Axon 7 lineage fingerprint button to take picture in camera app - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

Hi guys, and the few women out there. When first got the A7, it was stock for like 4 minutes. Major upgrade to LOS, and I immediately noticed the camera would no longer take a picture with the rear fingerprint reader. Is this a Lineage limitation? Any help appreciated.

well I see it as a disadvantage, since you don't need to apply any pressure it will snap a picture every time that you touch it by error. But I guess that there may be apps or xposed modules to emulate this behavior.

Heyo, same here.
Installed 2.1.2 and my google camera still dies after 2-3 Panorama pics (not yet stitched together pics) and yes, I tried reinstalling google camera...
After 3+ pics, it acts as if it takes the 4th pic, but actually freezes and the whole shot is for naught.
Frustration on: damn, sooooo many problems with this phone. Camrea, heat, crashes, no vpn, etc. and most of all, no ROM community to try other roms as a solution. No Cyanogenmod. Frustration off.

I have the same problem . And OnePlus persistently silent on the subject.
Exact same problem here... I'm really happy with the phone but all this little bugs are forcing me to think if it's the right phone for me... Let's wait and hope.

Very annoying camera issue, please help!

Okay so my camera does this in lowlight and yes when I take a photo the lines will stay... what is wrong?
Bump. It is sad that this is the 4th time I post in this section and get 0 replies.
Anyways I discovered that when I go lower the megapixels to 12MP or anything else NON WIDE the lines disappears, but whenever I choose a wide mode MP the lines appear.
Edit: 5 days ago I didn't have this kind of problem at all. Please help.

no sir its one of the problems with this phone, some other folks have reported the exact same issue i believe its a hardware issue with note 4's camera sensor. Look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/help/camera-shooting-lowlight-t3244104
i am afraid there is no way around it it was bothering me so i got rid of it (the next one was restarting randomly...and the next one had a broken gps....lol) samsung does not believe in quality i doubt if they even have a quality control department.
I'm having the same problem as yours
I went to samsung and they tried replacing the camera module but the problem remained, they said that I'm having a custom rom and it corrupted the "IC" of the camera, so it's a software problem as they say.
Is your phone rooted or running any no official rom?
See if you can update your camera firmware by going into the dialer and type *#34971539#
This is mine.
Edit:Update?? How?

Camera focus problem

I don't know if this has been posted already, but i have this pretty big issue with my phone. The thing is, in the stock camera app i can't really focus on objects closer than 6-7inches, while on other not strictly camera apps (for example Facebook Messenger or Whatsapp Camera) i can focus really really close, like 2-3 inches away. Is there any way to fix that?

Try a different camera app. I believe you can focus closer with Google Camera for example.

I don't really have a "focus issue" where i can't focus at all, i just can't focus as close as i can do on other non camera apps
i didn't, i'll give that a try

Lineage OS 14.1 Slow as Hell

Every app I open on this phone runs like crap and can't do anything without crashes. The battery life is the worst I've ever seen. Switching back to stock.
Ok

I am having the same problem, I have never had a rom so slow. Simple actions like moving the Facebook messenger bubble while browsing a forum app or sending a text message can put the phone into full lockdown mode. I believe the kernel is not ramping up properly or something. Horrible performance and bad battery life. not sure what is going on.
Even better than switching to stock, switching to the Galaxy S7 Edge. I'm betting Motorola won't release Nougat because of how slow it runs on the Moto X.
Either there is something wrong with your guys' phones or didn't properly flash the ROM.
My experience with LineageOS has been phenomenal.

I have used several Nougat roms on my Pure and yet to have a slow s hell issue. Now an issue with the Camera, that is another story.

Camera pretty usable on Lineage. Camera app opens instantly, takes maybe 3 seconds to switch from the front camera to the rear.
Are you using the night mode feature that changes the colour temperature, because I have LOS 14 on my Nexus 7, and it's super slow, and someone else noticed that below 6500K, it lagged, and above, it was fine.
If you are going to switch, and haven't yet: even better than Samsung - Nexus or pixel

same here. The only issue is the camera app and hat is slow to start.
Something is deff. wrong with their flash.

Yeah, same here, too. Just switched to LOS14.1 and I love it. Only issue seems to be the very slow-to-start camera. I was looking for a solution and came across this thread. At least it's not just me. Lol...

camera on my Nexus 6P not focusing - pictures coming out blurry

Hello, I purchased a Nexus 6P off of eBay and the camera is having trouble focusing - all my photos come out blurry. I have another Nexus 6P that's still on Android 6.0 and the camera works flawlessly, every picture seems to come out sharp and in focus. This Nexus 6P I bought off of eBay is on Android 8.01.
The camera on my Android 6.0 Nexus 6P is version 3.2.045.
The camera on my Android 8.1 Nexus 6P is version 5.1.018.17740874.
What do you guys suggest I do?
Thanks.
@elkbath Camera still the same for me since day one. Maybe your glass is dirty or try a factory reset. Try a different camera app. I've had updates that have messed up the camera on other phones and a reset usually clears them up. Just make sure to do a Google sync or manually back up everything.

thanks for the quick reply. I tried factory resetting it to no avail. I've also tried the NX Camera, Open Camera app, and FxCamera app and they all seem to have the same problem with focusing.
I took some comparison photos to show exactly what I mean but it's saying I need at least 10 posts in order to share links so I'm going to come back to this after I post more.
question: how can I get my Nexus 6P that's running Android 8.0 downgraded to match the same Android 6.0 my original Nexus 6P is running? I'm assuming I need to root, correct?
after asking the eBay seller if he had experienced any problems with the camera, he was kind enough to send me this:
"No, I did not have any issues with this phone or camera. I swapped phones when I went to another provider. It has been sitting in the closet for a few months though and I did not look at the camera before selling since it was not a problem before when I was using it. If you are still having issues please let me know. I can refund you if you mail everything back and I will take a look and swap the camera if needed or I can just discount the purchase price since there is an issue."
what do you guys suggest I should do?
Look inside of the camera lens and see if there is moisture.

when you say look inside - do you mean to take apart the camera part and see if there's moisture?

Well no, I think he ment to look closely at the camera lens to see if its clear or foggy(moist).

oh alright got it.
to be fair, the camera on my eBay Nexus 6P isn't that bad, just compared to my original Nexus 6P it seems to be a lot less detailed and a lot harder to get in focus. If I try hard enough and take 2 or 3 photos, I can get pictures that are in focus. Could this be a software issue? I notice there's a difference in the way the HDR+ looks as well.
I'm using the latest update for nexus 6p. My photos look crisp and clear. Try to flash the latest image from google for your device.

Could you explain how to flash that? Do I need to be rooted?

You flash it via adb in recovery adb sideload filename.zip or if your do the oem unlock and allow flashing, you can use the flash all executable straight from fastboot.
