lots of bugs in Lollipop and that's to blame Google, lately has been really lame, since KitKat at least. KitKat is way superior but unfortunately the EPD implementation on KitKat is subpar. Yota as it seems has the intention of releasing the Marshmallow version, and it's now on Beta, so let's finger cross and wait for the best.
People here over XDA forums also come to check informations so they can install the latest Firmwares, and sometimes they don't know there's several models of YotaPhone 2 basically distinction being the radio frequencies they can work, so it's important that you use your device correct radio when using other firmwares, for example my Phone is from HongKong and I use the /radio files from the latest HongKong firmware, no matter if I am installing a Russian or European firmware. The wrong radio makes your phone use more battery and lost connection.

Root and install No-frills CPU Control is your solution :good: More details here : https://youtu.be/vOiAMsxq578
I have had same problem with the phone heating up badly last weeks time, this is the Yotaphone 2 206 model kitkat 4.4.4 , not rooted or anything, just as out of the box, it would randomly heat up so bad that it would switch itself off and not turn on again until cooled down, it seemed to get better after turning off location service but that could be coincidene
Marshmallow ROM overall is working well, I advice anyone that is not happy with KitKat to run Marshmallow, Lollipop is a disaster. Just remember that if you have a YD206 you should use the China radio or a little better the Hybrid Baseband created by some users. About the battery time, KitKkat and Marshmallow are the best ones, Just keep in mind that location services and Wifi always scanning uses too much battery. If you know how to use Tasker, you can program it to use data services only each 20 minutes or so when screen is off, making it idle for each 20 minutes with no data connection will make you battery really last longer, then make a rule to auto turn data on when screen on, make a tasker to get wifi on when you are at home and to disable wifi when you are out, with tasker or similar app you can make pretty much everything possible!
I use this to stop wifi out of home.
Easy to use and no root required.

Random power offs on the Moto g4 plus

About 2 months ago, my g4 plus started to power off on its own whenever on a battery percentage lower than 50%. This has been very bothersome to me. It powers off usually when playing a video or playing music through the speakers. Can anybody pls offer a solution?

1) Try a factory reset
2) Send the phone to a service center

rooted, unlocked bootloader?
Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
Same problem here. About 2 or 3 months with this problem.
What i got?
This doesn't happen when the phone is connected to charger.
It is almost always related with speaker, (notifications, music, youtube)
Also with camera (snapchat, stock camera)
The problem happens hardly ever when you are using a ROM (7 days with RRemix, only 1 restart - instead of- 5 power offs with stock rom every day)
I dont remember if it also happened in Marshmallow BEFORE installing any nougat firmware.
I have never read or heard about this bug in an European or USA's Moto G4 or G4 plus.
Everybody with this problem has had been using turbo charger every day.
Happens with locked or unlocked bootloader
If you're not agree with something of that, tell me, so i can delete it. (with proofs of course)
Solutions
Some users reported:
Disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes solved de problem, (i will try this, you have to open the device to do it)
Other users affirmed that changing the battery will solve the problem, i will do it if the the other solution doesn't work.
Calibrating the battery didn't work for me (3 days of full charges and discharges with 6 hours of wait to charge when the battery is 0%)
I'm really decided to fix this problem, for me and for everybody, because it is very annoying

This thread is one of the first I've heard of this issue. I've had my G4 for about 3 months so far and discharging works fine- regardless, this definitely reeks of a hardware problem though.
Motorola Service Centers WILL take your phone even if it's out of warranty and the battery is failing (just make sure to reflash stock ROM). Or, you can purchase a battery from WitRigs for $20 USD (several weeks shipping however) and replace it yourself.

Appreciate the help. But can you please disconnect your battery ASAP and share the result? Because after my phone's battery goes below 50, it is hardly usable at all, powering off at least 3 times continuously.
Yes exactly the same happens to me, also with more than 50%.
I will try that battery disconnecting and i'll report!

OK, i couldn't open my device because of a problem with the screws, so i gave up and i sent my device to a particular cell phone repair house, they replaced my battery, until now (8 hours) i can see the bug is fixed. My phone doesnt power off doing the same that before replacing the battery would had ended up in a power off... Also i noticed the bug with camera is fixed too, the problem of dark photos with flash.....

I did before posting. I mentioned xt1643 at first to know if any Indian guy faced this(or in future will read this) so he would let me know the price if he had his battery replaced. And also to know if changing battery solved their prob temporary at that time or permanently.
Same problem here, I decide buy a new battery. Sadly in my country I only find generic batteries . It's the only thing left for me to prove. I had been having lots of problems with that phone (ghost touch, yellow screen and now the battery).
I bought it in the US so I don't have warranty here.
No more Motorola-Lenovo for me, I'm going to change it as soon as I can.
I bought my Moto G4 Plus (XT1641 [Canada & Mexico variant]) 1 month ago. It came with Android 6.0.1, but i installed the Nougat OTA automaticly (so i did not test marshmallow). Well i get some spontaneous shutdowns too, when i was on stock rom.
This issue is similar to the one that has the Nexus 6p (zRam conflicts). What i did to stop the shutdowns is disable zRam and KSM, you can install ElementalX kernel and with a kernel managging app like EXManager (recommended) or kernel adiutor just disable the mentioned features.
If you want to remain with the stock kernel just follow these steps: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4/development/mod-disable-zram-t3435613
I recommend you to read the posted comment by EarlyMon in the page 2 of the thread, so you will know exactly what are you doing by disabling the zRam (basicly, boosting your SD617).
If this helps you, let me know.

sporadically losing data connection - reboot fixes temporarily - any ideas?

This has been happening for a couple months. Seems like a couple times a day I lose my data connection, and the only fix is to reboot. After that it's fine for a while, until it drops again...
Running rooted 6.0.1, radio version 3.61. Anything I can check? Or should I just flash a new image?
I have this issue, flashing different radios did nothing for me. The hardware is just going bad I think
Been having the same issue for a couple months now, going to my carrier for a new SIM and resetting APN did nothing. Thought it was my ROM at first and ended up flashing a few different ones along with kernels, it was never fixed. Data drops and comes back about 10 minutes later, every half hour or so. Seems to not effect calling or messaging, only data. Is this a confirmed hardware issue?
My wife and I both had our 6P's doing this as well. Seems like the device will get in a connection loop or something. the WiFi drops, then my 4g data signal, then both are out, then WiFi turns on, Data turns on, then repeats the process. I usually reboot, or toggle airplane mode off and on to stop it. Its periodic, but it doesn't last long on my end. I'm on T-Mobile BTW
UPDATE - REFER YOU TO THIS LINK. Looks like radio files from Android O Beta DP4 are confirmed to fix the T-Mobile Cell Signal Bug
Hopefully, this means our prayers have been answered

is it ok to apply the updated radio without upgrading android (staying on 6.0.1)? i heard there have been some issues with 7.x on the Nexus?

I do not know its comptibility with 6.0.1 - you could just make a backup and give it a try.
conversely I must say - Nougat on good ROMs is stable and gets good battery life. What are you concerns with just joining the party here on Nougat?

I'm running rooted stock android. Haven't made the move to any custom ROMs yet. I recall when Nougat first landed people were reporting some issues with it on the 6P (battery life? instability?).
That being said I'm open to loading a Nougat ROM if it's gonna be stable. Is there any consensus on top ROM for the 6P (something close to stock android experience)?
Close to stock with aroma installable features, check superxe rom, you can choose between nougat or Android O.
