Gpu max freq problem - Samsung C9 Pro Questions & Answers

C9 pro in the games gpu frequancy is max 300 mhz but gpu supported 650mhz. What ways to fix this issue. Very low performance on the pubg mobile.

SGX531 Ultra vs SGX540[Performance Analysis]

SGX531 is a old gpu (create in Oct 2006) but recently a new version of SGX531 come : SGX531 Ultra. Same numbers of units but a big overclock. His frequency is estimated between 400 and 522 Mhz. Compared at the SGX540(Nexus S, Galaxy S base frequency, 200 mhz for memory) it's a huge difference. I know overclocked version of SGX 540 exist.(Galaxy Nexus, Optimus 3D, etc). But the architecture of SGX 531 is exactly the half of architecture of SGX 540. So in theory, if we set the frequency at the exact double of SGX 540, we should get the same results but... the reality is quite different. In fact after many tests, I've comparables results of SGX531 and SGX540. Unfortunately I do not know the exact frequency used by the SGX531. Many news phones(a lot of chineses phones apparently) use this "new" gpu on low cost smartphones. The tests were performed on models with similar configurations. (mono core processor 1 Ghz, 512 mb ram, same resolution 800*480)
Results :
GL Benchmark 2.7 : (Theorical Benchmark)
Triangle throughput Textured C24Z16 Offscreen : SGX531 Ultra 7,866,918 Triangles/sec | SGX540 4,490,935 Triangles/sec 17% Better
Triangle throughput Textured C24Z16 Onscreen : SGX531 Ultra 14,021,563 Triangles/sec | SGX540 11,053,386 Triangles/sec 27% Better
Fillrate C24Z16 Offscreen : SGX531 Ultra 267,150,928 Texels/sec | SGX540 219,676,416 Texels/sec 22% Better
Fillrate C24Z16 Onscreen : SGX531 Ultra 197,397,584 Texels/sec | SGX540 128,086,480 Texels/sec 54% Better
Taiji 3D Benchmark : (Geometry Benchmark)
SGX531 Ultra : 9,21 fps / SGX540 : 11,15 fps 21 % Lesser
Nenamark 2 :
SGX531 Ultra : 23,5 fps / SGX540 26,3 fps 12 % Lesser
We notice the overwhelming superiority of SGX531 Ultra on theoric tests but SGX540 is better in real conditions
With this results i can estimated the frequency of SGX531 Ultra, 522 Mhz is possible. (the fillrate is very dependent of processor, the processor used for the tests of SGX540 is slightly recessed relative to that of SGX531 but is not limited mostly)

Sony Xperia Z Graphics Chip and GPU question

Hello, i own the Sony xperia z mobile phone. I want to know how many cores or processors the GPU of the phone employs.
As far as i know, the phone has an Adreno 320 Graphics Processing Unit clocked at 400Mhz.
Also i think there are many version of the adreno 320 video chip but some people tell me there is only one.
So i would like more information about the GPU. I also want to know the amount of video ram or video memory or VRAM the graphics chip on this device has to store video memory or pixels/memory for images.
I know that some phones can use the RAM for storing images like a buffer or a cache memory instead of their own video memory using NOP tecchnology.
I know what vram is for. Its like ram but it holds the pictures or pixels info for the pictures the gpu is processing like the hard drive.
However, VRAM is used instead of ram or hard drive to make information processing faster.
So ram was made to store settings and temp data of programs so that they can have faster access.
So just like that there is vram and it may also be on the same chip of the GPU for the adreno 320 video chip.
So, basically i must know the amount of graphics cores or processor the GPU uses and also the amount of video memory it uses to store all of it's graphics or images.
Do you know the scalibility of this gpu and the max frame rate of the gpu. Also does it support open gl 3.0?
Thank you
Adreno 320 inside the Qualcomm S4 Pro & Prime Series,
with unified shader architecture and dual channel
memory. It supports Direct3D feature level 9_3 in
addition to OpenGL ES 3.0, OpenGL ES 2.0, OpenGL ES
1.1, OpenVG 1.1, EGL 1.4, Direct3D Mobile, SVGT 1.2
Sent from my LT26i

CPU-Z shows 2.16 ghz as the max clock freq instead 2.2ghz

Is this normal?
Yes. My Redmi Note 2 Prime with the same chipset does this too.

SDM 660 or 636??

Hello
i just wanna ask and explain to me
this phone use sdm 660 or 636?
on 636 they use adreno 509 and this phone use 512 which used on 660
and i check more and more this phone use board sdm660
check on cpu z this phone use sd 660 and soc name is 636?
so which one is right? or maybe it happend on everyphone with sd 636? like on redmi note 5?
thanks ???
This phone should have SD636 like Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 pro.

This device uses Adreno 509,and not Adreno 512.CPU-Z may not be correct everytime.
No i check in every benchmark app it uses 512 lol
It is adreno 509. SD636 is the lower binning version of SD660, thus still using the same board platform. Some has said that asus intentionally leaving the build.prop or some GPU reading to adreno 512, so they can use set the higher setting in certain Game which detect available graphic quality based on GPU model. It is kinda like using GLTools from the beginning and set the GPU detection to adreno 512. PUBG maybe is one of them. In RN5P (or RN5 China), they only have the balance setting. But in Pro M1, there is HD + HFR setting (Ultra HD also available, but more framedrop). There are people who can get HD setting on RN5P, but they have to edit the game resource.
I too see that it's adreno 512 on my Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1.

CPU of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 vs. CPU of Redmi Note 5 Pro

Hello everybody
I'm still using my Samsung Galaxy S5 but it's gotten too slow.
So I want a new phone. Not sure whether Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 or Redmi Note 5 Pro.
I did a comparison:
Chipset
S5: Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 80, Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400,Adreno 330
Redmi Note 4: Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625, Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53, Adreno 506
Redmi Note 5 Pro : Qualcomm SDM636 Snapdragon 636, Octa-core 1.8 GHz Kryo 260, Adreno 509
Why would anyone buy the Redmi Note 5 Pro with a slower CPU clock speed? Does the Kryo 260 have some other features which make it faster in the end? I couldn't find many details googeling for both of the CPUs.
Your advice is appreciated.
Have a nice day
SD636 scores higher in benchmarks and has better GPU
Snap 636 is quite far better than Snap 801/805 and Snap 625. We can also overclock it and still keep good battery life
